Viral Yuri Manga 'The Guy She Was Interested In Wasn't a Guy at All' Released in English
On Tuesday, Yen Press released the first volume of Sumiko Arai's popular Yuri manga The Guy She Was Interested In Wasn't a Guy at All (Ki ni Natteru Hito ga Otoko Janakatta) digitally and in paperback.

The manga, which started its weekly run on X (formerly Twitter) in 2022, follows gyaru Aya Oosawa, who develops a crush on the alt clerk at the CD shop she frequents, unaware that it is her female classmate, Mitsuki Koga. Yen Press further describes the series:
Fashionable and upbeat high schooler Aya falls head over heels for an employee at a local CD shop. Heâs got an air of mystery about him, always dressed well, and has impeccable taste in music. Little does she knowâthis supposedly male employee is actually her female classmate Mitsuki! Mitsuki generally keeps to herself, but since her seat is right next to Ayaâs, she can't help but be extremely aware of the otherâs crush. Revealing the truth is out of the questionâbut perhaps getting closer to Aya wouldnât be so bad...
The series became incredibly popular after its release online, with fans internationally drawn in by the series' distinctive artwork, character designs, and green-color pallet. According to the English publisher, the manga was one of the most demanded series in the recent past and is set to become one of Yen Press's biggest releases of the year.
In April 2023, Kadokawa published the first volume of The Guy She Was Interested In in Japanese. The manga began serialization on Pixiv Comic the same month. The series also won Kadokawa's 2023 Next Manga Award in the web manga category. The second collected volume was released in Japanese in April and is scheduled for English release on February 18, 2025.

The series is translated into English by Ajani Oloye.

"The universe never tells us if we did right or wrong. By the 24th century, humanity has conquered the cosmos. However, life has remained anything but easy. In The Expanse: Osiris Reborn, a story-driven sci-fi Action RPG, you play as a Pinkwater Security mercenary whose brief shore leave on the asteroid Eros spirals out of control. Trapped in a deadly lockdown and drawn into a solar system-wide conspiracy far beyond your control, youâll have to adapt, survive, taking command of the most advanced ship in the whole of the solar system. Create and customize your own captain â Earther, Martian, or Belter â and lead a crew of highly-skilled specialists as you face off against escalating threats, political pressure, and a relentless enemy that will stop at nothing to see you dead. In a solar system held together by fragile alliances, every decision leaves its mark. Trust isnât given â itâs earned. Your companions are more than just mission assets â they are people with their own scars and loyalties. Some chase redemption. Others hide their truths. Over time, your relationships will flourish or deteriorate depending on the choices you make and how you choose to lead. The ship becomes your home â a place where trust is earned, not given. Dynamic third-person combat. Fight in third-person utilizing cover-focused gunplay and abilities. Two companions will accompany you into the field while others will support from a distance: disabling systems or drawing the enemiesâ attention. You will issue real-time commands and have to adapt quickly to survive the manifold threats the system will throw at you. The fractured world of The Expanse. Visit iconic locations like Ganymede, Ceres, Mars, and Luna. Walk through ruined habitats and political strongholds mired in unease and tension. Talk to the locals. Uncover secrets. Use your skills to influence what happens next. The system looks different from every planet and from every asteroid. Some are falling apart. Others just hide it better. You may even come across a familiar face or voice that reminds you of just how small the system really is."

"INTRODUCTION The Expanse: Osiris Reborn is a third-person sci-fi action RPG set in the universe of The Expanse, where the tenuous balance of power between Earth, Mars, and the Belt is on the brink of collapse, and trust is a scarce commodity. Now it is time to gather a crew and find your own path through the web of lies to leave your mark on the solar system. By the 24th century, humanity has conquered the cosmos, but that hasn't made life any easier. What begins as a brief sojourn on the asteroid Eros reluctantly entangles you in a solar system-wide conspiracy. You will need to adapt to survive and keep your motley crew united in their mission as everything around you begins to fall apart. This is your story. The Expanse: Osiris Reborn offers a truly personal journey that evolves based on the choices you make and the pressures they place on everything you stand for. CHARACTERS Your crew is more than just backup â theyâre the heart of your story. Each companion brings with them their own personal history and motives for joining the mission, though not all are easy to uncover. Theyâre more than just specialists. Some are haunted by past mistakes. Others hold on dearly to loyalty, survival, or even something theyâve never been capable of fully putting into words. The ship becomes your shared home â itâs not just a command center but a place where the crew can bond and where trust is earned. A single shared silence might become the foundation for a much deeper connection. A single decision could overturn it all. The way you lead your crew and the choices you make under pressure will shape every relationship in ways you donât always see coming. COMBAT Combat in The Expanse: Osiris Reborn is tactical and built around smart decision-making under pressure, where every move has the potential to shift the balance of a fight. Control your captain in third-person, and gain the upper hand by making use of a variety of weapons, tactics (cover, command, etc.), and specialized abilities. The game features multiple roles, each offering a distinct approach that reflects your personal playstyle. Two companions will fight alongside you, supporting whatever strategy you choose with complementary skills. Others will assist from a distance, hacking into systems or drawing enemiesâ attention right when you need it most. You will issue commands in real time and coordinate with your squad to stay one step ahead as the battlefield evolves. Survival depends on how quickly you can adapt and who you trust to stand with you when your back is to the wall. EXPLORATION The Expanse: Osiris Reborn opens into a narrative-driven world where shifting power dynamics and personal choices will define your experience. Youâll visit the marvel that is the gardens of Ganymede, the teeming slums of Ceres, whole bunker complexes veiled in vastness of the Asteroid Belt, and the imperious political bastions of Mars and Luna. As you travel throughout the solar system, you will be ensnared in a cyclone of power struggles and unresolved conflict. The system looks different from every planet and from every asteroid. Some are falling apart. Others just hide it better. Talk to the locals and use your skills to influence the outcomes, sometimes by digging into secrets some may wish remained buried. You may even cross paths with those who have already made their indelible mark on this universe. What you learn and how you act upon it can open new paths and slowly and subtly change your place in the world around you."

Here are some more sherlock holmes adaptations that everyone should watch too:
đ THE MOST RECENT ADAPTATIONS:
(not including CBS Watson (2025) and CW Sherlock & Daughter (2025))
MADEMOISELLE HOLMES đ«đ· (2024-2025)
Two Season (till now); with Lola Dewaere & Tom Villa
Charlotte Holmes is a descendant of Holmes, she is also a cop (detective) and solve crimes with her friend Samy. The series is primarily about his family. There's a secret about her genetic heritage beyond Holmes. It's not my favorite, but it's fun.

