werebird AU - Arno x Connor
wanted to inform my kind audience that i've finally settled on a bird form that please me but most importantly
Connor's head is at perfect height to rest on Arno's tities (in his werebird form)
now we can work seriously 👏
#assassin's creed#ac thoughts#arno dorian#ratonhnhaké:ton#connor kenway#height chart#yep im way too into this au now#also quick height ref for myself#and i'm not really sure about official height but internet seems to agreed on 5'7 and 6'2 for them#like i know that comparing their heights to real historical figure is not the most accurate thing to do#but since Arno is a tiny bit taller than Napoleon and same thing goes for Connor being in the same height range as Washington#i'll roll with it

What type of villain are you?
No Moral Compass: You are cold, analytical, and you strive to be as objective as a person of flesh and blood can be. Either don't understand the concepts of good and evil, or you understand it perfectly and think it's a load of bull. Some may call you selfish, some may call you unfeeling, but you're just doing what you believe will yield the best results, plain and simple. Why bother with petty ideals of right or wrong when you can do what will actively help those you give a fuck about? Your goals may be selfish or noble or anything in between, but you will not let anyone make you feel like garbage for going after them. You couldn't care less about what people brand you as. You just care about getting shit done by any means necessary.

#[ et cetera. ] seems i came at a bad time. / no no; i think you couldn't have timed it better. 23:47:15. very punctual; kafka.#[ i always worry about these because even when they're accurate; there's always some little tidbits that firmly contradict the rest. ]#[ but this was pretty accurate all the way through apart from some approaches like 'think good/evil is a load of bull' because it's more..#[ complicated than that obviously. but in a general superficial gist-- yeah. that's it. ]#[ thing is-- she truly does play into the concept of that it doesn't matter to her how people perceive her or what they think she's like. ]#[ she's far past that. noble intentions for those she does care about or whether it's for selfish gains-- it simply doesn't matter. ]#[ if anything; having negative thoughts about her only means she's on your mind. it means you're unnerved but more importantly... ]#[ it means you remember her. it means she's crossed your mind. to someone like kafka-- that's only a gain. ]#[ the smiles she gave himeko and march 7th were genuine. but they only are for the extent that they are part of a game. ]#[ that's why they matter because she allows them to matter. she invites it. but beyond the games; she spares them no thought. ]#[ none whatsoever. ]#[ it's the same with something like a bounty-- it plays into this arrogance that she's perfectly aware that she has. ]#[ but ultimately yep-- what matters is the goal that she seeks and then throughout that journey... ]#[ the goals of those who she might become close to will come to matter as well. the stellaron hunters for example. ]#[ but even there-- some more than others. ]

Can you do one with petty Ghost King Danny where, when people really piss him off, he tells them when and how they die to screw with them mentally.
Phantom's eye twitched at the annoying man that was screaming in his face and spitting all over him with vitriol as he raged and ranted about his broken car or whatever.
Superman and Flash were starting to look at him in worry, also surrounded by angry citizens, but no one was as vicious as the man in front of him.
Phantom grimaced.
He'd have to take out the big guns. In a smooth motion, he took out a book from his abdomen and then started flipping it. He looked up when he finally identified the man and his family, who was looking red and purple in the face from being ignored.
Phantom then gave a small, mild smile. "Your father will collapse in three days from a heart attack. His heart surgery won't be successful and he'll die in exactly 6 days at 5:34 PM."
The man stared at him, pale faced and bug eyed.
Phantom turned around with a beaming smile. "Does anyone else want to know yours or your loved ones' fortunes?"
The raging citizens all quickly scattered.
The Justice League eyed Phantom with wariness.
A little less than a week later, they were staring at him in horror.
————
"Phantom," Batman asked one day. "Are you cursing citizens?"
Phantom blinked. He was in the middle of eating chocolate muffins with Flash. "Whaddya mean?"
He wiped away the crumbs from his mouth.
"The deaths that you've been predicting.... youve predicted several people's deaths so far and they have all been exactly accurate. Are they because you're cursing people?"
Even Flash turned to look at him.
Phantom shook his head and said, "No, I don't do much magic. I know when they die because it's part of my powers and jurisdiction when they cross over."
Flash stared at him. "... so you know when all of us die too?"
Phantom nodded. "Yep. Anyone and everyone."
There was an uncomfortable silence as everyone stared at him.
Phantom just blinked. "What?"
————
Green Lantern was being a nuisance again. He seemed to be in a particularly teasing mood because he kept bothering Phantom.
After the seventh comment about his height and "adorableness," Phantom had enough.
He turned to look him in the eye and pulled out his book again.
Everyone in the meeting room froze with wide eyes.
Phantom then began, not even reading the book.
"You will begin to cough in seven days..."
Batman smacked his face in exasperation just as Green Lantern started screaming amidst Phantom's cackling.

i'm recording this - um, while drinking a baja blast, so bear with me. okay, ready?

𐔌՞. .՞𐦯 saja boys x fem. manager reader
synopsis: you managed to get yourself a position as the manager for the newest boy band: saja boys. with the lines of professionalism and something more quickly becoming blurry, you find yourself in a position of something darker—not that you're aware of that, though. cw: lower case intended, not proofread, fic is a little more focused on baby's interactions b/c he's my favorite (whoops...), reader goes to the gym but idk if that's a cw, non professional relationships with people but who's surprised
authors note: first fic for kpdh!!! idk how i did with accurately portraying the characters, so plz bear with me on that lmao :( i hope you enjoy though, this was super fun to write!!! ALSO if any of you guys have any requests for kpdh pleaseeee send them in i wanna write more for these guys i'm sure not sure what 2 write lmao

