Okay. A quick rant about what annoys me in Nevermoor, as a fantasy writer.

In Wundersmith, Thaddea is said to have a "thick scottish accent".

A scottish accent. In a FANTASY WORLD.

Is there Scotland in the Unnamed Realm? Is it like our Scotland or different? Did they also, for some reason, invent bagpipes and haggis? Will we ever get the answer to why there's a random scottish person in a completely fantastical setting? Or is Jessica Townsend trying to say that Scotland is a fae realm that just wound up on Earth by accident?

AND THEN HE WAS SHOCKED AND OUTRAGED WHEN SHE DECLINED.

Like sir, there is a recently made corps on the floor and she is surrounded by more people seconds away from death, and you are surprised she said NO???

hc that holliday wu plays match-maker with the older units a lot. she says that it's just because they're easier to market, but it's at least PARTLY for love of the game. like she sees two people sitting a bit too close and she turns to Carlos stonefaced like "make sure they have classes together." and being the best right hand man he is he just goes "on it boss🫡" and sprints over to their conductor. either this is how heloise and alfred got together or they just saw each other and decided that yeah menace energy matched that's the one

when mog was little and living with corvus in the republic, he would constantly keep one hand on her shoulder and steer her around in public, making sure she never goes too far and would tighten his grip immensely whenever she did something he didnt like (ie. speak, draw attention to herself, etc.). thats when she knew she was going to be in so much trouble when they got home.

now cue mog as a teenager, living in nevermoor, and shes freaking out about something or maybe having a panic attack and crying, and jupiter tries to comfort her by putting his hand on her shoulder.

is morrigan like angry a lot? Not in a bad way she just seems like she’s angry a lot in Silverborn (with good reason to be) and honestly I love this about her character it makes her seem so real and complex

I kinda love how Squall treats Morrigan as a capable Wintersmith AND a child at the same time, but Jupiter is just a rly overprotective girl dad. Squall: Yes, you can do the dangerous thing, with limitations Jupiter: NO DANGEROUS THINGS AT ALL
