OK, I keep telling myself that I’m not going to comment on any of this anymore, but here we are.

I am (slowly) working my way through the Anne Rice books, and I’m about halfway through TVL now. I’m quite enjoying it, and to be honest, I find it more interesting and fun than Interview. There are a number of scenes and characters I’m looking forward to seeing. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, despite several critiques about some of his acting choices (ahem, he’s absolutely right to hate some of those deliveries in 2x08 and don’t get me started again on 2x07), I love SR’s Lestat. I’m also well aware that S3 is going to be, like, 99% focused on him. I’m sure I’ll enjoy it immensely and maybe even change my tune whenever it comes out, but frankly I’m not too impatient about it.

What AM I impatient for? Seeing how they rewrite and restructure to keep Louis around more. Seeing if they bring Claudia back in some way. Even some Talamasca shenanigans (every finger crossed for more Real Rashid) and other larger world-building lore.

What am I GAGGING for? What do I think about nearly all the time, knowing that we might only get crumbs (if even THAT much)? VampDaniel being the most annoying nepofledgling in history. Gremlin Armand. Any hint of Devil’s Minion I can possibly get. It feels almost too greedy to say more flashbacks with LBF.

This is mostly because the acting and writing made me care far more about those characters and storylines than Lestat’s. But also partly because the awards bullshit has made me emphatically MEH about all things Lestat. They have to know they have near-zero chances of even being nominated*, so the FYC are solely about publicity within the industry and, I guess, for potential new viewers. They’re already throwing away money on these pushes, so they could very easily have lost some more by splitting the 0% probability between SR and AZ. Instead, all they did was double down repeatedly, causing discord among the previously (from what I saw) relatively loyal and supportive fandom and reflecting poorly on themselves with regards to racism. I hope it was worth it for them to do all that at the expense of driving away some fans and reducing enthusiasm among others, specifically in relation to the actor and character they want to be the face of the show next season. Please miss me with any attempts to explain The Industry to me. I’ve known how The Industry and awards shows specifically work longer than some of you have been alive, so prioritizing a white man at the expense of POC co-stars AND trying to pretend that’s not what is happening is absolutely nothing new.

*I DO think they may have some better chances with non-acting awards, including animation and the 2x05 episode. (I’m actually kind of sad that they didn’t put LBF up for guest actor too, especially considering his odd connections that could give him a better chance than most.) I will be thrilled with any nominations that happen, of course. I’m just not holding my breath.

Was Buck implicitly prompting Tommy for an explanation? If Tommy had stopped at the first sentence, would Buck have asked follow-up questions?

Or was Buck just seeking confirmation that Tommy wouldn't use the same excuse twice? If Tommy had stopped at the first sentence, would Buck have happily accepted it and declined to dig deeper?

The way Demon kept his composure throughout the match was admirable. Literally every single point he was serving for, someone was screaming or there was whistling. We might have to add him go the stan list