۶ৎ how you managed to snag a job as a manager to the rising idols known as the saja boys? you have absolutely no idea.
۶ৎ you were a recent graduate (with a master's in marketing, thank you for asking) and were desperately filling out job applications in your condo
۶ৎ like desperate to the point where you weren't exactly looking closely as to who you would be working for - but seriously, who could blame you? you were pretty sure everyone did that anyone, at least you think
۶ৎ days passed after you pulled an all-nighter that was spent glaring into your computer screen, you received an email (and it wasn't saying that your amazon package had been delivered)
۶ৎ you honestly thought it was a mistake at first, but your name was written multiple times in the text, and what seemed to be classified information was being shared with you.
۶ৎ yep. you had applied to be a manager for a boy k-pop group, and you didn't even remember. and you were chosen.
۶ৎ a job is a job though, right?
۶ৎ after you filled out all the online paperwork they had already sent you to solidity your newfound position as manager, you went onto your phone to see who you even were going to be managing
۶ৎ turns out, you were going to be in charge of one of the current most popular k-pop groups right now
૮ ․ ․ ྀིა you let out a long breath as you watched a variety clip from tiktok play on your screen. the saja boys were all sitting in their respective seats, and answering questions when the interviewer asked. you honestly weren't even paying that much attention to what they were saying on the clip. your mind was more focused on the fact that these five were going to be the people you were now a manager for. a job is a job, was your thought as you closed at least twenty different webpages that were all talking about the saja boys.
۶ৎ the anxiety you were having for the first day on the job? levels beyond anything you had ever had; which was saying something, considering the terrifying laundry room in the basement of your condo complex
۶ৎ you sat in your car, which was parked in the staff parking lot, to this tall—almost skyscraper-looking building. you had the mirror down, and you were scanning your face and hair for any errors
۶ৎ your hair was neatly done. makeup intact (and no, you did not have lipstick on your teeth, you checked one too many times to be sure), your necklace hanging loosely from your neck, your outfit intact, and a vanilla scent still lingering around you from perfume
۶ৎ entering the building was a whole other ballpark. you had a friendly conversation with the receptionist (quin, her name was), and had managed to navigate to the right floor where the saja boys now were (the paperwork you filled out had said they would be moving locations frequently, but today it was in this building)
۶ৎ you had found the right floor, but you had in fact not found the right room from the get go
۶ৎ (you walked into a more than sexual photoshoot going on, but you, the photographer and the model all choose not to touch more on the subject)
۶ৎ after that interaction, you found the right room
۶ৎ though, upon entering, you concluded that you'd rather be in the previous room you were in rather than this one
૮ ․ ․ ྀིა your heels clicked on the floor as the doors automatically slid open, and all five pairs of eyes inside the room immediately went towards the sound. you paused in your steps at the attention now on you, though the confident look on your face didn't falter. the boy with teal hair—whom you recognized as baby from the extensive number of videos you watched before this day—tilted his head back slightly and looked you up and down, with one eyebrow raised. fun, he's an idol who also seems to be full of himself. how great. though, as you looked at the rest of them, their egos didn't seem much different, minus the one standing in the corner, seemingly wanting to be one with the shadows. the only one with non-colorful hair was the one to speak first. "you must be our new manager, correct?" he mused, eyes doing the same motion that baby seconds ago. you curtly nodded at him, hands awkwardly at your side. even with your degree, it seemed that your classes hadn't prepared students for first-day job stuff; that was your own to learn. he nodded in return. "great. i'm jinu," he introduced himself, even though you were fairly certain they all knew that you already knew them by name.
۶ৎ the rest of the boys introduced themselves, which included:
۶ৎ romance being dramatic and saying how you must've been an angel sent down from heaven to save them all (which all the others chuckled at, though you aren't sure why)
۶ৎ abby immidentially asking if you had seen his 'bod' as he put it while flexing, very obviously trying to get a reaction out of you
۶ৎ baby was leaning against a wall, now not looking at you, but rather a phone. he didn't look up, eyes simply set on the screen
۶ৎ (not that you minded at this point; he seemed to be the most egotistical out of them, maybe)
۶ৎ your head turned towards the last person in the room who hadn't introduced himself: mystery
۶ৎ jinu quickly intersected, though, and introduced mystery for him, which still got no reaction out of said boy
۶ৎ unlike what you were expecting, they didn't really well...lay down rules for you to follow?
۶ৎ like, no instructions, plan, nothing.
۶ৎ the one thing you did have, though—your tablet.
۶ৎ you had gotten one during your time at university, the device very, very helpful for studying, taking notes, basically anything
۶ৎ so, of course, you had brought it with you
۶ৎ the only sensible thing to do seemed to be to start from skratch with these guys
۶ৎ which meant new schedule, new dance routines, studios, showings, fanmeets—new everything.
۶ৎ the rest of your first day went fine, which meant you spent it glued to your tablet, figuring out where to even start
۶ৎ romance did approach you once, and flirted, which resulted in you staring at him blankly until he scooted away, mildly dejected
۶ৎ this setup became a routine for a short amount of time
۶ৎ you would go to whatever building they were set up in that day, walk around with your tablet shoved into your face, and have minimal interaction with all the saja boys
۶ৎ though with time, you started to notice a shift with the group of you
۶ৎ it started with romance, which wasn't too surprising, figuring he was the most social with you off the bat
۶ৎ he approached you one day, phone in hand, and was grinning ear to ear
۶ৎ you raised your eyebrow at him, but let him speak
۶ৎ romance had learned about the song cruel summer by taylor swift, and, according to him, he was now a die hard taylor fan
۶ৎ he then went into a rant about how you had to schedule a dance routine to this song for the rest of them, even though it wasn't one of theirs
۶ৎ it managed to happen - and romance was living life to the fullest during that routine
۶ৎ you also learned that he loved skincare
۶ৎ love is almost an understatement for his passion
۶ৎ you would see him in the studio, backstage before a show, almost anywhere, and he would be busy doing his skincare
۶ৎ he even had a jade face roller, which he would constantly use in-between fan signings
۶ৎ one day, he saw you eying him as he did his usual routine of ice rollers and jade rollers
۶ৎ so, naturally, he came up to you and offered a face massage
۶ৎ you stared blankly at him. "you go on in twenty minutes."
۶ৎ "so?"
۶ৎ that's how you ended up sitting on a couch with romance, more closer than necessary, with him gently massaging your face with his skincare products
۶ৎ "this is very, uhm - unprofessional, you know that right?" you asked, though you were making no move to stop the action from happening
۶ৎ he simply grinned in response. "who's stopping us, right?" he asked back
۶ৎ one of your most predominant notes of him on your tablet was written as such:
۶ৎ 'romance has a weird thing with shakespeare poems, or any "romance" poem in general, kinda weird, but it's who he is,"
۶ৎ this note came from when you found him backstage, reading a shakespeare poem with over the top emotions
۶ৎ he saw you, paused for a moment, stared back at you, and then continued his performance of the poem
۶ৎ you stayed and watched, lips pressed into a thin line, but as he finished and walked away like nothing happened, you let out a small laugh
૮ ․ ․ ྀིა "there you are," you sighed as you walked into a dressing room. he was sitting in front of a vanity, products covering every surface of the top. romance raised his eyebrows in mock surprise. "darling, where you," he dropped his voice down, "looking for me?" he asked, now looking at you through the mirror he was sitting in front of. you huffed and walked more into the room. "yes, i was in fact looking for you. because," you continued, before he could interrupt you, "you're on in thirty minutes, and i need to make sure that you're all good to go." he simply smiled in return. you stared back at him, pressing your lips into a thin line. "what?" you asked. romance didn't say anything, but got up and walked over to you. you raised an eyebrow at him, still staying silent. he now stood in front of you, and he reached a hand up. before you could process what he was doing, he pushed a piece of stray hair behind your ear.
۶ৎ "your shampoo smells good."
۶ৎ that's all he had to say for himself before he sauntered out of the room like he owned the place (and, knowing his net worth, he probably could)
۶ৎ you didn't blink for a few seconds
۶ৎ then, you pulled out your tablet, and jotted down a quick note
۶ৎ said note read: 'romance likes the smell of raspberry, but not the natural kind, the chemical kind in shampoo' and it had multiple question marks drawn next to it
۶ৎ and yes, you had started to keep notes on all the boys
۶ৎ not in a salker way, more in the way of you wanted to learn more about the people you now worked for, but you were too scared to ask them about themselves
۶ৎ so, you simply observed them
۶ৎ jinu loved cats. and tigers. and birds. but only those animals.
۶ৎ you had thought that since he seemed to like both cat like animals and birds, he would be fine with other animals
۶ৎ oh, you were very, very wrong.
۶ৎ at a fan meet, that was taking place outside, someone had brought their dog with them
۶ৎ when the fan got up to the table and was about to grab a signed poster from jinu, their dog jumped up across the tablet and proceeded to knock jinu over in his fold up chair
۶ৎ while the other boys (minus mystery, he just stared and tiled his head slightly) cackled at this, you, as their manager, had to handle it
۶ৎ the dog was on top on jinu, and was growling, but not attacking
۶ৎ luckily, you got the whole situation sorted out quickly, and handed the fan extra goodies to send them off with
۶ৎ not even a minute later, you were at your tablet, writing:
۶ৎ 'do. not. let. dogs. near. jinu. or jinu near dogs. they do not like him and don't think he likes them, don't know why'
۶ৎ you also figured out that he was clumsy.
۶ৎ clumsy to the point you didn't know if he was actually the leader of the group during performances or not
۶ৎ he would slip on seemingly nothing, and would especially slip and or trip on things that were especially there
۶ৎ this problem got to the point where you had a small first aid pack in your purse which you carried with you to any events the boys went to
۶ৎ you would need to start refilling the band aids at least once every week, so you don't run out
૮ ․ ․ ྀིა "you're good at this–you know that right?" you blinked. he stared. "at...what?" you finally managed, raising one eyebrow in question. jinu raised both his arms, gesturing with his hands to everything around you. "this. your job—you're good at it. and I appreciate it," he said before sighing. "i know we can be, well, a lot to put it lightly, so thank you." before you could interrupt, he continued, "thank you for being a good person." you smiled at him, ipad now forgotten in your lap. "thank you jinu. i love being with you boys, even if it is, interesting, saying the least," you breathed out a laugh as you finished, something shimmering in both your eyes and now your heart; not that you would say that out loud. "but, really, i love this job, so thank you for giving me this chance," he simply smiled in response, nodding his head once. he made his move to leave the studio room the two of you were in, and, as he passed you, he put a hand on your shoulder and gently squeezed. "don't forget that, please," you heard him muttered as he walked past you.
۶ৎ abby, you learned, took his diet very seriously
۶ৎ at first, you didn't know if he had a semi toxic manager before you because of how he ate
۶ৎ though, you quickly learned that was simply who he was
۶ৎ and, it slowly became your job to make sure his ingredients for his smoothies were always supplied in the fridge and the freezer of their main shared apartment (which was more like a penthouse, in your opinion)
۶ৎ not long after you started buying ingredients for him, you also started making them for him
۶ৎ abby would claim that the smoothies weren't the same without your 'magic touch' and were deemed undrinkable by him if made by anyone else
۶ৎ you quite literally had to come to a dance studio during one of their practices because of this
۶ৎ even though the owner happily provided accommodates (which included protein smoothies) to all the boys, abby wasn't having it
۶ৎ which meant that you were called down, there to rescue abby, with a newly made protein smoothie in your hands
۶ৎ and, once he figured out that you went to the gym on occasion?
۶ৎ you officially became his gym buddy - even if you weren't aware of this new situation
۶ৎ suddenly, you found that your saturday mornings were now being spent in a local gym with abby
۶ৎ cause it was totally normal to spend time with who you worked for outside of work, right?
۶ৎ since you were now with him more at the gym, you noticed that this man - who went to the gym at least once a day, didn't have an actual water bottle
۶ৎ he would prance around with a plastic water bottle in hand, and then throw it out when you two left
۶ৎ like did he even care about the environment?
۶ৎ probably not, considering he was who he was, but hey, you can dream he at least pays some mind to it
۶ৎ which is exactly why you gifted him with a reusable water bottle
۶ৎ it matched your own owala water bottle; unintentionally you swear
۶ৎ the bottle was a light blue with a pink top that matched his hair
۶ৎ abby now has acquired an emotional support water bottle
۶ৎ he didn't even just use it for the gym anymore
۶ৎ at dance studios, conventions, fan signings, in their apartment (penthouse, again), and even just out and about on the streets
۶ৎ you were looking at a fanpage of the saja boys, making sure that they weren't being canceled for god knows what, and you saw a picture of abby
۶ৎ he was walking around in the most casual outfit known to man (an outfit you had definitely not curated for him), sunglasses on, and owala water bottle in hand
۶ৎ in honestly didn't even look like he knew the photo was being taken of him, but it was cute nonetheless that he seemed to now carry the water bottle with him everywhere, even if he didn't need it
૮ ․ ․ ྀིა you grunted lightly as you placed the weight down, hand coming up to wipe the sweat off of your forehead. another one of your weekend mornings was being spent at the gym with abby; though you had little to complain about. as you took a quick sip from your water, abby came up to you. "your form is getting better with those," he said, beaming at you. you swallowed your water. "thanks abby, you've definitely been a huge help with that," you chuckled lightly, trying-and failing-to not admire him in his post gym workout look. you thought it was impossible for him to look any happier, but he managed to prove you wrong as he took in your words. "now i just think you're trying to butter me up, sweets," he laughed, hand going up to push his hair back. you rolled your eyes, but didn't disagree. your eyes went back to the weights that laid on the ground, and you decided you could do a few more minutes of a workout before calling it a day. as you started, you figured that abby would take his leave and head to the bathroom to freshen up before the two of you left, but the hand that was placed on your waist as you were bent down into a squat made you think otherwise. "here, let me help," you heard abby say from behind you. "your form is good, but..." he trailed off and put his other hand on your lower back. with light movements from his hands, he was able to make your body shift under his movements - and, before you knew it, he was walking back slightly, eyes now roaming your figure (not that you could see that though). "perfect," you heard him mutter. turning your head back slightly, you thanked him. "thanks abby, really don't know what i would do without you here," you joked. "probably would've ended up needing surgery for my spine at this point," you continued. he wasn't calling your form perfect, but who was he to tell you what he actually meant?
۶ৎ your relationship with mystery was...rocky at the start
۶ৎ after a while of being their manager, all the boys started to warm up to you
۶ৎ all of them but mystery
۶ৎ he would be there, be present, go to rehearsals and do everything that was needed of him, but that was it.
۶ৎ not that you minded - you figured he would come around eventually, and, you liked to remind yourself that these boys are who you work for, and not your friends, and he wasn't obligated by any means to try and become your friend
۶ৎ (though the line between coworkers and friends was blurring for everyone)
۶ৎ though, even with this thought, you attempted
۶ৎ it started before a fan signing
۶ৎ you were munching on matcha pocky, ipad in the other hand, scrolling through the rest of the days schedule and making sure everything was as it should be
۶ৎ then, you felt eyes watching you
۶ৎ you lifted your gaze from your tablet to the room, and quickly found mystery standing in the corner
۶ৎ and, even though you couldn't see his eyes, you could feel his stare
۶ৎ so like any normal manager would do, you lifted your box of pocky in his direction with a smile on your lips
۶ৎ "want some? there matcha flavor, not sure if that's your favorite or not - if you want another flavor i could run and grab some before the event," your ramble about pocky was cut short as mystery came up to you and grabbed one from the bag
۶ৎ he didn't say anything, just nodded at you and did a slight bow as thanks before walking back over to where he was
۶ৎ that was the day you learned mystery adored match anything
۶ৎ since then, you started to leave small treats for him when you could
۶ৎ matcha mochi, cookies, gummies, drinks, essentially anything you think he would like
۶ৎ after a couple weeks of this, he approached you one day, didn't say anything, but dropped a box and a small piece of paper in your lap before calmly leaving
۶ৎ the box was a matcha pocky one, and the paper simply read 'thank you :)' with his name written small in the corner
۶ৎ he slowly started being more comfortable around you
۶ৎ never talking, but you noticed he now sat closer to you whenever the group was sitting down together
۶ৎ every time you talked, even if it wasn't to him directly, his head would tilt slightly in the direction of your voice - the ghost of a smile present on his face, though it was barely noticeable to anyone
۶ৎ he started to leave you small drawings, and sometimes notes that you would find taped onto the back of your tablet
۶ৎ the drawings were just little doodles: flowers, sheep, land scapes, simple things like that
۶ৎ (even though they were simple you still treasured them as though they were the most precious gems in the world)
۶ৎ the notes were also simple, but sweeter in their own way
۶ৎ they consisted of things like: 'you looked nice today :)', 'hope you feel better, today seemed rough for everyone :(', 'the outfits you organized for us were pretty <3'
۶ৎ so, even though you didn't talk to him much, he was started to be there more
۶ৎ with you being (hopefully) closer to mystery, you quickly learned that he had a different way of communicating discomfort than the rest of his emotions
۶ৎ usually, he would be silent, even if he was happy, sad, overwhelmed, anything
۶ৎ it was after a performance of theirs, and you were walking with the boys back to the car to start the drive back to their place, where you would let them be on your way as you found your own car and headed home
۶ৎ with the performance ending not very long ago, there were still fans lingering around the stadium, which resulted in them coming up to the group of you
۶ৎ one of the fans, who seemed - at least to you - to be a very sweet girl, approached you instead of the boys
۶ৎ she quickly explained that she looked up to you as a role model, saying that she always saw you in the background of videos and promos, silently doing your job
۶ৎ before you could respond and tell her that was the sweetest thing you've ever heard, a growling sound came from behind you
۶ৎ you quickly turned to be met with mystery, who had his arms crossed and was, in deed, growling at the girl
۶ৎ jinu calmly walked over (though not without tripping on his feet first) and sprayed mystery with a spray bottle
۶ৎ mystery seemed to...hiss in reaction?
۶ৎ jinu simply sighed at him, and pointed back to the rest of the boys and told him "go."
۶ৎ mystery huffed out a loud breath, but walked over to the rest of the group
۶ৎ both you and jinu quickly apologized to the girl, and you thanked her endlessly for her kind words
۶ৎ jinu then explained mystery just sometimes, did that to fans
۶ৎ though he did say to take it as a compliant that mystery did that for you
۶ৎ so. the guy doesn't speak, but he's okay with growling at people. interesting
૮ ․ ․ ྀིა you sighed quietly to yourself from your spot on the couch. jinu, and romance, had told you multiple times that you are more than welcome to come to their apartment whenever, even if it was just for doing work. which, is where you found yourself now. your tablet was in your lap, and you were glaring down at it. you were trying--keyword: trying--to figure out how to fit things into a schedule that would also allow for the idols to get well deserved rest. that was always one of your top priorities, even if it proved to be hard to do multiple times. before you could sigh in annoyance again at the timeblocks not going together, mystery was suddenly at the bottom of the couch. he was sitting on the floor, with his head resting on your lower leg lightly. you smiled, eyes leaving the schedule planner for the first time in hours. your hand reached out, and you gently started threading your fingers through his hair - it was surprisingly soft, but you guessed you couldn't be too surprised, his hair always looked very well managed. as you were about to remove your hands from his hair, his head quickly moved so it was more firmly laid on your leg. he turned his head so that he was practically snuggling into your sweatpants. you smiled again, and without thinking, ducked your head down so that your nose was pressed into his hairline gently. "thank you," you sighed, though this time it wasn't in annoyance - and was more of a breathy sentence. he didn't say anything, as always, but you could feel his mouth form into a small smile through the fabric of your pants.
۶ৎ out of all the members, baby was the only one you didn't immediately like
۶ৎ all the boys seemed respectful enough, presented themselves okay, and were rounded (though you didn't really know that fit them at all, now that you know them more)
۶ৎ then, there was baby saja.
۶ৎ the boy who had made it his mission to be a personal pain in your ass
۶ৎ he would complain endlessly about your schedules, about how much he had to do, be late to shows, not be dressed properly, not answer you even though you know damn well he heard you
۶ৎ but, after you offered a peace offering to him, he slightly changed
۶ৎ the peace offering? a pack of spicy ramen along with a 12 pack of some soda that you had seen him drinking frequently
۶ৎ the main notes of him on your ipad included: spicy anything, didn't like fabric that he claimed was 'too itchy', and was obsessed with this weird video game you didn't understand but he talked about nonstop
۶ৎ he wasn't the nicest after this, of course, but he was...softer, in his own weird way
۶ৎ he no longer seeked out annoying you, he naturally did it, somehow
۶ৎ he showed up to things on time, wore the right clothes, didn't complain - as much - about the schedule you had them on, and tried to be more engaged with interviews or shows he was on
۶ৎ during another fan meet, he was casually sitting at a table, signing posters or tshirts as fans came up to him
۶ৎ he had a lollipop in his mouth, and would take it out when talking to people, waving the candy around with his hands to go with his words
۶ৎ before another fan could approach him and ask for whatever they wanted, baby sat up from his seat, and walked over to where you were standing
۶ৎ you didn't notice him at first, because you were glued onto your device as normal, and you didn't hear anything that sounded like anyone in a panic
۶ৎ you did notice him however, when he stood close to you, hand up, holding a wrapped up lolipop
۶ৎ you blinked at him as he just smiled at you
۶ৎ and, it wasn't the normal, boyish, cocky smile you always saw him put on
۶ৎ it seemed, more genuine - in a sense
۶ৎ "its cotton candy flavored," he said, waving the treat around slightly when you didn't make a move to grab it
۶ৎ he rolled his eyes as you still didn't do anything
۶ৎ "you want it or not?" he said, hand still up holding it almost as a reward
۶ৎ you nodded your head, and took it from him, thanking him - before realizing something
۶ৎ "baby! your fans are waiting, what are you doing?"
۶ৎ he also wasn't the most talkative when it came to the group, but he was there, like mystery
۶ৎ he would lean against the wall, staring at you with a glint in his eyes that you couldn't fully place
۶ৎ taking a seat next to yours at meetings seemed almost natural at this point
۶ৎ and, trying different types of strange spicy treats and food wasn't that unusual either for the two of you now
۶ৎ though, that is more of him doing the taste testing and then teasing you for not wanting to try
۶ৎ you did try once, and he claimed the gummy bears wouldn't be to spicy
۶ৎ the whole milk cartoon ended up being gone only a day after buying it
۶ৎ you also discovered he collected pokemon cards
۶ৎ like, a lot of them
۶ৎ honestly you didn't even mean to find them - you were going through his backpack because he claimed he was to 'lazy' to get his water during dance practice
۶ৎ so, being the amazing manager you were, you went to grab it for him
۶ৎ what you found instead of a water bottle was a collection of pokemon cards neatly put into a photo book
۶ৎ you decided not to comment on it, but it now made sense to you why his screen time was so high
۶ৎ (he was playing pokemon go)
۶ৎ baby came up to you one day, and held out a threaded bracelet to you
۶ৎ you've learned from the lollipop incident that he likes to hold things out to people without saying anything
۶ৎ you grabbed it from him, while raising your eyebrow, but you still silently put it around your wrist
۶ৎ neither of you commented on it when you noticed he had a matching one on his wrist a day after he gave you yours
۶ৎ one day he approched you, and essentially grabbed your ipad out of your hands
۶ৎ you opened your mouth to protest, but he started talking
۶ৎ "do you have any cool games on here?"
۶ৎ your lips were pressed into a thin line, and then you pulled out your phone to continue what you were doing on a different device
۶ৎ he rolled his eyes, but sat down next to you and put your tablet back onto your lap
۶ৎ “pay attention to me,” he declared, after sitting in silence with you for a total of 20 seconds
۶ৎ you blinked. “are you a child?”
۶ৎ he shrugged. “might as well be,”
۶ৎ the rest of that day was spent on the couch, him sitting close to you with his arm loosely draping over the back of the couch (and your shoulder)
۶ৎ and, because you were on your phone, he went back to your ipad , where he played shark attack on roblox
۶ৎ he also slowly starting making you apart of his whole obsession with gaming
۶ৎ he would be playing on the PlayStation in their apartment (an expense baby had begged jinu to buy for him)
۶ৎ and, when you entered the room, sat on the sofa, and were scrolling through your tablet,
۶ৎ he wordlessly grabbed the other controller and put it into your lap
۶ৎ (while keeping one of his hands on his own controller)
۶ৎ you ending up caving - main reason being it was a friday night and you got weekends off
۶ৎ he was playing fortnight, but when you started playing, he changed it
۶ৎ which meant the two of you ended up playing lego star wars for around four hours
۶ৎ baby would say it was time spent well, you would say you were too tired to realize you were playing a video game instead of working
۶ৎ he also started coming to you for advice on his rap verses
۶ৎ which was not only surprising for you, but also for the rest of the saja boys
۶ৎ romance: “baby doesn’t even trust jinu with that stuff - why’s she getting special treatment.”
۶ৎabby: “i think it’s him getting the special treatment”
۶ৎ romance: signs dramatically and puts a hand on his forehead “what has the world come to?”
۶ৎ you would give him tips on his verses where you could, but you’re also not their lyricist - you’re the manager
۶ৎ even with your limited advice, baby would take every word you said very seriously
۶ৎ (even though he didn’t make it obvious he was taking your advice to that extent, he had written in the margins of his notebook, what you said, word for word, written with a hot pink sparkle pen)
۶ৎ baby also has a strange way of making jokes
۶ৎ which is code for: he only really makes that’s what she said jokea
۶ৎ even in situations where the joke doesn’t even make sense
۶ৎ you’ll be explaining to all the boys the plan for the next couple hours, and you’ll hear baby whisper under his breath while your talking “……that’s what she said,”
۶ৎ and then baby, romance, and abby will try not to laugh, mystery will just tilt his head, and jinu pretends nothing was even said
۶ৎ you don’t even pause in your speech, just shoot baby a look and then go into their costume designs for their next show
۶ৎ honesty, you sometimes don't even think that he knows what it means and says it just for the fun of it
۶ৎ keyword: sometimes
۶ৎ on some occasion, the timing of his jokes make perfect sense, and he cackles more than usual after saying them
۶ৎ you decide not to question him on the matter though
૮ ․ ․ ྀིა you found yourself back on the couch of the saja boys' apartment - at this point, the apartment was almost a second home to you, and jinu has joked with you one too many times about making the guest bedroom your room. You had your tablet in front of you, and you were mindlessly scrolling through pinterest, adding pins to a board for future costume design ideas for a show coming up. you heard the front door open, and, before your brain could register what was happening, a large weight was draped across your lap. you rolled your eyes, already recognizing the weight as baby saja. he was less than graciously lying across your lap, the position allowing his head to be on your chest. "hi." you heard him mumble into your shirt. you raised your eyebrow. "hi baby." you said. "mind telling me why you're acting like a deprived cat that hasn't gotten its pets all day?" you asked while laughing slightly. instead of getting an actual response, he simply hummed into your shirt before letting out a deep sigh. you smiled, and brought your tablet back up to your face. "long day?" you asked as you saved a picture of an outfit that seemed to fit romance's style. again, instead of getting a verbal response, baby nodded his head. you heard him mumble something, but didn't pick up on it; and you decided not to make a further comment. as the minutes passed, baby's position didn't change at all. instead, it seemed he dug himself impossibly further into your chest. in any other job position, you would find this incredibly unprofessional, but at this point, the majority of your interactions with any of the boys fell under unprofessionalism. as the baby adjusted his position again, you brought one of your hands down to his hair. You weren't thinking much about your actions - especially as you started to slowly run your hand through his teal hair. you didn't think it was possible for him to seem any more comfortable than he already was, but baby seemed to lose all sense of holding his body up more. he all but melted into you, sighing deeply into your shirt. his arms came up to wrap around your waist, and you saw his eyes close as he let out another deep breath. you smiled again, and kept the motions of your hand going, now lightly rubbing against his scalp.
۶ৎ you knew after a couple months of being the manager of the saja boy band, your relationships with them were anything but professional
۶ৎ and, they didn't seem to mind
۶ৎ nor did you
۶ৎ the lines between being their manager and being something more were blurring, but noone was commenting on it
۶ৎ not when jinu would come to you after a performance and hug you for at least a minute, talking about how much you did for them to make all the songs so smoothly
۶ৎ not when romance will come into the guest bedroom where you now stayed with his whole bag of skincare, and do his routine with you almost every night
۶ৎ not when abby would glare at anyone in the gym who as much looked at you in the wrong way, and protectively stand behind you, making sure that you are for his eyes only to see
۶ৎ not when mystery would growl at anyone — even if it was a stage crew member, who got to close for his liking (and, not that he would tell you this, but when he would silently love when you sprayed him with water because your attention was on him)
۶ৎ and, especially not when you would spend the night in baby's room, in his bed, watching any movie that seemed interesting to the two of you
۶ৎ no one commented on it - minus the fans
۶ৎ though, all of you would ignore it
۶ৎ the edits, the fanart, the memes -- everything
۶ৎ because, you were just their manager right?
۶ৎ the manager to the totally normal, idol group, saja boys
۶ৎ there's nothing totally weird about them
۶ৎ not when you would see, just for a split second, yellow glowing eyes on them backstage before a preformace
۶ৎ or when you would see purple markings on their arms after they finish their dance routine
۶ৎ because, like you said, their a completely normal boyband - and you're simply their manager
۶ৎ what you don't know, is that the saja boys are demons
۶ৎ demons, who have all taken a liking to you
۶ৎ and who knows what that means?
۶ৎ for them, and for you

