Hello! I'm a Switch player and for some reason I can't seem to be able to update the game
Heya! If you are still having these issues:
Check if your switch space is full
What version is your game currently at?
Check if there's an option to update through + on the app to see further info
Reinstall Sky:cotl
Check further to see if you have any sort of issues with wifi- and if you have access to your router restart it if so(most you unplug for about a minute then reinsert- wait about 15 mins and wifi should have restarted. I do not recommend the button to turn it off in these cases due to that not always working)
If there's still issues, I recommend checking what your switch model is, check further to see if there's any issues from Nintendo's side, and if that doesn't work, there likely is a solution further out there that people have found to work in the past, I've listed the common ones above so I do hope any issues are fixed that way.

WiFi 7 : The Latest WiFi Technology

We understand - Keeping up with every new technology can be difficult. But, the wireless big thing you've likely already heard about next is Wi-Fi 7.
Wi-Fi technology has developed a great deal since the day it was born. With us being at the threshold of yet another wireless technology leap, Wi-Fi 7 is going to change and redefine how we connect, communicate and do business. Wi-Fi 7 is going to be a game-changer, and its speeds will be mind-boggling in relation to our current connectivity.
Wi-Fi 7 is not just speed; it's a superior, more efficient way of networking all the stuff in our increasingly digital lives!
About Wi-Fi 7: The Basics
Wi-Fi 7, or 802.11be, is the wireless networking technology of the future. Building on the advancement of Wi-Fi 6 and 6E, Wi-Fi 7 has finally emerged out of certification with the Wi-Fi alliance and has vowed unprecedented speeds, lower latency, and greater reliability.
It introduces several important features such as 320 MHz channels and Multi-Link Operation (MLO) of next generation, both of which improve the utilization of available spectrum as well as overall performance.
Dramatic Technological Breakthroughs
Improved speed and bandwidth support Improved latency and stability Next Generation Modulation Scheme
1. Improved Speed & Bandwidth
Perhaps the most significant improvement of Wi-Fi 7 is its speed and bandwidth performance increase. Wi-Fi 7 is recording speeds of up to 46 Gbps – far exceeding Wi-Fi 6's maximum speed! Download a full movie in seconds, stream HD content with not a hitch, and online gaming turns into a game of lightning-fast reaction times with no lag in between.
Wi-Fi 7 operates with wider channels, up to 320 MHz, twice as much capacity as 160 MHz in Wi-Fi 6, allowing for more data per connection.
2. Improved Latency
Wi-Fi 7 solves latency with a technology called Multi-Link Operation (MLO). MLO Allows devices to connect to multiple Wi-Fi bands simultaneously, spreading traffic and optimizing performance. It's a clever trick that keeps data zipping along with minimal delay, applications like low ping rates in gaming, smooth and responsive video calling.
3. Next-Level Modulation Technique
Wi-Fi 7 uses an advanced modulation technique called 4K QAM (Quadrature Amplitude Modulation). Wi-Fi 7 accelerates peak data rates, throughput, and overall capacity much higher than the old 1024 QAM mark. Utilizing 4K QAM, Wi-Fi 7 can handle increased data at higher speeds, making it ideal for applications with high requirements and densely populated network environments. This improvement offers a better and more stable wireless communication experience.
How Does it Fit in the Real World?
The benefits of Wi-Fi 7 extend far beyond fast downloads and flawless streaming.
1. Potential to revolutionize many industries:
Remote collaboration and work: With uninterrupted connections, remote employees can collaborate in real-time with minimal lag, making distributed offices even more productive. The Internet of Things (IoT) and smart homes: Wi-Fi 7's ability to handle hundreds of devices with ease will be crucial for the ever-expanding world of smart home appliances and the Internet of Things.
