Since every student of Ravenwood can't be The Young Wizard:tm:, I like to imagine all manner of professions which both alumni and current students like to pick up to make use of their mana for the sake of contributing to their homes, other than immediately becoming scholars
Various inventors guilds that have popped up and collaborated with each other for all manner of creations to benefit the lives of civilians (or, just for the sake of testing the boundaries of knowledge).
Wizards working in local infirmaries and having small medical practices, coming up with unique ways of using healing magic to help magic and non-magic users alike.
Effects specialists, who make use of their powers to help with shows at venues such as Fireglobe Theatre and play around with illusory magic for entertainment purposes
Of course, wizards like Boris Tallstaff who work within local libraries as archivists and assistants– restoring older texts and helping scholars retrieve information thanks to magic sorting systems.
Spiral researchers-- those who study the flora and fauna, and look into the ways magic impacts them. Particularly those who know about the song of creation, seeing the ways in which traces of it can be found in natural settings as a recurring trend, and what this means for the spiral and those living in it.
#wizard101#original posts#wizzy hcs#most of this is just the kind of ideas ive had in my brain for my ocs for a while now teehee

i genuinely feel like that out of ALL the ravenwood professors, regardless of school, the yw becomes closest to cyrus. the entire malistaire/dragonspyre and azteca ordeals, it all caused the two to share a mutual understanding and develop some sort of a connection. perhaps something more of a father-child connection than what the wizard had with ambrose. (or older sibling/younger sibling, whatever ur interpretation is)
cyrus stopped seeing the wizard as some random child, and the wizard began to understand why cyrus is the way he is. anyone in his shoes would have turned out the same way. cyrus' silly attempt at trying to get the wizard expelled at the beginning? it only makes them laugh now.
whether or not the yw is a myth wizard, he was proud to see them graduate regardless. but he also felt a deep and profound sadness because of all they've gone through.

Self Indulgent Dyvim Whitehart posting:
Dyvim is autistic! Shout out to my friend, @WickedLittleYumi for sharing her insight with me!
Wears his heart on his sleeve and, by nature, tends to take other people’s words at face value. Of course, given the type of world he grew up in, he knows he has to be very careful with who he trusts and shows kindness too. How else do you think he would come to trust and work with the Wizard so easily?
Dyvim confuses Hop for a type of measurement when discussing “How many Horned Limes are in a Hop?” in the Khonda Desert (which to be fair, I would be confused too)
Has a strong sense of justice, which apparently tends to be common among people on the spectrum.
Occasionally, others complain of how loud he is; volume control is something Autistic people can struggle with.
He occasionally misunderstands social queues or when is the right time to say certain things. Most notably, when he decides to outwardly say out loud to Zarozinia that he and the Wizard are her and Zaltanna’s allies in Fort Rachias in front of Umbra Legion soldiers. Of course, he’s worked very hard at trying to not do that over the years (he kinda has/had to in the environment he grew up in otherwise for…obvious reasons).
He may occasionally mutter his thoughts aloud without meaning to.
While before I headcanoned his aversion to meat and fish due to potential fear of eating his own kind, I think that he also has sensory issues related to those food groups, mostly smell (As seen in the siege of Fort Rachias and the Karamelle Prequest). As someone with my own sensory issues and trauma related to foods, it makes sense!
Dyvim’s special interest is in history, mostly with Khrysalis’s old times before the war and fall of Bastion. (I don’t think anyone else brings up the Old Times as much as he does.)
And uh yeah, if there’s anything I missed or anything you want to point out, let me know!
#funny how my Headcanons and what not tend to change and morph over time#I didn’t actually think Dyvim was neurodiverse until I talked with Yumi about it#wizard101#w101#npc#wizzy fandom#wizzy101#dyvim whitehart#dyvim#original post#headcanon#may or may not be projecting a bit of my own autism in here too#but yeah yumi when you read this thank you for your insight!#dyvim is the best#of course these are technically still theories or hcs#at least until either KI denies or confirms them#but if KI was smart they would confirm this for realsies