I don't know if they should already be together or not, but I believe in you!!! you write very well :ooo
Sorry if the idea is bad or you wouldn't want to write something like that, if that's the case please pretend you never read this 🤡🤡🫶
true colours; luke castellan
wc + pairing: 3.6k, luke castellan x child of iris! reader
synopsis: everyone wants luke castellan, including you. curse your mother for getting your hopes up.
warnings: friends to lovers, reader is very insecure, bullying, lee fletcher & will solace cameo!! some angst with a fluffy ending
notes: thank you for the request!! as always this is longer than i anticipated but hope you like it :) i also combined it with another request for a child of iris reader (i also identify as a child of iris sometimes so i lovee writing for them) also i’m pretty sure lee + a lot of parts of this are ooc sorry but i havent read the books in about a year so hopefully everything’s fairly accurate!🌈

You knew this summer would be different because your mother sent her wishes twice as much. On the first day of July, when children flood into Camp Half-Blood like a hive of wild bees, a rainbow always lights up the sky.
This year, there were two.
As a child of Iris you’re technically supposed to be in the Hermes cabin. But your love for art, for music, for fun, has made you a particular favourite of the Apollo cabin. Most of your friends are there. They tolerate you singing in your soft, often unsure voice. They love when you catch sunlight and filter it into prisms of colour on their cabin walls.
You’d probably move in there permanently if it weren’t for Hermes. Or rather, his son.
Over the last few months, in the sticky summer heat, your mother knew you would fall in love.
It's not any surprise you love Luke. Everyone loves Luke. A fact that's becoming more obvious every passing day.
It used to bother you less. You’ve always been his meagre, hopeless friend, never any real competition to these girls. You’d basically taken yourself out of the running and instead decided to pine after him in the very back of your mind. A safe, deluded fantasy that would never happen.
Until recently, where it seems less like a fantasy and more like a terrifying possibility.
Over the past few weeks Luke has gone out of his way to be sweet to you. Or at least you think so. He’s spent extra time talking to you at lunch, laughing at your half-formed jokes almost in earnest. At bonfires he saves you a seat, grabs you a marshmallow on occasion. You even made him a friendship bracelet of sorts—admittedly a little ugly—but he’s never taken it off. Not since the day you gave it to him.
Not to mention helping you last week before the archery competition. His hands lingering over yours as he steadied your bow, the curls of his breath on the back of your neck when he stood behind you.
“Don’t be nervous,” he says, a tinge of mirth in his voice. “You just steady your aim and first is as good as yours.”
(You came in fifteenth.)
You don’t want to say that it’s him weakening your aim, making your pulse beat out of your neck. His nose brushes against the back of your jaw as he leans forward and you smell the pine on his skin. Is this friendly? Is he this close on purpose? Are you delusional?
It’s all you’ve been thinking about these past few days. So when Luke Castellan’s endless admirers come to the forefront of your mind, you feel like all those moments of potential buildup have been ripped away.
“You alright there, sunshine?”
He takes you out of your spiral with a teasing lilt you love. When you look at him, his face is a shimmering warmth, complete with boyish smile.
“Yep,” you reply, trying to ignore the nickname making your insides flutter even though you know he’s saying it ironically.
You’ve always had a gift for identifying colour. It’s the thing you pay attention to most. Something inherited from your mother, you suppose. So you’ve memorized the way Luke’s eyes melt in the sunlight. How his scar blends with his pinking cheeks when it’s hot outside. You never told him, and you probably never will, but you’ve painted him from memory quite a few times in the Apollo cabin—always with the excuse that you were practicing. It's so blatantly obvious you're in love with him there's no point in your friends bringing it up.
The two of you are meandering around camp before dinner, a tradition Luke started early on in the summer. You talk about high points of your day (mostly you) or share nuggets of gossip you’ve heard around camp (mostly him). It's the thing you looked forward to every morning. A time when his words are just for you.
Idle chatter flows as you keep walking. Sometimes your arm brushes his and you have the embarrassing urge to tug yours away. You do your best not to stare at him too long or laugh too loud at his jokes.
“Hey, Castellan!” Someone calls.
Luke’s head turns. Your heart plummets. A beautiful girl, Aphrodite cabin, you think, is heading towards you. She’s all honey-spun hair and dazzling pink lips, and it’s obvious she knows it. You don’t know her name. But Luke does.
They fall into conversation the second she arrives. It’s just greetings, pleasantries, but there’s a coy smile on the girl’s face that betrays any sense of disinterest. “Heard you’re not too keen on pairing up with us for the Chariot Race next week. What gives?” Her tone is pouty and playful as she taps Luke’s shoulder. She side-eyes you, lips curling imperceptibly. “I’m sure you’ll have a better chance with us.”
He lets out a strained chuckle. “Dunno, just thought it was fine to switch it up.”
Just like that, you’re out of the loop again. More of her friends flock after her, and soon Luke is tangled in a whole other world. They’re all glowing with a kind of righteousness you only get when you’re popular. You know Luke has friends, tons of them. He's the leader of the cabin with the most campers. Not to mention assertive and gorgeous. His presence is so inviting it’s a challenge not to fall in love with him.
So you can’t blame this girl, the one that keeps touching his arm and giggling. It’s not like you’ve staked your claim on Luke—no one even knows you exist. As much as you want him to be yours, you know you’ll never stop someone from taking him first. It’s your fatal flaw, you think. Cowardice.
You end up sidelined completely. Watching him swathed in people more charismatic than you plants an ache deep inside you. All your wishful thinking feels sour now, a pipe dream, a bedtime story to help you sleep better. Somehow it hurts more knowing that it’s nobody’s fault but yours. These people can’t be doing this on purpose. It’s just who they are. It’s who you are—always a step behind, always daydreaming. You are your mother’s daughter, after all. Just a prism reflecting everyone around you.
Eventually, one of the boys in the group takes notice of you. He’s not nearly as captivating as Luke is—you don’t find the colours of his eyes hold as much depth. There’s also a haughtiness when he looks at you. He sneers, “What the hell do you have on your face?”
It draws the attention of others in the group. You feel like a naked sculpture in an art gallery. “Uh, what?” You stammer.
Some of them purse their lips. The girl with Luke lets a laugh slip. You’re pretty sure you look like an idiot, waiting there with your brows wrinkled in a daze. Their gazes keep flicking over to your cheek, so your hand flies up there before you can delay any more. When you press your fingers to the side of your face, they come away tacky and pink. Mortification constricts you.
Paint. It’s leftover, half-dried paint. The colour of Luke’s cheeks in the sun.
“Oh,” you say dumbly. It’s drowned by snickers. All you can do is find Luke, the only face you know, and ask, “Why didn’t you tell me?” without sounding too hurt.
You know you failed when your voice comes out wrong and his ebony brows push together. “I thought it looked—”
He never gets to finish because the golden girl laughs a little louder, the pink tones in her face a little darker. “Oh my Gods, you’re that Iris kid that’s always singing, right?” She giggles sharply, cornflower eyes darting between her friends. There’s something in there you can’t quite pick up on, until it flushes the pupils of all her friends, and they all grin with a secret knowledge they want you to see. “You’re, like, really good!” The girl simpers, but her bottom lip pulls between her teeth to soften another laugh.
“Oh, so good!” Another friend piles on.
Their passive-aggressive chuckles start to sound like hail on a window. You shift further away from them. Dirt slides beneath your shoe, and you long to kick up more of it, displace yourself, disappear.
You don’t look at Luke. The giggly, flaxen girl has already turned back to him, and you’re sure he’s enthralled once more. You try to stir up the image of Luke’s closeness during archery practice, the lilac bruise on his knuckles when he angled your bow, but it doesn’t take. Now, it feels like you’ve dreamed it.
Out of the corner of your eye, you see Luke leaning down to catch a whisper from the Aphrodite girl’s ear. The boy that first commented on your cheek leans closer to you again. He’s suffocatingly smug when he grins, “Why are you still here? Shouldn’t you go … wash that off? You don’t want to look like that at dinner.” He snorts. “For an Iris kid, you really aren’t good at taking a message.”
If you were a more confident person, maybe you’d point out how that didn’t really make sense, or how stupid it sounded coming out of his mouth. But the sentiment of it wounds you, and you’re weak enough as is.
"Guess you're right," you mumble. You wipe your face of paint as you leave. The memory of Luke’s skin stains you until you wash your hands off in the sink.
You haven’t talked to him since.
It’s been a few days of you avoiding him, and it’s hard to explain to anyone why you’ve been doing it. How do you tell the truth? Luke Castellan is a work of art and you are … a weird doodle, or something. Despite your adoration, you know there’s no reason he should feel the same for you. Everyone loves him for a reason. Everyone must ignore you for one, too.
“Why haven’t you been talking to Luke?”
The question breaks your concentrated silence in the Apollo cabin. You’ve been sitting here for a while now, humming to yourself over a mostly blank canvas. The cabin is dusted with a lilac haze, thanks to your manipulation of the light streaming through the windows. Helps you feel less like you’re at camp and more like you’re in a fairytale.
“Helloooo, lady, I asked you a question.”
You begrudgingly look up. Lee Fletcher, head of the Apollo cabin, is at the mouth of the cabin, gazing at all your supplies strewn about the floor like they’re a bunch of unsavoury substances. “It looks like a hurricane came in here. Now why aren’t you talking to Luke?”
“How do you know I’m not talking to him?” You mutter as Lee sits beside you.
“Uh, because you’ve been sleeping here multiple nights in a row and you never do that. And you don’t sit with him at dinner. And whenever we see him you drag me in the other direction—”
“Lee!”
“I’m just saying, you should probably talk about it. My beautiful voice can heal wounds, yes, but not of the heart.” He splays a hand across his chest in mock theatrics.
You don’t say anything. The familiar weight of the brush against your fingertips is far more comforting than trying to talk, so you busy yourself with your canvas again. “He waits for you, you know,” Lee continues, quieter. “In the morning. And before dinner. He always asks if you’re here.”
“Oh,” you say, and your wavering voice betrays your expression. But you think of everyone else at camp, their gleaming smiles and their celebrated parents, their own cabins and friends and dreams, how you don’t seem to have any of those. You think of the girl whispering in Luke’s ear. All her shades of beauty. You know it’s wrong to compare yourself, to be jealous. You’re just … sad.
The cabin darkens from a lilac to an imperceptibly gloomier shade. A blue sort of longing gets caught in your throat, blurring the colours on your canvas. But you keep your brush steady, focused on the scratch of its bristles so you don’t have to hear what you say next.
“I think I love him, Lee.” And then, “But I don’t think he loves me.”
There’s no sound except the scraping of your brush when it’s run out of paint, and a sniffle when a tear rolls down your cheek.
“Oh,” Lee fills the silence the way you did just moments before. Then he says your name, laced with pity, and hugs you on the floor of his lavender cabin.
“You want to help me lead the bonfire song tonight?” He asks after a minute. “Or at least … come to the bonfire song?”
“No to the first, yes to the second.”
You wish you said no to both.
The spot you choose after dinner is right next to the fire so you can distract yourself with the golden flecks of flame. Fire is so fluid, so complex, from a colour perspective. But no matter how close you get, the searing warmth can’t hide Luke’s gaze peering over the embers.
He will not. Stop. Looking at you.
The singing from the Apollo kids usually soothes you but tonight it’s just making you anxious. All this attention so close to you. Will Solace has been sitting next to you this whole time, your unofficial assigned companion for the night thanks to Lee. One of his siblings beckons him over, and he shoots you an apologetic look, hesitating. "Just go," you wave off kindly. "It's all good." He's not entirely convinced, and you aren't either, but he squeezes your shoulder with thanks and leaves you anyway.
Now you’re acutely aware the space next to you is wide open. And so is Luke, it seems. There’s an awkward moment where your gazes slide over each other and he weaves out of his current crowd towards you. So you do the most mature, sound thing you could possibly do in this situation:
You say you have to go to the bathroom to no one in particular and get out of there.
It’s dark, but you’ve got sharper eyes than most. Soon the noise of the campfire is behind you. You traipse through the camp towards the bathroom, but you don’t get far before you hear something that makes your stomach drop in the worst and best way.
Luke, calling your name.
At first you think you can get away with not hearing him. Then he calls a second, a third, a fourth time, punctuated with, “Come on, I know you can hear me, can you just turn around?”
He’s got longer legs than you so the next time he speaks it’s practically in your ear. “Hey, just look at me. Please. I want to talk to you.”
There’s something so tender in his voice that it makes you cave immediately. But you already feel so fragile, you can feel the tears behind your eyes. You know you won’t have the strength to talk to him.
His hand curls gently around your wrist and it sends warmth all the way up your arm. He says your name again, softer, and you love the way it sounds. You can’t meet his eyes, but you already know what he looks like. Even in the dark you picture him crystal clear.
“Look at me,” he repeats. “I just—I need to know what I did wrong.”
His dark eyes are full and apprehensive when you heed him. You notice how much you’ve missed studying his face—the slight bunch of his brows, the tensing in his jaw. And you almost delude yourself that he’s missed you just as much, the way he squeezes your wrist and rakes over your expression.
“Why are you ignoring me?” He asks.
“I’m not—”
“You are. I know you. Just tell me why.”
He looks so sweet, so earnest, and it kills you. You think of the way he looked when all his friends made fun of you. It all comes up before you can help it.
“Do you always let me walk around looking like an idiot?” You ask bitingly, staring at the floor. “The thing, with the paint on my cheek—why didn’t you tell me? I looked so stupid and all your friends just laughed at me!”
His face falls. “I tried to tell you, I thought—”
“It’s okay to say you don’t like me, or that you’re embarrassed, or whatever, but I …” You swallow, tears thick on your lower lashes. “Everyone makes fun of me. I don’t know why you don’t.”
“Because I do like you,” he states, hand moving up to your forearm.
“Don’t say that,” you whisper. “You’re so much … better, you know you are, and I don’t want your pity, or your spare time. I just—I made something up in my head that wasn’t there and I only noticed it the other day after you talked to that girl and that guy made fun of me and I’m really, really sorry—”
“It looked cute. I was trying to say I didn’t tell you about the paint because I thought it was cute.”
There’s a lull.
“What?” You blink stupidly.
“I know I should’ve told you about it, but I swear I was going to before dinner, I didn’t think we’d run into anyone before then.” His cheeks tinge red. “I had this whole dumb thing planned out where I’d wipe it off your cheek and tell you how cute it was once you got embarassed. I was waiting to tell you. I was thinking about it the whole time.”
His hand on your arm is a frighteningly grounding thing. You're dumbstruck by that alone. Your lips part, but all that comes out is, “Why?”
A gentle laugh tumbles out of his throat. “Why do you think?”
His other hand comes up to brush your cheekbone, where the paint had been, and you can imagine him doing it to you on that day. How you'd probably react just the way he said you would, the way you are now. A warm orange glow blooming in your chest. “But the girl—”
“She tried whispering to me how much she liked my bracelet,” he smiles fondly. “Told her you made it for me. It shut her up. I don’t know what that guy said to you but I chewed ‘em all out the second you left. They knew I wasn’t happy. I tried looking for you but you were gone. I don't like them, you know."
You don’t know what to say. It’s too difficult, too uncertain for you to jump the gun on this. So you just stare at all the shifting colours on his face as he moves closer to you. All this time going over his every detail, and there's still more to be enthralled by.
“I found the paintings,” he says, voice so close you can feel it brushing your skin. “The ones of me. I was looking for you in the Apollo cabin a week ago and you left one out. I knew it was yours because ... I mean, there’s no one in the world that can make me look that … beautiful.”
The last word is apprehensive but it’s spoken with an unimaginable tenderness. He looks a little teary himself. You think you’re dreaming. “I knew I had to tell you after that. I’ve been trying to tell you. But you started pulling away from me so I thought I was making it all up.”
“Tell me what?” It’s a ghost of a question between you, an impossible thing, but the hand on your arm slips around to your back and he presses it there with such certainty.
“You’re really gonna make me say it?” He cocks his head, but you nod. “I’m in love with you, I think.”
The words cascade over you in ribbons of warmth. Your brain feels fuzzy, seperate from the rest of your body. Your mouth opens multiple times but you can’t seem to control what comes out. “Luke, are you joking?”
“Not even a little.”
“But you’ve got so many other—”
“I want you.”
“I am literally the most incompetent person alive; I can’t sing, I can’t talk to people, I have a weird knee—”
"Your knee is fine!"
"I'm just saying, this makes no sense from an outsider perspective, it's—"
“Okay, clearly the telling thing isn’t working so I guess I’m just gonna have to kiss you.”
It happens so quickly you don’t have any time to think (probably for the better). You let out a surprised “oh” before his mouth silences you, stopping every other thought. He’s gentle, thumb still rubbing your cheekbone, other hand still firm at your waist. You want to panic—where should you put your hands? How do you know you’re doing this right? But he steadies you, the way he always does, and you give in.
He starts to smile against your lips. You’re almost positive the intensity of your heartbeat could summon a storm. When he pulls away, he kisses the corners of your mouth and you think you’re going to evaporate. “I don’t think I’m very good at this,” you whisper.
“You’re perfect.” He grins a little when your hands tentatively tug at a curl on the nape of his neck. “And none of that stuff you say is true. I mean, you’re definitely a better singer than me.”
Leaning close to your ear, he warbles out a song you know but gets the words horribly wrong anyways. You can’t help but laugh. “Okay, maybe you have a point.”
He hums and chuckles with you. You swear the moon gets brighter when he wraps his arms around your waist to kiss the side of your face. “Next time you paint me, I want to be there when you do it.”
You blush harder than you ever have in your life. “Only if you try painting me,” you say quietly.
“Of course. You’re very pretty, so I’m sure my horrible artistic skills won’t even make you look bad.”
Luke lets you press your face into the crook of his neck. You soak it up for all it’s worth.
In the morning, you wake up in the same position. Your nose tucked against his collarbone, the shade of pink you love freckled across his cheeks. You can't wait to paint him again.
When you look out the window, you say a silent, grateful prayer to your mother.
She's given you two more rainbows.

