Can I ask what 3D Program you use to model/unwrap with to make your patterns? That's brilliant! My unwrapped meshes never really map correctly to make patterns. Keep up the good work, your plush is looking awesome! =D
Sure! I model with Blender and unwrap with UVLayout :D Blender can unwrap as well, but the flattened patterns don’t translate to plush very well. But like this post shows, it’s still not fool-proof; the models need to accurately reflect how plushies bulge and stretch and such.
Blender is completely free, and UVLayout is kinda-sorta free in that you can download the free trial. The free trial doesn’t let you save the full file, but it does let you output a JPEG of the flattened pieces, which is all you need for plush purposes.

Edit: I then vectorize/refine the patterns in Adobe Illustrator CS6. Illustrator isn’t free, but while I’ve never used it, I’ve heard the program Inkscape is a good+free Illustrator-like option

Awww, thank you so much! I feel really happy when my efforts were not in vain, so I’m truly glad to hear that you notice it and write to me such a sweet message. As for the software... Okay, usually the process looks like this:
Marvelous Designer for the highpoly mesh > ZBrush for basic retopology [ and for textures sometimes ] > Blender for everything else > UVLayout for uv mapping > CasTools for some fixes if needed > His Highness Adobe Photoshop > S4Studio

When you update the mesh to change the uvlayout and update the textures to match... you actually need to import ALL the things into TSRW for it to look right... not just the textures... :facepalm:

So, after the World Machine, I got curious and find out about Gaea Quadspinner. She is beautiful albeit I'm fairly new to it. Here's the Martian-inspired fully procedural terrain I did to check it out. And I'm thrilled to try using not the usual node workflow, but the layer mixed with sculpting. And the more I learn about environment design, the more I'm fascinated by it. And, honestly, Gaea is very pleasing, even aesthetically (I know, I know, one shouldn’t judge a program by its cover, UVLayout proved it).