Cloud computing and data transfer: Businesses and individuals relying on cloud storage and data transfer will experience tremendous improvements in speed and dependability using Wi-Fi 7. Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) experiences: Wi-Fi 7's high-speed bandwidth and low latency will provide more immersive and lag-free VR and AR experiences.
2. Enterprise-Level Connectivity
Big businesses are going to significantly gain from Wi-Fi 7's improvements. The improved capacity and more efficient management capabilities will allow firms to better control their networks on a bigger scale, providing them with excellent coverage in huge areas. More security features and advanced network management possibilities will also allow for enhanced protection from cyberattacks as well as greater control.
Industry leaders emphasize the importance of future-proofing IT infrastructure. Wi-Fi 7 is a scalable technology that can adapt to evolving business needs, hence making it an essential for forward-thinking companies.
3. Sector-Specific Applications
Different sectors are going to have special benefits with the adoption of Wi-Fi 7. Let's discuss the cases!
Healthcare: In the healthcare sector, Wi-Fi 7 will offer more secure telemedicine services and remote patient monitoring in real-time. The high-speed, low-latency connections ensure that critical health data is transmitted accurately and in a timely fashion. Education: Students in schools will have better online learning experiences.
Wi-Fi 7 supports high-definition video streaming and interactive virtual classrooms, enhancing remote learning and making it more interactive. Retail: The retail sector can leverage Wi-Fi 7 to enhance customer engagement using AR and VR applications. For example, virtual try-ons and virtual shopping can be more responsive and seamless.
4. Technology Advances
Wi-Fi 7 introduces some technological advances that separate it from earlier versions. Below is a comparison and what we can look forward to next:
Comparison with Wi-Fi 6 and 6E: Even though Wi-Fi 6 and 6E introduced tremendous development in speed and efficiency, Wi-Fi 7 takes these leaps further. The addition of the 6 GHz band with Wi-Fi 6E was a breakthrough, but Wi-Fi 7's MLO and higher speed possibilities take it up a notch.Application of the 6 GHz Band: Wi-Fi 7 is making the most of the 6 GHz band, which is offering more channels and less interference compared to the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands.
This results in more data transmission and enhanced performance where high population concentrations are involved.
Future Prospects :
As technology improves, the ground laid by Wi-Fi 7 will pave the way for development. As technology progresses and even more devices become compatible, we can expect Wi-Fi 7 to be the new standard, delivering scorching-fast, secure, and seamless connectivity.
Factors to Watch Out For
While Wi-Fi 7 is full of promise, there are some things to consider.
Infrastructure Requirements: The installation of Wi-Fi 7 will require widespread infrastructure upgrades. Companies will need to invest in new access points and routers as well as compatible hardware in order to be able to fully utilize the features of Wi-Fi 7.Potential Cost Impacts: Wi-Fi 7 upgrades have a high price tag, mostly for big businesses.
But these initial costs may be worth it in the end for long-term productivity and efficiency improvements. Average Adoption Timeline: Prior to the arrival of Wi-Fi 7, mass adoption will be an incremental process. Businesses need to plan their upgrading carefully so they are ready when the new tech is released.
The Future: Upgrading for Wi-Fi 7
Wi-Fi 7 is a leap forward in wireless technology in terms of enhanced speed, dependability, and security. Its impact on business operations, sector-specific applications, and technology developments is substantial with the potential to revolutionize how we connect and communicate. However, before this new wave comes in, we must overcome infrastructure challenges and keep costs in check.
As we gear up to this new exciting wave, businesses must strategize their upgrade in order to reap the full benefit of the WiFi 7.

