What is Perfect?

Nothing. Everything and everyone is flawed but does that always have to be a bad thing? Flaws like hunger, poverty, and chipped nail polish are all bad and should be fixed. But, flaws like being over a size 4, pale, or not being a fan of working out, etc. (these are based on society’s ideas about flaws as it relates to their perception of beauty, not me personally), are only flaws if we believe they are flaws. Nobody is perfect in the flawless sense of the word but we are all perfect in the flawed sense of the word.

Be gentle this is my first blog....here it goes... 

A little introduction to myself. I am a 34 year old mother of two. I am married to my high school sweet heart of almost 14 years. Together we have a 15 year old son and a 10 year old daughter who we both love to the moon and back. We both work full time to ensure a roof is over our heads and bills are paid. We laugh hard and love even harder. On paper we look like the “perfect family”. I am here to tell you we are not. This is my blog to you.

Do you ever feel like everything around you is falling apart? That you are failing MISERABLY at this thing called life?? Do you ever sit there looking on your social media and envy the mom on there posting just the perfect pictures of little Jimmy and his 8 dozen individually decorated Spongebob cookies she baked herself in between her yoga and kick boxing classes??

I am here to remind you....you are good mama! You are doing great! And above all else, you are not alone! You may be surprised that the woman you are envying on social media might just be envying you right back. We are built to a standard above the rest however we are always striving subconsciously to be better. There is an internal drive that pushes us to look for “what more can I do?”. Please keep that fire however do not let it burn out the rest of your goodness! You are doing awesome! Keep it up!

You're stuck with them being your idea of perfect and now you have to wait for someone to come along and outshine them but you don't want anyone to, you just want that person you consider perfect.

What's Perfect

Anne Marie's new song, 'Perfect to me' did not only make me dance on my feet and scream "YAAASSS RELATABLE AF!" But it made me think, think about the question 'what is indeed perfect to me?' And why does society have these stereotypes regarding what is perfect and what's not? "I am okay with not being perfect cause that's perfect to me" I do have some stereotypes myself because as a teenager at some point I have thought that having the ideal Barbie body is perfect even though I know deep down that, that doesn't matter, what matters is who I am as a human being; but when society looks at you in a certain way you can't help but think about what being perfect to the society is. But I try and try to keep these fucking stereotypes as far away from mind as possible because all they do is give me anxiety and life is too short to think about others. Perfect to me is also little moments, little moments of joy that we share with the people we love. With whom I can not only be myself but also be my crazy, weird and vulnerable self! Perfect to me is an evening with a good book that will tear my heart in pieces and stamp on it but I know it's worth the tears and runny nose. Being who you are is perfect. You don't have to look good, you don't even have to be a great person, just be you and be happy and loving. What perfect means to me, to my parents, to you, to Anne Marie, to Bella Hadid, to Harry Styles, to a nine year old maybe totally different but all of them ate valid and have their personal touch to it. Because of course how can my perfect be your perfect and vice versa. A cliche but I have to say, nothing (well except for maybe Oreos) and nobody is perfect society and by that I mean us people have set these bars ourselves of what perfect means. We all have our own meaning of perfect and that's what makes you perfect.

What does perfect mean to you?

I found some who answered this question somewhere else. I wanted to share them with you. You are more than welcome to answer the question - your meaning is just as important! 

They say practice makes a man perfect. The doctors do medical practice all their life. The lawyers do legal practice all their life. Do they ever become perfect?

I think nothing is actually perfect, but everything put together makes something which is perfect: the universe.

Perfect to me is a goodnight hug and kiss from my granddaughter. That means all is well with her.

I think being perfect is being yourself. Don't let other people bring you down. I mean, I'm 13 with a pink, orange and green Mohawk and I have safety pins and chains on my jeans and I always get dirty looks on the streets - I carry myself with confidence, knowing that as long as think I'm perfect, I am.
