I want to cheer on as many people as possible! Since I’ve already done posts for these four in previous rounds, I’ve decided to do one for all of them together! All of them are my friends, so please vote for them!

- Rifty is kind and fun to be around! They’re also purple, which is the best colour. They went out of their way to pose for me to help me draw their horns last time I drew them, and I think that’s really nice of them! I still need to do something for them to repay the favour. This post doesn’t count!

- Peony is smarter than most adults I’ve met, and she’s even younger than my little sister! She has really cool soul magic powers, and even though she’s much smarter than me, she isn’t ever mean to me about it. In fact, she’s a real sweetheart! And her parents are really nice too!

- When I first met Noir, I thought he seemed really cool and I wanted to be friends with him. But now that I am friends with him, I can see that in fact… he is really cool! He’s nice to kids and I respect that a lot! He also once offered to scare away anyone who bullied me. I’d do the same for him!

- Mr Mapobas is a royal mage! He’s very important! And yet he’s been really nice to me and offered me lots of advice, even though I’m just some random noddy who does magic tricks for a living. He’s one of my favourite people to talk to. And he’s super fashionable! And he has cool hair!

Welcome to the Survival of the Fattest! Here’s how this is gonna work:

This blog is experimental. I guess think of it as like a social experiment. This is not a traditional RP blog. I will start out with five muses. There will be four rounds of the tournament. Towards the end of each round, the muse who has received the LEAST amount of asks will be eliminated.

How does elimination work? Basically, a random muse will receive a hit to vore the muse that needs to be eliminated. When a hit goes out will be up to me, the mun. That being said, once a hit goes out, I will ask for viewer input on how things go down~

I guess from that perspective, the title is a bit misleading, since it’s more of a popularity contest than anything, but I figured this is the fairest method. Characters will still be consistently getting fatter over time of course. In my opinion, vore without weight gain is like an angel without wings.

Also, as for weigh ins, I will update the weight section of every muses bio at the start of each new round, but if you ever want me to update a specific muses weight, just send in an ask asking for a weigh in. Please don’t spam me with weigh in requests though!

Since in the ideal scenario, the cast of muses will not be very consistent, I will not be doing threads, so this blog will primarily ask/prompt focus. That being said, if you want to be a little creative, then I think I’m fine with asks being sent in character. That being said, I’d prefer it for in-character stuff to be framed as a message/letter/email/etc., since I don’t think it would make much sense for the setting for random characters to show up aside from the main contestants. Perhaps your muse is a sponsor of one of the contestants? A fan of the show? It’s up to you! TLDR: I will allow a RPing through asks a little bit. Also, one last note, I will not be doing private RP through DMs either, sorry again. (Also mutuals only plz, unless I know ur a sideblog)

Do not disrupt or cheat the players or playing experience.

No Griefing: Do not destroy, steal, or alter other players’ builds or belongings. No use of hacks, cheats, or unauthorized mods. Exploiting bugs or glitches is strictly prohibited. Avoid unnecessary landscape destruction. Don't leave floating trees or 1 block vertical dirt/cobblestone pillars.  Large Auto or mass farms for items or villagers are not permitted

Do not ignore staff.

Follow instructions from server staff and moderators. Do not argue with staff decisions; if you have an issue, report it through proper channels.

Play Fair and Honorably.

No disconnecting mid-battle to avoid a loss. No spamming moves or using unfair tactics to exploit game mechanics. Do not block-off or gatekeep rare Pokémon spawn points. Share information about rare spawns if multiple players are present. Engage in fair trading practices; no scamming. Respect agreed-upon trade terms; do not alter trades last minute. Follow the specific rules for gyms and tournaments. Accept losses gracefully; do not harass gym leaders or tournament organizers.

Respect the server space.

Claim land responsibly; do not claim vast areas unnecessarily. Respect other players’ claims and do not build too close without permission. (within 75 blocks) Ensure your builds do not lag the server. Avoid offensive or inappropriate structures. Do not try to alter or destroy community areas or builds. Contribute positively to community projects.

Use common sense in chat engagement.

No spamming or advertising. Use the appropriate discord channels for different topics (e.g., trade, help, general). Follow the same respect and language rules as in-game. Use voice channels appropriately; no yelling or playing loud music.