All the World's a Stage, Especially This Castle: Ch7
Chapter 7: First Day
Depa POV! Also some more characters....
--------------------------------
Depa doesn’t get babysitting duty often, even a couple of weeks into Anakin being here. The kid follows Obi-Wan around whenever he can, like a duckling that imprinted on the nearest ‘cool’ adult. Given that Obi-Wan’s day job is to help around the museum, that works out. When he’s busy, Anakin goes to the library with Lady Jocasta, or the stables, or to the groundskeeper’s cottage if Plo is done for the day and Ahsoka wants to hang out with her new friend.
Meanwhile, Depa’s got the university, which is significantly further out of the way than any of the above.
But sometimes, like today, she has free time, and since Mace isn’t exactly in possession of a lot of that, even compared to Depa, someone from their side needs to spend time with the kid, right?
Right.
So Depa’s following Anakin around, hands in her pockets, as he tumbles across one of the drier fields. She thinks this one is usually used for heather.
“Do you think Obi-Wan knows all the bugs that live in these?” Anakin asks.
“Probably knows most of them,” Depa says. “I don’t know about all. I think I heard somewhere that there are more species of beetle on Earth than there are species of mammal, and that’s before getting to other kinds of bug.[1] So maybe it’s too much for any one person to know, even just for one small patch of Scotland.”
She gives it a second, but Anakin doesn’t answer, so she adds, “I can ask him, if you don’t want to.”
“No, I’m gonna.”
Okay, then. No skin off her back.
“What were you and Obi-Wan doing in the tower I’m not allowed in?”
Wait what. “The tower you’re not allowed in?”
He gives her a look like she’s being purposely dense. “Yeah, there’s signs to keep out ‘cause of construction or something. You went with electronics stuff to measure radio signals. Were you trying to check the wifi?”
Oh, Revan’s tower. “I’m not sure what you mean about the wifi,” she says instead.
There’s that look again. “You had EMF readers, right? So that’s for measuring radio signals, and wifi and stuff. I thought you were looking for dead spots so you could, I dunno, install a router for people to be able to make calls once it was fixed.”
“That… certainly would make sense,” Depa says. “I didn’t realize you knew so much about technology.”
Anakin rolls his eyes. “I’m good at computers, and cars, and stuff. But you’re not answering the question!”
Well, yes, she was rather trying not to. “We like to think there’s ghosts on the estate. We were messing around with the EMF reader in the tower because there’s old stories about a specific ghost there.”
Anakin narrows his eyes. “You believe in ghosts?”
Depa shrugs. “It’s a hobby. Whether or not I believe, it’s fun to explore, and I’m familiar enough with the tower to explore it safely.”
This earns her another eyeroll. “I know I’m not allowed. Everyone’s made that super clear.”
She certainly hopes so.
“So you might believe in ghosts,” Anakin says. “Do you want me to help you do an exorcism? I can read the Latin. One of my classmates thought her older sister was haunting the family house and Sister Katherine got the priest involved and he had to go over and send the spirit away. I don’t know where she went, but there wasn’t a ghost anymore after that. Mindy kept crying ‘cause her sister died in a way that means she had to go to hell, though.”
That is… so much information that Depa has no idea how to handle. “I don’t think we need an exorcism, but thank you for the offer.”
“Are you sure?” Anakin asks.
“Do you want to do an exorcism?” Depa asks. He seems pretty insistent. “Have you… done one before?”
“No, but I want to see where the ghosts are,” Anakin wheedles, “and this way you might let me go with you?”
Pity’s sake. “I don’t know when we’ll have time to go ghost-hunting again. Maybe ask Lady Jocasta to tell you about the history of the estate and what ghosts are suspected to be here,” Depa says. “I could tell you about Lady Revan, if you want?”
“Is that the ghost you’re hunting?”
“One of them,” Depa says. “She was the daughter of a medieval mormaer, the equivalent of an earl in that time, and—”
“Artu, no! Torna indietro!”
Depa is promptly distracted by the sound of a young girl and the sight of a very small, very fast, very white-except-for-all-the-mud blur that promptly launches itself at Anakin and knocks him over.
She has about half a second to try and figure out what the hell is going on before she registers that the blur is a small dog with a blue collar that is excitedly licking all over Anakin’s face.
The boy is giggling. Okay. She doesn’t need to interfere. Probably.
“I’m sorry!” the girl, a teenager, exclaims as she jogs up to them and grabs the lead trailing behind the small dog. She’s got an accent, though Depa can’t immediately place it. “He heard people, and just ran off with the, um, the leash!”
“I don’t think Anakin minds,” Depa assures her. Her future stepbrother is laughing, still, and has now sat up to hold the dog back enough to catch his breath. “I’m Depa, and this is Anakin. You are?”
“Padmé Naberrie,” the girl says. “I’m visiting my uncle for the semester. Ah, the term.”
“Naberrie…” that sounds familiar. She’s sure she’s heard that before.
Padmé must realize. “My uncle is Sheev Palpatine. My mother’s cousin.”
Ah, the mayor of Coruscant. “Pleased to meet you. I think I’ve met him a few times. My father is Judge Windu, so we’ve gone to some of the same events.”
“Oh,” Padmé says. “He is marrying Qui-Gon Jinn, yes? This is Serreno lands?”
“Yes, but it’s public access,” Depa dismisses. “Right to roam and all that.”
“…il diritto di pubblico accesso,” Padmé decides. Italian? Depa thinks that was Italian. Probably whatever freedom to roam is called there. “But Sola said I’m supposed to be on the path. And keep Arturo on the leash.”
“Well, you were trying to hold the lead,” Depa says. “I don’t think anyone would be upset with you for an accident that small. If he’d gotten past the wooden fencing over that way, there might have been more trouble, but this area is mostly a park. People have picnics on the drier areas when the weather’s nice, even off the trails. So long as you stay inside the fence, you’re fine. Past that, it gets rather… swampy.”
Whatever worry was on Padmé’s face drops away.
Depa looks down at where the dog, apparently Arturo, has calmed down a little, and Anakin is… staring at Padmé.
“Are you an angel?”
Oh dear.

