What’s your thoughts on wui hei quan dogs?

This response is going to derail.

My thoughts about any and all non-western breeds are that English (or Norwegian, which are inevitably translated from English) sources are rubbish, and the current media environment makes it near-impossible to search for anything.

This isn't new. This is western dog fancy.

My search engines will organize my location-based results over the things i actually write in the search field. My English-language and Latin-alphabet search results will inevitably land me search results in English.

Which means that from my scope, the wui hei quan dog could be anything from a fabricated tiktok trend featuring a black "chow" puppy to a genuine heavily pigmented regional breed of Chinese farmdog ("garden dog" but I've been around this translation block before, i c u). I'm tempted to lean toward the latter, just because the google search results want me to exchange "wui hei quan dog" for "xiasi dog," and the regions those are supposed to originate from are some minor fifteen travel hours apart. Which is a little bit like exchanging a Norwegian buhund for a German schnauzer. A household/farmdog from comparable regions. Right?

We run into this problem pretty often. You've got your chows and your shar peis, but otherwise, not-noble breeds are easily overlooked. Pekingese were "stolen" from the aristocracy so they're novel, our knowledge of Japanese breeds curiously spikes after WW2. You can throw a racism argument and I agree, but let's add a class card as well. How many regional Chinese ratters do FCI recognize?

Our knowledge of dogs is limited by access, language, and curiosity. We have access, arguably, and to an extent we can overcome language barriers. But I'm not sure we're curious enough.

In short, I've got zero to no thoughts about the wui hei quan dog or wuyishan black dog, because I know nothing about it. I would love to have more thoughts. I'd love to hear about regional asian dog breeds and their quirks and their qualms and politics.

so. now that my accidental hiatus is over and i've rattled myself free of the grave, i just want to give a general update on this blog and where i'm at with it. because i do love this blog and want to post, but when i made this blog, the intention of it was canon-based metas and discussions around DC that were often ship-focused, but also just generally my opinions on the fandom. and of course i enjoy rolling around in the filth and having a lot of sexual/dead dove posts on main, but it did overwhelm me a bit when that became my entire blog and i got more asks than i could keep up with.

so in the future, i think i'm going to stagger how fast i answer asks and try to find a healthy mix of my own metas, dead dove shipposting, and whatever else i want to put here. and while i don't want to close asks because i invite discourse my way, i do have to say i will be much slower to answering them. sometimes we will be whores on main, sometimes we will be analyzing this fandom and it's source material on main. who is to say. but either way, we're back and no one can get rid of me.

Uhmmmm. I've kinda... overanalyzed his design to hell and back cause that's really all we have to go off of.

Lowkey I think he's more stable than Error!Sans and Error!Undyne but less stable than Blueberror and this is kinda for a few reasons. Mostly because he's wearing his Sans' jacket. Which yk, implies his Sans is dead, but also that he's like... aware enough to have felt sentimental attachment to his Sans' jacket and kept it (notice how Error!Sans doesn't have his Papyrus' scarf anymore, since he doesn't remember him, even though we know he used to as Geno). But also because he doesn't have the like- eyeboogers that Error!Sans and Undyne do. Like if how Error!Sans got his is like the standard (having the epic crashout to end all epic crashouts and loosing all sense of self) and if Blueberror is relatively stable by error standards and doesn't have them, I'd imagine having them is probably a sign of how idk... errored? an error is.

However yeah like you said earlier he's kinda creepy and hangs out with known threat to the entire multiverse, Error!Undyne. Which I've taken to mean he's yeah still incredibly unhinged (moreso than Blueberror, who's basically still just Swap!Sans with C-PTSD).

Like I don't think he had bad intentions at least at first (yk, Papyrus, the guy who's so much of a pacifist he literally stops doing damage when his enemies are at 1 hp) but like yk, if monsters are like condensed love and hope and stuff, seems like errors are usually either condensed loneliness (Blueberror), nihilism (Error!Sans), or rage (Error!Undyne). (i think being an error changes what feeling a monster is made out of, which is why apparently humans can't become them? They're literally like magic users in adventure time with their magic madness and sadness). But yeah I think basically being condensed loneliness would probably make him like start fucking with people. Kinda think Papyrus in general is so lawful good he ends up being chaotic and I think that would apply 10x more to Error!Papyrus.

Like "OH YOU'RE SAD AND LONELY? I'M GONNA PUT YOU IN MY WEIRD CREEPY COLLECTION THAT I MADE SO I'D NEVER BE LONELY AGAIN. THEN YOU CAN'T BE LONELY, AND BY EXTENSION SAD." I think he thinks he's helping but he's really making things like 100x worse (self awareness is not in the error dictionary). Like I don't think he's intentionally hurting people (yk, it's Papyrus), but like I don't think he's like, stopping genocidal humans. He just wants attention and companionship.

I do think him and Error!Sans meeting would make both of them kinda freak out though (/pos or /neg I'm not really sure. Probably both).