The Umbrella Academy Season 4 Fix It Fic // Five Hargreeves x Reader Edition
WC: 3.1k
CW: Canon accurate violence, swearing, kissing, use of Y/N, Y/N is a bad ass, domestic fluff, angsty af.
Summary: A Five x Fem!Reader rewrite for the end of season four because I absolutely hated the ending. Five and Lila are not a thing in this fic, because that made me literally gag.
A/N: Hey luvs! I worked my ass off writing this fic because I needed to have a better ending for season four. In my mind this fic is canon. I hope y'all like it because I truly love how it turned out! Have an amazing day and enjoy! - Claire ♡
Five sat on the empty train, riding round in aimless circles. He had no intention of ever stopping. Perhaps he would die here, if death was even possible in this endless void. There was no reason for him to continue, they were out of options.
All he wanted to do was save his family, save you, but he couldn't even do that. At least this way he could escape having to witness the end of their lives.
He couldn't help but feel as if this was all his fault, if only he had listened to Reginald when he told him never to time travel. So much pain, so many lost lives, it never would have happened.
Five looked out the window, he didn't know what exactly for. Everything looked the same. Round and Round again, each identical station feels more hopeless than the last.
After an immeasurable amount of time, days? years? who knows. Something caught Five's eye.
He jumped up from his seat, following the dark figure out into the station.
Was that? No.
"Hey, wait!" Five shouted, chasing him down a staircase.
He rounded a corner, seeing a dimly lit cafe filled with all too familiar faces. The place was filled with several alternate versions of Five himself. It was an odd feeling for him to see himself this way.
Nonetheless, he took a seat across from the Five he had followed.
No more than ten seconds later, another Five served up two pastrami sandwiches. Five number two began to complain about the amount of sauerkraut on his sandwich, staring intently at the meal.
"What is this place?" Five asked, reaching for the cup of hot coffee next to him.
"It's a gas station. What the hell does it look like? It's a Deli." He could see that the alternate Five share his love of sarcasm.
He went on to explain how this was a place where all of the Five's from alternate timelines end up while trying to fix the "broken timeline" issue.
"Okay, so what shattered the original timeline?" Five asked.
"Not what. Who? I'll give you three guesses." Alternate Five held up three fingers.
"We did!" Another Five yelled.
Five wasn't surprised, everything always seemed to be caused by him.
"By we, do you mean my siblings?" Five asked.
"Yep, the morons."
Five rolled his eyes.
"When we come into existence, the timeline is shattered, and then we're stuck trying to save the world. How many times was it again?"
"145,412."
The number seemed almost impossible to fathom, but the more alternate realities, the more opportunity for the world to end. Alternate Five pointed at the wall, which was filled with every possible way the world had ended. Viktor's attempt at blowing up the moon was front and center. Seeing it gave Five an unpleasant sense of nostalgia.
Five came to realize that the commission was created by an alternate Five in an attempt to fix the timeline, but it was never successful since the Hargreeves siblings were the root of the problem.
"I have to get back." Five turned, rushing out the door. He heard the alternate versions of himself begin to speak, but his overwhelming thoughts drowned it out.
Five ran as fast as he could, getting back on the train and returning to his rightful place. With his family.
As Five entered the abandoned shell of his former home, the room's occupants turned to look at him.
The first person he noticed was you. You watched him with sad eyes, eyes he thought he would never have to gaze into again. Yet here he was, and undeniably, he had a plan.
You watched Five scan the room. Dark hair hung in front of his eyes, his chest heaved from running, or perhaps from anxiety.
"I didn't think you'd be back." You purse your lips, giving him a sour look. '
Facing your bitterness was the hardest part of all this for Five. Of course you had every right to feel that way, he had just up and left you. Although, in his mind that was better than having to watch you die.
"Yeah, neither did I." Five muttered.
Everyone looked at him, obviously awaiting an explanation.
"We caused this." Five began.
"What the hell are you talking about?" Alison sighed.
You stared at Five intently, wondering what had changed since he decided to ditch you and everyone else.
"The marigold that infected our mothers bringing forth our births had a side effect, it fractured the timeline, bringing forth the end of the world."
Five looked from person to person, attempting to read everyone's emotions. They were unreadable.
"Extracting the marigold from our bodies is the only way to stop the cleanse, and in short, fix the timeline."
Silence settled over the room. You weren't born with marigold as the Hargreeves were, but due to Ben's antics, this now concerns you too.
"Okay, but how exactly do we do that?" Diego asked.
Five looked over to Viktor.
"Viktor, you can use your powers to extract the Marigold from our bodies. Unfortunately Ben and Jennifer are too far gone to be saved, but their sacrifice will have been for the greater good."
Viktor let out an elongated sigh, and with little to no hesitation, he agreed.
"Okay, let's get moving before it's too late." Viktor said, speeding out of the room.
You followed closely behind, trying your hardest to avoid Five's gaze.
"Y/N, I-" You cut him off, this was not the time to be talking about all the mistakes he had made. Even if those mistakes led to the answer for all your troubles, they were still mistakes.
"We can talk about this later, if there is one."
Five sighed and watched you exit the room, not even bothering to look his way. He had fucked up big time.
You watched Viktor head towards the monster that was Ben and Jennifer. The creature growled, as it hurdled towards your group.
You turned back as you felt someone grab your arm, Five was standing behind you. You saw something in him that you had only seen a few times before, fear.
"Please. If we don't make it through this I want to make sure we're okay." Five begged for your forgiveness.
In any other circumstance you would not have given in this easily, but the dire situation has just begun to settle in. This could be it.
Neither of you wanted to leave this world with so many words unsaid.
Your gaze softened, and you followed Five away from the other Hargreeve's.
"I know what I did was wrong. With every bone in my body I feel that it was wrong."
He spoke loudly enough to drown out the oncoming chaos, but softly enough to omit any sort of aggression.
Five reached for your hands, and you reluctantly let him take them.
Five paused for a moment, trying to find the words that would mean the most, considering he was dealing with limited time.
"My worst fear is to see you suffer, and at the time, running away seemed like my only escape. I feel like I've already caused so much hardship in your life, and the thought of any more terrified me." His eyes stayed glued to you.
Five was the whole reason you had joined The Commission to begin with. He helped you to believe in a cause that you otherwise wouldn't have, and the two of you hadn't left each other's side since.
You didn't regret it per say, but you couldn't deny that you often wished for a different life. You would never blame any of your circumstances on Five though, and you hated how he always chose to blame himself.
"Nothing that has happened to me, or to anyone, is your fault. I think all of us share some responsibility, but blaming yourself is just wrong." You squeezed Five's clammy hands.
Five let out a sigh of relief as he was able to recognize forgiveness in your eyes.
"I love you." He said, fighting the tears that began to form in the corners of his eyes. The phrase was reserved only for you, as it is a concept that has always been hard for five.
Growing up with Reginald as a father, and a family that could win an Olympic gold medal in dysfunctionality, Five didn't exactly have a positive outlook on love.
"I love you too. We've been through worse, we'll get through this too."
Five pulled you into a tight hug, breathing you in as if it was the last chance he would ever get to hold you. The two of you were versed in the end of the world, this was not the first final hug you had shared. Five placed a soft kiss on the top of your head, and he didn't miss the small cry that escaped your lips.
You rarely cried, and when you did it was always around Five. He was the only person you felt comfortable enough with to show vulnerability. It was the perfect moment, and the past few days had worn down your patience. You reluctantly let a few tears slip loose.
"Get your asses over here love birds, Ben is here." Diego called from the other side of the room.
You and Five exchanged a look before running over to the center of the room and rejoining your family.
Ben growled ferociously, the red goo that dripped from his body falling around the room.
"Just so you guys know, I have no idea what the hell I'm doing. So if we all die, I apologize in advance." Viktor said, clenching his fists on either side.
His newly improved orange power began to swirl around his body. He squeezed his eyes shut, clearly focusing on the task at hand.
You reached for Five's hand, interlocking your fingers with his. If these were to be your last moments, you wanted to make sure he was with you.
Five gripped your hand with everything he had in him, every bit of strength was to remind you of his presence.
With each moment that passed, the colorful plume of Viktor's powers grew, encasing not only Ben and Jennifer, but all of you.
You and Five watched as the all too familiar gold marigold specks began to float through the air. It felt odd, it didn't hurt, but it wasn't a particularly pleasant feeling. It was like your whole body was being poked by a prickly cactus.
The air turned cold, and all other sounds were overcome by the rumbling of Viktor's power.
An unbearable wave of exhaustion washed over you, and it became hard for you to keep your eyes open.
You looked over at Five, making eye contact with him one last time. He gave you his signature smirk, funny how in spite of everything he could still be himself.
The last thing you saw was Ben falling to the floor, the marigold protruding from him filling the whole room with a deep yellow glow.
And just like that, the world turned black.
· · ─────── ·☂· ─────── · ☂ · ─────── ·☂· ─────── · ·
Five opened his eyes, the bright light of day overwhelming his vision. The ground beneath him was soft, the tall grass tickling his fingertips.
Five sat up slowly, his eyes adjusting to the sun. He looked over next to him, and there you were. Just as you had always been, right by his side. Your chest rose slowly, a thankful sign that you were still alive.
Five looked beyond you, to see his siblings all scattered around the lawn. They were all exactly where they had been before the blackout. The empty patch of grass, of course, was where the Hargreeve's mansion used to stand.
Without the existence of their powers, The Umbrella Academy was never formed. It was strange, to know that what Five remembered, no one else did. It was like waking up from a strange dream.
However, one thing was missing, Ben. And of course Jennifer. Five wasn't surprised that they hadn't made it, considering how their bodies were overtaken.
Five watched as his siblings slowly began to rise from their temporary comas, their eyes heavy and glazed over.
Five nudged you slightly. Unable to wait for you to wake, wanting to share this beautiful moment with you.
You opened your eyes and felt as if you had awoken from a decades long slumber. The first thing you saw was Five next to you, a genuine smile on his face. That was something you had missed.
"Are we in heaven?" Klaus mumbled, rubbing his eyes.
"Well if this was heaven, I'd be awfully disappointed." Lila replied.
You laughed to yourself, and stood up on wobbly legs.
You all had done it.
"Viktor. I think you might have just saved the world." Luther announced.
Viktor smiled and looked down, maybe eventually he'd let himself take the credit.
You began to take in your surroundings. The sound of traffic in the distance, the wind stinging your cheek, the smell of spring air. It was all so normal.
"Guys, where's Ben?" Klaus asked, and your heart dropped.
"Klaus...we all knew he probably wouldn't make it.." Alison said sadly.
Just then, something caught your eye. Something yellow that stuck out in the patch of green.
"Guys, look!" You pointed at the unique plant.
"Marigolds." Five said softly, and you felt his hand close around yours.
Two beautiful yellow flowers sprouted from the earth, a reminder of what was sacrificed. A reminder of what had to happen for all of this to exist, and a symbol of hope.
~~ Two Years Later ~~
You awoke to the sound of birds chirping outside your window, a song that was often your wake-up call. You rolled over to see Five sleeping peacefully next to you. You weren't surprised. He always slept late, after all, he was an old man at heart.
It had been two years of living freely in the new timeline. You and Five now share an apartment next to Lila and Diego and their three kids.
Life wasn't without its challenges, but compared to everything else the two of you had been through this was paradise.
Viktor had started his own Cafe, a small shop on a street corner that had quickly become a local favorite.
Alison had landed a big movie role not long after everything returned to normal. Ever since it hit the big screen, she had no problem with job offers. She didn't even miss her power of persuasion.
Klaus still lives with Alison. He doesn't really do anything specific, he often refers to himself as 'self-employed'. But he was happy, and that was all that really mattered.
Luther had somehow reconnected with Sloane, who had re-appeared after the timeline was fixed. Of course she didn't remember anything, but it must've been fate because they got to fall in love all over again.
Diego decided to put his skills acquired from his power to use and now taught axe throwing classes.
Lila had decided to help people who had ended up in a mental hospital, similar to how she had. She was working on getting her degree in psychology.
As for you and Five. Five kept his CIA job, and you decided to join him in his career. As the two of you had always done everything together, why not this too?
You felt Five stir next to you, letting out a series of groans. He slowly opened his eyes, a smile spreading across his face the moment he saw you.
"Good morning, beautiful." His morning voice is thick and deep.
"I love you." You whispered, pushing his messy hair out of his eyes.
Five leaned up to kiss you but you counteracted it by jumping out of bed. You pulled the blanket off of him and he whined in protest.
"Time to get up, Gramps, Lila wants us to drive the kids to school today."
Five rolled his eyes at the nickname. You snickered and kissed him on the cheek before heading to the bathroom to get ready.
After the two of you grabbed breakfast, you met Lila outside, Grace and the twins behind her.
"Thank you again for helping us out with this, I don't know how I'd ever get to work on time without you." Lila gave you a quick hug.
"Of course, whatever you need." You ushered her away, signaling that you could take it from here.
You were used to driving the kids places, and they always said you were their favorite aunt. Five however, could not surpass Klaus for favorite uncle.
"Alright guys, who's ready for school?" You said as you jumped in the driver's seat.
There was a chorus of enthusiastic cheers from the back, and you laughed.
"I was never that excited about school when I was your age." The kids had no idea how long ago that actually was for you.
You made sure to put on some kid friendly music, anything but Baby Shark. You dropped the kids off and made sure they all got inside safely.
"Anything else on the schedule for today?" Five asked you.
"Nope, we're both off today so I think the rest of our day is free."
"Great, we should do absolutely nothing." Five's eyes lit up with excitement.
You nodded in agreement and drove towards your home.
Once you arrived, the both of you threw on pajamas and cuddled up in bed. Five flung his arms around you and rested his head on your shoulder, simultaneously letting out a big sigh.
"I love you." He mumbled in your ear.
Even after all these years he still made you blush every time he said those three little words.
"I love you more." You pressed a kiss to Five's nose and he scrunched it up before responding with a chaste kiss to your lips.
After breaking apart you and Five settled into each other's arms, excited to spend a calm day together.
He reached for the remote and flicked on the TV. The small kiss he placed on your forehead didn't go unnoticed.
As Five settled into this new life, he found it hard not to expect a new life altering crisis to pop up at any moment. But it never did.
As the day dragged on, nothing out of the ordinary happened; and you could almost say that it was an ordinary day.

