Gaza has been enduring the horrors of war, destruction, death, and displacement for over a year. The death toll has exceeded 50,000, with thousands missing, hundreds of thousands wounded, and over 2 million people displaced from their homes. As this tragedy continues, it seems the world has lost its conscience, remaining silent in the face of such devastation without taking any meaningful action.
Gaza, once praying over its dead alone, now seems as though it is mourning the death of the world’s conscience, as humanity and the principles of human rights have been abandoned, leaving its people to face death and destruction on their own.

You don’t need a theory to know who’s suffering.
You don’t need permission to stand beside them.
The system is designed to make you forget who your people are.
Most people don’t look away because they don’t care.
They look away because it hurts, and no one taught them what to do with that.

Illustration of five protestors standing beneath a stormy sky. Their signs read: “Hands Off My Rights, Not Just My Body,” “50501 Is the Zip Code of Resistance,” and “Where Were You When the Library Closed?” The figures are illustrated in a textured, block-print style. Their faces are solemn, angry, and determined. The sky behind them is layered with dark clouds and small breaks of light.

A few days ago I visited the Banksy exhibition — and it's still stuck in my head. Sharp, sarcastic, painfully honest. From shredded canvases to kids standing over piles of weapons, every piece hit with uncomfortable truth. It wasn’t just art — it was a mirror, and it didn’t flatter. I left questioning more than I expected. That’s what good art does.

🟥 "We’re not horses. We’re human beings." 🟥 A haunting reminder in a world that often values productivity over humanity. This powerful piece hits hard—evoking Squid Game vibes with its chilling portrayal of identity, surveillance, and dehumanization.
🚷 Citizen Processing — Lane A The line, the numbers, the cold stare of the camera… Are we really free, or just following the system's design?

Flickr Social da Barbara Bonanno BNNRRB Tramite Flickr: I am a social artist. You are an antisocial group. You banned me years ago, as if I were a criminal, and I'm still excluded. Then you wonder why people open free accounts and use nicknames. Not me. I use my full name and my face. Always. This is censorship. This is abuse of power. And that’s not the end. With free accounts, I reached Flickr Explore almost 90 times. With my Pro account, which I've been paying for for years, only twice. One of them for Flickr’s anniversary. Something doesn’t add up. This looks like silent punishment, a subtle form of exclusion. #Flickr, hire me. I’ll help you clean up this mess.

💡🌑 Light and darkness — two forces we often take for granted. We flip a switch and expect light to follow. But what if that light wasn’t guaranteed? For millions living in conflict zones or behind prison walls, light — both physical and metaphorical — is a rare and precious gift. Two artists, Lothar Wolleh and Nadya Tolokonnikova (@tolokno_), lived through this darkness. Both were unjustly imprisoned. Both found light through art. 📸 Wolleh, a German photographer, discovered photography in a Siberian gulag near today’s Vorkuta, where the northern lights became a symbol of resistance. His unpublished Vatican works recreate that mystical glow — a defiant dance of hope in sacred spaces. 🔗 Nadya, member of Pussy Riot, turned her incarceration into a radical art practice. In her exhibition **WANTED** at @nageldraxler (on view until June 6), she recreates her prison cell, exposing the brutal system she endured — and still fights against. Their stories span decades, but their message is the same: even in the deepest dark, we can still find — or create — the light. ✨ Lothar Wolleh, *The Enemy and his People*, is on view @lotharwolleh until August 16. #LotharWolleh #NadyaTolokonnikova #PussyRiot #WANTEDExhibition #NagelDraxler #LotharWollehRaum #ArtAsResistance #ArtAndPolitics #NorthernLights #FromDarknessToLight #PhotographyExhibition #ContemporaryArt #VisualProtest #PrisonArt #FreedomOfExpression #AlexeiNavalny #HumanRights #BerlinArtScene #DüsseldorfArt #MoscowVoices #GulagSurvivors #ArcticLight #MolotovArt #LightAndDarkness #HopeThroughArt