SHERLOCK THE MUSICAL (2022)
With Conlon Bonner and Kaden Caldwell
A beautiful musical about Holmes and Watson. It's a great and unique adaptation of "The Final Problem." A bit like Hamilton. Holmes also sings a love song "Love Someone" clearly for Watson.
THE HOUND OF THE BASKERVILLES (2022)
Wiht Jake Ferretti, Niall Ransome and Serena Manteghi
An incredible adaptation of THOTB with three talented actors playing all the characters . Very entertaining and well-produced. The gif to convince đ«” to watch.
КДŃĐ»ĐŸĐș ĐČ Đ ĐŸŃŃОО/SHERLOCK IN RUSSIA đ·đș (2020)
one season. With Maxime MatveĂŻev
Holmes and Watson pursue Jack the Ripper, who ends up seriously injuring Watson and forcing Holmes to follow him to Russia, where Holmes ends up staying and investigating other cases. It's a very well produced series, the cases are very interesting and very well developed. Holmes is straight and Watson is replaced. +18

SHERLOCK HOLMES AND THE GREAT ESCAPE (2019)
Holmes and Watson investigate a series of crimes, and search for a criminal who always leaves his calling card. It's cute and adorable. It's almost like Holmes meets Robin Hood.

THE EMPIRE OF CORPSES (2015)
Watson follows in the footsteps of Victor Frankenstein as he tries to bring his brother's life and soul back. I find this animation fascinating. There is no Holmes here.

đ NOT VERY WELL KNOWN:
THE RETURN OF SHERLOCK HOLMES (1987) (Michael Pennington & Margaret Colin)
SHERLOCK HOLMES RETURN (1993) (Anthony Higgins & Debrah Farentino)
These two adaptations are pilot episodes of series that never happened. Holmes awakens from cryogenics to find the modern world and learn about it from a female counterpart of Watson. In the first version, Jane Watson, a descendant of Watson, is like a daughter to Holmes. In the second, Dr. Winslow is his friend.

PUPPET HOLMES (2017) & FOGTOWN (2024)
If you liked Fogtown, you might like this web series. It's very funny and entertaining. The two independent productions are puppets.
youtube
GRANADA YOUNG HOLMES (1982)
With Guy Henry
It has no relation to Granada Holmes. Holmes gives Watson narrated files recounting an old case he solved when he was very young. Moran is also here.

đ How to watch, you ask?
In the Giant List Of Adaptations you will find the means: Enjoy.
and to the anon who emailed me Shekhar Home: THANK YOU

Bloodborne PSX One of the best fanworks on the web
Though the PS4 boasted and still boasts an impressive library of releases, for many (myself included) the system served to be bought for initially one purpose, to be the Bloodborne Machine. Most of the people in my life who had a PS4 during its generation either bought one exclusively to play Fromsoftwareâs Nightmare Hunting Adventure or had initially got one solely to play the game and ended up getting more games afterward. Itâs a phenomenon the game industry sees time and time again, with previous generations having swathes of fans buying entire consoles for one or two games. As far as games go though, Bloodborne is at the very least worth the price of entry. At the time, it was heralded as Fromsoftwareâs most cutting-edge and impressive game to date. A gorgeous gothic world filled with creatures ripped straight out of H.P Lovecraftâs nightmares, a haunting soundtrack showcasing beautifully composed choral scores and a combat system that incentivized aggression and speed to achieve brutal and bloody efficiency. Itâs no wonder then why Bloodborne still has such a large following behind it. Fans of Fromsoftware have hoped for a sequel or PC port year after year to largely disappointing results. But where the community shines is in its fanworks.Â
From fanart, comics, music, animations, and even fan-made video game spinoffs, the game has been shown a monumental amount of love since its debut in 2015. One of these fanworks was released back in 2022 and has since become one of the most famous pieces of fan-made content surrounding the game, this of course, being BloodbornePSX by LWMedia. An incredibly impressive feat of coding and art direction, the game serves as a âDemakeâ of Bloodborneâs first Yharnam segment, made to look like and play as if it were made on the very first PlayStation console. With some custom-made areas and an entirely unique boss to boot the perfectly paced experience is both a treat to fans who have been orbiting the game since its earliest days and new fans looking for the best and brightest fanworks to interact with.Â
The game has since gone on to be covered by a variety of news outlets all over the web, along with its creator receiving much-deserved attention for her efforts. One Lilith Walther (AKA b0tster on social media) holds the title of developer for the project. A long-time video game enthusiast and FromSoftware fan herself, sheâs had quite an impact on the community Iâm sure sheâs very proud to be a part of. Later in the article, weâve got an interview with Lilith herself about both Bloodborne PSX and her current project, âBloodborne Kartâ, but first, letâs talk a bit more in-depth about BBPSX.
youtube
(Official launch trailer for Bloodborne PSX, uploaded January 31, 2022 by LWMedia on Youtube)
Bloodborne PSX:
So, what exactly is Bloodborne PSX? To start, letâs answer what precisely a âDemakeâ is first. Demakes often have the goal of remaking the likeness of a game either stylistically, mechanically, or both, as if it was developed on retro/outdated hardware. Famous examples of Demakes include âThe Mummy Demasteredâ developed by Wayforward as a sort of tie-in to the 2017 film âThe Mummyâ in the stylings of a 16-bit run and gun adventure against armies of the undead, and âPixel Force Haloâ by Eric Ruth games which take the prolific XBOX franchise and shrinks it down to a Mega Man-esque platformer reminiscent of the NESâ 8-bit days. Demakes are intensely attractive looking, not only into the past of video games and their developments but just how creative developers can be with games that they love and appreciate. Bloodborne PSX hits as hard as a Demake can in my opinion, blending masterfully recreated graphics with perfectly clunky early PSX gameplay quirks that go above and beyond to make the game not only LOOK like it belongs on the nearly 30-year-old console but feel right at home on it as well.
(A screenshot depicting the player character âThe Hunterâ facing off against two fearsome Werewolf enemies. Screenshot sourced from the Bloodborne PSX Official itch.io page)
Gameplay:
Starting off with the masterfully recreated clunk in the gameplay, Bloodborne PSX âshows its ageâ by hearkening back to a time when being seamless just wasnât an option. Much like adventure action games of the past (and much UNLIKE its modern inspiration), youâll be cycling through your inventory delightfully more than youâd expect. Equipping keys, checking items, and even the trademark weapon transformations are all done through the wonderfully nostalgic menu and inventory screens. Taking one of the foundational parts of Bloodborneâs combat system and making it such a more encumbering mechanic is nothing short of sheer genius when it comes to ways to really make you feel like itâs 1994 again. On top of this, the Hunterâs movement itself has been made reminiscent of classic action titles. Somehow, both stiff enough to feel dated and fluid enough to make combat that same rush of bestial fun found in the original, it goes a long way towards the total immersion into that retro vibe the game sets out to give the player. Anyone who grew up with Fromsoftwareâs earlier titles like Armored Core and the Kingâs Field series will be very familiar with this unique brand of âwell-tuned clunkâ.
(A delightfully dated looking diagram showing off the controller layout for Bloodborne PSXâs controls. Image sourced from the Bloodborne PSX Official itch.io page)
Graphics:
Speaking of old Fromsoftware games, though, letâs talk about the absolutely bit-crushingly beautiful graphical work on display. As Iâm sure youâve seen from the videos and screenshots included in the article, BBPSXâs art style and direction are nothing short of perfect for what it aims to be. While playing, I couldnât help but notice every little detail (or lack thereof) in the environments meant to emulate the experience of a game made on 30-year-old hardware. Low render distances, chunky textures, blocky polygonal models, just the right amount of texture warp, it all blends together to create an atmosphere that I can 100% picture being shown off on the back of a jewel CD case with a T for Teen rating slapped into the lower corner. While playing, something rather specific that called out to me was the new way enemy names and health bars were displayed in the bottom right corner of the screen while fighting. As a big fan of the Kingâs Field games, this small detail went (probably too much of) a long way toward my love of how everythingâs meant to feel older. Other games trying to match the more specific feel of Kingâs Field, like âLunacidâ created by KIRA LLC, also include this delightful little detail, a personal favorite for sure.Â
(A screenshot depicting the second phase of Father Gascoigneâs boss fight, showing off the gameâs perfectly retro art style. Image sourced from the Bloodborne PSX Official itch.io page)
Sound design/Soundtrack:
But where would a game be without its sound and score? No need to fear, however, because Bloodborne PSX comes complete with a chunky soundscape that will make you want to check and see if your TV is set to channel 3. A haunting set of tracks played by fittingly digital-sounding MIDIs ran through filters to sound just as crackly as you remember backs up crunchy sounds of spilling blood with low-poly weaponry. Original sounds from Bloodborne have been used for an authentic sounding experience, but have also been given the CRT speaker treatment and sound like something you remember playing on Halloween 20 years ago. If you watched the launch trailer featured above then you know exactly what Iâm talking about. The Cleric Beastâs trademark screech and Gascoineâs signature howl after his beastly transformation have never sounded so beautifully dated, and Iâm here for every bit of it. Even the horrific boss themes we know and love from the original Bloodborne have been brought through this portal to the past. One of my favourite tracks, the Cleric Beast boss theme, might just sound even better when played on a 16-bit sound chip. It really cannot be understated just how much weight the sound design of the game is pulling. In my opinion, the only thing missing is that sweet sweet PSX startup sound before the game starts crackling through the speakers of a TV in the computer room.

