I wouldn’t say I’m more eloquent or smarter but I’ve been having brain rot about this idiot for three days and I have to talk about him!

Kizaru is truly a pathetic wet mop of a character, and I believe that all of Oda’s characters re intentional to reflect a certain part of the world. ESPECIALLY the officers in the Marines.

We’ve got Garp who’s always talking big about changing the system from the inside but he has been inside that system for nearly 50 years and has changed absolutely NOTHING. 💀 A symbol for the good that allows evil thrive by just doing nothing.

There’s Akainu who doggedly believes that he’s doing the right thing. But in his attempt to burn down evil and narrow it to simple shades of black and white, he is also destroying all the good things of the world and therefore achieving zero success when it comes to ‘Making the world a better and safer place.’

Aokiji/Kuzan is a war criminal. He has done terrible things in the name of the government and justice, but he represents the population that is strong enough to grow the balls needed to walk away. He is staring all of those atrocities in the face, he is accepting them and whatever consequences come from them. Not only has he swallowed the hard pill that he is wrong, he is swallowing the even harder pill of figuring out what he wants to do about it, even after already dedicating so much of his life to the wrong doctrine.

Now Kizaru (I fear this will be long). Kizaru is at the Kuzan stage. He is at the stage where he realizes that everything around him is wrong or bad and so much of their justice is a lie. And although he knows this, he does not accept this.

To put it in simple words, he is running away. 💀

He is not Akainu who doesn’t even realize that his ‘justice’ is just blind dictatorship. Kizaru is fully aware of the people they are hurting, and he’s not cold about it either. Hurting people hurts him too. Yet he will still hurt them. Why? Because he has spent give or take thirty years hurting people.

And to make the choice to turn around, to turn away from that beautiful painted fake lie of justice, and to face the ugly bitter misery that is your legacy…. Ooooh it is tough.

Agh, my thoughts are spinning in circles. I don’t know if I can say it right.

See, he knows the predictable very straightforward path of a Marine which is kill, kill, kill, fight, fight, fight until karma finally catches up with him. He gets paid a decent salary, he has a scheduled time of work and expectations, he has a team that will sort of back him up no matter what (because the Marines is a cult that suffers together). As chaotic as it is to be a Marine, it is an easy and very predictable lifestyle (or at least it used to be).

So knowing all this, when he looks ahead and sees a path where he does not obey the rules of this easy life, it opens to a rainbow of….darkness. 💀 (which is interesting for a man of light). He has obeyed the rules his entire life, because the rules are predictable. Because he has them so memorized that he knows the exact punishment for each time he steps out of line. It is comfortable, it is complacency, it is knowing a system is corrupt and believing there is nothing you can do about it.

Because he KNOWS, the second he steps out of line, the second he disobeys, with his power level, he becomes public enemy number one. 😅😂 And this sense of self preservation is selfish but selfishness is not his inherent trait. His outlook on life seems to be

“I know the rules and I’m following them. If everyone else conveniently did that as well, then I would not need to hurt anyone.”

That’s the first thing he says to Sentomaru. He says they should not have been studying the void, because now they’ve become criminals, and he cannot overlook criminals. It is a clockwork of years spent in a corrupt system and the comfort of the predictability of that system.

Kizaru is the system of people in power that push the narrative that they are powerless. His category is almost as bad as Garp. Garp is worse because he’s not changing shit, he’s actively recruiting, and he’s got family constantly affected by the Marines. I genuinely do not know what Garp is still the Marines. 💀 He should just leave!

That aside. Kizaru seems to have…nothing else going for him. And he’s just used his hands to destroy the only other thing that he could fall back to.

The path of reconstructing learnt bigoted views is not easy. It’s even harder treading that path alone, or as a criminal who will end up right where he started (fighting the friends that he made in the Marines). And Kizaru never fights to kill anyone. All of his interactions with the other characters, he only fights to kill when he is ordered to. But he’ll have to fight to kill as a pirate cause his former friends would definitely be fighting to kill.

The open seas is a place with no support. And there is no possible way that Kizaru will leave the Marines without a bounty on his head. 😂😭 I’m surprised they haven’t drawn one up for Kuzan yet with the way the World Government is.

So yes, he did kill Vegapunk because it was easy, because he’s always chosen the easy thing to do that will cause him the least amount of stress.

But here is the kicker.