Report bugs, issues, or rule violations to staff promptly.

Participate in Events with good intentions.

Follow the rules and guidelines for server events. Do not sabotage or disrupt events or activities. Accept event outcomes and prize distributions gracefully. Do not beg for rewards or special treatment.

Alternate accounts are prohibited.

No use of alternate accounts to gain an unfair advantage. Inform staff if you need to use an alternate account for legitimate reasons prior to using it.

Do not incite, encourage, or initiate toxic, bullying, or discontent on the server.

If you have a grievance, address it with staff. We can't fix what we don't know, and telling us in server chat may not always get remembered. Be sure to submit a ⁠��support-ticket.  Stay informed about server updates and rule changes. Adapt to new rules and changes as they are implemented.

Rule Violations Understand that breaking rules may result in warnings, temporary bans, or permanent bans. Severity of the punishment will depend on the nature and frequency of the violation. "Why are the bosses doing so badly?" Because they were announced as the bosses in the first place. People naturally dislike favoritism, hype, or a subjective majority, even if they never really were the majority of all voters; it's not like a single person received more support than all the support for everyone else put together. Even the title of "boss" is already telling you, "these are the people you have to defeat."

The blog is also much bigger now than it was in the submission period, so all of the bosses do have more votes than their original, relatively small submission number... they just have even more votes against them. Meaning they probably weren't ONLY spammed (prob spammed somewhat) but their fans still don't eclipse the people voting against. For example, I'm not trying to dispute Damon's loss or make trouble whatsoever, just running the math on such a big number of votes for perspective: even with a very pitiful 13.5% in the poll, that's still 1,107+ votes at the time of writing. Which means Damon is losing with more votes than most competitors won with previously, and is losing with more or close to the votes that the other three polls are currently winning with. In fact, Damon is losing the most epic loss yet with more votes than the entire Stone v PJ poll rn, and the entire Tracy v Eddie poll isn't that far off either. And of the other three winners, only Selena actually has more votes than Damon's cringefail loss atm. Although Damon was the one dragged for submission spam, his current losing vote total surpassed his submission total by a much wider margin than the other bosses, so by that math he was actually the least misrepresented by spam. None of that is disputing his loss, just again offering perspective on the numbers because one poll is quite a bit larger than any others.

(To be clear I'm not at all saying any of the three long-haired men from Seattle or the main Blur would have won the whole thing without this boss fight setup, I don't think any of them would in the final polls, I'm just saying this setup made their losses super, super likely from early on IMO.)

Great statistics! I'll also add onto what you said about the blog's size, to put things into perspective: ever since submissions for this tournament opened, my following has more than doubled-- what seemed like an enormous amount of votes and warranted a bossfight title back in the day, would've meant nothing at all if I had as many followers as I do now.

In part due to the spamming, and in part due to the anonymous nature of most propaganda asks, it's proven risky to gauge how popular a musician actually is on this blog- even note count can be unreliable, such as how the Peter Steele Playgirl shoot is still my most reblogged propaganda piece, and yet he was voted out rather early. Same goes for Brian, Jarvis, and many others. In retrospect this tournament in particular seemed spectacularly incompatible with a bossfight format- just as the elimination format damaged the album tournament a fair bit.

btw people say shadowbanning isnt possible on tumblr because it's mostly algorithm-less, but as someone who ran a tournament blog, it is possible for your blog to get marked as spam without any outward signs of it. you stop receiving notes the same way, your posts dont show up on anyone's dashboards or in tags, you cant reply to people properly. you have to contact staff and tell them you've been misidentified as spam

so it is possible to be shadowbanned in a sense, and it does isolate your blog and make it so people cant see your posts without directly going to your blog, which they wont think to do if youre not on their dash. if you see a post about bei g shadowbanned on your dash, then either the problem has been fixed, or at the very least theyre not dealing with the same issue i was. but i can confirm that at least one specific form of shadowbanning(aka, in this instance, being filtered for spam) does exist

Well if we’re thinking of Rumours v 2009 - as someone said many fans just haven’t made it to season 6 or watched 2009 more than once. It’s an enjoyable episode, the main fascination being Kurt’s story and his glow up, but this tournament has all other ships and stans voting. Is there any britanna in there? Season 2 remains popular. Rumours is popular for Songbird especially plus other extra songs plus the Britanna Artie plot, plus the Sam of it all - the story is cute. Klainers love to laugh at the stupidity of people thinking Kurt is cheating on Blaine.