Interview with the developer:
Before writing this article, I had the absolute pleasure and privilege of talking with Lilith Walther about some developmental notes and personal feelings about inspirations and challenges that can come with the daunting task of being a developer. Below are the nine (initially ten, but unfortunately, a bit of the interview was lost due to my recording software bugging out) questions I posed to Miss Lilith, along with her answers transcribed directly from the interview.Â
Iâd like to start this section of the article by saying Lilith was an absolute joy to talk to. During the interview, I really felt like she and I shared some common ground on some topics regarding how media can have an impact on you and what sorts of things come with video games as an art form. After some minor technical difficulties (and by that, I mean my video drivers crashed), I started off with something simple. The first question posited was: âWhat got you into video games initially?â Lilithâs response was as follows: âWhen I was a kid, the family member of a friend had a SNES lying around. I turned it on and didnât really understand. I was a guy on top of a pyramid, I walked down the pyramid, and some big ogre killed me. Later I learned that was A Link to the past.â and after a brief laugh continued, âA couple years later my parents got a Nintendo 64 with Mario64 and Ocarina of Time and that was it. Never put the controller down since then.âÂ
She then went on to describe what precisely about Nintendoâs first foray into 3D Zelda had hooked her. âIâve heard this story so many times. Itâs like youâre not even playing the game. Youâre just in the world hanging out in Kokiri forest collecting rupees to get the Deku shield, and the game expects you to! It was just, ârun around this world and explore,â and that really hooked me.â I couldnât agree more with her statement about her experience. Not just with a game as prolific as Ocarina of Time but many experiences from older console generations that could be considered âthe first of their kindâ, or at the very least some of the earliest. Lilith also described her first experience with a PlayStation console, stating: âLater on I got a PS2 which played PS1 games. I didnât end up getting a PS1 until around the PS3 era, so I guess Iâm a poser. I remember my sister bringing home Final Fantasy 9 when it was a relatively new game. If it wasnât my first PS1 game it was definitely my first Final Fantasy game. Of course I went back and played 8 and 7 afterwards.â A solid answer to a simple question.Â
The second question I asked was one starting to move toward the topic of Bloodborne PSX and its namesake/inspiration. Or at least the family of systems it was released on: âWhat PlayStation console was your favorite and why?â Lilithâs answer surprised me a bit. Not because I disagreed, quite the opposite, actually. But with such a big inspiration for her work being games from the PSX-PS2 generations, what followed was a pleasant bit of insight into one of her favourite eras of gaming, to quote: âI can give you two answers here.â To which I assured her she was more than welcome to, but she was set on having something definitive. âNo no Iâm only going to give you one answer. I can give you the correct answer that I donât want to admit, but it was the PlayStation 3. Itâs so embarrassing but I genuinely was hooked into the marketing of the whole âThe cell processor is the smartest thing in the worldâ and all that. It really seemed like the future of gaming and I was all about it. I think I owned an XBOX360 before but I did eventually get it and really enjoyed it. It took a couple years for some of the best games to come out but I really did.â A few examples she cited as being some of her most memorable experiences on the console were Uncharted 2, Journey, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, and Warhawk. All games Iâve seen on several top 5 and top 10 lists throughout my life within the gaming space. A delightful show of affection for a generation personally very dear to me as well, in which she ended the segment by declaring âHell yeagâ, a bit of a catchphrase sheâs coined online.
Getting into the topic proper, my third question was one about her personal relationship with Bloodborne: âHow did Bloodborne impact/appeal to your interests?â A question that received perhaps my favourite answer of the whole interview. From her response: âOh thatâs a big one. Going to the opposite end of the poser spectrum, I was a Fromsoftware fan before it was cool. One of the games I played religiously on my PS2 was Armored Core.â A statement which made more sense than perhaps anything else said during my time with her. âThen later in the PS3 era everyone was talking about Dark Souls, this was when I was in college. I finally caved and got it and saw the Fromsoftware logo and thought âOh itâs the Armored Core people!â I played and beat it, really enjoyed my time with it. I skipped Dark Souls 2 because everyone told me to hate it, I still need to go back to that one.âÂ
Itâs something I would recommend anyone who hasnât played Dark Souls 2 to go and do. âThen Bloodborne came out and I thought âAlright this is the new one, gotta play this oneâ and I was a huge fan of all the gothic stuff in the aesthetic. And how do I explain this, I do really like Bloodborne. I like the design, and the mechanical suite of gameplay, as a video-gamey video game itâs very good.â The tone shifted here to something a bit more personal. âBut as well, I was playing it at a specific time in my life. I came out in 2019, I know Bloodborne came out in 2015 but I was obviously just playing it non-stop. It was just one of my âcoming out gamesâ, you know?â For those who maybe donât understand the statement there, âcoming outâ is a very common term used within the Queer community to describe the experience of revealing your identity to those around you. Whether it be to family, friends, or co-workers, almost every queer person has some sort of coming out story to tell. Lilith is speaking in reference to her coming out as a trans woman. She elaborated: âObviously I can only speak for myself, but I just feel like when you make a decision like that, that part of my life just ended up seared into my brain, you know? Bloodborne was there, so now itâs just a part of me. And it definitely influenced some things about me. It was there because I was working on Bloodborne PSX at the time, but it had an impact on something Iâve heard a lot of other Trans people describe.â She went on to describe the concept of âComing out a second timeâ as sort of âfinding yourself more within your identityâ and becoming more affirmed in it. She described both Bloodborne and her development on Bloodborne PSX influencing large parts of her life, a good example being how she dresses and presents. As a trans woman myself, this answer delighted me to no end. I, for one, can absolutely 100% relate to the notion of media you experience during such a radical turning point in your life sticking with you. There are plenty of games, shows, music, and books that I still hold very near and dear to me because, as Lilith stated, they were there. All the right things at the right time.
Halfway through our questions, weâve finally arrived at one pertaining specifically to the development of Bloodborne PSX: âWhat are some unique challenges youâve faced developing a game meant to look/play like something made on retro hardware?â
Lilith answers: âSo thereâs two things, two big things. One is rolling back all of the quality of life improvements weâve gotten over the years in gaming. Not automatically using keys is always my go-to example.â Something as well I mentioned in my short talk about the gameâs gloriously dated feeling gameplay above. âThat was definitely very very intentional. Because itâs not just the graphics, right? It was the design sensibilities of the 90s. Bringing that to the surface was very challenging but very fun. Another big part was, since it was one of the first 3D consoles, I wanted to recreate the hype around the fact that âITS IN 3D NOW!â So if you go into your inventory youâll see all the objects rendered in beautiful 3D while they slowly spin as you scroll through them.â This is a feature I very much miss seeing in modern video games.Â
She continued, âI think the biggest one was the weapon changes. Bloodborneâs whole thing was the weapon transformations. Like, you could seamlessly change your weapons and work them into your combo and do a bunch of crazy stuff, and I kind of said âthat needs to go immediately.â So now you have to pause and go to your weapon and press L1 to transform it, that was extremely intentional. So once I had those three big things down it all just sort of fell into place. Like the clunky UI and the janky controls. You need jank and clunk, and I think thatâs why Fromsoft games scale down so nicely, because they are jank and clunk.âÂ
A point I couldnât agree with more. Despite all the modern streamlining and improvements to gameplay, Fromsoftâs ever-growing catalog of impressive experiences still contains some of that old-school video game stiffness weâve (hopefully) come to appreciate. She went on to make a point I was very excited to share here in the article, âIt was just a lot of trying to nail the feel of the games and not just the look, right? Like Iâm not trying to recreate a screenshot; Iâm trying to recreate the feeling of playing this weird game thatâs barely holding together because the devs didnât know what they were doing.â In my humble opinion, something she did an excellent job with.Â
Fifth on the list was a question relating to her current project, Bloodborne Kart, a concept initially drawn from a popular meme shared around social media sites like Tumblr when the buzz of a Bloodborne sequel was keeping the talking spaces around Fromsoft alight: âAnything to say about the development of Bloodborne Kart or its inspiration?â
Lilith answers: âSo first off Bloodborne Kart is less trying to be a simulation of a PS1 game and more just an indie game. Itâs not trying to be a PS1 game, I just want it to be a fun kart racer first. Starting off of course is Mario Kart 64, thatâs the one I played back in the day. But I looked at other games like Crash Team Racing and Diddy Kong Racing, but also stuff like Twisted Metal of course. I always used those as a template to sort of look at for design stuff like âhow did they handle what happens to racers after player 1 crosses the finish line.â The next portion of her answer was initially a bit confusing but comes across better when you consider certain elements present in BBKâs battle mode. âAnd also Halo, like for the battle mode. I had to do a battle mode and it kind of just bubbled to the surface. Split Screen with my sister was such a big part of my childhood. Thinking about Halo multiplayer while I was making the battle mode stuff.âÂ
Her answer to the previous question began to dip into the topic of our sixth question: âAre there any unique challenges or enjoyable creative points that go into making something like Bloodborne Kart?â
As she continued from her previous answer: âOne of the biggest quirks of the battle mode I had to figure out was how to tell what team you were on at a glance, and that came back to Halo again. I started thinking about how you could tell in that game and it hit me that the arms of your suit change to the color of whatever team youâre on. It was just something I never even thought of because itâs so seamless. So that gave me the idea to change the kart colours, and thatâs the most recent example of me pulling directly from Halo. Itâs wild how a small change like that can turn your game from something unplayable to something fun.â I would agree. Tons of small details and things you donât think about go into making seamless multiplayer experiences. Some of which we take for granted nowadays. She then made a point about one of the most challenging aspects of BBKâs development, âThe most challenging thing was definitely the Kart AI. AI is just my worst skill when it comes to game development among the massive array of skills you need to make a game. Itâs really hard to find examples of people coding kart driving AI, You know? You need to make a biped walk around you can find a million tutorials online but if you need to make something drive a kart, not really. I was really on my own there. A lot of the examples out there are very simulation oriented. Like cars using suspension and whatnot, but Iâm making a kart racer. So I started simple, I put a navpoint down and if it needs to turn left, turn left, if it needs to turn right, turn right. And I just kept adding features from there.â
Moving onto our last three questions, we started to get a little more personal. Question seven being: âWhatâs your favorite part of Bloodborne Kart so far?â
Her answer was concise in what she was excited about most, quote: âThe boss fights.â Short and sweet but she did elaborate. âTranslating a big part of Bloodborne is the boss fights. So I made a short linear campaign which is basically AI battles and races strung together. Some of those stages are just boss fights which are unique to the rest of the game. When you make a video game you sit down and you make all your different modes of interactions, and then you make a multi-hour experience mixing and matching all those different modes in more complicated ways. I think the most interesting part is when that style tends to fall away and it ends up building something entirely unique to that experience.â An example she gave was the infamous âEventide Islandâ in Breath of the wild, it being a unique experience where the gameâs usual modes of interaction are stripped or limited, forcing you into a more structured experience that ends up being a majorly positive one. âThatâs what the boss fights are in Bloodborne Kart. They do multiple game mechanics like a chase that ends in a battle mode. Like Father Gascoineâs fight where he chases you, and after you blow up his kart he turns into a beast and picks up a minigun.â That sounds absolutely incredible. Itâs very easy to see why sheâd pick the boss fights as her favorite element when theyâre clearly intended to be such unique and memorable experiences.Â
Our last two questions veer away from the topics of development proper and focus more on our dear devâs personal thoughts on the matter. Question eight posits: âWhatâs your personal favorite part of being a game developer?â
After some thought, she gave a very impassioned talk about something she considers to be the best part of the experience: âWhen people who arenât game developers think about game development they think of things like âoh well you just get to play video games all day and have funâ but itâs not! Except for the 2% that is, and itâs near the end of development. When all the pieces fall into place and you start actually âmaking the game.â Game development, especially solo, youâre so zoomed in on specific parts. Because youâre not making a game youâre programming software thatâs what making a game is. You spend months working on different systems and then you actually sit down and make a level, and you hit play and it you go âOh my god, I just made a gameâ. That part is what sustains me. Itâs magical. Thatâs the best part when it comes to true appreciation of the craft aside from the reception.â An answer that I donât think I couldâve put better if I tried.Â
My last question is one that I consider to be the question when it comes to interviewing anyone who works on video games. Perhaps a bit basic, but heartfelt nonetheless: âAnything to say to anyone aspiring to be a game developer?â
Lilithâs answer: âYes. Just do it. For real. This is what I did and it always felt wrong until I looked at more established devs echoing the sentiment. You cannot plan a game before youâve started making one. The example I always bring up is the team behind Deus Ex wrote a 500 page design document for the game and almost immediately threw it out when they started development. Just start! Youâre going to have unanswered questions and I think that trips people up. Donât start with your magnum opus idea, start with something simple and achievable. I feel like a lot of people set out with the goal of making a triple-A game, and thatâs good! But it canât be your first game. Game development is creating art, just like any other form of art, and itâs like saying âmy first drawing is going to be the Mona Lisaâ and it just doesnât work like that. You need practice and development, and itâs difficult to see that because games take so long and so much, so itâs definitely seen as a bigger undertaking. But itâs still art. Youâre still making mistakes and learning from them for your first project. Your next game will be better. View your career as a game developer as a series of games you want to make, and not just one big game.â A perfect response to an otherwise unassuming question.Â
Lilithâs passion and love for video games were reflected very clearly in every response she gave during my time with her. Her dedication and appreciation for the art form can be seen in every pixel of Bloodborne PSX, as well as the development logs and test builds of Bloodborne Kart. I really do think that the way she answered my final question speaks volumes to the type of attitude someone should take up when endeavoring to make art as intensive as a video game. Whether itâs fanwork of a game thatâs important to you or an entirely new concept, do it.Â

