A doesn’t believe in love—not anymore. Maybe they used to. Maybe once, they were wide-eyed and hopeful, the kind of person who believed in forever. But time, heartbreak, or watching the people around them fall apart turned them into someone who keeps their walls high and their heart locked tight.

They’re not bitter—they’re just realistic. Love is messy. Love is temporary. Love leaves. So they’ve stopped looking for it. Casual connections, sure. Flings that burn fast and fade faster, absolutely. But the kind of love that changes you? That stays? It’s a lie dressed up in pretty words.

Then along comes B.

B is the quiet kind of constant. Maybe they’re patient, maybe they’re persistent, maybe they don’t even know they’re changing anything—but they are. They don’t push. They don’t demand. They just show up. Again and again. And slowly, something shifts.

A starts to feel it—the flutter, the ache, the terrifying hope. And it makes them want to run. Because if they let this happen, if they let someone in, if they start to believe that maybe this one person could be different… what happens when it ends?

But what if B isn’t like the rest? What if love doesn’t always leave?

What if this time… it’s the exception?

it is legit bizarre to me how hard video game creators and film directors and showrunners try to pretend that fat people don't exist. can you think of the last time you saw a fat person in a lead role? god forbid a fat woman? i can walk down the street or go into a shop or restaurant and see fat people everywhere but then i switch on the tv and suddenly it's like a glimpse into an alternate universe where no one has a bmi over 24. insidious and weird

A has been in love before—and it left marks. The kind of love that made them question their worth, bend to fit into someone else’s world, and mistake emotional chaos for passion. Now, they carry the weight of that past into everything they do: hesitant touches, quiet apologies, and the belief that love will always end in disappointment.

Then they meet B.

B is nothing like what came before. Patient. Soft. Safe. The kind of person who notices the flinches, the pauses before A speaks, the way they shut down when things get too good. B doesn’t push. They just stay.

Slowly—so slowly—it starts to shift. A begins to unlearn what love used to mean. That it doesn’t have to hurt. That silence doesn’t have to mean punishment. That tenderness isn’t something earned—it’s something given freely.

But healing isn’t a straight line. There are moments where A pulls away. Where their past whispers louder than B’s reassurance. Where the voice in their head says, you’re too much. too broken. too late.

And B just says, no, you’re not.

This is a story about rebuilding your heart while someone holds it gently in their hands. About believing you’re allowed to be loved without fixing every cracked piece first. About learning each other. And learning yourself, too.

Okay so I’m not going to lie, part of why I haven’t been drawing Mara a lot is for three reasons:

1. She had an entire plotline planned that I ended up scrapping and redoing but that meant putting her in the backseat for a bit.

2. Im honestly afraid of drawing her 20 fallen angel partners I feel like I go a little insane even thinking about it. 20 characters with unique designs and outfits? No, I’m exploding in real life.

3. I’ve been slowly regretting making her a succubus. She was originally an Imp but I didn’t have a base idea for the imp design yet so I just went with a succubus but I’ve been wanting to add more demon characters that weren’t just succubi and hellhounds.

Unfortunately the way people treated the redesigns (specifically Domino’s where I had people messaging me for WEEKS to change it back), makes me kind of unsure if I wanna do a full species swap lmfao. Mara is very cute and I love her OG design, I just don’t want her to be another succubus, so it’s frustrating.

Damn. Remember when this webcomic was a hobby for me.

pov your ex held your collection of thrifted spoons hostage for over a year (not entirely his fault, they got mixed up in his things during a move and you did not realize it, though he did adamantly deny that he had them) and reached out to your roommate on instagram nine months post break up after being thoroughly blocked for several months just to ask if you were still roommates and then to very cryptically reveal that he had in fact found the spoons (among other, mystery items that he did not reveal and you also have no idea what they are) in his car that he had not driven for a year cause he decided to make the worst financial decision of his life and buy a tesla and then tried to coordinate a meet up to drop off said spoons and mystery items which you did not want but you do want your spoons so you told him to either mail it or show up to your place of work when you were not scheduled only for him to entirely miss the point and still try to see you, then you reveal that you do not want to see him so he finally says that he will put on his big boy pants and mail it (though him actually mailing it is entirely unlikely) and also aparently hes gotten a perm since the last time you saw him and it looks terrible

I think, perhaps one of the funniest things to come from EPIC popularising the Odyssey is that now a ton of people think Poseidon wanted to kill Odysseus.

In the Odyssey, Poseidon has no intention of killing Odysseus. In fact, part of the whole reason Zeus lets Poseidon do whatever he wants even though he thinks Odysseus is rad and should get to kiss his wife is explicitly because Poseidon had no intentions of killing Odysseus. Poseidon wanted to pay back the suffering/inconvenience blinding Polyphemus would have caused. It's a really abstract thing tbh. How do you pay back someone permanently disabling your son? Poseidon's solution was just to amputate Odysseus from his other half; i.e. Penelope. The end game was never murder, it was always an endurance race.

Also, for those wondering if there's any sort of in text reason for why Poseidon wasn't around in God Games - at the time in the Odyssey when Athena petitions Zeus to let Odysseus leave Calypso's island, Poseidon was -checks notes- on vacation in Ethiopia. Yep. He left to Ethiopia for a festival and thusly was very much absent for Athena's whole "please let Ody go? Please? 🥺" request.

I am begging y'all to read the Odyssey. It's a comedy for everyone except Odysseus and Penelope who are, in fact, suffering 24/7 365.