hey i’m from the “they made stallion quartermane real” post and i saw u know a lot about horses
would you be willing to share more horse facts? 👀
Oh geez, thank you haha! Admittedly, I wouldn’t say I know much about horses, I just love to google animal facts, always try and find real animals to directly base anthro characters on (so I do a lot of that for wizard guys, picking specific species / breeds ), and remember a bit from the ag classes I took in high school. Horse people feel free to correct me but take what I’m saying here with a grain of salt. I’m trying to back up everything I’m saying with some cursory google searches but I am far from a horse expert 😭
Because Stallion was brought up I guess I can talk about anything I mildly know / hc regarding him? For example I went with the Irish Cob for my personal hc for him (these guys have 1000 names. You might have heard them called the Galineers Cob, the tinker horse, or about 5 other names all of which have slurs for Romani peoples in them l, but seem to be what they’re most commonly known as. I tend to go for Irish cob)
They’re a draft breed from the Great Britain and Ireland, and while wizzy doesn’t always fully 1:1 where their anthros are from, it’s a bonus for me. (Soley off of physical descriptions, he could be a Suffolk punch as well … hmm)
I say he’s based on a draft breed, which you can tell from the leg feathering he has, which from my understanding whole all horses have some, the really prominent leg feathers are a trait characteristic of draft breeds. (Also I just personally really prefer draft breeds myself, I like how big and heavyset they are.) From what I can gather, this is because the gene that causes them to grow so prominently is tied to bone density, and draft horses bred for strength to pull plows and carriages have much thicker bones than lighter horse breeds that have been bred more for speed.
Irish Cobs are characteristically hairier than other breeds, which is why they’re known to grow those mustaches. (Googles telling me it’s mainly because of how hairy they are, but they also might help add added sensation to their lips to help them browse for food) The mustache and beard really made me go yeah that’s the stupid horse for me, plus they come in the coloration with blonde-whitish manes and tails and a reddish body color, called flaxen chestnut from what I can find (though maybe its closer to some golden palominos? I don’t know)

Nothing else particular interesting is coming to mind unfortunately. Stallions weird boots he wears kind of resemble certain types of boots made for actual horses? I’m finding conflicting reports on what these are used for. Some places saying tendon support, others saying there’s nothing to support that, and they’re used to correct gait abnormalities. Either way. Stallion do you have bad ankles. It’s ok you can tell me.
(Also stallion has a boot tread texture on the bottom of his hooves, but I think this is stupid so I ignore it. Especially because the snow shoes we see in madness mountain have horse shoes attached to them, what’s the truth kingsisle?!? But I think it’s a funny detail to point out anyway.)
I googled fun horse facts to try to find anything else I could offer, and one of these fact Infographics said “baby horses drink milk” which is hysterical to me to point out as a fact.
#giant shirt that says ask me about my unnecessary species headcanons#I guess#hi I don’t think this is anything what you asked for but! it’s what I can offer you#I fear I might have come off as more horse knowledgeable than I am. I just like googling shit about animals all the time#asks#daseiins