Xaden Riorson x reader
Request + Blurb: Could I request first year reader constantly getting on Xaden's nerves and pushing his buttons until the reader sees Violet and Xaden making out one night and suddenly reader stops interacting with Xaden, which drives him crazy? wc: 5.7 ☆ NO SPOILERS FOR THE EMPYREAN SERIES. No specific pronous used, i think.
My first request! thank you so, so much lovely! <3
Masterlist ☆ Dragon guide ☆ Star's story ☆ Empyrean guide ☆ Support me
It had been weeks of trying to get my sword swing right. With daggers, I was skilled—extremely skilled—but swords were a different story. They were heavier, harder to handle. So, I’d started asking Xaden for help.
For the last few weeks, Xaden had been working with me, but it never seemed like he actually wanted to. That thought alone filled me with insecurity.
Today, I had one of those rare moments as a first year where I had nothing on my schedule. I saw it as the perfect opportunity to get in some extra training.
But for that, I needed Xaden.
Lucky me, he just happened to be in the training room, his friend Garrick not far off. Both of them were clearly caught up in their own routines.
I hesitated for a moment before slowly making my way over to him, sword in hand. I always doubted myself when asking for his help. Sure, he did help, but it never felt like he actually enjoyed it. Maybe he only did it because I’m a marked one.
“Hey…” I said quietly, my voice barely audible. I swallowed hard, steeling myself before trying again. “Would you mind helping me with that swing? I think I almost have it.” I tried to sound casual, throwing in a touch of friendliness for good measure.
He stopped mid-movement and turned toward me, his cold eyes locking onto mine. Yep, definitely annoyed.
I sucked in a deep breath. “Just a moment…please?” I tried again, my tone softer this time.
He sighed, running a hand through his hair before letting it fall to his side. He dropped his sword. “Just a moment,” he said, his voice as sharp and cutting as the blade in my hand.
Xaden was always the same when he gave instructions—sharp, and to the point. Even after the session ended and he stepped off the mat, he didn’t soften. No goodbye, no comment on what I should work on. It was strange—he always had something to say, some correction to offer for next time.
Not today. Today, I had officially pushed all his buttons and that made me feel horrible.
Later that night, about an hour before curfew, I wandered through the massive halls of the Riders Quadrant. With the freezing months settling in, a nice hot drink seemed like a good idea.
I turned toward the courtyard when I heard voices—two of them. A man and a woman.
“We’ll both regret it,” the man said, his tone low and laced with frustration.
No…wait. That’s Xaden’s voice.
“Naturally,” the woman replied, her voice calm and familiar. Violet Sorrengail.
As quietly as I could, I moved toward the edge of the wall. I peeked around the corner, but I immediately wished I hadn’t.
Violet and Xaden. Kissing.
I bit my lip. No, it wasn’t just kissing—she was practically climbing him.
I stepped back from the wall, sucking in a shaky breath to stop myself from trembling.
I never felt anything romantic for Xaden—or at least that’s what I told myself. He was helpful, even when he never seemed to want to be. But seeing them together…it hurt more than I expected.
It's probably better this way. If i don't talk to him, i won't have to face the humuliation of knowing he chose someone else.
The urge to look again, to confirm what I’d seen, was huge. But I knew what I saw. No need to make it worse.
♤
It had been five days since I last spoke to Xaden—or more accurately, since I started avoiding him. The ache in my chest hadn’t eased, no matter how much I tried to bury it.
I spent most of my free time practicing. Training felt like the only way to get him out of my head, though it never worked completely.
It was nearly dark, the training room clearing out as the hours ticked by. I swung my sword again, harder this time, pouring my frustration into each movement.
“Use that much force, and you’ll cut your own head off.”
I froze at the sharp voice behind me.
Taking a deep breath, I turned to face Xaden. You can do this, I told myself.
“I don’t recall asking your opinion,” I said, keeping my tone neutral as I buried my emotions.
He raised a brow, the scarred one. “You asked me to teach you,” he argued, his voice just as sharp.
“Do you think I don’t notice you slipping out of every room I walk into? Avoiding me like I’ve done something wrong?” He steps closer, his voice low and cutting. “Tell me what I did.”
I scoffed and turned back toward my mat, but before I could pick up my sword, his hand wrapped around my wrist.
“Let go,” I said through gritted teeth, trying to pull away.
“No,” he said firmly. “Not until you tell me why you’ve been avoiding me. And don’t lie—we both know you have.”
His grip didn’t loosen, but his tone softened slightly, the sharp edge still unmistakable.
“I don’t get involved in relationship drama,” I replied sarcastically, giving him a pointed look.
His frown deepened. “What does that have to do with anything?”
“You and Violet,” I said, raising a brow. “I’m not getting between that mess.”
His grip finally loosened, and he stepped back, confusion flickering across his face.
“Violet and I are not…that is not—we’re not together,” he said sharply.
“She climbed you like a tree five nights ago,” I deadpanned, meeting his gaze head-on.
For a moment, he just stared at me. Then, to my shock, a grin spread across his face—wider than I’d ever seen.
“You’re jealous,” he said, his tone almost teasing.
“Excuse me?” I shot back, taken aback. “I assure you, I am not jealous. I just refuse to be part of a mess.”
He stepped closer, and I instinctively backed into the wall. His hands came up, caging me in.
“I assure you,” he said softly, his voice dropping lower, “there’s nothing between Violet and me. What you saw was her first time experiencing the mating bond between our dragons.”
I opened my mouth to respond, but he beat me to it.
“Surprisingly, I only have eyes for you.”
My breath hitched, his words catching me completely off guard. “You don’t show it,” I managed to say after a moment. "All you’ve ever done is push me away.”
His brows furrowed, frustration flickering across his face. “Because I can’t think straight when you’re around. You’re stubborn, infuriating, and you have no idea what you’re doing to me.”
He sighed, the softness in his expression almost foreign. “It’s difficult to teach you when all I want to do is kiss you.”
Excuse me? There is no way that this man just admitted that. The usual cold, emotionless man that I had been stupidly falling for did not just admit to want to kiss me.
"what?" I whisper out, not trusting my voice to talk any louder or say anything else.
One of his hands cup my face and I can feel my cheeks flush. "All I want to do is kiss you." He repeats, his voice is just as confident as before.
I think for a moment before I speak again. "Then why don't you?" The question is soft and I can barely even finish it as his mouth crashes on mine.
The kiss is rough, just as I expected from this man. His hand on my face tightens and his other hand goes to my waist. He squeezes my waist softly as the kiss deepens.
Gods, this man.
After a few more seconds he pulls away, leaving my breathless as I lean against the wall.
"That was..." I start breathless. "Perfect," he finishes for me. A smile creeps up my face, I can feel my body heat up more every second.
"yeah....yeah, it was perfect," I repeat and I lift my eyes to his. He seems to be feeling the heat to.
"we can finish what we started in my room." He proposes and my eyes widen slightly-- not in fear, no, in anticipation.
I nod my face quickly. "Yeah sounds amazing. Sounds perfect." I say with a smile. He gives me a grin.
"Let's go then." He says grabbing my hand.

[ BACK TO MASTERLIST ]
"Oscar, radio check?" You say over the radio as you waited for his answer. It's been the first time when you had a good feeling about the race and that was weird to say the least. Ever since winning his first race, which came with a controversial decision from pit wall and Landos eagerness to prove himself, Oscar has been talking about winning races almost on a daily basis.
"Yep. Radio check." He answes with in thick australian accent. He sounded so calm, like he always does. Being his race engineer could be sometimes a blessing and a curse, because of the tensions that have been arising ever since the win at the Hungaroring.
Checking the tyre information to be as much as accurate when telling Oscar over the radio. "Ok Oscar tire info. Everyone on medium apart from Ricciardo, Lando, Zhou, Gasly and Ocon, who's starting on hard." Knowing that he's starting from the front row, the chances of overtaking are high and you were more than sure that he'd take every chance he gets.
"Thank you." Smiling wide for a second after hearing his voice in your headphones you look around not wanting to seem unserious. It hasn't been long since you've been trying hide your crush on him for some time now.
Checking once again the screen panel about the tire information realizing you forgot to mention on what kind of tires will Alex be starting on hard tires. "Correction. Albon also starting on hard." Finishing the sentence you look at the panel that showed the race, taking a deep breath start the countdown for Oscar.
"Thirty seconds." You begin the countdown, knowing that this time everything had to be perfect. He was on first row you knew he could do it. "Twenty seconds." You continue on the same low tone as before. Taking a deep breath once again you say. "Ten seconds."
"It's lights out and away we go." Was heard from speakers next to the pitwall, facing the screen panel you see him get a good start.
Oscar was managing the tyres beautifully from what you could see on the screen panel showing the state of the car. Looking at the lap times and number of laps being done. Fifteen. You sight for a moment before letting him know that it was time to pit. "Now box this lap." You tell him on a calm voice.
Looking back at the Mclaren pitwall, you check to see if he's finally coming in. And there he was. Lando was being a good team player. He was playing the team game just how it was discussed before. None of the team members wanted a repeat of that awful strategy in Hungary. Not this time. This could have been different. It would be different.
By lap eighteen, he had climed his way up to second. Charles still leading. Considering that now was the time to let Oscar know that Leclerc wasn't managing his tyres, you say on a hopeful voice. "The tires are damaging. Time to be smart here."
You knew what you meant when you said the word "smart". And he knew. Time to overtake. "Leclerc. 0.6." With DRS he could get him. He should be able to.
Come on Oscar. Come on. Whispering lightly as you had your arms holding each other as you looked at the screen. Taking a deep breath, you gaze at the screen panel showing the race, looking at the overtake that Oscar managed to pull. He was now leading the Azerbaijan Grand Prix.
"Fuck yeah. Let's go Oscar." You smile, checking to see if you were still having the radio button on, hoping that he didn't hear you congratulate him. Calming yourself, you realize that there's thirty more laps in which he has to keep Charles at bay. Not letting him pass. This was his time to show who he is. And that he shouldn't be seen as a second driver.
Glacing at the screen panel showing the time differences between the twentieth cars, you tell Oscar over the radio the distance between himself and the second place. "Leclerc. 0.8." Come on Oscar. Come on. You can do it.
If there's one thing that you were confident about was that Oscar knows how to defend. And that's exactly what he should and was doing. Defending his first place. For thrity laps.
Sooner than expected you could hear from the speakers right next to the pitwall. "Oscar Piastri wins the Azerbaijan Grand Prix. The australian is a grand prix winner." Clapping your hands lightly as you were still in shock of what had just happened. He won. He won his second grand prix.
Standing by the pitwall as everyone, the mechanics ans the rest of the engineers were still sitting down. Smiling happier than ever you tell him over the radio. "Lovely job Oscar, great afternoon. Fantastic."
Wanting to give him the moment he needed to process the fact that he won, you hear a small "yes" coming from your speakers. He was happy, you could tell.
───────── ౨ৎ ─────────
Drenched in champagne, you could see Oscar coming into your direction. Holding the thropy in his hand, he smiles at you. "I think i would see you on the podium." He says in a teasing voice.
"It wasn't my time to shine." You explain yourself to him, knowing that he overtook Charles, you were just there to support him. After all, you were just his race engineer.
Coming closer to you, Oscar wraps his left arm around your waist pulling you closer. Breathing heavily, he whispers slowly. "Now it is." Leaning in as you also do so, letting his lips touch yours.