This is the newest section for my model railroad. Yes, it seems chaotic, but that's the point.
My model railroad consists of small sections that I build whenever I feel like it, and arrange on a suitable table. Since my apartment isn't that large, I have exactly one model railroad table, which also serves as a general hobby and random stuff table. That makes it difficult to actually run trains - there's always random stuff in the places where I want to put model railroad sections. This here is the solution. Hopefully.

It's a model railroad module that also serves as a holder and organiser for random stuff. The idea is that it remains in place at all times, and I can connect other modules to it as I want and need. And I get to have model trains running through my pencils, cutters, dead battery boxes and so on.

Just to be clear, by definition, anything that is in the fields of that module is stored away properly and organised. This means I will not take any criticism about the way things are arranged there (and it's bound to change anyway).
Some technical details:
This module (mostly) follows the T-Trak standard for small table-top modules in N scale. As part of that, the tracks at the ends are Unitrack. The main semicircle is Tomix track, which offers a few more options, in particular these nice curved turnouts that mean the module works as a crossover as well. As of right now the turnouts are hand-controlled, I plan to add a DCC decoder at a later date (potentially much later).
The basic construction is probably mostly what you expect: A plywood box with strips as dividers.

Main box, floor and track section are 7 mm pine, the inserts are 4mm poplar. Some inserts end up mostly or fully covered, those have access from the bottom to put cables in. The whole thing has power connections, which is not required by T-Trak standards, but I put it in every module anyway.
The edges of the road bed are covered with a 1mm thick strip of wood from an architecture supply shop, which makes the edge look smooth (it's not, I cut it out with a jigsaw) and holds back the ballast.
Because this wouldn't hold any pens or similar, I designed some special inserts with higher interlocking parts.

Those were a bit annoying to build. Finally the whole thing was painted in varnish, giving the look you see now. I'm really happy with how things turned out there, and I think this'll be a useful addition to my model railroad table for the years to come.
Now I just need to find a different space for my 3D printer, and build some curves to run the trains around the WiFi router and…

AITA for cutting the wifi every night at 11 while my cousin stays with us?
---TL;DR: Started turning the wifi off at night without warning because my visiting cousin wouldn't keep it down while I study for finals. ---
I’m a 21M engineering student, living with my parents in Lebanon. Finals are in a week, so my nights are mostly spent memorizing formulas and solving circuits.
Last month, my cousin, say Laura, (17F) asked if she could crash in our guest room for a few weeks while she did a short internship in the city (Beirut) from our village down south Leb. My parents said yes, which is no problem, I like Laura.
The problem started on her second night. Around midnight, I heard loud laughter and TV noises coming from the living room. Laura was online with her friends playing online until 1 a.m..
This happened almost 3 nights in a row even though I complained to her multiple tines all respectful and stuff.
After three nights of this, I was exhausted. I haeshly confronted her and she apologized, but the next night it happened again, albeit only till midnight and it was a little lower . My grades are hanging by a thread, so I took a bigger approach shut off the wifi at 11 every night and turned it back on when I wake up next morning, around 7.
My parents don't mind since they're more TV people and go to sleep early.
Cue chaos. Laura lost connection mid-game the first night I did this, and she came to me furious. She said I was acting like an “old landlord,” ruining her only free time. My parents think I overreacted, they say Laura’s just enjoying her time with us and the stay is temporary. They want me to turn the internet back on and 'ignore her' instead for the sake of family.
The main router is in my room so most control is mine but I have to listen to my parents in the end.
Am I being unreasonable?
I feel bad because Laura’s internship is only about 2 more weeks, and yes, I didn’t warn her about turning off the wifi. On the other hand, I'm trying for a scholarship, and I literally can’t focus or go to sleep with the late-night noise.
AITA?
Edit:
It's 9pm now and I'm getting ready to go to bed in a couple of hours and she's already in our living room playing PS on the TV. I still don't know if I should cut it again tonight because at this point it's like a battle of wits.
On one hand my parents pay for the wifi and she is a guest so we should be accommodating her; but I really tried and mentioned this problem so much.
Edit: it's now midnight - I got my parents to agree that she's pushing things too far and they spoke to her themselves and she's agreed to be pretty much completely quite by midnight - which was our compromise. She's packed her stuff up and is now in bed in the guest bedroom - all quiet, bliss.

