ohhh... okay let's think about this. the only factor being changed is my access to money, everything else about the scenario would still have to be grounded in reality, not a Fantasy Scenario. because my fantasy scenario would be that I have a tiger. a big beautiful tiger. and he would love me very much and we would go on walks and I would get a king sized bed so he could sleep next to me. Option two is that I would swing the other way, go for an animal right at my fingertips, and find a way to get a baby raccoon. I can see this for me... I love a raccoon... or perhaps a skunk......... BUT because I'm actually very boring at my core, if I had unlimited money, I'm probably going to just be going after some expensive versions of the basics: cats and dogs, lmao. I would just be picking from the already-available breeds, but this time, with no concerns for money. I could get a high energy breed, maybe, because the newfound money would give me the ability to own some fucking horse property or something like that, to run them around on. here's the situation. I have a lot of dog breeds that I sigh longingly for. I want another golden. I have strong feelings about poms and dachshunds. but also. GOD. I would love to have an Irish Setter.

also I want a collie OR a sheltie. I want a lassie lookalike. a pretty baby just for me. (this is the one I'd need horse property for.)

as a swerve, also putting a cavalier king charles spaniel on the list. sort of like if a cat was a dog... not traditionally the long-beaked face I usually pick out when I look at dogs, but I know so many good things about them re: their sweetness and loving nature

and finally, when I'm finished picking from that selection, I'm getting one of those stupid looking cats with the noses and ears, the ones that look like vampires, and they sound like a bicycle horn.

How did she not have this issue w Ryoko? That’s because she was already comfortable with her current relationship w Ryoko and knew about her orientation, so she could wholeheartedly just accept any feelings as natural.

i have to say, i'm really not enjoying jon kent right now. it's not unusual for supers to hold others to impossible standards. but the thing is, jon's holding everyone to a standard he can't even meet himself. at least kara and clark actually live up to what they expect from others, and they give people room to mess up. jon? he's not giving anyone the benefit of the doubt. ever.

jon lacks any self-identity and latches onto people he sees as mirrors. then, the second they do something he doesn't view as "right", jon gets so offended you'd think he did it himself. and i guess that's been a theme with his character since the age-up. but it's more prominent now since before it was just his dad. at first, he was upset because he didn’t think his dad was doing enough, which is funny, considering clark is the impossible standard jon’s been chasing.

then it was jay, when he refused to forgive nia. now it's nia, who’s having a believable trauma response given what happened (not that she's right). jon is so caught up in his own stuff he can’t see past his nose. he is so self-centered. which, to be fair, is not unheard of with teens. he expected more from his dad because he expects more from himself. he wanted jay to forgive nia because, in his mind, if jay was upset with nia, it meant jay was upset with him too (something jay never actually said). now jon's upset with nia because he sees her as a mirror, so in his mind, her going "rogue" means he’ll eventually go rogue too.

and yeah, i get it. he’s a traumatized teenager who clearly doesn’t know how to deal with everything he’s been through. but still. he’s frustrating. and what’s more, he’s not even the only one acting self-righteous right now. jay is too. but the difference is, jay actually practices what he preaches. i love self-righteous characters as long as they are actually living up to what they expect from others. jon's not even close to that. he should go to therapy and give up the cape. or get a better character development.