Nbk v hos - well someone pointed out in comments only good thing about Nbk is Klaine meeting. And theres been a lot of anti Blaine stuff around this week on twitter so that’s changed again. The beiste plot is horrible and puck is an ass, and it’s not really Britanna focussed. hos is a competition episode which people tend to enjoy and you’ve got one of the sancedes mashups in there too.

I think, and I mean no disrespect to you, but we do know ultimately there’s a handful of episodes which will be in the top 4. Pq and Os have been long term fan faves and have won many times over the years, I’m not convinced it’ll change now. I’m interested to see what fills in the spaces 3-28 or whatever.

But I love you doing this. It’s fun. It’s not to be taken too seriously. It’s interesting to hear PoV even if they’re wrong (I jest) . I’m not commenting or reblogging because people can be so rude or shoot people down for having a different opinion.

Sorry - I am finally getting around to addressing all of this.

First of all, I just want to say, even if I'll campaign passionately on my own blog, I completely understand that this blog's intention is to service the wider glee fandom, and not one particular corner of it, therefore the opinions are going to be different. That is usually part of the fun of it.

What isn't fun is when there's an obvious bout of cheating going on and all of sudden those numbers get skewed in a really wonky way. And as I said before, I know there's always some form of cheating going on in these things -- especially in polls that reach a huge audience. But this particular blog really only gets out to 200-ish people, so when someone spams it with an 100 extra votes it feels really noticeable.

And, at the moment I discovered it - it felt... idk violating in a way? It's like someone did it intentionally to make some sort of statement?

Most of the polls they did it on, the episode in question was already winning. So, why even bother?

That said - I do agree that we're hurdling towards a pre-determined endgame. I've ran this particular poll maybe four times over the course of the years, and it's always ended the same way. But the real fun is getting there, and seeing where everything else shakes out.

I'm glad you are having fun, and I think overall, most people are, too. As of now, things seem to be normal again, so I'm continuing on with the tournament. But if things seem suspicious again, I may decide to pull the plug then.

I'm sorry to hear this, and this is a good moment to remind people that everyone is entitled to have their own opinion. No one is dumb or stupid or whatever if they like something else. It's a TV show, and subjective to each person. Someone not liking your favorite isn't going to hurt you, and people should feel safe to state opinions without getting ridiculed. I realize this is the internet, and the anonymity makes that hard. But c'mon. This is so not worth getting into it with people over.

Hello! Welcome to the Disney villain bracket! This bracket will determine the best of the best of all Disney villains!

There are some submission rules that I’d like for you to follow:

Any media type is acceptable (movies, shows, games, etc) so long as it’s originally Disney, and not something that Disney owns because they paid for it (ie, Rasputin from Anastasia)

That being said, the anime guys from Kingdom Hearts will not be allowed. I’m sorry

If your character is from a Pixar movie, that’s acceptable even if it’s not also made by Disney animation studios

In the case of Disney buying a franchise and creating more content for it, any villains created after Disney bought it qualify, as they’ve always been a Disney character in that case

No submitting the same character more than once! You may submit multiple characters, however (ie, no spamming Captain Hook nine times, but if you wanna submit Captain Hook, Lady Tremaine, and Pete from the Mickey Mouse cartoons, that’s fine!)

Your villain must actually be a villain, not just an antagonist (ie, Abuela Alma from Encanto is an antagonist but not a villain). The key difference between a villain and an antagonist is intent. Does your character have malicious intent? Does your character want to cause harm? If so, that’s a villain! Does your character simply get in the way of the protagonists journey? Does your character just create challenges for the protagonist without evil intentions? In that case, your character is an antagonist rather than a villain. Hope this makes sense!

(If you can’t tell if a character is a villain or an antagonist, send me an ask!)