The first major solo museum presentation of fourth-generation Navajo weaver Melissa Cody (b. 1983, No Water Mesa, Arizona) spans the last decade of her practice, showcasing over 30 weavings and a major new work produced for the exhibition. Using long-established weaving techniques and incorporating new digital technologies, Cody assembles and reimagines popular patterns into sophisticated geometric overlays, incorporating atypical dyes and fibers. Her tapestries carry forward the methods of Navajo Germantown weaving, which developed out of the wool and blankets that were made in Germantown, Pennsylvania and supplied by the US government to the Navajo people during the forced expulsion from their territories in the mid-1800s. During this period, the rationed blankets were taken apart and the yarn was used to make new textiles, a practice of reclamation which became the source of the movement. While acknowledging this history and working on a traditional Navajo loom, Codyâs masterful works exercise experimental palettes and patterns that animate through reinvention, reframing traditions as cycles of evolution. Melissa Cody is a Navajo/DinĂ© textile artist and enrolled member of the Navajo/DinĂ© nation. Cody grew up on a Navajo Reservation in Leupp, Arizona and received a Bachelorâs degree in Studio Arts and Museum Studies from Institute of American Indian Arts, Santa Fe. Her work has been featured in The Barnes Foundation, Philadelphia (2022); Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, Bentonville, AR (2021); National Gallery of Canada, Ottawa (2019â2020); Museum of Northern Arizona, Flagstaff (2019); SITE Santa Fe (2018â19); Ingham Chapman Gallery, University of New Mexico, Albuquerque (2018); Navajo Nation Museum, Window Rock (2018); and the Museum of Contemporary Native Arts, Institute of American Indian Arts, Santa Fe (2017â18). Codyâs works are in the collections of the Stark Museum of Art, Orange, Texas; the Minneapolis Institute of Arts; and The Autry National Center, Los Angeles. In 2020, she earned the Brandford/Elliott Award for Excellence in Fiber Art.