I did my laundry today 😊
Surprisingly made me feel good, consider this a thing to add to your to-do list if you haven't already.
Also I'm not privileged enough to have a washing machine at my disposal and I've got to wash everything by Hand for 2.5hrs, so saying laundry was a feel-good activity isn't a light praise.
However, I had some bad cramps, I've been cramping since last night and I think I'll get my period tomorrow and it might hurt so bad I will get hallucinations like last time (tmi I know, sorry)
Apart from laundry, I did breakfast today, ran some errands, and well, survived the day.
There is no WiFi rn, apparently all routers of the same network provider (which is basically half the country) are experiencing difficulties atm, hopefully they'll fix it tomorrow.
I've been binging Lucifer (Netflix) and mannnnnn, I love that series so much it might be my fav, it's so funny and silly and intriguing. I'm particularly drawn to Lucifer himself, the actor (Tom Ellis 😽🫶🏾) played the role so well I was annoyed yet pulled in by his arrogance and cocky manner. Well let's not even begin with his handsome face 😼🙂↕️ mmmhhmmm🫦 (sorry, guys that's the hormones speaking)
7/10 day, oki bye

Hey so remember how I posted yesterday about how it’s not a great idea to be condescending to people assuming the worst about the surveillance state and the role of the internet and tech companies in upholding and enforcing it? Well anyway, here’s an important thread on the House’s Section 702 “reform” bill, scheduled for a floor vote ASAP (as early as Dec. 12), which would be one of the largest expansions of surveillance within the US (accessible text below the images along with links to the linked articles)

Tweet thread from Elizabeth Goitein:
RED ALERT: Buried in the House intelligence committee’s Section 702 “reform” bill, which is schedule for a floor vote as soon as tomorrow, is the biggest expansion of surveillance inside the United States since the Patriot Act. 1/11
Through a seemingly innocuous change to the definition of “electronic service communications provider,” the bill vastly expands the universe of U.S. businesses that can be conscripted to aid the government in conducting surveillance. 2/11
Under current law, the government can compel companies that have direct access to communications, such as phone, email, and text messaging service providers, to assist in Section 702 surveillance by turning over the communications of Section 702 targets. 3/11
Under Section 504 of the House intelligence committee’s bill, any entity that has access to *equipment* on which communications may be transmitted or stored, such as an ordinary router, is fair game. What does that mean in practice? It’s simple… 4/11
Hotels, libraries, coffee shops, and other places that offer wifi to their customers could be forced to serve as surrogate spies. They could be required to configure their systems to ensure that they can provide the government access to entire streams of communications. 5/11
Even a repair person who comes to fix the wifi in your home would meet the revised definition: that person is an “employee” of a “service provider” who has “access” to “equipment” (your router) on which communications are transmitted. 6/11
The bill’s sponsors deny that Section 504 is intended to sweep so broadly. What *is* the provision intended to do, and how is the government planning to use it? Sorry, that’s classified. 7/11
At the end of the day, though, the government’s claimed intent matters little. What matters is what the provision, on its face, actually allows—because as we all know by now, the government will interpret and apply the law as broadly as it can get away with. 8/11
This isn’t a minor or theoretical concern. One of the FISA Court amici posted a blog to warn Americans about this provision. I can’t overstate how unusual it is for FISA Court amici to take to the airwaves in this manner. We’d be foolish to ignore it. https://www.zwillgen.com/law-enforcement/fisa-reform-bill-702-surveillance/ 9/11
If you don't want to have to worry that the NSA is tapping into communications at the hotel where you're staying, tell your House representative to vote NO on the House intelligence bill this week. More on the many flaws with that bill here: https://t.co/i9PEXmg5r6 10/11
Instead, they should vote for the Protect Liberty & End Warrantless Surveillance Act, a bill passed by the House Judiciary Committee on a 35-2 vote that would reauthorize Sec. 702 with strong reforms to protect Americans’ privacy and civil liberties. https://t.co/CN7ZepGSUu 11/11
#us politics#surveillance state expansion#no such thing as too much caution when it comes to privacy in a state or free market that has no incentives to provide it 🙃