The character MUST remain a villain by the end of the story! If they die a villain before the end (ie, the Evil Queen from Snow White), they also count

Megan's Blorbo Bracket

I got sick of my favorite characters getting knocked out of random tournaments and then me not caring about any of the possible winners. @perihelions suggested I make a bracket of just my favorite characters instead. So I present 32 blorbos: No matter who wins a poll, I will win because my blorbo wins, and no matter who loses, I lose because my blorblo loses. But the people who will lose most will undoubtedly be my followers, who have to sift through more junk posts from yours truly. Without further ado:

"You like so many things. How did you pick?" I limited myself to two blorbos per fandom and every pairing was randomized. I have other favorites that I left out for lack of blorbo energy, or I just wasn't feeling it, or I hit my "two per fandom" maximum. Maybe if I'm bored later I'll make a bracket of just the rejects.

"What's the schedule?" The first eight polls of Round 1 will go up this Friday, May 5. The second eight of Round 1 will go up on Saturday, March 6. Polls will have a 24-hour time limit. (But I'm not sure what tournament courtesy is; I can be convinced to make them a week long if there are strong feelings otherwise.)

So... I was thinking since you write for queen's gambit and like Benny watts... A oneshot or headcanon for a reader who also is really good at chess, but doesn't like tournaments and even though she's friends (and secretly totally in love with Benny who sort of feels the same) with Benny, refuses to play him. Until one day he convinces her to play against him and she wins (even though he was really trying to beat her) and he's really impressed.

If this is too detailed, feel free to strip it down to a level you feel comfortable with!

LET'S PLAY

The air at the tournament hall was full of tension as two players were competing against each other - one was the former USA champion, and the other was a promising new chess player around. They weren't really competing about anything serious, the newbie was just curious to see if Benny Watts was really so skilled as they claimed he was.

You were sitting near their table, biting into your knuckles as you watched them play. Benny winning should have been obvious, but this newbie was way smarter than anyone thought he would be. The guy had some skill after all. But eventually, he made a major mistake which made Benny an opportunity to force his Queen to move back from checkmate range, putting her under threat again soon afterwards.

The young man groaned when it happened, staring angrily at Benny who looked over at him and smirked. "Looks like I won."

The gathering around the table started to walk away from the scene, some telling the newbie that he's got a promising career in front of him, but he just shrugged them all off, marching away from the scene.

You walked up to Benny, raising your eyebrows at the newbie. "Sore loser, that one." you mumbled under your breath before glancing at Benny curiously. "Did he really struggle his way so far along the game?"

Benny chuckled. "To be honest, I let him think so. You saw how he reacted to losing after thinking he would win, imagine how it would have been if I had taken the first chance when he made his first mistake?"

"He probably would have lashed out even worse." you agreed and sighed as Benny stood up from his chair.

"Care to join me for a drink?" he asked, adjusting his coat and you smiled as you nodded happily.

It was always nice to spend time with Benny, he had been your friend since you had been little kids, and occasionally you joined him as he traveled around USA or Canada attending chess tournaments. It was nice sitting with him for hours in his car, listening to radio and talking about everything, staying in motels to sleep.

There was one problem though. You were neck deep in love with Benny, and spending so much time with him didn't exactly help it. It was intoxicating and you always felt like walking on clouds when he looked at you. And when you slept, you couldn't help but dream how it would be if one day, he would pull you aside after he won a tournament and just... tell you that he had loved you ever since he met you and that he would like you to ask to be his girlfriend.

You knew that would never happen, he probably saw you as a sister or something, but still, you kept those thoughts alive in your head because they made you happy. Sometimes you thought you saw something flash in his eyes when he looked at you - could he possibly see your feelings? Could he have fallen for you too? But you always shook the wishful thinking away, reminding yourself that it happening was highly unlikely.

Growing up with him had taught you a thing or two in chess too, but you never wanted to play against him despite his many attempts to convince you. Maybe you were scared of being humiliated by him, him laughing at you, others laughing at you for losing, or just fearing he'd wordlessly be disappointed on how bad you are in playing against him. You knew he would never humiliate you or laugh at you and would glare badly at anyone who would, but your brains always liked to bully you with that imagery. Or maybe there was a chance of you winning, and your face would be all over newspapers for being unknown, never competed in tournaments and defeating a former USA champion.

"An unknown girl defeated the former USA champion Benny Watts", it didn't sound very tempting either.

You left the tournament after another couple of hours, and maybe you were feeling crazy today, when you and Benny had settled down in another motel a few hours earlier than you had originally planned, and Benny had asked you if you would want to try and play.