The Schools Giving Up
When the diviner gives up, they’re frustrated. They scream into their fist with anger, their lips curled in a petrified snarl as they drop their tool or weapon of choice with a bitter tinge to the twitch of their fingers. They tried so hard too, and yet it was all for nothing because they can’t get one single thing right, and they’re not surprised if they hear faint, muffled laughter around them. With hot, frustrated tears and sparking twitching fingers that grab at their head as they recede into themself, all of the feeling draining away in a whirlpool until they’re numb, and they just don’t care about the world crashing around them.
When the thaumaturge gives up, it’s with an empty panic. They collapse and stare into nothing and for once do nothing, strangely enough without the usual restlessness. They watch the world around them descend into chaos or never change at all, and a rush of cold creeps through them glacially, making their lungs burn with it. They breathe out, and it feels like they breathe their magic out with it, the white cloud shimmering as small blue snowflakes of magic flutter in the wind. The focus on the metallic slivers of their magic, and everything else feels like it’s falling away as they let go.
When the pyromancer gives up something in them dies. That brilliant spark in their eyes dims, their shoulders slump just enough to make them feel small, they hang their head. Their shaky exhale becomes a noxious cloud of smoke, burning up their throat and out their nostrils and mouth like a bad cigarette, a bitter cigar to chew on. Embers rest on their tongue, and they feel it poison them, racing through their veins with a faint flash of adrenaline. Their own magic urges them to get up, hurting them with no other option, but they shake their head, helpless.
When the necromancer gives up they collapse, a puppet with its strings slashed suddenly, barbarically. They barely break their fall, letting their limp joints crackle and hurt, sure to bruise. Their eyes darken to black sightless voids, and their heart beats frantically for life. But that’s a battle, the death wizard is on the fence, waiting to decide whether to just stop, or let their heart beat on, to get up. They move stiffly as they push themself up, their neck perilously bared as they sit up, lean all their weight back, and wait.
When the conjurer gives up they smile grimly, because they knew everything lead to an end, and this was theirs. They have an intuition for these things, because knowing the future isn’t all tea reading and tarot, because nothing works that way. Maybe now wasn’t ideal, but they were still ready, a cold sinking feeling in the middle of their chest, the despair clouding their thoughts. Their goodbyes were already said, because the just know these things, and cannot stop them. They gave up a long time ago.
When the theurgist gives up they don’t want to. Their practicality as a healer screams at them, their compassionate humanity screaming back, because they cannot stand to lose patients, they cannot stand to have blood on their hands in a way they can’t clean off. With their shaking hands and hesitancy, they know what must be done. Theurgists don’t give up unless it’s a life they could save, because letting go isn’t something the life school teaches. Yet they still have to learn it someday
When the sorcerer gives up, they don’t accept it. Denial shakes the words spilling out their mouth, the unmeasured syllables becoming thoughtless pleas and pathetic cries. They’ve transformed from the calm mediator to a wizard overwhelmed with emotion, for once reminded that they’re still a student. A balance wizard is someone dedicated to the equilibrium of the Spiral, someone entrenched in realism as they quest forward into life. Now they see no other option but to allow themself to yield, to fall in, spiraling through a void-like air inside themselves. They try to accept what they’re doing, and fail.

~Divine Kids HCs (+ WizBat)~ (Fluff/Domestic)
I needed to get these written down because I have the memory capacity of a floppy disk and I didn’t wanna lose them because THERE’S SO MANY
Also I am so sorry if some of these aren’t worded properly, I’m not good at words and stuff and I’ve never done headcanons before
Pls remember that none of these are canon, they’re just summaries of what I would think would happen based on in-game behavior and what-not =============================================================
-Bat is naturally very curious, like a 7ft-8ft tall floppy-eared information sponge
-Mellori is two parts irritating sister and 4 parts true bestfriend with a heaped teaspoon of sass and “Take no shit”
-Bat pays full attention when the Wizard is talking about Earth, asks a lot of questions once the Wizard is done talking. Will wait to ask questions even if the Wizard has a habit of rambling and going on twenty different tangents and topics
-If the Wizard is reading a non-fiction book they’ve teleported into the Spiral from Earth (courtesy of a spell from Merle, used to teleport small-medium objects from other worlds), Bat has a habit of sneakily trying to read it over their shoulders, occasionally spooking the absolute hell out of the Wizard because they were also immersed in reading the book and didn’t notice him standing there
-Bat is cathemeral, but because the Wizard and Mellori aren’t (I like to think all three live together in the Wizard’s house), he generally tends to follow a diurnal sleep schedule because he’d feel bad if he woke anyone up at an unholy hour because he decided to make dinner at 12am
-He tries to downplay it when Mellori asks about it, but Bat frets over the Wizard if they’re a workaholic or if they often forget to take care of themselves (eating, sleeping, etc.), ESPECIALLY if he learns just how much crap they’ve been through both on Earth and in the Spiral
-Very rarely does Bat get truly mad over Mellori’s teasing him of his crush on the Wizard, UNLESS the Wizard is around and then he gets panicky and snappy because he’s afraid Mellori might alert the Wizard to his feelings for them if they aren’t already aware
-After being in complete and utter isolation for so long (with probably only his brothers for company), Bat gets overwhelmed by busy areas and much prefers being away from city-type places. If possible, he prefers to be either underground or in nature
-Bat would wear a flower crown made by the Wizard but would be reluctant to wear it around anyone else other than the Wizard out of fear of his feelings for them being found out
-If the Wizard is very short, Bat would 100% make jokes about them having to keep up with him and/or Mellori when walking, but would also scoop them up and put them on his shoulder so that they didn’t have to run to keep pace
-Gives a lil’ Bat smile if one of his jokes lands and makes the Wizard laugh
-Mellori would definitely try to take both Bat and the Wizard to Polaris (or just anywhere where there’s things to do) regularly to do fun stuff, like Ice Skating and Snowman making, especially if the Wizard has depressive episodes (she doesn’t want them to be stuck inside all day because it’s not good for them) or hasn’t really had the opportunity to do many recreational activities
-Divine Kids Slumber Parties at the Wizard’s House? All the time. Animated movies from Earth, snacks, pajamas, spa stuff, etc. included
=============================================================