This time, it wasn’t easy. This time, even after completing the job, he is still stressed. And now he’s going to live with that stress and that memory and that knowledge for the rest of his life. Some say this might finally be the straw to break the camel’s back and ooooh lord I hope so. I hope this decision haunts him worse than Ohara haunted Kuzan. I hope he can’t close or open his eyes without thinking of Vegapunk, because finally, for the first time in his entire life (because most of his friends are in the Marines or work for the Marines), finally Kizaru has become a victim of the system that he has so doggedly served. And it is eating him alive.

Kizaru is a very fascinating character and I love seeing this example of this type of person.

In the beginning of this arc, he also admitted that he's just a tool of the government and the celestial dragons. It's like, he's fully aware of what he is to the government and to people. He's fully aware of all the atrocities they commit and he commits in their name. He's fully aware that most of what they, and he, do and stand for is wrong and awful. He just doesn't care. Or at least just doesn't care enough to do anything or even think for himself. He's lazy. (Yeah that's the whole thing with his character). Dangerously lazy. It seems like he does have feelings on what the government does, like he doesn't like/want it, he cares about these people who he considers friends, he's sad to see them get hurt. But he chooses to be "a cog in the machine" and never stand up for anyone or fight back.

He's knowledgeable of all the horrible shit the government does, doesn't even like it himself, but does nothing. Actually he does worse than nothing, he does whatever they want him to without complaint, and because it's easier I guess? Easier than fighting back? Easier to just do what you're told than fight for people's lives.

So this hits home for me because I am definitely an enjoyer of the shows you mentioned here and even more so, let's see if I can tap into my nostalgic memories and throw out some shows the Kings and this MC would be into.

Satan would definitely watch shows with MC that have action in it along with mindless brain rot gore. So for the day time, we're talkin' the animated batman series, superman, anything with superhero marvel or dc characters and then at night? Super Jail, Mr.Pickles, Robot Chicken 💀 HELL Celebrity Deathmatch? He's literally out here asking MC or his nobles to tape certain episodes in case he misses anything.

Mammon is fine with whatever MC wants to watch. He literally has no preference but funny enough, he likes those old school shows most like The Jetsons, The Flintstones, anything that would show up on Boomerang that has that classic 70's animation style for cartoons. Yes, Scooby Doo would be one of them. As for adult shows...anything that involves a parody on reality, Oblongs, Mission Hill, (that genre of cartoons that aired late at night on MTV)

If MC can even get Beelzebub to sit in front of a TV long enough, he MIGHT be interested in something that has short run times. So The Amazing World of Gumball that has short mini episodes, same with Brandy and Mr.Whiskers, Uncle Grandpa, Fish Hooks. And at night time, the only thing MC can get him to pay attention to are shows with bright colors and brain rot, so again Super Jail, Squidbillies for nonsense shit, Robot Chicken, 12 OZ. Mouse, The Drinky Crow Show, China, IL. But, a show that has a place in his heart? The Buzz on Maggie 🥺

Leviathan is trickyyyyy, as he finds most things regarding watching TV instead of reading unproductive and a waste of time. But if you were to ask him, he's watching more "sophisticated" media. The Addams Family (black and white), The Munsters, and surprise surprise MC got him into Daria. Adult shows? Surprisingly, he may not act like it, but he does have two shows he likes to watch with MC, Space Ghost Coast to Coast, and Harvey Birdman 💀 He won't tell MC why he likes those shows, but he just does and gets upset if anyone interrupts the two of them watching either one.

Lucifer? TV? Why? He very much prefers quiet time because he already has Gamigin begging him to watch old shows. But for MC, he doesn't mind anything that isn't too loud, so no sudden blasts or explosions or yelling. Out of all the shows MC has shown him, he really likes Rocko's Modern Life and Courage the Cowardly Dog where he doesn't mind him yelling because "he has a reason to so this is fine". For any adult shows, he simply can't be bothered to watch them, saying he could "just ask someone to tape what happens in Abyssos" and he'd watch that. lmaooo

Belphegor? Oh buddy let's get cookin'. Not only is he watching Sonic X, Kirby Right Back At Ya!, Sailor Moon, and Yugi-Oh/Digimon....but he's got MC taping Danny Phantom, Fairly Oddparents, Gravity Falls, any show with lore. Adult shows? Remember Toonami? Adult Swim? All kids out of the pool? He coined that phrase. He made sure most of that shit would come on late a night even if he didn't get to see it. Aqua Teen Hunger Force is brain rot he enjoyed the most. He was also into lost media like "Perfect Hair Forever" and "Super Milk Chan". The Venture Bros? MC is now dressed up as Dr.Girlfriend or The Monarch. 💀