"We played last time when we were kids, and I've seen you play with everyone else. I know you're scared of having an audience, but there are no spectators here, curtains are drawn, you have nothing to be afraid of." he said, and you sighed.

"Okay. One time, but you won't laugh when I lose this one," you agreed, giving into his request as you sat down at the small table, watching as Benny spread the board out.

Benny frowned at your words. "I wouldn't laugh at you. What are you talking about?"

"I just... never mind. Let's just play." you mumbled, your cheeks heating up from embarrassment as Benny looked at you. "I can take the black side."

"Fine with me." he nodded, placing his white pawns on the board. You set up yours, and leaned back, looking at the chess clock. "Ready?"

"Yes." You muttered and Benny made the first move, moving one of his knights. You looked around the board for a moment, before moving your own pawn.

It hadn't even been half an hour before you had trapped him in a stalemate situation, forcing him to concede defeat to you, his queen falling over.

"Wait, really?" you frowned and then looked at him, your frown disappearing as you sighed. "You made yourself lose on purpose so I wouldn't feel bad, didn't you?"

He raised his eyebrows, shaking his head and chuckling. "No, I didn't. I went easy on you at first, but then actually played my hardest when you had tricked me to give up my rook."

Your frown returned, staring at the board. "Did I actually win? I thought you're gonna pull out some trick again."

Benny shook his head slowly, leaning forward with a smile. "You won. And I gotta say, I'm impressed."

You sat there in silence for a moment more, before he cleared his throat. "I'll buy you dinner, alright? We didn't get to eat today after that little sandwich at the reception today."

You grinned at him, nodding happily as he stood up from his seat, reaching out and offering his arm to you as you got off your chair. You took it, hooking your arm through his, feeling like a couple for a moment, and the old lady at the reception desk praising your "young love" definitely made your cheeks burn even hotter, and when you glanced at Benny, you saw he was slightly red too.

So the rest of the night went by your dreams about dating Benny someday intesifying as you ate and Benny told you that he always enjoys spending time with you and is grateful that you joined him in tournaments, briefly laying his hand on top of yours on the table.

Maybe one day, one day soon, you would actually be real couple. This day felt like it somehow made you closer, and all because you finally agreed to play one game of chess against him. It had been a silly fear of feeling humiliated, being laughed at and people knowing what you did not have talent in, which would never happen even if you had lost within three moves.

Night fell slowly, briefly dyeing the sky orange and yellow, and then stars began to peek out in the clear blackness above. And for you, that was the most beautiful night in a long while.

Unicorn Tournament

Unicorns! Mythical mono-horned equines! They're such a fixture of myth and pop culture that they really need no introduction. As such, we're here to determine the Most Unicorn of All Time (according to a small subset of the Tumblr userbase). That's where you come in.

We will be accepting unicorn submissions until the end of April. If you have a favorite unicorn from fiction or myth, please feel free to submit it here! the unfiltered takahashi rant.

I’m never going to show a picture of my face because I want to maintain some privacy, but I was so tempted to break that rule an hour ago. Words can’t express how done I am. And let me tell you, I didn’t want to go abroad a spiral of a rant. However, I’ve reached my limit.

Now the rant.

I’ve been writing criticisms and praises and defenses of Zero One because I knew it was flawed, I understood why people dropped it, but I still liked it. I wanted to express all of that through this blog, and perhaps give content to people who are watching but don’t post in the main tags as I do. I kept going even though I knew I was spamming the tag, probably annoying people, and everything in between. All I thought about was potential of plot and potential of characters

Then Takahashi decided we must have Ex-Aid 2.0. We needed someone to die on Christmas 2019, because why not sacrifice the interesting villain group, and why not use shock value by killing the most popular character on the show. We had to get a human antagonist to emphasize humanity comes with its own evils - without even addressing the nuances of creating a species that could become self-aware and therefore independent. It’s like he copied and pasted the “viruses must be exterminated” conflict of Ex-Aid, except he forgot to alter some words, and now that’s a whole bag of implications in Zero One. We need a tournament arc that, not only turned out to be useless, but shoved the development of certain characters aside. We need Jin to come back on a new crusade, albeit sacrificing the precious minutes we had of a father-son relationship a lot of people loved. Complete with Jin trying to stab Horobi in the face. We need Gai to be as despicable as possible because his defeat will be so much sweeter...then you give him a toy dog and he’s protecting Aruto from the Ark.

