FINALLY got around to reading Flames of Hope and it was underwhelming as fuuuuck lol

I had high hopes, I loved every other book in this arc, but man the total faceplant of the climax...

Explanation for The Scorching was so fucking boring man. It's the whole scale issue WOF always has. Like what do you MEAN dragons burned an entire fucking world because of ONE GUY eggsnatching? That's IT? Tbh I wish they had just kept the Scorching a mystery this was just bland.

Why were Sky and Wren there? At all? Why are they on THE COVER? So we could get a human perspective here and there? They were way more interesting in Dragonslayer tbh

What was the point of Dusky? Why was he there? Who are you?

Also from the beginning of this arc the racism/slavery allegory was bad. Boring and bad. Boring, bad, and rushed as fuck.

I really liked Lizard/Freedom though. Wish they had done literally anything else with her.

Lately my mood can be described as uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuugh for various petty and stupid reasons (as in, I tried to explain the main one causing my spontaneous internal groaning to my parents and their response was essentially “that is the stupidest thing to be a problem, you know how to fix it, why are you complaining about this?”), and the pettiness and stupidity of the problems just makes me want to go uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuugh all the more

uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuugh i’ve gotten so much better about not being a whiny baby about my body image and not picking at unreasonable things but i hate how heavy i am these days and i want to change it so badly in a way where my life will actually be different for the long term. all I know is crazy stuff and crash dieting which don’t last. it feels like everything else does nothing thanks to my apparently snail-esque metabolism. i don’t want to just be healthier overall. of course i want that, but i also want to see visible change. I’m so tired of nothing happening.