Asmodeus had small kiddos before, so he's seen every kind of wholesome show imaginable. He watches them all with MC for those feel good memories. But instead of animated shows he prefers the live action ones, so "Wizards of Waverly Place" would be an example. But...when we get to...uh...the afterdark shows anything with raunchy innuendos and any step below "porn" without it being porn is what he's watching. (Like honestly just think of a show and insert it here lmao) In fact, he purposes to MC that they make their own show and broadcast it all over Abaddon...the TV is turned off...brace yourself MC...TV night has turned into "Home Movies with my Horny Demon King boyfriend".

I also would pick the sus reason over the sad one, esp bc there's much more to Mike's refusal to play dnd than just not wanting to or, something I've seen ppl say or imply, that he was purposefully hurting Will.

This is one thing I get pretty worked up about when people try to make Mike a horrible person for joining Hellfire, so I may rant a little here. First of all, Dustin and Lucas (aka the Party) also joined Hellfire, so Mike wasn't abandoning the Party. Will never would've wanted Mike to stop playing dnd just because he wasn't there, actually he basically makes sure Mike won't lose interest in dnd while he's gone (W: "if you still want to play" M: "well, yeah"). Mike didn't "find a new Party" in Hellfire, it was more like an extension of the Party they already had. If anything, playing dnd with Hellfire actually makes Mike feel more connected to Will while he's away, so it's the opposite of an "insensitive" move on Mike's part, which I've heard some people call it. You could also say Mike was playing dnd again for Will because he called him out for acting like he wasn't interested in the rain fight, so he wanted to make it better even if Will wasn't there to see it (which is pretty cute if you wanna think that's the case).

Okay, I'll stop ranting now even though I could keep going 😅 Back to Milkvan: Mike and El don't feel like they can be themselves around one another, which is pretty much confirmed in s4 itself, so it would make sense that when she leaves he feels like he can go back to dnd. I'm sorry but they're actually so incompatible it's crazy...

But anyways, seeing Raggie not being chosen despite all her kindness towards Pomni hit a little too close to home 😅 And as much as it pained me seeing her left alone at the end of the ep and then that Glitch post with her sitting by herself staring off into the beautiful night sky, I think it’s what I needed 😭 Cuz I was like, “good for her, she deserves better than that anyways” which made me go “wait a damn minute…” ajdhjsjdksjs 🫢

Another thing that’s piqued my interest is thinking back on Pomni’s apology at the end of ep 3. Of course I think she meant it but at the same time I’m like “well if she meant that then she hasn’t really shown it…” 😐 And I think this is my thought process bc HAHAHA MY EX WAS LIKE THAT 🤠🔫 For instance, they would make/give me gifts that were kinda the bare minimum, call me pretty/hot, tell me they loved me, and want to kiss me so fucking bad yet when it came to the emotional aspect they would disappear like Jax in the pilot during Kaufmo’s abstraction sequence lmaooooo 💀😵‍💫😞

I personally didn’t see this scene as Ragatha realizing she’s alone

I actually think this is her making the choice to give up on getting closer with Pomni

See, It’s important that we got these moments in between Ragatha realizing Pomni and Jax have grown close enough to act like friends

Between her getting to know about someone she’s supposedly been stuck with for years and still being on good terms with someone she’s felt guilty for treating poorly

Ragatha is actually shown to be growing closer with the others

This is her feeling the warmth and validation she’s been seeking out

She doesn’t need more friends, she’s had some pretty good ones already, and in her obsession to be liked by yet another person has made her forget that a bit

Her brief moment of explosive anger with Pomni (very justified anger I might add) and then witnessing how Pomni was choosing to keep talking with Jax (the one who made her angry in the first place) made her feel betrayed

She’s watching Pomni bond with someone who likes to hurt others

She’s been wanting to get closer with a person who who wants to spend their time with someone who hurts her

So at the end, I think she’s realizing that this is not the kind of person she wants to get close with anymore

You know. Something I noticed about myself is that I enjoy learning to like something. In other words, sometimes I "force" myself to like something or sit through it until I start to actually genuinely enjoy the piece of media. Because, sometimes, it's less about "forcing" and really about training yourself to the direction and way you care about being. I care about seeing better females written in fiction, for example?
