Time is flying and soon, it’ll be time to throw down the gauntlet and show up for your favourite ship! On September 6th to September 7th, 2025, I am declaring it to be TAMSAND VS. TAMCIEN WEEKEND. Two days of creating content to represent your favourite ship and prove which ship has the most loyal, dedicated and whimsical fans*.

*For legal reasons, this is a joke and entirely friendly. We are all apart of the Tamlin Community, which is why I think this could be really fun to do.

HOW WILL IT WORK?

Since this event will be run on my personal blog, make sure to tag me and use either #team tamsand or #team tamcien. Feel free to add your regular tags for more visibility. Once I see your post, I’ll reblog it and add points to your team based on the point system below.

You can create for both. I will give points to both ships accordingly, sigh, even if I’m silently judging you double agents.

Hello, Dungeons and Daddies fandom, and welcome to the Nark Smooch Fest!

This event will be a week long, ending on ✨Valentine's Day ✨. There is a collection, which you will find in this post. Below you'll find information about the event, but if you have any questions feel free to send an ask or a DM to this blog or to the main dndoodsevents blog.

What: A weeklong, fluffy Nark event dedicated to first-kiss fics, meet cutes, and pure, tooth-rotting fluff.

All works must be centered on the ship of Lark Oak/ Nick Close | Nicholas Foster.

The minimum required word count for written works is 100, and there is no maximum. No AI is permitted. Any rating is allowed, as long as it's tagged properly. All fanworks MUST be Nark-centric.

The worst part about posting to AO3 is having to tag my fics. Idk why, but that is just so fucking hard for me to do. Like I never feel like I'm doing it right. I've read guide after guide for how to do it, but it just doesn't click in my brain. Does this ship which is not the main focus feature *enough* for me to tag it? This thing only features briefly in one chapter out of 40 chapters, do I tag it or just put the cw in the chapter notes? This character features a lot, but the work isn't *about* them, so if I tag them, will people be annoyed? I don't know I don't know I don't know!! Why is this so hard for me? I wish I could just leave the tags blank on everything, but that's not doing things properly, and people won't be able to find my work if I did things that way, so I know I *can't* leave things blank. But damn, it's so hard and so annoying.

And then sometimes you get people who don't even read the tags that you *did* put bitching at you for something that was in the tags! Or you get a person that will read a 217k fic and they'll leave a comment and the only thing they'll say is that you should've used a certain tag that you don't think even fits your fic, actually.

Like fuck all the way off with it. I hate tagging. It's infuriating. It makes me actively dread posting a new fic. I'm not exaggerating, there's been times where I've held off on posting a completed fic and just left it in my drafts folder for months because I couldn't figure out how to tag it, even though it was otherwise complete. That's awful!! That's infuriating!! That sucks!!

Fuck tagging things. I hate it.

hmm i don't really know that i write angsty endings. there are a few from past lives not on my current ao3 i suppose

i think it's this fic swan song, which is a post-canon, shippy take on the netflix show "the society" and it's extra happy (to me) bc the show ended up being cancelled shortly after i published this 😭 so in my mind, my fic is their happy ending haha

my choices get questioned sometimes which can be annoying but no one really hates intentionally or in a personal way

what peem did in the car trying to convince phum to part their ways is what the youth calls ✨a yap sesh✨ (he tried ig) (this is what this post is as well)

we're probably never seeing phum use those things he bought ever, he'll just keep hanging around in his engineer shirt

peem has so many ppl ready to square up for him including his auntie and he is recognised by tan as someone who loves his friends very much (which makes the fact tan has sold him away for time with his crush TWICE even worse lmao)

i don't really get phum's insistence on not telling anyone about being phum's "slave", not even tan who got him into the mess or his best friend but it's just his ego ig (aside from plot reasons)

i find pun more relatable now - tags along for the funsies and gets happy around fire

not convinced the beans and pork scene wasn't an ad but im not sure how cause i didn't clock any labels

the scene where peem brings in food and laughs with q feels like improv or breaking left in lol

fai missing cause of upset stomach might be some sort of foreshadowing and i'm a bit worried bout her

the professor is handsome <3 and could pas off as chimon's sibling in a show

q absorbing those noodles was very satisfying idek why lol

peem and q's friendship is in the background but the show still constantly makes it a point that they are really good and loyal best friends

i thought "oh theyre gonna make the sharing food a thing in the future" so when boys showed up i was like "ah, we're doing it immediately? bit boring" but then he didn't share!! joey never shares food!! i think he will in the future though, him being a foodie is a constant thing so i'm guessing we're using it as a sign of compromise in the name of love or smth