Anyways sorry if this was like long and annoying, but like idk I kinda wanna know what you think about any of that. @_@

Except i think Error and Error papyrus wouldn’t really recognize their brothers in each other due to their extremely different appearances and personalities…,. Maybe they’d hesitate to really attack each other (the same way error hesitates to attack us-papyrus) but i still think it wouldn’t be different than them interacting with any other versions of their brothers

I also agree that the marks on errors show their sanity to a certain degree.. i really like that take because it backs up error undynes malice because her eyesboogers are INSANE

Do you guys have thoughts about how the Phantom Thieves and Akechi's work under Shido goes in this universe? Is the Metaverse and change of hearts still a thing, or is the AU grounded outside of supernatural shenanigans like that?

Thank you for taking interest! And I feel you completely... I'm already such a sucker for two-faced characters, but give them even higher stakes and disadvantages when it comes to hiding their true selves, and I go feral haha truthfully, the AU still maintains much of the same plot and elements as the original game, just with the added dæmons.

We've mostly focused our attentions on the day-to-day life aspect, though. Probably should play around more with the supernatural, otherworldly half of the narrative sldfjsslfj

I'm not the biggest angst girlie (more so a fluff girlie, especially if it's domestic fluff) but if It does have Angst I would prefer hurt/comfort because I can't handle pure angst or I will cry violently. Oh and I hate Miscommunication but that's because logically we know what the others are doing most likely but the characters don't so it just makes me want to scream.

A.k.a my Angst preference is like no super hard hurt no comfort because I can take Angst like almost dying and getting injured and stuff but I like there to be a side of comfort with it. also as long as there's no major character death, non-con, or underage stuff I'm pretty sure I can handle it.

Fav fic tropes however is a fun one and so I will list some that I have enjoyed:

Marriage proposals/weddings (like those are my favorite things and I can not explain why, Jay can let you know that It is in fact my bread and butter

Fake Dating is also a good one especially if it turns into real dating (I've read a 45k word one-shot about Buck and Eddie fake dating to go to Buck's parents' retirement party cause Buck didn't want to deal with his parents alone while Maddie is also trying to deal with their parents and it was so beautifully written my god I finished it in one 5 hour sitting it was wild)

Friends to lovers is also a favorite of mine because while some people are enemies to lovers fans I just prefer the opposite (and in Buck and Eddie's case I love the speedrunning friends to fiancés for them!!)

if it's a father figure/maternal figure and their perceived adoptive child story I love ones where they explicitly get told that the other sees them like a son/daughter or a mother/father like those are so good for me to read and it's why I love Buck and Bobby's dynamic so much because Buck says in the 9-1-1 and 9-1-1 lone star crossover that Bobby is kind of like his father figure AND IT'S JUST I need these two to actually have a conversation about it okay

also any stories that do like good character introspection about characters' backstories and their connections to people like I love me a good character study LIKE ONE TIME I READ A ONE-SHOT ABOUT BUCK AND HIS RELATIONSHIP TO ALMOST DYING AND IT WAS SO-

Sickfics are also a trope I love because I just love seeing characters get taken care of. The trust needed to have someone else take care of you while you're in a state that makes you achy and hurt and just genuinely miserable feeling just is so nice to me, especially since this trope can be used Platonically and Romantically it's just a good over-all trope.

This also feeds into another trope I like called a character gets a breakdown and gets comforted and held like that is my favorite trope and I think it shows sometimes, sue me I like comfort.

My guilty pleasures are Chatfics/social media aus because those are fun to just breeze through and you don't have to really worry too much about typos because you can fix them in the story as a character fixing their own typo and I know they're not everyone's cup of tea but they're just so fun for me to read personally.

About to lose my shit over my shitty Algebra teacher cause i think he’s the devil incarnate cause he doesn’t respect kid’s 504 plans, there is this kid who may not always show up to class on time for some reason im not sure why but they try their best to catch up and work hard and they asked to send over and take the recent test they missed in a certain classroom and he was like “No you cant, you have to show up tomorrow in here to take it” when literally in their 504 plan says they can take it in that room no one can force them to take it in their classroom, but DOES HE CARE??? NOOOOOO. I think he was just trying to be tough or smth god knows what cause he has a huge ass power complex like dear god dude we get it you were a army guy but is yelling at teens really what you wanna do to feel that high of power again?? The kid then complained to the school and he got a ass whooping but sadly not fired and then the next day was pissed as hell and took it out on all of us 😍

he doesn’t care to actually help students at all, he just gives up on them if they don’t understand the first or barely the second time and tells em to basically fuck off and find someone else to explain it and i get it teaching is hard you might not be able to get everyone to understand BUT ITS LITERALLY HIS GO TO RESPONSE WHEN YOU DONT UNDERSTAND SMTH IN HIS SHITTY RAPID FIRE EXPLANATION WHEN HE JUST JUMPS FROM THING TO THING WITH NO VISUAL OR EVEN SENSE CAUSE WTF HOW DID YOU GET THAT ANSWER HELLO??