What.

This is not what I signed up for.

“Takahashi’s writing style isn’t for me.”

“Being a fan means that even if things don’t go the way I envisioned it, I should see the good in what I get.”

“Give it some time, and I’m sure good things will come.”

“I’ll just pick out the good stuff.”

“There’s a fine line between complaints and criticism and I should ensure I’m doing the latter by watching the way I phrase things and letting the reader know I appreciate what he’s done.”

I’m no longer using these excuses for him. Yes, I should maintain basic decency as a fan - but Takahashi as a professional writer should meet me in the middle. And here I am, arching and leaping and drawing up bridges over plot holes and missing development that grows wider by the second...while Takahashi is doing who knows what with this show. He’s lucky enough to have created characters I genuinely care about - hence why I’m going to keep watching Zero One. I believe in them, the actors and the actresses. Not Takahashi.

This is reaching the point where I can call this the most poorly written Kamen Rider series I’ve seen - overall narrative wise. Then again, there’s a couple of series I haven’t watched even via random watch. Who knows. I’m not diving into that right now; otherwise I’ll be ‘justifying’ what Takahashi is doing. All I can say is that I owe Zi-O one big apology because despite being crammed with time travel tropes, it was more consistent (and on that note, I apologize for the times when I was harsh on it, I have no excuse). Zero One, on the other hand, is a hot mess right now. Maybe even garbage. It’s likely in a couple of minutes or hours I’ll say “it’s a mess but it’s my mess. My garbage. My guilty pleasure.” Just not now. I’m already wincing at all the fic writing I have to do to compensate for this.

And if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to see if I can dunk my head into a bucket of ice water.

Hi, I hope you dont mind me asking this. How popular is your webcomic? I want to start one myself but Im worried it wont gain any traction and I'll lose motivation :(

I currently have a few hundred active/mostly active readers, 200-ish of which actively follow the webcomic’s blogs and an estimated 100 or so more who read it without following. I only know of these readers’ existence because I know there are several dozens of people who I, friends of mine or followers of mine shared the comic with and who read it actively though they don’t have Tumblr accounts.

I don’t get much fanart or fanworks yet and new creators shouldn’t expect much of that either, fanbases are a difficult thing to build. Then again, my comic is only in Chapter 1 so there’s not much for fans to work with anyway. 

I’ve been hosting my webcomic for about a year, though only around 6 or so months ago did I actually start regularly posting new pages. I haven’t advertised it outside of Tumblr, a little bit on Discord and at school because I’m waiting to move the webcomic to its own website rather than just keep it on Tumblr.

You should keep in mind that I had several big advantages right off the bat, those being having big groups of friends who got invested in my webcomic and shared it with other people, running several blogs with large followings that helped me boost the comic and running a very active Discord server where sometimes I’ll find people interested in webcomics. Without these things it would have been significantly harder for my project to get any traction.

Your comic isn’t going to get any traction on its own unless you advertise it to hell and back. Create popular content that will help your accounts grow so that you will have a larger viewer base seeing your promos, get into groupchats, talk about it on several different social medias, etc. It’s frankly the only way to go about it. 

More detailed tips to follow:

-Create memes for big fandoms. From my experience, memes get you more followers than fanart ever will. My most popular fanart  only has 2k notes, meanwhile my most popular fandom meme has 100k notes (decapitated Dumbledore, anyone remember that? haha…………… 😔👊). It’s pretty sad but it’s a reality we artists face.

-Create art memes! That way you can share your art WHILE being funny. I must say though… These are always a hit or miss. One post you may get 10 notes and another you may get thousands. My biggest hit of this genre was this (at 40k notes):

-TAG THE SHIT OUT OF YOUR POSTS PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD IT’S THE ONLY WAY PEOPLE WILL SEE YOUR STUFF PLEASE SPAM THOSE TAGS PLEASE PLEASE PLEA 

-Find forums, groupchats, communities, etc where it would be relevant to share your projects at. Reddit, Deviantart and Discord are quite useful.