satang playing this type of character felt a bit much in the first episode but i think he's getting more comfortable with the role as the show progresses and it look more natural; i'm glad his character isn't the googly eyed mentee and he actually teases a lot and snaps back but knows when to stop playing because q isn't the most patient person. (matt having to jump in like "bro he's serious" was so funny cause i hadn't clocked that either hahah)

the way we can see q flustered at certain points but seemingly unbothered at others is fun because his reactions aren't entirely predictable at this stage as we're still getting to know him. also it's mad cute when he clearly doesn't know what to do with himself

idk how he hasn't asked toey bout why he's in art yet, ig they're just now starting to properly get to know each other

toey took one look at q's back and decided "that's a cool ass aura to base my entire future around!" and tbh that's very young adult of him

q regularly asking about peem's work being submitted, he's honestyly worried <3

the way i cheered for peem burping in phum's face and then went "oh he came back :(" bahah

phum is definitely already planning his day and schedule around peem, i don't think he'd ever tell his friends because he wants to actually keep it going so one of the reasons is to not run into his faculty friends including tan and the second is to have lunch with his unconscious crush AND I AM VERY HAPPY WITH THIS STUPIDITY

thought peem could overhear the convo behind the car and realise what he was exchanged for but nope, he just dipped; i think that might be a plot point for later

phum not knowing tan has a crush on fang is so weird cause he genuinely acted like he knew while taunting tan, i don't have an explanation for that

fang is their p'!! i was so conviced he was the little brother, ig because of his big round eyes and the way phum acted all protective (that just makes phum cuter tbh)

what is the age difference between bar owner and prof cause i ship it

it took me a bit to realise the nongs were there instead of the full arts gang and i was glad to see toey and q together (also the green sweater is beautiful on toey, hope it makes a comeback)

i was ready to believe fang had some sort of falling out with tan with the way he treated him but tan beaming and enjoying a dreadful setting (no talking, awkward sitting around in a bar with mid music and alcohol) shows that man is glowing just from being in fang's presence (i hope he reaches ridiculous levels of lame for him)

i was screeching when i realised where things were going with wasted peem and seeing him n the bench outside had me exctaticcc (ofc he didnt book a taxi. and ofc they cant just order one for him noww could they)

phum cockblocks but he kinda has to cause there's no reason for fang to be there otherwise; once the ridiculous proposition of him taking peem home comes up he doesn't really fight it at all - he wants to be with peem, sure, but i think he's also pretty okay with tan and fang being a thing

the way i was screaming "just buy the flowers rich boy!!! he wants to go home" and then the kid went to get more lol

ofc he couldnt just leave the flowers in the backseat, peem just has to have them in his lap.. and the seatbelt scene was so predictable but it's too much of a classic with all "figuring things out" parts of a romance that i can't complain

it makes absolutely zero sense aside from people liking people (cause fang knows what he's doing too) that phum would drive peem to his house - a place where tan has sleepovers at all the time and phum hasn't been to before. fang is his brother and they can sleep at the same place as well even if they don't live together but nope. also THAT CAR HAS EMPTY BACKSEATS, if phum wanted to he would've forced them to ride with him to keep an eye on tan

fang is probably planning to launch a big revenge attack on peem and that'd be so funny, those four can get way too entangled, i could get DRAMA out of their plans and schemes (this show is more hidden agenda than hidden agenda was)

tan's energy with fang reminds me of the duracell bunny lmao it's late at night and they've had a few drinks but his mind and body are all focusedon wooing fang (who is playing nonchalant but has probably had a crush on tan as well)

also no way he was just gonna leave tan on the street lol

toey and q aleady work so well together, toey knows his effect on q more or less and q doesn't shy away from being at least a bit vulnerable as of rn; i think they can be one of the best if not the best couple if they have a proper storyline; im certainly enjoying it the more than i thought i would

the fake blush on both toey and peem is ridiculous esp up close but ig they're cartoonishly drnk anyways

Katarina comes from a rich family and is a bit of a spoiled only child. After the death of her parents she became obsessed with the idea of legacy- that if people remember your name and your stories that you are never truly dead. With her inheritance money she could have gotten the best ship and the best crew money could buy- but that doesn’t make for a good story. So she started off with ship constructed by a fishman who got roped into being her first crew mate. Teume had no desire to be a first mate which worked out when they crash landed onto the island that Cecilia was on- taking her in as the next member. Altair came into the picture when the three of them quickly realized none of them knew how to properly read a map and some of that inheritance money went to bribing Altair, a seasoned navigator, to take a chance on their rag tag little group.

As for the Lore-Lore fruit- it is a paramecia type fruit that allows the user to bring a story they have written to life. Each story can only be used once and it’s power is directly correlated to how detailed and well written the story is. How long the story can stay going depends on the users stamina- the more complex and long one is the harder it is to keep going. The words also have to be physically written down so any damage to Katarina’s journal is a blow to her abilities.