unless there's something in-game that confirms otherwise, i had always imagined that suzie, artur, nolan, ceren, duncan, the other students we saw in cyclops lane, and the wizard are all in one class and attend classes together save for their respective magic classes. there was lizzo in firecat alley but it was explicitly stated that she was a third-year so they couldn't have been in one class.
i've always wondered WHY it was only suzie and ceren from all the other ravenwood students we've seen that actually attended the wizard's graduation ceremony? mr. lincoln said that a graduation ceremony at ravenwood doesn't happen often and that he "can't recall the last time it happened" but wtf happens to all the wizards studying there then. do they just... stay at ravenwood forever lol. or did i miss something
it was also stated that the wizard's graduation is "long overdue" so my headcanon that's going to stray from canon a bit, is that basically yw's class graduated way before the yw themselves did (duncan is a bit iffy cause i forgot when exactly he defected to the schism) while yw was away in khrysalis doing spiral-savin' stuff, and ceren and suzie just stayed behind helping at ravenwood. that's how i can make it make sense to me idk!

Khrysalis Funeral Headcanon:
Whenever one of their own dies, the Burrowers (and by extension the Sugar Gliders) plant something in honor of their fallen brethren. Usually, it would be a nice tree or the deceased’s favorite flowers.
But they plant something near or above where they buried as opposed to placing a tombstone on top of their resting place. They do this because it symbolizes life beginning anew after death; One life surrenders so another’s can begin. And with new life, it keeps on fanning the flames of hope amidst the shadows of despair.
With so much of Khrysalis crystallized and deforested, the Burrowers and their allies believe it is their duty to help Khrysalis regrow and heal from the ravages of the 100 year war and Morganthe’s reign.
This funeral practice also serves as a reminder to never take peace for granted, and to remember the scars of the past so that Khrysalis never bleeds war again.
Some other notes:
- Because Dyvim technically escaped death, he will (probably) have two funerals with Sunflowers planted in his honor as opposed to one funeral. Unless he’s somehow made immortal lmao.
- The Burrowers of Khrysalis will absolutely plant something in honor of the Spellbinder should they die. (The Wizard may or may not be immortal, they are the Divine Paradox after all.) As to what they plant…well, that depends on the Wizard. You can reblog and add in the tags/replies what tree or flower you’d want planted after you. Or don’t.

