Notion is the answer!!
It's like making a webpage for your wips but you don't have to code anything (!) And it's free (!)
It combines note-taking, databases, calendars, and to-do lists. You can build exactly what you need—a writing hub, a plotting database, a journal, or a complex project tracker. You can add text and images and playlists and videos, embed pages within pages, and make custom databases for all sorts of things. It's rather great, really (i am biased)
The only shortcoming with Notion is that you start with a blank canvas, and have to build everything yourself. The learning curve can be steep, so I suggest you find some templates to start with.
Talking of which, may i interest you in:

A dark academia project template
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The same but in a different font, and a bit neater

A master page, a writing hub where you can develop multiple books at once
(Did you notice I made a gradient?)

Disease Template
Because you are a sick bastard that wants to maim, injure and kill thousands or millions or even billions of people characters in your story.
I did a ton of research to create this list. And I'm probably the only one really interested in it. I created the three major classes: Parasites, viruses, and bacteria. I also considered genetic factors.
I looked up a lot of wikipedia pages on various diseases, looked up parasites of various types (the type that kill, maim and bother), looked up CDC pages, and also fictional diseases to make sure I wasn't missing anything.
Cholera, foot and mouth, Scarlet fever, Huntington's chorea, Huntington's, Foot and Mouth, etc. So Congenital and pandemic type—you have to strike off items of made up congenital/genetic diseases, but that shouldn't be too difficult. (N/A it)
Slight note here, but I am kinda sick (haha) of people using Zombie virus type of things to reinforce colonialism, Neoliberalism, and pro-oppression narratives. Haha, white person getting attacked by zombies because they are going to take over and that white person is a Southern US person doesn't quite read like you think it does considering that zombies were an allegory about becoming slaves. Looks like a slave uprising, in which case, the zombies should win over that white person's butt. The original Zombie Mythology was supposed to do the exact opposite. I would hope that people would honor and remember what the original mythology was about.
So when you do diseases, etc, think about *how* you are going to portray it and the people who have it carefully. I've done some of that work. Also, this isn't ND sort of things or creating a new ND. Creating a new ND, I think takes a lot more knowledge and thought since it doesn't affect everyone.
Should not have to be said, but please don't steal the template and then say "I came up with this idea". I genuinely took weeks of research to come up with this list. It's free, link it/reblog it if you like it.

Obsidian Writing Vault (v2)
Tumblr media
I've added a section to the readme that covers Property Types, since these may (or may not) automatically set themselves, and if they don't this'll really save a headache.
I also added two new templates (this being one of them), a new folder, and updated the Creatures template with a new property.

Writers of November!
I know a lot of us are writing this month, out of habit, tradition, for the challenge we enjoy--and I want to do my part to help support us as a community. For that reason, all the writing guides and templates in my Ko-Fi shop are 40% off for the month of November with the discount code: SUPPORTWRITERS
I definitely recommend the 'Troubleshooting Your Novel' guide, for if and when you ever get stuck and need some help figuring out what to do next!
Good luck and happy writing to everyone doing a challenge this year, whatever form that takes! And if you've decided not to, then I still hope your November is fun and full of community! Thanks everyone!

Found a really neat and pretty character template on Pinterest a few days ago. Thought I’d share. Maybe it can help a fellow writer.

"Hey, Bruce. Just needed to pick up some— Damian, what happened to you?"
Damian glares across the room. Dick stares at his black eye, unabashedly confused. Bruce just fights the urge to sigh.
"He got into an altercation with Roy Harper," Bruce reveals finally, and understanding blooms on Dick's face.
"Ah."
"I was defending your honor, Richard!" Damian seethes, slapping away Bruce's hand. "And anyway, this is nothing compared to the tomfoolery that takes place atop the Watchtower. You should see them go at it, as though they were common schoolchildren and not respected superheroes holding the fate of the world in their hands."
"And how is that different from you starting a fight with Roy?"
Damian scoffs, face turning red. "He had it coming."
Dick smiles for a moment, and then sighs. "This whole situation is causing way too many problems, isn't it."
"I don't know," Tim says, a smirk on his face. "All of Young Justice is on your side, Dick. I'd say this whole ordeal has brought us all closer together."
Cass nods, grinning. "And we are more... united than ever."
Bruce is just glad someone is getting something out of this. Because he sure isn't.

"Well played, Grayson," muttered Roy, as Lian happily licked the large lollipop in her hand. Next to her was a little piece of paper that simply said 'Gotcha.' And all Roy could do was shake his head, amused.
"Well played."

20 Alternative Losses Your Protagonist Can Face That Don't Involve the Death of a Person.
In one of my recent posts, I talked about losses as a core principle in driving a plot forward.
Tumblr media
It's recommended in almost all guides. But here's the thing: someone doesn't have to actually die to create that emotional rollercoaster.
Here are 20 different losses your protagonist can face without losing someone to the cold hands of death:
1. Loss of a dream job opportunity
2. End of a long-term relationship or marriage
3. Betrayal by a close friend or family member
4. Financial ruin or bankruptcy
5. Loss of a beloved pet (The pet could go missing.)
6. Rejection from a prestigious program or institution
7. Injury or illness leading to the loss of physical abilities
8. Destruction of a childhood home
9. Loss of custody of a child
10. Failure to achieve a lifelong dream or goal
11. Being falsely accused of a crime
12. Natural disaster destroying personal belongings and home
13. Loss of a valuable family heirloom
14. Experiencing discrimination or injustice
15. Being forced to move away from a beloved community
16. Losing a significant competition or contest
17. Loss of memory or cognitive abilities
18. Falling out with a mentor or role model
19. Closure of a cherished local business
20. Loss of one's reputation due to scandal or rumor
Thank you for all of your support. If you love my blog, consider gifting me a rose. Val's here, and I hope your characters are ready to paint the town red.
Check out this printable template that helps you structure the nuanced parts of your plot you normally skip out on.
Tumblr media
You also receive a free add-on that enhances your plot. It saves you time and helps you maintain quality.