When a story is activated she can channel characters and/or setting- calling allies to her aid and changing the battlefield. She has as much control over the characters as any author has- sure you can push them to do something but it has to be logically in character for them to do. Settings are a bit easier in general, calling forth terrain for defenses is typically Kat’s go to move in combat situations.

do you respond to comments? Sometimes! I generally respond pretty regularly to comments on new fics I've written and I try to respond to long comments regardless of when they're left.

What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? Okay. Ironically, given how much I love angst, I hate angsty endings. It has to be i've got a feeling (this was meant to be) (Avengers) which isn't properly an ending, because this is my only unfinished work on AO3. It was intended to continue and have them meet when they were older and fall properly in love then.

What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? I tend to skew towards happy endings except when I write dark endings, but maybe (don't pay no mind to) the demons they fill you with fear (Avengers) just for the sheer sense of hope?

Do you get hate on fics? I got some flames when I was younger for a variety of reasons, most often when I wrote material that I wasn't really old enough to handle respectfully or correctly yet and people got (rightfully if rudely) angry. The end of 2023 had a weird rash of people nitpicking minor canon details with me though.

Do you write smut? Yes.

Do you write crossovers? I was about to say no but I literally linked a Pacific Rim/Avengers crossover earlier so. I suppose I do.

Have you ever had a fic stolen? Not that I know?

Have you ever had a fic translated? Yes, someone translated Adventures in Social Media into chinese, and I think one other story though I'm a loose ends trying to think of what it was.

Have you ever co-written a fic before? Yes! Die on Every Hill (Dragon Age: Inquisition). It was a delightful experience.

What’s your all time favourite ship? Look this depends on everything from what i ate for dinner to the phase of the moon. I am a multi-shipper and i will die a multi-shipper.

What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will? I've gone over these I think twice recently so skip. (But it's the 10 BILLION WORDS ABOUT KEL RIP)

What are your writing strengths? I think I'm good at characterization and at, idk, mimicking author voice? So that the tone feels like the original material, where appropriate.

What are your writing weaknesses? I really, really struggle to write if I'm not ✨inspired✨ in the sense that I... simply do not write if I'm not inspired. I'm trying to do better about that this year.

Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic? I usually try to write it in the original language or the anglicized version of the original language and build up the appropriate context around it so that it's clear what the character is saying. Otherwise, italics.

First fandom you wrote for? Arguably Narnia, in that my fourth grade standardized test essay was basically Narnia meets the horror genre fanfiction, as seen by a nine-year-old. The first I ever posted was Harry Potter, Ron/Hermione. I still have it. It is... so incredibly bad. I believe I was about ten at the time I wrote it.

I make it a point to diligently tag my original posts, but I don't often have the spoons required to properly tag all my reblogs—as much as I'd like to be the person who writes walls of admiring tags and hypes my mutuals up. So if I reblog your post, please imagine me incoherently screaming as I do so, because that's probably what I'm doing in my mind! Here's a list of all my FFXIV characters! I don't roleplay as such, and I only write for myself really, but I love the idea of my OCs interacting with others' OCs! I'm also very embarrassingly into wolcred ships, and both my own wolship (Arley x Thancred) and all my reblogs reflect that. Be cringe be free—you get it.

All my follows, likes, asks, replies, etc, will come from my main blog, @gigarchomp, since that is just how Tumblr works. Please don't hesitate to interact with either blog if you ever feel like it! I'd love to hear from you.

As for the person behind the blog, well, first of all I'm a queer person of color. Then I'm also AFAB, but gender non-conforming, but also my pronouns are "she/her" (if anyone wants to talk shit lol) because I've used those my whole life, but also but also I love and support all my trans/nb/genderqueer homies, and so on and so forth. Lastly, I'm also your typical Gen Z youth tormented by the Horrors (of which depression, anxiety, and ADHD are the ones diagnosed) so there is that, too. Whew. Yeah. You know how it is.

With all of that said, maybe the next part goes without saying, but just in case: This blog is anti-bigotry of any kind. And anti-fascism. And anti-totalitarianism and anti-authoritarianism and therefore anti-censorship (but we tag and warn responsibly in this house!). Anti-war (except class war). Anti-cops, anti-violence, anti-prisons. Pro-rehab, pro-choice, pro-agency. Pro-freedom of identity and speech, pro-socialism, pro-doing one's best to be a decent person and member of society. Eh. You get it.

Basically, while I may not be the wokest or most politically correct person on the block (not nearly enough spoons to stay up to date with news and social debate), "thou shalt err on the side of compassion" are words I like to live by.