Zelda Masterlist 🤍Fandom Masterlist
Six minutes and twenty seconds. That's how long you were able to relax before a series of knocks ruined your peace. Predictably, the sound is enough to echo throughout your small home followed by shrilling cries from the once silent cradle mere feet from your bedside.
You could almost cry yourself, although you're able to hold in your frustrations thanks to the smoothing pat your husband gives your head before sighing heavily himself and sitting up from bed. All the two of you wanted was one second of sleep - one second to collapse in bed next to each other and rest your eyes which feel as if they haven't shut in weeks, but apparently, that's too much to ask of this universe.
After giving a quick kiss to your cheek (and smirking at your annoyed grumbling), Twilight slides off the bed and makes his way to the cradle. There, he skillfully sweeps the wiggling newborn into his arms, cooing the distressed baby loving as they make their way to the front door. Seeing as this precious child has only existed for a mere week, it can't really be too much of a surprise that your home has become a hotspot for visitors. Between the village children excitedly wanting to see their newest member and their parents stopping by to offer meals, advice, and all-around support, it seems your door is almost always open these days (not you truly mind one bit), although as it would turn out, your current company doesn't fall into the excepted categories.
"What are you guys doing here?" Twilight suddenly doesn't feel so tired anymore once setting eyes upon the familiar group. They're all here - all eight of the heroes of courage; his treasured friends. This is, what, the third time his world has somehow crossed with theirs? This is really becoming a common pattern, isn't it, and for a split moment, Twilight feels a strike of fear at the thought of this being the start of yet another long, tiresome journey. Now!? He couldn't possibly leave now! What kind of partner and father would that make him? You need him here. He promised he'd be home for you, and for -
"- There's no danger, so don't fret. We've already investigated everything before coming here," Time, who must've read Twilight's worried expression, promptly explains things while failing to fall victim to the same jaw-dropped silence that strikes every other hero in the group as they all stare in astonishment at Twilight - or more accurately, the bothered baby huffing in his arms.
Instead of mocking surprise, Time’s eye casually drops to acknowledge the little one, his lips lifting into a pleasant smile, “...And this must be the famous pup I’ve heard so much about?”
“Wait, you knew?!” Sky gasps, everyone’s shocked attention snapping to the Old Man. He pays them no mind, too focused on his main priority of being the first to hold his great-great-something grandson who Twilight eagerly passes over.
“Ah!” The Rancher’s once worried expression changes like a switch, flashing away into an all-too excited grin. As has been common lately, having new company around immediately sparkles a rambling spiel fueled by his flooding avidity (which has impressively failed to die down even with the exhaustion of early fatherhood), “I was gonna send letters to y’all - it just slipped my mind. These past few days have been a bit chaotic while getting all adjusted. Yep, this one’s mine - lil’ Lupin. He’s officially four days old, born at 10:14 in the morning at a healthy 7.6 pounds -”
“- You’re gonna have to write all that down for any of us to remember it,” Wild rolls his eyes, although it’s in good spirit as he peeks at the tiny baby with a small smile. It doesn’t take the other boys long to notice that, like Time, their Champion doesn’t seem too surprised by this situation either, looking at the newborn with only a little bit more interest than he would a cute puppy.
“I take it you knew, too, then?” Four quizzes.
“He kept hinting towards it at first until I finally gave in and asked. I didn’t know when to expect them to be here, though.”
“It’s been nine months since then,” Twilight points out teasingly, causing Wild to huff and throw his hands up in the air defensively.
“How should I know how long they take to bake! Besides, judging by the way you practically sent me a whole novel about how excited you were, I figured it was only going to be a matter of weeks, maybe a few months by that point. How in Hylia’s name did you stand to be like that for nine?”
“I barely did! It was hell having to be that patience, anyone here could tell you…but Lupin’s here now and definitely worth the wait, I’d say,” Twilight sighs dramatically, looking lovingly at his son who by now has settled peacefully in the comfort of Time’s arms, no longer squirming and fussing. To be fair, his ancestor does have quite a bit of practice juggling twins at this point. One is nothing.
“He’s a beautiful baby, that’s for sure,” Time chuckles, at last taking his eyes away from his newest family member, “You did good, cub.”
Twilight preens at his mentor’s compliment, “Isn’t he? I’ve been around other babies before, but having one of my very own…It just hits different, ya’ know? …I actually wouldn’t mind a couple more -”
“- Don’t push your luck, mister,” On cue, you appear from around the corner, tiredly rubbing your eyes yet managing a smile to greet the rest of the Chain, "You weren't the one who had to go through nine months of heartburn followed by hours of torture.”
“- Eventually. I wouldn't mind a couple more ‘eventually’,” Twilight clarifies, quick to hook his arm around your waist and pull you against himself the second you’re close enough, “Besides, you handled it like a queen.”
You roll your eyes while resting your head against his shoulder, “Flattery won’t get you anywhere different.”
“That’s not what you said nine months ago~” Twilight smirks, pressing a kiss to your forehead only to earn himself a swat against the head.
Warrior originally elected to ignore the heavy knocking at his front door which threatened his peaceful morning's silence. Whatever this kingdom demands of him, they can simply add it to his tab. He's comfortable in bed where it's warm and you're snuggled in his arms, looking as beautiful as ever with a mess of bedhead and matching dark circles under your eyes. Best of all? Your son has achieved a new record of sleeping for three straight hours - THREE!
Now, Warrior is relatively used to less-than-ideal sleep schedules as a hero and captain, so having a newborn around hasn't quite hit him with the same force as it might a typical man, but that doesn't mean either of you are going to be ungrateful towards this new parenting milestone. No, you were planning on taking full advantage of it actually, wanting nothing more than to spend a lazy morning in bed until your little monster inevitably awakes...however, it seems the universe always has other plans.
The knocking only grows more frequent and loud, drawing a groan from your fiancé who finally relents. Pushing himself out of bed, he reluctantly answers the door without much effort put into hiding his annoyed expression - that is until it naturally snaps into one of mild shock and excitement at the sight of his visitors. Instead of it being someone from the Castle or military, he's pleasantly surprised to find his old traveling companions, the other heroes of courage.
"What are you all doing here?" He suddenly doesn't feel so tired anymore, in fact he’s stricken with more life and a bright smile while gazing over the group to count each familiar face. Yep, they're all here - all eight of them. It's been so long! Well, maybe not that long. It hasn't even been a full year yet since visiting Twilight's family together, but that's still plenty of time to miss old friends.
"Well, some of us have been talking lately and we thought, why not put some time aside from our busy lives to have a little get together - just us heroes, for old times’ sake!” Wild announces enthusiastically, practically inviting himself inside, not that Warrior stops him or any of the others for that matter.
“It could be a little tradition of ours. Once a year, type of thing,” Sky explains more professionally, although he isn’t any less excited than the Champion.
"A nice boy's trip to save you from the misses," Legend rephrases, elbowing the Captain’s side with a wink while passing by.
Warrior will admit: it is an intriguing proposal - getting away from the stresses of a hero to spend quality time with brothers who understand your woes. If only the Chain had visited a few months earlier, he’d be willing to entertain such a trip, but alas, he must give them a sympathetic smile instead, “As much fun as that sounds, I’m afraid I won’t be able to join you. At least not this time around.”
Immediately, the group’s uplifted smiles drop into disappointed frowns emphasized by a chorus of dejected groans.
"You knights and all your fancy work kissing the royal family’s ass," Legend huffs, and Warrior was just about to bite back on that comment with a jab of his own, however their conversation is suddenly interrupted.
A piercing cry catches the entire Chain off guard, many of the boys looking around wildly for the possible threat while others - namely Time and Twilight - are jolted by that familiar protective instinct they know all too well of from their own home lives.
“Actually, there’s another reason,” Warrior doesn’t hide his amusement towards everyone’s reactions nor does he hide his tired sigh once realizing his free trial of peace-and-quiet has ended.
He doesn’t even make it to the doorway before you appear, already rocking the baby gently in your arms. It takes some fussing from both of you to smooth his tears, calming him down just long enough for Warrior to turn back to his friends while proudly gesturing to the newborn in your arms, “Well, allow us to introduce our son, Einar.”
From there, it takes mere seconds for the Chain to snap out of it and instantly crowd you both, each fighting to get a good look at this ‘son’ in question.
“Since when did you guys have a kid?!” Hyrule awes.
“He’s so little…He can’t be that old, right?” Sky gasps.
“Only a few weeks, I reckon,” Time observes calmly from the back, tall enough to simply gaze over the sea of shoulders and heads.
“Hey, move out of the way! I can’t see! I wanna see, too!” Wind whines, shrugging to push his way through the barrier of bodies.
Twilight, steps back from the chaos to throw a playful smirk Warrior’s way, “Here I thought you were waiting for kids.”
“Us too,” You roll your eyes.
“Life happens,” Your partner merely shrugs, not even attempting to act ashamed of himself as he accepts responsibility of holding Einar while you excuse yourself to prepare a bottle once he starts whimpering again, “But we wouldn’t trade him for the world.”
“Geeze, you’re all getting old on us,” Legend mocks, eyeing Warrior, Time, and Twilight, “Not even three years ago, the Old Man was the only one of us in a committed relationship, now all three of you are suddenly tied down with children!”
“Don’t go sounding too jealous, Vet. I’m sure you’ll have your turn someday,” Warrior smirks, resulting in the other hero sticking out his tongue in disgust.
“As if. Me? A dad? You sure the world should be subjected to that?”
“Right. You might actually be doing everyone a favor by not reproducing.”
“Oh fuck off -”
“- Shh! Not in front of the baby!”
“I, for one, wouldn’t mind being a dad one day. It seems like a lot of fun,” Sky, coos, letting little Einar play with his finger, “If you ever need a babysitter, just let me know.”
"Careful. We might end up taking you up on that offer with how little we've been sleeping lately."
"Get accustomed to it, my friend, because it doesn't go away anytime soon," Time advises with a pat to the back, failing to hide the mirth filtering his voice as the new father sighs exasperatedly.
Legend isn’t usually the type to delight himself with hosting guests, nor is he much of an initiator when it comes to any sort of social interaction, so suffice to say, the Chain was rather thrown to have received unprompted invites to visit his world and home. Why the sudden open door? He gave no explanation, leaving all of the boys guessing, although Time has a few notable theories swirling in mind.
It all goes back to months ago when Legend had unexpectedly appeared at Lon Lon Ranch, claiming to have simply ‘been in the area’, yet Time knew better than to believe that. An experienced man like himself immediately took notice of his friend’s frazzled and irritable mood, such a state of dishevelment hinting towards one thing: problems at home - problems likely relating to you, to be exact, seeing as your boyfriend was swift to avoid any mention of your name when prompted.
Realizing that prying would be ineffective against someone so notorious for his emotional barriers, Time had allowed Legend to stay with him and his family without question. He, of course, kept a close eye on the young man, trying to deduce the situation the best he could from all those frustrated grumbles while working chores and pitiful sighs as the two sat together on the back porch after dinner.
It was then that Legend had taken the moment to ask Time a rather odd question that had admittedly hung in the Old Man’s head for days afterwards along with a curious conclusion as to the true reason behind his sudden visit, however nothing more was said that night beyond some wisely woven words soaked in hidden meaning.
By morning, the veteran hero was visibly relaxed when quietly expressing his plans to return home to you. Clearly, whatever troubles that once plagued his mind had been resolved following a day of reflection and a goodnight’s sleep, so Time felt confident sending Legend back on his way with a wish of luck and an offer to return whenever needed.
Perhaps that incident and this friendly invite are unrelated, after all, it’s been months between the two, although Time can’t help but wonder, the memory of Legend’s question being of particular interest as the Chain approaches their destination.
Some of the boys share their concerns along the way, a bit unsettled by the thought of Legend wanting to see them. Warrior even suggests the possibility of their friend having gone through a bad break-up, insisting there’s logic behind his guess since losing you would be the Vet’s lowest point, the extreme heartache being enough for him to abandon all stubbornness and reach out to the Chain for moral support. Arguments deemed his theory outlandish, however when Legend opens his front door to greet them, the boys begin to worry Warrior might indeed be a good prophet…
“It took you all long enough,” He huffs, his voice worn and scratchy which really sends home his obvious lack of sleep when paired with his unkempt appearance; heavy bags under his eyes and shaggy hair that stands up on all ends, “Come in, come in…”
‘Oh Hylia!’ The Chain thinks, sorrow for their friend already sinking into their bones as they illy prepare themselves for a story of true despair. Yes, Legend can be difficult and stubborn at times, and maybe you had your reasons, but surely he couldn’t have messed up bad enough to warrant you leaving him! Hasn’t the poor guy already been through enough?
“...Hey man, you doing alright?” Warrior was just about to rip the bandage off, his hand placed supportively upon his friend’s shoulder which earned him a sleepy look that falls sort of its intended glare, however before he can get any reply -
“- BABY!” Wind’s gasp pierces ears and makes several of the others leap in their skin. Indeed, if following the youngest hero’s excited point, it'll lead to where you stand in the doorway with an amused (that be it tired) chuckle…So, you didn’t leave after all? You’re still here, looking as rough as your partner which is probably excusable since in your arms is, in fact, a new baby.
“Hello everyone. I’m glad you could all make it.”
“...Oh thank Hylia you didn’t leave him!”
“What -?” Legend raises an eyebrow at Warrior’s dramatic sigh, yet he doesn’t get much of a chance to be offended. No one would notice anyway, their attention having swiftly abandoned their dear old friend in exchange for you and the baby you introduce.
“His name is Liron,” You note, earning a chorus of awes as the sweet little bundle scrunches his tiny face in displeasure towards the disruption to his peaceful sleep; already, he looks so much like his dad.
“So this is why you invited us over, huh?” Hyrule glances back over the sea of shoulders to send Legend an amused smile, “We thought something bad might’ve happened!”
“We wanted it to be a surprise…” The Vet sighs, unable to stay mad at the group’s energy, after all they have every right to be amazed. His son is pretty damn beautiful.
“Well, I’ll be darn. You gotta kid now,” Twilight smirks, even going as far as to elbow Legend’s side which, as always, packs more strength than probably intended, “And after all that hell you gave us!”
“Yeah, yeah, karma's a bitch. Laugh it up - HEY! Wash your hands first!” Legend’s focus is immediately diverted from rubbing his sore ribs to pointing an accusing finger at Wild who’s stopped mid-reach from taking the baby you pass towards him.
"I did!" The Champion gasps in offense.
“Not here you didn’t. Do it again! Sinks in the kitchen!”
Wild grumbles, forced to forfeit his turn in holding the baby. A glare is all it takes for Hyrule to follow him shamefully as well, allowing Time to be the first to actually hold the little one since his hands successfully pass cleanliness approval. Nevertheless, despite his spotless palms and seasoned experience as a father himself, the older hero must put up with Legend's paranoid hovering which isn't too unlike a hawk's, ready to snatch back his baby at a second's notice if deeming the situation to be too ‘unsafe’. Fortunately, Time's nice enough not to mention this behavior beyond a silent smirk.
“...What went through your head when you realized you were going to be a dad?”
Now Legend’s question - as random as it had seemed those many months ago - makes complete sense. The timid whisper that spoke it, the nervous avoidance of any eye contact, and that deep, thoughtful frown while listening to Time’s honest answer - all signs that pointed towards a worried father-to-be desperate for direction as he fought to keep his own insecurities and fears at bay.
At least Time can finally rest easy knowing their past conversation did some good for his friend. The young man may be fidgeting while impatiently watching his new child be passed around the group for each to see, your gently hand upon his shoulder only doing so much to relax his anxieties. You’re also both beyond tired, fitting to Time’s warning that parenthood is by far the most difficult journey one can ever take, yet there’s a switch of softness that overtakes Legend’s expression the second your son begins to mumble his disapproval, apparently fed up with all this attention that he’s receiving.
In an instant, Legend’s there, stealing back the small infant and clumsily doing his best to smooth such sharp cries. Yes, it’s difficult and nerve wracking to become a parent, especially for the first time, but to see all of your efforts throughout the years take form into such a beautiful and amazing being of pure innocence…that’s the most rewarding adventure yet, something Legend’s clearly already beginning to realize himself.
Sky's been practically bursting at the seams all day - well, all week, to be more accurate - but today is especially special since you’re both expecting a visit from some of his closest friends, the other heroes of courage who haven’t been by Skyloft in far too long.
Seeing as their reunion has been so long overdue, it should be no surprise that your dear husband has been bubbling with eager anticipation all morning (long before the sun had even risen thanks to your shared lack of a proper sleep schedule). While he does genuinely miss his old traveling companions, a majority of his restlessness comes from wanting to share some exciting news about a recent ‘development’ in your lives, one he’s had to hold himself back from spoiling in their routine letters (which are shared far more often than in-person visits).
Before you can even process the knock at your front door, Sky is already darting across the room to answer it, matching the delighted smile worn by all the other boys. He eagerly ushers them inside, his impatience finally spilling over by this point, something he can’t help. As already mentioned, he’s been waiting for this moment for quite a while - and has dreamed about for far longer than a simple ‘while’.
You can only chuckle at how quickly you’re swarmed by curious eyes, the other heroes not hesitating to stand and kneel around your chair just to catch a glimpse of the tiny bundle you cradle. To say it took them off guard would be the understatement of a century. It completely knocked them off their feet to realize what you're holding and what Sky’s excitement has been all about!
It’s a baby - a tiny newborn with puffy cheeks and itty-bitty hands balled into fists! She doesn’t even look real, or perhaps this whole situation itself just doesn’t feel real. In the Chain’s defense, it’s been years since Sky and you announced your intentions of starting a family of your own. Unfortunately, your struggles in achieving this goal became no secret, and your friends had begun to slowly lose hope with you. They truly worried the day might never come which explains their complete awe now.
“Her name’s Azure,” You tell them, wiping away the tears that bubble in the corners of your eyes. Curse these hormones! Your daughter is already a few days old yet you still cry each time you see another’s reaction to her. Can you be blamed? It only solidifies the reality that this is, in fact, your baby. Sky and you are officially parents!
“Congratulations, man!” Warrior throws an arm over your husband’s shoulder and pulls him close into a side hug, “You’ve earned it!”
Sky shares his laughter with a shake of his head, his eyes immediately drifting to yours, “My wife deserves most of the credit. She’s the one who endured all those long and tiresome months to get little Azure here.”
“And you took amazing care of us both throughout every second,” You point out just as quickly with a gentle smile, “I couldn’t have asked for a better partner to go through this with.”
“Now we’ll have to start planning some playdates with all our kids. Let ‘em tire each other out,” Twilight points out, giving Sky’s other side a nudge with his elbow.
“Maybe being around Azure will get Hope to stop asking for a sibling for a while,” Hyrule sighs exhaustively.
“Yeah, no, that has the exact opposite effect. Trust me,” Legend huffs with crossed arms.
Wind’s hand pops out from somewhere in the back of the crowd, only seen as he eagerly tries to jump up and down to gain attention, “Oh-Oh, Tetra and I can babysit if you ever need it!”
“I didn’t think she even liked kids?”
“She ‘likes’ kids, she just doesn’t like being ‘around’ them,” Wind rolls his eyes at Legend’s comment as if the reason isn’t obvious, “But she said she’s been wanting to get better with them to practice the whole ‘being a nice princess’ thing -”
“- All of that can come later,” Time swiftly interrupts the wandering conversation, “I’m sure as new parents, these two would appreciate rest above all else for now. There’ll be plenty of time for playdates later down the line.”
“We’ll definitely set some up once Azure is old enough,” Sky chuckles in agreement before kneeling by your side to help fix the blanket around your sleeping daughter. Although there’s quite a bit of time until then, the idea of finally being able to participate in such arrangements is exciting to you both. No more standing on the sidelines feeling out of place with your hearts’ yearning. You’ll finally be able to share the joy all of your friends feel.
“You both look like happy parents. Congratulations,” You preen at Time’s compliment, looking to each other through tears in your eyes which then drop to Azure who snuggles closer to you, blissfully unaware of the effect she already has on your hearts as she merely enjoys the comfort of your loving embrace. Your most special treasure, indeed…