-Promote your content by doing exchanges. For example, draw something for every new follower you get or something along those lines.

-Join other artists’ contests and competitions. Maybe even an organization’s contest. The prize doesn’t really matter for the discussion here, but winning will help you get exposure. I am currently participating in a videogame development tournament in my country. If I win, not only will I get a full scholarship, I’ll give my skills and projects exposure.

-You can also just create your own contests and competitions, though you’ll be the one giving away prizes then. Running a contest will definitely get you several followers though, so there’s that.

-If any of your friends shows interest in your project, ask them if they could share it with other people. Don’t put too much pressure on them, like, that’s a shitty thing to do, but asking doesn’t harm anyone.

-Additionally, get out there, meet new people. You never know when you’ll come cross someone who may be interested in helping you spread your project around.

-Don’t stress out. No matter how much time you spend promoting your creation, it’s still going to take ages to build a viewer base.

The first arc of IDW is nothing but a stream of constant Neo swag, while Lanolin has to fight for panel-time in her still-ongoing proper debut arc.

REASONS LANOLIN DESERVES TO BE SONIC TRANSFEM SWAG CHAMPION:

ONE: Lanolin's existence upgraded Whispangle, an already extremely T4T ship, into a polycule.

TWO: She is equally emotionally damaged as everyone else in IDW, and we didn't even know it. All of her character interactions showcase an empty shell done with the world.

This is a face that has Seen The Horrors.

THREE: The cutesy little cowbell she wears IS A WEAPON. A DEADLY ONE.

Not only can it shoot sonic blasts...

Obviously, Metal knows that without our support, her girlfriend doesn't stand a chance. Metal has had this in the bag for several rounds, but wants her love to be happy (Lanolin needs some happiness in her life.) So voting for Lanolin is actually what Neo Metal Sonic would want you to do.

And yes, Lanolin is dating Metal IN ADDITION TO Tangle and Whisper. And Breezie too, as @whisper-and-tangle can attest!

(Also can I mention that after Sonic got flirty with Lanolin in their first interaction, the idea of Metal cucking him makes the ship 10 times funnier)

And finally, SEVEN, the ultimate power, it worked twice and it will work again, THE POST IN THE HISTORY OF MY BLOG:

And with that... I have exhausted all the T4T Lanolin power I could.

As of present, I know I alone cannot possibly push her to victory, not when the dedicated Neo Metal Girlboss fandom stands together and I stand alone.

But in this coming week, with the reveal of Metolin and Metal's endorsement of her T4T GF, I can see a light. The same cyan-and-magenta light that got Lanolin here to the finals, that let her defeat Blaze, Sally, the lesbian cat from Fleetway, Barry, and the Conductor's Wife.

In no other Sonic tournament would Lanolin have ever gotten this far. Through our swag, we have guided the PTSD sheep to the finals, where she faces an opponent far beyond any of the surprise victories she scored thus far.

An opponent who, as discussed, is rooting for her to beat her.

But in spite of that cheering, Lanolin and me alone cannot leave an impact - not when a million more wonderfully edited Neo propaganda images will be in this post's notes by tomorrow morning.

And if it's not enough, then that's fine! They're a couple, and whoever loses will be very happy for her GF and just have to be the one to pay for the Transfem Queen Cake (baked with estrogen.)

Week05/06 - “Something Awesome” Update

Foreword

Didn’t get time to make a dedicated week05 blog post as I had a bunch of other commitments that week - including the mid-term for 6841 so I’ve combined the work I did over the past 2 weeks into this one post.

After considerable tossing and turning on my part I have decided to not actually send out my phishing emails due to the considerable ethical grey area constituting me spamming out emails without the recipients consent (I would need more email addresses than I could possibly get “permission” to spam to make any real conclusions). So instead, I will be send phishing emails to myself and analyse the techniques used in deceiving the recipient (in this case, myself). 

Phishing Email 1 - basic phishing

This phishing scam is designed to emulate common email subscription services, which for many users are a mild nuisance as they often spam out emails. These email subscription services often have an unsubscribe button which recipients generally trust and click without thinking too much of it, however in this case a phisher would hide their hack within the link.

The email uses the following phishing techniques:

Link Manipulation - a hacker could hide their website within either the “click here” link or the “unsubscribe” link, which many users will click without inspecting where the link actually leads.