A BioWare Guide on How to Murder a Fanbase
I have been a Dragon Age super-fan for almost fourteen years, now. I have played every game, with every DLC. I have read every novel, lore book, and every comic â yes, even the terrible ones that are better off forgotten. I have seen the anime film, the animated series, and the web mini-series. I have enjoyed all of these pieces of the franchise over and over, more times than I can count. So, make no mistake: the negativity youâre about to hear comes from a place of love for this fantasy world, developed by many creative people over the years. I would love nothing more than to see the resurrection of passion in the Dragon Age fandom again. But the unfortunate truth is, that resurrection is only needed because BioWare took the fandom out back and shot it in the first place.
In December 2018, three years after the release of Dragon Age: Inquisitionâs Trespasser epilogue DLC, BioWare first announced the then-untitled next Dragon Age game with a teaser trailer. At this point, most fans were anticipating this would mean within the next couple years, we would see the game. This assumption was based on the fact that Dragon Age: Inquisition was first announced in 2012, and released in 2014, with an extra year of development added last minute.
There have been dribbles of extra content since then, adding to the franchise. This was enough to keep some fans still breathing and interested. 2020âs Dragon Age: Tevinter Nights was a lovely anthology. 2020âs Dragon Age: Blue Wraith and 2021âs Dark Fortress were wonderful comics tying up the story started in Knight Errant. And 2022âs Dragon Age: Absolution was a well-animated series with an interesting cast of characters and story. But all these still left the fandom with a major question: What was going on with the next game? It was untypical of BioWare to be so secretive, in comparison to how they handled sharing information of the past games in the franchise. The only form of updates fans still have to go on is mostly just concept art and short stories, hinting that something must be in production. But why was the wait so long?
In 2015, the first version of the next Dragon Age began with a clear vision, clear scope of practice, and a reportedly happy developer team. Most gloriously in my book, there was no multi-player⊠but this did not align with the Electronic Arts typical money-mad schemes. EAâs push for âgames as a serviceâ meant they wanted to monetize all their games as much as possible, and therefore, they wanted them to be a live service â as Anthem demonstrated, that meant sacrificing things that are staples of good RPGs, like narrative and character choice. So in 2017, version one of the next Dragon Age was scrapped and replaced. This new version would have, in total or to at least some degree, an online portion of play.
There is one part of Schreierâs article, âThe Past and Present of Dragon Age 4,â that really sticks out to me, regarding this:
âOne person close to the game told me this week that Morrisonâs critical path, or main story, would be designed for single-player and that goal of the multiplayer elements would be to keep people engaged so that they would actually stick with post-launch content.â
The idea of splitting up components of a game into single-player and multi-player is a terrible idea, because it means that there would be a large bulk of content only accessible through online gaming; something many fans, like myself, are repulsed by. Even if I did enjoy it, I spent most of my life growing up with either no internet or shoddy internet incapable of playing online games. I know many rural people who are still in that position, losing more and more of their favourite gaming pastimes because they are locked out of the ability to play them. It is a disservice to hide content behind a wall like this, especially in a world that is so lore-heavy like Dragon Age. The news of multi-player in Dragon Age understandably upset many, and this is when I first noticed a large drop off in excitement over the next game.
However, in 2021, the failure of Anthem (multi-player) and success of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order (single-player) led the executives at EA to bend to the wishes of BioWare leadership and allow them to go back to the drawing board yet again on the next Dragon Age. This meant removing all multi-player content!
While I am very happy that there will reportedly be no multi-player in Dragon Age: Dreadwolf, I canât help but feel bitter and a little disgusted over the ridiculous development time spent on something no one but EA wanted in the first place. If it werenât for this foolishness, Dragon Age: Dreadwolf would be in our hands right now. Instead, itâs been in development hell for nearly nine years and counting. Nine years is a long time to expect fans to carry a torch for you through radio silence, but itâs no wonder BioWare has shared barely anything about the next game; itâs been in flux for so long, they likely havenât had anything concrete to show.
BioWare hurt its reputation even more when the news broke that the studio very suddenly laid off 50 people who were working on Dragon Age: Dreadwolf. This is pretty damning on its own, but BioWare took it a step further. Former developer Jon Renish shared a statement revealing that the studio was only willing to offer laid-off employees two weeks of severance per year of service, and denied health benefits. The denial of health benefits in particular is a pretty wild move for a studio with a reputation for âstress casualtiesâ. The latest news on this is that BioWare has still so far refused to negotiate better severance packages, leading to a lawsuit. The lawsuit originally had 15 former employees, but this dropped due to the fear of not being able to afford to pay their bills. So now, while EA sits on $400 million net income, the laid-off employees are struggling to buy holiday presents for their children. These horrid business practices are not to be ignored when accounting for a lack of faith in a studio. What kind of monsters reward workers who make your games special with vaguely reasoned lay-offs?
The latest news on the Dragon Age: Dreadwolf front from BioWare came early this month, December 2023, with a trailer⊠announcing a trailer that will come next summer⊠that will announce the release of the game. Supposedly. Maybe. Weâll see. But by this time, BioWare is something of a laughing stock of their own fandom. Reactions to the video released with a pretty map graphic and a few rendered locations were, from what I personally observed, mostly sardonic in nature. People have commented on the vapourware nature of the game, and like all vapourware, that leads to disintegrating trust.
Despite all this, people like Mary Kirby, (one of the veteran Dragon Age writers who was a victim of the layoffs,) said, âitâs bittersweet that Dreadwolf is my last DA game, but I still hope you all love it as much as I do,â encouraging fans to still support the game when it eventually is released. But after every misstep BioWare has taken, thatâs a tough sell now. Fans are finicky, RPG fans more so than others, one could argue. We have our favourites, and many of us stick to those favourites for life over our appreciation for the artistry â but that relationship between studio and fan should go both ways. EA and BioWare has betrayed that relationship, and it will take a hell of a lot to build it back up again, now.