how would the dialtown cast feel abt their respective theme songs, especially with the context that its meant to represent them? do any of them feel like the song accurately represents them?? ive wondered abt this a lot
Off the top of my head, most would find their themes fitting, I think.
Oliver would consider his theme a jam. Karen would agree hers is fitting and like the mechanical bits. In one ending, Gingi DOES describe Randy's theme to him and his reaction is more or less like "...Huh." I think he'd be the most insecure about his theme of the datables, wondering why it sounds sorta comical ("Do people laugh at me and see me as a fuckup?! My fears ARE real!")
Bigfoot would listen to his theme and seem at peace, maybe give a thumbs up if you asked if he liked it.
Norm would 100% be happy about his theme since it's very western-sounding and sounds like it commands respect, but post chapter 3, probably worry it sounds too serious and worry his friends are intimidated by him.
I'm not sure what Mingus would think of her theme. Probably find the cat presence overwhelming, like "I'm the MAYOR of a city, I feel like all I hear in this is the cat. The bugle's nice, though." ironically preferring the Crown bit of the theme to the bit that's actually about herself, which is quite fitting now that I think of it.
God would hear his theme and think "heh... yep, that's me alright!"
Stabby + Shooty would find out they don't have a theme in the basegame and insist they write their own and play it and it would likely sound like ed edd n eddy background music. just chaotic avant garde jazz.
Roger would probably be like "...wait. this music sounds silly. don't people see me as an authority figure? are you sure this is my theme? it's okay if you played the wrong one, we all make mistakes. can you please check again?"

Your Hand Please, My Lady CE: Jude Jazza Story
Fan translation only. Not 100% accurate. Please expect grammatical errors. Cybird owns everything. Feel free to re-blog, but please do not post my translations elsewhere. Thank you, for you support! ☾.
Jude was chosen to be my butler for a day through the Evil King game —
Jude: Good morning, Miss Kate. You seem well-rested today.
That morning when Jude came to my room, he spoke in beautiful Queen’s English.
(Jude’s accent is gone?! Moreover, why am I being called Miss….)
Kate: ….This is a dream, right?
Thinking it was a dream I sank back to bed when Jude grabbed my arm.
Jude: Excuse me, Miss Kate. I am also terribly disappointed, but this is not a dream.
Kate: I can feel you grabbing me….then this is real….?
Jude: Yesterday, Mister Victor gave an extremely unpleasant….no, a pleasant order, didn’t he?
Jude: To become a butler for one day.
Kate: Ah, that’s right….
Kate: I understand. Please take care of me today.
Jude: No, it’s I who should say that. Please take care of me today, Miss Kate.
Jude: Anyway, that wild hairstyle…..it’s like a work of art. It’s an honor to see it.
(Maybe, do I have bed hair…?)
Kate: I-I’m sorry. It’s unsightly! I’ll fix it right away.
Jude: Ah no, leave it as it is, my lady.
(What, leave my bed head as it is…?)
Jude: I’ll fix it for you, so please have a seat.
Kate: ….You will do it Jude?
Jude: Since I am your butler for today.
Jude skillfully arranged my hair, and tied it up neatly.
Afterwards, I was guided to the dining room where breakfast had been prepared.
(Jude’s an immaculate butler. But…)
Jude: My lady. You’re taking your time eating your meal with that small mouth.
Jude: As a result, tidying up will be delayed……no, please be careful, all right?
Kate: ….Thank you.
(Even though his tone was polite, his words somehow sounded sarcastic….)
He isn’t criticizing me as he usually does, so I can’t talk back, it’s oddly difficult.
Liam: Jude becoming a butler seems interesting! I wanted to see it, but…..it seems a bit shameless doesn’t it?
Kate: That’s just your nature Liam…..
Liam: Kate, now that Jude is your butler, you can do whatever you want.
Liam: Like going shopping and carrying your bags! I’m curious about Jude being used by you, Kate.
Jude: ….You’re using me to satisfy your curiosity? Mr. Liam, joke around in moderation.
Liam: Wow, scary!
Liam: But, Jude didn’t you ask me the other day about products women may like?
Liam: I don’t think it would be a bad idea to listen to Kate’s opinion while shopping.
Ellis: Kate’ll be happy to release her frustration, and Jude’ll be happy to do market research…..
Ellis: ….Yep, I think that’s very good.
Liam: Right?
Ellis and liam both approached Jude with sparkling eyes.
Jude: ……Seems like the both of you will be completely noisy until we go out?
So at Ellis’ and Liam’s recommendation, I went out with Jude.
There’s a hint of sarcasm in everything Jude says, but he carries all of my bags without being asked, fulling his role as a butler with precision.
(Although it was an order from the evil king game….., I’m starting to feel a bit sorry.)
(I’ll tell Jude that this is the last time he needs to pretend being a butler.)
As I stood in the bathroom and thought this, I started back to Jude.
At that moment —
Man: Excuse me. I’m lost, could you give me directions.
Kate: Yes, of course. Where are you going?
Man: It’s in this direction. Come with me for a moment.
Kate: What? That…
(This man…does he really need directions?)
Just as he was about to forcefully grab my arm, I stopped in confusion, and the man’s attitude changed.
Man: Tch…you’re Jude Jazza’s woman right? Listen up and follow me!
Kate: Mmgh.
A cloth was placed over my mouth preventing me from calling for help, and I was snatched away immediately.
I was taken to a warehouse-like place and my hands were tied with ropes.
(…..I wonder how many times I’ve been involved as Jude’s woman.)
(Come to think of it, when I was commanded to become Jude’s maid….)
[Flash Back Begins]
Jude: If yer gonna follow me ‘round, ya gotta ditch all the niceties ’n goodwill.
Jude: Or if ya don’t wanna get tossed aside, then forget the damn mission ‘n go back to sleep in yer castle, princess.
[Flash Back Ends]
(Even though I was warned…..my goodwill was taken advantage of.)
If Jude saw me, he’d laugh and say, “See, toldja.”
(…..Ugh. If that’s the case, I’d rather not be criticized.)
(There’s a chance I may be told not to tag along anymore because he’s fed up with me.)
I still don’t know a lot about Jude, I haven’t recorded enough.
(In order to stay by Jude’s side, I need to make it through this situation….!)
Just as the man turned his back to me, I picked up a nearby piece of wood.
I don’t have a firm grip because I’m tied with a rope, but it’s enough to swing down.
(…..Okay, now!)
I hit the man on the back of his knee, to get him to lose balance. At that time —
Jude: —You were late, so I came to collect you, my lady.
Man: Huh…..Jude Jazza?!
Jude appeared from the shadows and immediately closed the distance between him and the man,
Man: Urgh!
Jude’s brilliant roundhouse kick sent the man flying, and then fell to the ground.
Kate: ……Thank you for the help.
On the way back home, Jude stopped walking to listen as I began to speak.
Kate: But I …..I still want to know more about you, Jude.
Kate: Going forward, I’ll be more careful. So……
—So, please let me stay by your side. Before I could say anything Jude spoke.
Jude: ….Today you’re a young lady, and I am your butler.
Jude: Because of this, of course I’d help you.
(So my stupidity will be overlooked today…?)
Jude: Besides, you were swinging a piece of wood before I could even get in.
Kate: I was just completely absorbed in the moment….
Jude: …..It’s far better to beat someone to death with a piece of wood, than to be tortured.
While saying that, Jude lit a cigarette.
The long trailing smoke rises thinly into the sky and disappears.
For some reason, the lonely look on his face was burned into my heart.
Jude: ….Well, yer unfit as a young lady. Where d’ya find a young lady swingin’ wood ‘round.
Kate: You say that…., but Jude you’re also unfit as a butler!
Kate: You stopped speaking politely, and you started smoking without asking…..
Jude: If ya ain’t a young lady, then I ain’t a butler. This setup was rubbish from the start.
Jude: ….Or what, didja want me to wait on ya longer? Ya got good taste.
Kate: T-that’s not it! I….like the usual Jude best!
Jude: ……
Kate: Ah! T-that’s not right? Not like in that way, what I meant was
Jude: Ya rather be teased than waited on, right? ….Yer a woman with bad tastes.
I was frustrated that he laughed while mocking me.
But, it’s true that Jude’s ridiculing side fits better…..
(…..Maybe I do have bad tastes.)
While I felt a tinge of uneasiness about my preference in tastes…my strange day spent with Jude as my butler ended.
Jude really struggled to not say mean things lmao. So cute watching him correct himself. Let's give the fairy an A+ for effort.
And HELLO - are we not going to talk about how he couldn't resist Liam's and Ellis sparkly eyes?? ......or about how he lit a cigarette after that one line.

I'm guessing you you aren't the biggest wolf star fan? what do you think of them?
and of unrequited Sirius/James & James/Lily (where Sirius like James but James likes Lily and Lily likes James)?
Yep, you got my taste in Mauraders shipping in one with this.
I can see the appeal of adult Wolfstar, when it's a little toxic and their both using each other as a James stand-in, but not the common fanon portrayal of Wolfstar. Even as adults, though, it's not a ship I'm very interested in.
I discussed the Mauraders' dynamic here, and that kinda explains the way I see the teenage Mauraders. James is the glue holding it together; he's the one they all look up to. James and Sirius are the tight-knit freinds "never saw one without the other", Pettigrew trailing after them, and they hang out with Lupin, but they weren't close to Lupin. (Lupin also seems to like James more than Sirius, again, he's the glue holding it together).
I think it's telling about Remus and Sirius's friendship that Sirius (and James) thought Remus was the traitor, and Remus didn't bat an eye about Sirius getting sent to Azkaban as the traitor — they weren't close, and they didn't really trust each other. So the only Wolfstar I can see, is post-Azkaban, after James is dead. where they're trying to be best friends again, except they never really were, and James isn't there to hold everything together.
But, I am an unrequited Prongsfoot truther. I wrote in the past that James was Sirius's person and vice versa. They were kinda insane about each other, and it's clear Sirius remained closer to James and Lily after Hogwarts than the other Marauders. Sirius was the best man at Jily's wedding. Sirius was Harry's godfather. Sirius was James's first choice of secret-keeper. Sirius was the one Lily wrote to in hiding. And Sirius is very hung up on James. He can't say anything bad about James without blaming himself too. James is faultless in his mind because of how much he loves James. When he's excusing James's behaviour to Harry, it comes with heaps of praise about how great James was in everything.
Obviously, it can be platonic love, and it can 100% be read as such in the same way Snilly can be read as platonic. But it can also be read as romantic. The same way Severus's unrequited love for Lily can be read as romantic, so can Sirius's love for James. (It really is "Harry Potter and the people who wanted to fuck his parents" sometimes).
We don't see any implication that Sirius was interested in anyone romantically — except James, if you want to read into it (I linked a more thorough post about this 2 paragraphs ago).
There is this scene, for example:
With another shock of excitement, Harry saw Sirius give James the thumbs-up. Sirius was lounging in his chair at his ease, tilting it back on two legs. He was very good-looking; his dark hair fell into his eyes with a sort of casual elegance neither James’s nor Harry’s could ever have achieved, and a girl sitting behind him was eyeing him hopefully, though he didn’t seem to have noticed.
(OotP)
Sirius doesn't care for the girl(s) looking at him (and you know she's being obvious, Harry is our narrator, and he isn't great when it comes to romance), but Sirius, quite literally, only has eyes for James. The argument of unrequited Prongsfoot can be made based on the text. In my headcanon for this, Sirius never told James. James was in love/fixated on Lily — even though James saw Sirius as more of his equal than the other 2 Mauraders, Sirius wasn't going to risk it. To risk the most important person to him for what he sees as a crush that he can deal with.
So, yeah, your guess is accurate.