Social Engineering - many people receive emails similar emails to this phishing emails that aren’t malicious so most people would trust the integrity of this email (an example of social cues - i.e. believing the phisher would not act maliciously and manipulate the links). 

This phishing email would likely end up in the spam inbox of most email providers so would likely not be that effective. It is also not specifically targeted at any individuals or group (spear phishing) so would have a low ratio of success/emails.

Phishing Email 2 - soft spear phishing

In this phishing email I have copied a legitimate email from CommBank and altered the message and added a link to my “fraudulent website”. As CommBank has millions of users in Australia, it would likely be effective despite not being spear phishing. This email while not being sent out to a specific group is targeting a specific group (that being CommBank users) so will be most effective on them, and is thus a form of soft spear phishing.

The email uses the following phishing techniques:

Link manipulation - “here” takes the recipient to the hackers fraudulent website. Also the email is from <no-reply@comnbank.com.au> which at a glance would not be obvious it is fake.

Website forgery - the hacker could copy the html of the actual CommBank website to create a phony login page or page where they enter their credit card details, and then put this website on the end of their link to amplify the scam.

Again, this email would likely end up in the spam inbox, and would only really be effective on CommBank users. Also the user would be able to verify the integrity of the email by going to NetBank (as it says in the footer). However the email is designed to trigger an emotional response in the recipient (they believe they have already been hacked) and quickly click the link without taking the time to verify the integrity of the email.

Phishing Email 3 - spear phishing

An effective spear phishing attack could involve analysing the social media accounts of a potential victim and posing as an old friend by using personal information you’ve gained on their accounts. This takes more effort than a normal phishing scam but is generally more effective. An example of this is:

The phisher writes in a casual style to try and get the target to let their guard down as many phishing emails are phrased in a very robotic, formal way. Furthermore, he uses the photo from Facebook to “prove” the authenticity of the email as many people don’t believe they will ever be hacked let alone that a hacker would put that much effort into hacking them. The effectiveness of this phish relies on who the hacker chooses to impersonate as if it is out of character the target will likely realise. Also this type of scam is more successful if the phisher knows the target personally as they can socially engineer them more effectively (i.e. it would be pretty easy to socially engineer someone you were friends with and hack them through phishing).

This is just a simple example of a social-media based spear phishing scam, but the possibilities are really endless based on the amount of information people leave public online.

Phishing Email 4 - whaling

Whaling is like spear phishing except focuses on targeting high value targets like CEO’s or Government officials and as such requires a great deal of work and skill to pull off when compared to normal phishing.

A possible whaling scam would involve gaining access to a lower-level employee’s company email account (as they are likely not as switched on security-wise as a CEO or CFO) through social engineering or breaking into a companies office, etc. and using this email to pose as being part of IT or financials with an urgent email for the target. As this email is coming from an official channel and is urgent, the target will likely fall into the trap without checking the integrity of the email and the phish will be successful. Here is an example email:

This phish relies on baiting the CEO into quickly trying to protect their financial details without checking the integrity of the email, where they’ll open the “here” link where the hacker could hide malware in a word document using macros.

Phishing Email 5 - commercial phishing

One of the most successful, commercial phishing scams of recent years was the widespread 2018 World Cup phish which although not all perpetrated by the same individual or group was very effective. The phishing scam involved dubious messages promoting free tickets to the tournament, emails containing news and highlight reels about World Cup teams and players with malicious attachments and links, and scams claiming to offer free live streams of the action in return for filling out a survey or installing software. These scams used the contextually relevant event, that of the World Cup, and the fervor of fans to scam people and was very effective due to their also being many similar emails that weren’t malicious.

Instead of making my own phishing scam I’ll just look at one of the existing scams:

Above is an example of a bad phish as the language used is not very professional and it doesn’t seem like an email you’d receive from an actual company, however it may be effective on people who speak English as a second language.

While this again does not seem very professional, it targets the emotions of the recipient by making them believe they have won a free promo. It also uses a word file which generally gets past spam filters.

I’ll be making the malware that could be potentially attached to one of my phishing scams above and I might also create a website that records traffic (which was in my original brief before I decided not to send spam emails to other people).
