Back in April, I was talking about my undergraduate senior recital and encouraging people to watch the live stream. While the livestream sadly had some technical difficulties, I was provided with a wonderful video of almost the entire recital afterwards.

because im insane, i picked up the violin and learned how to play it since nov 2021. with pure tenacity (autism), i finally am equipped to learn vivaldi's winter -- a piece i only ever dreamed of playing (i have a lot of these lmao) -- now, i can hear it right under my fingertips 😭

im still debating with myself on whether i should use spiccato or staccato on the C sections and also the bowings but eh, lessgo ✨️

It's a bit random, but for some reason, I loved hearing Vivaldi's "Winter" in Ep. 4 of R&M. I dunno if it was deliberately ironic to use the piece Winter on their part, or if they used it just because it slaps. Either way, I was overjoyed! :D

Just had a memory come back to me, of how 16 years ago I was doing some housework and listening to music and I suddenly became aware that the song I was listening to, which was a rich, dark, velvety green, used to be more of a dusky orange colour.

I couldn't remember a song ever changing colour before, and asked my (now) husband if that had ever happened to him before

The conversation went roughly as follows

Me: oh wow, that's weird

Husband: what's weird?

Me: has a song ever changed colour for you?

Husband: ....what?

Me: it's so weird, I'm certain this used to be orange, but now it's green.

Husband: what do you mean?

Me: ...I mean what I said. I'm sure it was orange but it's green now. I don’t think I'm misremembering

Husband: what do you mean "it's green now?"

Me: wait, so it's not green? What colour do you think this is?

Husband: i have no idea what you're talking about

Me: (getting frustrated now) babe, I literally cannot explain this any simpler. You know how music has colours?

Husband.... what?

Me: Music! Has colours!

Husband:....

And anyway, that's how I discovered at age 27 that synesthesia is a thing and not everyone has it
