I really wish more people on the left/blue side of things in the US would start verifying things before sharing. There is twisted information on both sides, and I'm seeing so many people doing the exact same thing we like to crucify the right for - sharing/reposting/amplifying something just because it alines with our beliefs/fears/narrative. Without fact checking or independent verification.

Search engines are free.

Idc how much you trust the source - even trusted, reliable sources can be wrong sometimes. Verify it for yourself.

I'm not saying they're necessarily willfully lying to us. There is so much information coming at all of us at such an incredible rate that it is easy to misunderstand, misinterpret, misread, take something out of context or simply get swept up in the emotion of it all and forget to fact check.

Also, we're only human. Those of us with a working moral compass, a heart and more than two functioning brain cells are quite rightly terrified/experiencing a rollercoaster of emotions. It is easy to get caught up in that to the point that it takes over. Stop. Take a deep breath. Back away from the social media and go look it up with a proper search engine. Sometimes you might be pleasantly surprised.

This entire situation is exhausting enough without repeated facepalms from seeing people I know and love on the left spreading misinformation simply because it is plausible and/or aligns with the narrative they want.

The situation at Al-Shifa Hospital complex continues deteriorating drastically. Multiple sources report that dozens of displaced people, patients, and medical staff have been murdered by the occupation, and hundreds have been kidnapped. People are being strip-searched, interrogated, violated, forced to stand naked in the cold, and some are then kidnapped and taken to an unknown location. Others are forced to evacuate, many still at least partly naked. Some are allowed back inside the cramped buildings.

There are still hundreds or even thousands of patients, displaced people, and medical staff trapped in Al-Shifa. They have been herded into buildings and are shot by snipers if they move. There are fires throughout the complex, indicated by massive pillars of smoke that are filling buildings and making it difficult for people to breathe.

In addition to attacking the hospital complex, the IOF have attacked neighborhood homes by bombing, shelling, and shooting into them. Dozens of injured people have made calls to the Red Crescent emergency service in desperate need of rescue, but the occupation refuses to allow any medical or humanitarian entity (Palestinian or international) into the area. Local resident Emmy Shaheen and her family are under attack in their apartment building by the IOF right now, and her brother has been injured. Some reports say the Special Surgery Building, housing the most advanced medical equipment in the Gaza Strip, has been demolished with people still inside. Groups like the Red Crescent are begging the occupation to allow them in to treat the wounded, but the occupation refuses.

Social Security News Round Up Published 3/29/25

They have postponed smashing Social Security until Monday on the grounds they did zero trainings, fired the people that would be writing the program that doesn't exist yet, so... Yeah.

There is a rush to do it as, if the agency is still functional on April 2, they will have to actually send people their money and the Republicans absolutely don't want to do that, hence them aiming for the 1st of the month.

Keep complaining. It's slowing them down.

This is usually mistakes, not fraud, sometimes on the part of the agency. Taking 100% means some people will be homeless.

Well that was stressful. So I went to search for a capcut older version cuz mine VERY RUDELY turned on auto updates (that wasn't even an option before) and updated on its own-- Only for me to find out that there's searches in my search history that I DID NOT search for at all.