I personally have a lot of feelings about this and I'm about to go full on Autism Mode™ and tell you all of them!
Ok so I’m starting with Myth because that’s me and definitely the one I can go most in depth with. Without a doubt I believe that the closest thing would be the Bard College of Spirits. In my personal hc, Myth wizards are the classicists or folklorists of the world, the anthropologists devoted to the study of myths and legends. I believe that they use this knowledge as a source of power or a focus for their magic. According to the dnd5e wikidot:
“Bards of College of Spirits seek tales with inherent power-be they legends, histories, or fictions-and bring their subjects to life. Using occult trappings, these bards conjure spiritual embodiments of powerful forces to change the world once more. Such spirits are capricious, though, and what a bard summons isn't always entirely under their control.”
This essentially summarizes the way I think of Myth wizards/magic.
I'll list out the rest of the schools here with brief explanations:
Fire: Circle of Wildfire Druid. I've always thought of Fire magic very similarly to how Firebending works in ATLA, an element of power and passion that directly correlates to the emotions of the user (I'm not sure how to explain this, but it is the difference between rage driven fire magic, determination, love, etc.) and was once taught by dragons. As a Circle of Wildfire Druid, your soul bonds with a Wildfire Spirit, granting you both destructive and creative power. I feel like the spells of the Fire wizard could be interpreted as the summoning of the Wildfire Spirit taking on different shapes/forms. "Some spirits take the form of a humanoid figure made of gnarled branches covered in flame, while others look like beasts wreathed in fire." (dnd5e wikidot). Alternative option(s): Sorcerer with fire Draconic Bloodline
Ice: There aren't any particular good options in D&D for an ice based character that's also a tank. Immediately I think of Wizard or Sorcerer for the ice type spells, but I feel like neither really encapsulate the wizarding school of Ice, known for their persistence, patience, and strength. However, I feel as though there is a class that is known for these traits: Paladin. I feel like there are a few subclasses that would work, but the Oath of Redemption has patience as one of their tenets, so I feel as though that one would be where I'd go with this. I'd say that to fit Ice in the best way possible, one would have to multiclass Paladin and Sorcerer. Alternative option(s): School of Evocation Wizard, Ranger (Arctic) with defense fighting style
Storm: Speaking of sorcery, Storm Sorcery is a subclass you can play in D&D that is basically what is says on the package. Since the W101 school of Storm also has a focus on creativity and innovation, as well as the use of Verses to "charm, enthrall or hypnotize creatures to help them" (according to the official lore), those would probably be kept in mind while picking out spells, like focusing on enchantments, for example. Alternative option(s): Path of the Storm Herald Barbarian, Tempest Domain Cleric
Life: Okay so obviously the first choice that I think of is Druid, however, I'd make an argument for Bard once again, possibly multiclassing Bard/Druid. Why? Because Life magic in W101 uses the power of the Song of Creation which happens to align with the Bard College of Creation, which literally uses the power known as the Song of Creation. There could furthermore be arguments for Cleric being a good class for a Life wizard, as there are the subclasses of Life Domain and Nature Domain. Basically, I can't settle on just one thing for Life, but I also feel like that makes sense. According to the official wizzy lore, "Life is spirit, the force of awareness and existence. It is about constant growth and movement," and I feel like that as a concept could both fit many different paths and be accepting of said many different paths. Alternative option(s): I pretty much covered it already
Death: In D&D you can quite literally play a Death Wizard by being a Wizard in the School of Necromancy, which explores the cosmic forces of life, death, and undeath. I'm not going to explain more than I need to, it is exactly the same in my opinion. You even get a feature called "Grim Harvest" where you gain the ability to reap life energy from creatures you kill with your spells, a lot like some of the Death spells in W101. It's the same. That's all there is to say it's literally the same thing. Alternative option(s): Death Domain or Grave Domain Cleric, Way of the Long Death Monk, Phantom Rogue, Undead or Undying Warlock
Balance: The first thing I thought of was Monk, and I do think that some aspects of that class work with Balance, as they are essentially magically balancing their body and mind. If you are a Balance wizard and tend to go for the elemental spells, the Way of the Four Elements Monk would probably work for you. However, I think the class that fits the most would probably be the Arcana Domain Cleric, which is essentially a type of Cleric that works with deities of knowledge and arcana, studying magic itself in its many facets. Alternative option(s): Order of Scribes Wizard
w101 schools as d&d 5e classes and subclasses?