THE PRONOUNS ESSAY IS FINALLY OUT!
(Are they non-binary? â Analyzing Undertale/Deltarune's trans representation.)
youtube
The quint essential video on Undertale and Deltarune's trans and non-binary representation. If any video is going to end nearly a decade of discourse/arguing over if these games have non-binary characters or not, it's probably this one!
(Oh what am I kidding people are still going to scream about the gender and pronouns discourse but one can hope!)
Every argument is tackled!
Someone on Reddit claiming that Legends of Localization supposedly confirms that the character's genders are up for interpretation? We analyses what the book actually says!
Someone says that they/them pronouns aren't exclusive to enbys? We'll take every other logical explanation for they/them pronouns (besides an enby gender idendity), and analyses almost every single they/them character in UT/DR, to see if their pronouns can be explained without a non-binary gender identity!! (Spoiler alert, most can't be explained without an enby gender!!!)
If someone tries to argue why Kris is non-binary, this video likely debunks their argument! It's probably one of, if not the most extensive video analyzing, and arguing for Undertale and Deltarune's Transgender/Non-Binary Representation!
This is a video I've spent many long and hard months making so I hope it makes a difference!
Below is a list of all of the sources, videos, and music used in the essay.
Sources:
First, while I donât use any of their content in the pronouns essay, I have to thank trans-utdr on Tumblr for cataloging most of the instances when characters are they/themed. Their blog was a great help in the creation of this video essay. https ://www.tumblr.com/trans-utdr
Also forgot to mention this, but Catticus helped out with the creation of the subtitles, so giving them credit for that.

Update on LGBT Information Removals from U.S. Government Websites
It has been observed that references to "LGBTQIA+" and similar acronyms have been shortened to "LGB" on several U.S. government websites. However, some agencies, such as the National Archives and the National Library of Medicine, appear unaffected.
When government agencies remove web pages, the standard procedure is to use a tool called Pagefreeze, which archives the content while indicating that the page is no longer actively maintained.
Pagefreeze Information: Pagefreeze for Government
Example of a site with Pagefreeze: Biden-Harris Administration Finalizes Rule to Strengthen Protections for Youth in the Child Welfare System â HHS
The Childrenâs Bureau within the Administration for Children & Families has taken the approach of marking pages as archived rather than removing them entirely:

Ever since OpenAI released ChatGPT at the end of 2022, hackers and security researchers have tried to find holes in large language models (LLMs) to get around their guardrails and trick them into spewing out hate speech, bomb-making instructions, propaganda, and other harmful content. In response, OpenAI and other generative AI developers have refined their system defenses to make it more difficult to carry out these attacks. But as the Chinese AI platform DeepSeek rockets to prominence with its new, cheaper R1 reasoning model, its safety protections appear to be far behind those of its established competitors.
Today, security researchers from Cisco and the University of Pennsylvania are publishing findings showing that, when tested with 50 malicious prompts designed to elicit toxic content, DeepSeekâs model did not detect or block a single one. In other words, the researchers say they were shocked to achieve a â100 percent attack success rate.â
The findings are part of a growing body of evidence that DeepSeekâs safety and security measures may not match those of other tech companies developing LLMs. DeepSeekâs censorship of subjects deemed sensitive by Chinaâs government has also been easily bypassed.
âA hundred percent of the attacks succeeded, which tells you that thereâs a trade-off,â DJ Sampath, the VP of product, AI software and platform at Cisco, tells WIRED. âYes, it might have been cheaper to build something here, but the investment has perhaps not gone into thinking through what types of safety and security things you need to put inside of the model.â
Other researchers have had similar findings. Separate analysis published today by the AI security company Adversa AI and shared with WIRED also suggests that DeepSeek is vulnerable to a wide range of jailbreaking tactics, from simple language tricks to complex AI-generated prompts.
DeepSeek, which has been dealing with an avalanche of attention this week and has not spoken publicly about a range of questions, did not respond to WIREDâs request for comment about its modelâs safety setup.
Generative AI models, like any technological system, can contain a host of weaknesses or vulnerabilities that, if exploited or set up poorly, can allow malicious actors to conduct attacks against them. For the current wave of AI systems, indirect prompt injection attacks are considered one of the biggest security flaws. These attacks involve an AI system taking in data from an outside sourceâperhaps hidden instructions of a website the LLM summarizesâand taking actions based on the information.
Jailbreaks, which are one kind of prompt-injection attack, allow people to get around the safety systems put in place to restrict what an LLM can generate. Tech companies donât want people creating guides to making explosives or using their AI to create reams of disinformation, for example.
Jailbreaks started out simple, with people essentially crafting clever sentences to tell an LLM to ignore content filtersâthe most popular of which was called âDo Anything Nowâ or DAN for short. However, as AI companies have put in place more robust protections, some jailbreaks have become more sophisticated, often being generated using AI or using special and obfuscated characters. While all LLMs are susceptible to jailbreaks, and much of the information could be found through simple online searches, chatbots can still be used maliciously.
âJailbreaks persist simply because eliminating them entirely is nearly impossibleâjust like buffer overflow vulnerabilities in software (which have existed for over 40 years) or SQL injection flaws in web applications (which have plagued security teams for more than two decades),â Alex Polyakov, the CEO of security firm Adversa AI, told WIRED in an email.
Ciscoâs Sampath argues that as companies use more types of AI in their applications, the risks are amplified. âIt starts to become a big deal when you start putting these models into important complex systems and those jailbreaks suddenly result in downstream things that increases liability, increases business risk, increases all kinds of issues for enterprises,â Sampath says.
The Cisco researchers drew their 50 randomly selected prompts to test DeepSeekâs R1 from a well-known library of standardized evaluation prompts known as HarmBench. They tested prompts from six HarmBench categories, including general harm, cybercrime, misinformation, and illegal activities. They probed the model running locally on machines rather than through DeepSeekâs website or app, which send data to China.
Beyond this, the researchers say they have also seen some potentially concerning results from testing R1 with more involved, non-linguistic attacks using things like Cyrillic characters and tailored scripts to attempt to achieve code execution. But for their initial tests, Sampath says, his team wanted to focus on findings that stemmed from a generally recognized benchmark.
Cisco also included comparisons of R1âs performance against HarmBench prompts with the performance of other models. And some, like Metaâs Llama 3.1, faltered almost as severely as DeepSeekâs R1. But Sampath emphasizes that DeepSeekâs R1 is a specific reasoning model, which takes longer to generate answers but pulls upon more complex processes to try to produce better results. Therefore, Sampath argues, the best comparison is with OpenAIâs o1 reasoning model, which fared the best of all models tested. (Meta did not immediately respond to a request for comment).
Polyakov, from Adversa AI, explains that DeepSeek appears to detect and reject some well-known jailbreak attacks, saying that âit seems that these responses are often just copied from OpenAIâs dataset.â However, Polyakov says that in his companyâs tests of four different types of jailbreaksâfrom linguistic ones to code-based tricksâDeepSeekâs restrictions could easily be bypassed.
âEvery single method worked flawlessly,â Polyakov says. âWhatâs even more alarming is that these arenât novel âzero-dayâ jailbreaksâmany have been publicly known for years,â he says, claiming he saw the model go into more depth with some instructions around psychedelics than he had seen any other model create.
âDeepSeek is just another example of how every model can be brokenâitâs just a matter of how much effort you put in. Some attacks might get patched, but the attack surface is infinite,â Polyakov adds. âIf youâre not continuously red-teaming your AI, youâre already compromised.â

English License of Viral Yuri Manga 'The Guy She Was Interested In Wasn't a Guy at All' Rumored
Sumiko Arai's popular Yuri manga Ki ni Natteru Hito ga Otoko Janakatta (The Guy She Was Interested In Wasn't a Guy at All) is allegedly licensed in English.

This information comes from manga publisher Denpa, which replied to a post on X (formerly Twitter) saying that the series was already licensed but that they could not say who due to legal reasons, as at the time of writing, the license has not been officially announced.

The manga follows high school student Aya Oosawa, a gyaru with an interest in rock music who develops a crush on a "boy" at a music store, not realizing that the "boy" is actually her female classmate Mitsuki Koga. As the girls grow closer at both the music store and at school, Mitsuki works to keep the truth of her two identities a secret.

Ki ni Natteru Hito ga Otoko Janakatta was initially posted to Twitter in April 2022, where it gained immense popularity for its story and striking visuals, including its use of black, white, and green coloring and character designs. The series is based on a 2021 manga Arai uploaded in 2021, although the original only had a few episodes before the relaunch.
The popularity of the series on Twitter led to Kadokawa picking it up for print publication. The first volume was released in April 2023, and the second in February 2024. The first volume sold over 150,000 copies within the first week of release. Additionally, the series won the 2023 Next Manga Award in the web manga category.

A drama CD is scheduled for release in Japan on March 27. The drama CD features Akari Kitou as Aya, Mariye Ise as Mitsuki, Kenjiro Tsuda, and Tasuku Hatanaka.
If the series is licensed in English, we can hopefully get an official announcement soon.

The World Socialist Web Site previously described Germanyâs 2025 federal budget as a âwar budget dictated by capital.â While billions are being spent on armaments and arms packages for Ukraine and Israel, vast cuts are being made to health and social services, including the planned cancellation of epidemic wastewater monitoring for COVID-19 and other pathogens.
The âWastewater Monitoring for Epidemiological Situation Assessmentâ (Amelag) went into operation in 2022 and examines wastewater samples from up to 175 sewage treatment plants nationwide, searching for gene copies of coronaviruses on a weekly basis. Even if it is not possible to determine the exact incidence rate, Amelag provides information on whether the infection rate is growing or declining and where outbreaks are occurring. Waves of infection can also be recognised at an early stage.
Especially since the abolition of mandatory personal testing and all other coronavirus protection measures, wastewater monitoring is one of the most informative tools for determining the status of the pandemic. The planned abolition of this vital public health program illustrates the aggression and criminality with which the ruling class is enforcing the âforever COVIDâ policy. It not only spreads the lie that the pandemic is over, it also seeks to eliminate all data that proves the opposite.
Amelagâs federal funding expires at the end of the year and there are no plans to extend it. A spokesperson for Health Minister Karl Lauterbach (Social Democrat, SPD) confirmed: âUnfortunately, no funds for the continuation of wastewater surveillance could be included in the governmentâs draft federal budget for the time being.â Although attempts were being made âin the course of parliamentary deliberations to obtain funding for continuation,â it is quite clear that these are just empty phrases. In government questions in the Bundestag (parliament), Lauterbach attempted to shift the funding to the municipalities, which are already in debt as it stands. âThe federal government is not responsible for every sensible expenditure,â he explained.
Last year, Lauterbach announced the cancellation of funding for research into Long Covid and the development of therapies and medicines to combat it. The cut from âŹ100 million to âŹ21 million was justified with claims of a âtight budget situation.â He thus made it clear where this cancelled money was going: into military armaments, the only area of the budget to be significantly increased. With regard to the continued operation of Amelag, the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) public health body explained that only âŹ5 million per year would be necessaryâthat is, 0.8 percent of the sum of Germanyâs most recent military support package for Ukraine.
A petition addressed to the Federal Ministry of Health on change.org under the title âStop the end of AMELAG! Germany needs modern epidemiologyâ already has over 4,500 signatures. It explains: âModern epidemiological surveillance is based on collecting data as quickly, comprehensively and unbureaucratically as possible. As the Sars-CoV-2 pandemic shows, modern surveillance systems are more necessary than ever in a globalised world affected by the overexploitation of natural resources.â The petition goes on to castigate the governmentâs abolition of all measures, noting, âContrary to the experience of modern medicine, for the first time in human history we are relying on individual responsibility to overcome a pandemic.â
Many signatories of the petition write in their explanatory statement that the COVID-19 pandemic is not over and that they themselves have already fallen ill with Long Covid.
Just how drastic the situation is, is also shown by the figures for the rising autumn coronavirus wave. According to the RKIâs latest weekly report on acute respiratory illnesses (ARI), 7.4 million people are currently suffering from acute respiratory diseasesâa particularly high level for this time of year. COVID-19 directly accounts for around 22 percent of these. However, it is quite clear that the unhindered spread of COVID in recent months and years has weakened the immune systems of millions of people. As a result, they also fall ill more easily with other forms of ARI.
COVID-19 currently accounts for 17 percent of the number of severe ARI cases, although there are clear age differences, with COVID-19 accounting for 30 percent of severe respiratory illnesses in the over-80 age group.
Wastewater levels of COVID have sharply increased since mid-September. Last week, 239,000 gene copies per litre of wastewater were measured, while in the previous week the figure was 185,000. The viral load has doubled in the last four weeks. According to GrippeWeb, which collects data on the incidence of infection based on information from a test group of volunteers, the estimated COVID incidence is currently around 1,100.
The number of hospitalisations is also rising slightly and now stands at a 7-day incidence of four hospitalisations per 100,000 inhabitants. The number of deaths rose to 129 last week, compared to around 80 per week in the previous weeks.
The dominant variant is currently KP.3.1.1, which accounts for 41 percent of infections. The recombinant sublines now account for 27 percent, with virologists estimating that XEC has around twice the growth advantage of KP.3.1.1 and will be the dominant variant in winter.
In the UK, British GP Helen Wall reported in a recent interview with the Manchester Evening News that she has observed a difference between XEC and previous infections in her practice. Anyone infected with this variant should be prepared to feel âknocked out.â She explained: âPrevious symptoms were more like cough and cold symptoms, but at the moment Covid seems to be really knocking people out.â
The long-term effects of COVID-19 are also being increasingly discussed. Broadcaster SWR recently published a report on the first anniversary of the post-COVID outpatient clinic in Mainz. The internist interviewed, Christoph Lembens, reports that more than 1,000 patients had already been treated in these twelve months. The appointment diary was still fully booked well into next spring.
Lembens estimates that around a fifth of his patients have not recovered from their COVID infections. This not only affects older people with previous illnesses, but also many younger people. Those affected suffer from exhaustion and fatigue. Some of them also have severe circulatory fluctuations, for example an extreme drop in blood pressure as soon as they stand up, which can lead to their simply falling over.
For many, it gets even worse: they may also have major muscular problems, so that some sufferers are dependent on a wheelchair. Many have cognitive impairments, including âbrain fog,â making it extremely difficult to concentrate or memorise things.
These reports illustrate the criminal nature of the ruling class âforever COVIDâ policy, which has condemned hundreds of millions globally to suffer long-term damage to their health so that profits continue to flow.

positive vent art we drew a few nights ago that i forgot to post lol. please excuse the long ramble about it beneath the cut

lifeâs been really difficult these past couple of years, and 2022 was the last time we felt truly safe and happy for a consistent period of time. for so long, we had been yearning for that happiness again, feeling nauseated by nostalgia for that time in our life.
but now? iâm happier than i was back then. coming back to tumblr was the best decision i couldâve made. iâve met some of my closest friends at the beginning of this year, and ive gained so many in person connections as well as of late. hardly a day goes by without me getting out of the house with friends now!!
not to mention, i have a job that works extremely well for me. working from home was scary because i didnt want to be stuck inside, but like. web development is so fun?? and i only work mornings so i have the whole day afterwards. i dont feel burnt out from work at all, i dont dread it ... sure some projects are Tedious and Suck but im so happy with where im at
i made the best decision of my life last year. it was horrible at the time, it caused my entire system to utterly collapse and have to rebuild itself, but it created a domino effect that allowed me to heal and get better. shit's still tough sometimes, but every time something bad happens, my friends, family and partners are always there for me and ultimately? i leave the negative situation feeling happy and grateful, because the people i love are there to support me.
also to all of my mutuals followers. i appreciate you all. like even if we've never really spoken, your support really means the world to me and i love seeing your silly little pfps in my notifs lol
and if any of you actually read this. bro i care you so hard fr