[text: 2:48pm] I found something. Call me l8tr. - Bonnie
Elena let out a shaky breath at the text in front of her. She finished putting the last of her books into her locker and slung her bag over her shoulder. She could hardly look away from the text as she shut the metal door closed, typing a quick response to Bonnie in the meantime.
[text: 2:49pm] I will. Thx B. - Elena
It almost seemed too good to be true, and as Elena returned to her car, she allowed herself a brief moment to envision a happy ending where Bonnie's new plan would actually work and they'd kill Klaus. Stefan would return to her. The Originals would be gone. Her town would be safe. She'd live.
Still, after so many run-ins with the supernatural, she'd learned to keep a healthy dose of reality mixed in with her positivity. Every plan was sure to work until it wasn't, and unfortunately, the last few indeed hadn't. It wasn't her life she was so worried about saving, it was everybody else's. With Klaus gone, they would be safe. But while Bonnie searched for any answers she could find, putting in all this time and effort, Elena had to at least try.
The moment she arrived home, she called Bonnie.
"Hey Elena,"
"Hi Bonnie, you said you found something? What's going on?" Elena sat down onto her bed with a small sigh.
"Yes and no. It's more of a loophole than anything else." Bonnie seemed a bit unsure, which gave rise to uncertainty in Elena. She prepared herself. Nothing was out of the question anymore.
"Okay, I'm ready."
"Like I said before, most of my grimoires don't go back far enough for the hybrid ritual, it's way too old. But I did find something in my oldest one, a description of it that included a word I've never seen before - virgino, in Latin."
Elena paused at that. She couldn't be hearing this correctly.
"As in...?"
"Yep. Virgin." Okay, so she had heard correctly.
"So what does that mean?"
“Elena, you don’t have to just be a doppelgänger… you have to be a virgin. So, theoretically, if you lost it, the ritual wouldn’t work.”
Elena's brows furrowed in confusion. She'd never heard that part of the ritual before. She wondered how accurate this description of the ritual could possibly be.
“Are you serious?”
“Yes, but there’s a catch…” She heard Bonnie's voice grow more dim, and she knew it was nothing good.
“Of course there is. What is it, Bonnie?”
“Well... in order to ensure total loss of purity... it has to be with an Original.”
・❥・
“Thank you for meeting with me, Elijah.”
Elena’s fingers fidgeted around the coffee mug, her nails tracing over the width of it with anxiety. Elijah inclined his head politely, sitting opposite her at the Mystic Grill. It was far from a private place to speak, but Elena chose it for that very reason. Though the conversation was awkward at best, she didn’t know how she’d react if the two of them were alone. She didn’t even know how he’d react.
Despite all his wisdom, she knew he’d never guess why she’d asked to meet here.
“To what do I owe the pleasure, Elena?”
He cut a handsome figure, wearing a perfectly tailored black suit that accentuated his shoulders with a matching black collared shirt underneath. The shirt opened at his throat and exposed the smallest peek of his clavicle. His hair was shorter now, brushed back and away from his face. A gold ring encircled one of his fingers. Noticing these details certainly wasn’t helping her nervousness. She swallowed the dryness in her throat at sound of the word pleasure.
Their “relationship” was built on shifting sands and she knew that, a tentative trust that both she and he tested the boundaries of. This would certainly cross the next three boundaries.
“Well, Bonnie was reading more into the hybrid ritual, trying to find a loophole. Trying to find our opportunity to kill Klaus.”
Elijah’s eyes searched hers but he said nothing in response, patiently waiting for her to continue. The words seem to spill out of her mouth as slowly as possible, yet her heart rammed in her rib cage. She was grateful he couldn't read her mind but doubtless he heard that at least.
What if he says no? How embarrassing would that be? And if it happened, how would she even explain to Stefan and Damon why suddenly the ritual wouldn’t work? Why it had to be Elijah?
“Yes.”
His smooth voice broke her from her reverie. She cleared her throat and tried again, taking another sip of her coffee. Matt had courteously slipped an extra something in her coffee when she’d asked, figuring even a drop of liquid courage would do her some good. It burned like a low ember in her stomach. Elijah’s tea stood in front of him, untouched.
“She found one other way that the ritual could be dismantled, apart from all the other options.” The other options being actually dying, becoming a vampire, etc. She’d gladly give her life if it meant her friends and town were safe, but killing Klaus would ensure safety forever. She had to at least try.
“Apparently, it’s not just the sacrifice of the doppelgänger… it’s the sacrifice of a virginal doppelgänger. So if the doppelgänger is no longer... you know, it won't work.”
Elijah’s brow furrowed, and she held some small victory in the fact that she was able to catch him so completely off guard. It made her feel less ridiculous in suggesting this, but also showed that not even the Originals knew all.
“But how can this be? I’ve never heard of such a requirement.”
“I guess it’s just one of the old failsafes from that era, tied in with the idea of innocence and purity in the face of…” She trailed off hesitantly.
“Evil.” He finished for her with a slow smile. She allowed herself a small smile in return.
When silence settled upon the conversation once more, Elijah took up the mantle, shifting to lean closer to her across the table. “And I assume you are a-“
“Yes.” The word was barely a whisper but she knew he heard it loud and clear.
Elijah raised his brows in some surprise, a smirk crossing his lips for the briefest of flashes. His hands quickly moved the teacup to the side of the table, the drink long forgotten. His fingers tapped slowly at the wooden table in thought, and Elena took a small breath into her lungs and held it.
“Forgive me, but with both Salvatore’s at your heels, and if I recall their history with Katerina-“ Elijah’s palm turned upwards, his eyes casting downwards for a moment.
“I am not Katherine.”
Then his gaze flickered up to hers, amusement clear in his warm brown eyes. She thought she saw a small look of admiration somewhere in those eyes.
“No. You are certainly not, Elena.”
Elena took another sip of the coffee, begging for the alcohol to provide some inspiration. As it was, her words were failing her and they hadn’t even gotten to the brunt of it. Part of her hoped he’d ascertain it himself without her even needing to say it. Though she wouldn’t be surprised if he wanted to hear he’d say it either. Elijah was a noble man, and he ensured any and all terms of a deal were clear. He was the key to their plan to kill Klaus, and innuendos would never do, not when there was so much on the line. Thankfully, he wasn’t one for vulgarity either.
“So, if I’m understanding correctly, there’s only one thing left for you to do.” The amusement still never left Elijah’s eyes and it made her squirm in her chair. His gaze was so intent and heavy on her, his presence commanding. He was a man unlike she’d ever known. “But I’m assuming there’s a reason you called me here.”
"Yes." Here goes nothing. "The only way to ensure the total-“ she cleared her throat again. “-loss of purity is for it to be with an Original.”
Realization dawned on his features in the blink of an eye. Then, ever so slowly, she watched his face darken with something else. Her eyes dropped back to her fingers, nails digging into her nail beds. She wanted to disappear, to melt right into her chair.
“And further ensure the division of the family.” Elijah murmured. “If it can only be an Original, then only Niklaus’s own family can betray him.”
A small knot of fear tied itself in Elena’s stomach. If he refused, if he changed his mind about killing Klaus, all hope was lost. She tried her best to gauge his reaction, but he was unreadable at best, a stone statue at worst. Elijah never let his hand slip, and she could no more understand him than she could an ancient language.
Suddenly, her nerves got the better of her. The caffeine outweighed the alcohol, and she felt herself standing to her feet, grabbing her bag from the back of the chair.
“I’m sorry, this was a ridiculous idea. We’ll find another way-“ She took no more than a step away from the table, prepared to flee the building when she felt his hand take hers gently.
“Elena.”
He pulled on her hand slightly, just enough that she stepped back towards him and towards the table. Even in the smallest, most delicate of gestures, she felt his strength thrumming in his fingertips. She turned to face him, and he’d stood to his full height, his broad frame dwarfing hers.
It was then that she allowed herself the opportunity to even process what she was asking. She’d been so caught up in trying to kill Klaus, prevent any more innocent lives lost, that she hadn’t thought about what this would. mean. Her and Elijah. Together.
A flash of their bodies intertwining appeared in her mind, the heat of his hand on hers suddenly feeling like a searing flame on her skin. The knot of fear began to dissolve, and something else pooled in her lower stomach.
The same feeling she saw in his eyes just then.
Four little words, and despite herself, she felt her heart flutter.
“You have my word.”
・❥・
“I can’t believe this is happening.” Bonnie repeated for the fifth time that evening. Elena shot her a half annoyed glance, to which Bonnie grinned in response.
“I know.” Elena repeated for the sixth. All too well. Though she had a feeling she had no real idea.
Elena sat down into the bed with a quiet sigh. Bonnie had brought the grimoire where she found the loophole so Elena could see it for herself. Though her Latin was nonexistent, there was no denying that word. Virgin. She'd even brought a few extras she didn't have time to go through earlier in case they had any other information to offer. So far, nothing. The books shifted slightly towards Elena in their careful piles as her weight settled into the covers.
“What about Stefan? I thought you guys were waiting.”
The reminder of Stefan struck a chord in her heart, but one that had been struck too many times lately. She believed in her and Stefan’s love, but with him firmly in Klaus’s grasp, she could hardly recognize him. As it was, she had little time to wait.
“Stefan’s lost right now, Bonnie. And if this could get him away from Klaus and save his life, I’m going to try.”
“And Damon?” Bonnie offered quietly, with some note of derision in her voice. Elena knew how she felt about him, but there was also no denying Damon's obvious feelings for her, and how protective he'd become. It was almost too much to think about. Instead, she stood up and began aimlessly tidying the room, putting things away in random drawers. What does one do to prepare for this situation?
“He doesn’t know- he can’t know. He’ll lose it. He’ll say it’s a bad plan.” Along with a few choice words for Elijah and maybe a dagger dipped in white oak ash. Then they’d have no plan.
“Well I wouldn’t say it’s a good plan.” Bonnie responded sardonically.
Elena’s mouth dropped in fake disbelief as she put her diary away.
“This was your idea!”
“You’re the one going through with it! And I mean, Elijah? He’s kind of scary.”
“As opposed to who?” Elena responded with a mirthless laugh. “And he’s not that scary. He’s just… aristocratic."
“No? Oh.” Bonnie teased coyly. “I forgot how well you’re acquainted…" She cocked a brow at Elena's pattering around the room "Are you actually cleaning right now?”
“I don’t know what I’m supposed to do.” She admitted. “How does one seduce an Original?”
Bonnie started flipped some of the grimoires closed, and Elena looked up nervously at the clock. He would arrive in 30 minutes. Anticipation buzzed through her veins at the thought. Bonnie slid off the bed once the books allowed a path and stood in front of Elena, taking her hands in hers as a show of strength.
“I'm sorry, Elena, this is a big deal. Your first time but it comes with the caveat of saving your life and everybody else's. Not to mention it's happening with a thousand year old vampire. Just be your normal, charming self. This is a common interest of killing Klaus and nothing more.”
“Right,” Elena smiled. Nothing more. Right?
“But-“ Bonnie reached behind her and pulled one of the drawers she’d just shut open and retrieved her hair brush. With a shrug, she handed it to Elena. “Couldn’t hurt.”
Elena smirked and took the hairbrush from her hands, combing it through her locks gently.
・❥・
After Bonnie left, Elena paced for another ten minutes incessantly. She'd brushed her hair, done minimal makeup, but left herself in her usual outfit of jeans and a tank top. Anything else felt like it was trying too hard.
She sat down onto edge of the bed and glanced at her phone. A few messages from Damon and Caroline. Nothing from Stefan. She dropped the phone onto the bed and waited. With each passing minute, she felt her heart beginning to race faster and faster.
This is insane. How is this my life?
The fact that it was happening in her bedroom was even stranger. Elijah had been inside of her house before but this was something else entirely. He'd been perfectly gentlemanly in allowing her to choose the location, but there weren't many options. Elijah had no permanent domicile as of yet, and a hotel room felt too seedy, even the nicest one in town; though he'd even assured her he'd take care of the cost.
Only after she ensured Ric and Jeremy wouldn't be home did she suggest her place, a small level of familiarity in this situation. She wasn't afraid per se, but the way her body reacted to his was jarring. There was something deeply forbidden about it, and she couldn't help but be drawn to it. Being home would help ground her.
His knock came, short and sweet. Elena's heart nearly jumped out of her chest as she stood up and walked down the stairs to let him in. Her fingers curling around the knob, she took one more quiet breath. No going back now.
She opened the door to Elijah standing on her porch, clad in his usual tailored suit. The black fabric looked heavy and luxurious with the way it laid on his shoulders, accentuating his broad frame. The dark shirt he was wearing that afternoon was replaced with a crisp white one, and the tie he wore was black to match the jacket. There was stubble on his jaw, she noticed with a note of appreciation. It gave him a slightly more disheveled look than usual. Her nervousness began to melt away at the sight of his handsome face and his calm demeanour.
He was wearing the same gold ring as before, and she only noticed when she spotted the crimson red rose in his fingers. With a smile, he extended it to her. "Elena."
"Elijah." Elena reached out and took the rose from his hands, giving a slight smirk. "A flower. Very symbolic of you."
Elijah let out a quiet laugh. "I assure you, I meant no such innuendo. It didn't seem right to come without a gift."
"Well, it's beautiful. Please come in."
He stepped in as invited and she shut the door behind him. Now that they were well and truly alone, her heart picked up the pace once more, but she busied her fingers with the stem of the rose so as not to betray it. The man was a thousand years old and undoubtedly had known countless women. Her experience to his could not pale more in comparison. "I'm sorry, this is a bit... overwhelming."
"Undoubtedly."
Elijah stepped towards her slowly, closing the distance between them more than they ever had before. Elena stared upwards at him, her eyes barely at the level of his lips. His gaze was compelling but warm as it fell upon her, and she felt a breath hitch in her lungs at the nearness of him. "I want to make this experience comfortable for you, Elena. Your terms."
Elena nodded slowly, swallowing back her saliva. "Should we go upstairs?"
Elijah inclined his head with a small smile to which Elena smiled back. As intimidating as he could be, he was trying to put her at ease, and she appreciated it. She led the way up the stairs and to her bedroom, Elijah trailing behind. Once upstairs, she placed the rose delicately on the top of the dresser and then turned to face him.
Elijah looked incredibly out of place in her bedroom. Finely dressed and with an air of sophistication only a thousand years on earth could garner, he was like an ancient relic pulled straight from the history books. He looked better suited to a battlefield than a modern-day bedroom. But if he was ill at ease, he certainly never showed it.
His eyes met hers again and Elena's stomach flip-flopped. He had barely even touched her yet, and she was already reacting so viscerally to the vampire in front of her. Again, snapshots of their bodies entwining flashed in her mind like a promise of what was to come. Amusement crossed his chiseled features and he raised a hand to gently place his thumb and forefinger on her chin. "I can hear your heart beating, Elena."
Beating was an understatement. It felt like it was about to pop out of her chest. His touch on her face certainly wasn't helping that matter.
"Are you nervous?"
She thought before answering, their eyes searching each other, trying to gauge the other's feelings. But despite what she'd initially thought... she wasn't. Excitement thrummed within her, her arousal beginning to simmer at the seductive way he seemed to be looking down at her. He knew exactly what kind of power he held, and he enjoyed it. It was unnerving, but it was thrilling.
"No."
"Good. I want you to enjoy yourself, Elena. To let go and give in." To me, his eyes seemed to say. Give in to me completely. She managed a nod but found that words had escaped her completely. Was he moving in closer?
His fingers never dropped from her chin and she had nowhere to look but directly at him. Warmth bloomed from inside her stomach, her body signalling just how much she wanted to give in.
Using his other hand, he lifted a single finger to trace over the curvature of her neck, beginning from her collarbone all the way up to where her jaw began. His finger pressed just so behind her jawbone where her pulse was strongest, and she felt her blood sing in response to him.
"I meant what I said. Your terms. You're in complete control."
"I know..." Closer still. Their lips were a hairsbreadth apart.
"Yes?" She could feel the smile in his lips.
"Yes."
His lips met with hers and she felt herself crumble. His kiss was as captivating as she could've imagined, without a trace of insistence. He was telling the truth; the pace was in her hands. At first, shyness won out. Elena returned the kiss slowly at first, but as her lips deepened, so did his.
His hand had fallen from her face and instead, he pressed his palm to to her mid-back. It dipped no lower. Ever the gentleman, she thought, unable to supress the smile between their kiss.
He seemed to sense her amusement because his hand fell lower not a moment later, placing itself into the small of her back. He pressed her body closer to his, her chest landing flush with his as though he were challenging her.
Something sparked within Elena as the warmth of Elijah's hand spread through her hips. A need to know, a need to discover. She found the courage to touch him back, raising her hands to slip over his shoulders, fingers delicately tracing over the back of his neck. The fabric of his suit was soft to the touch, his skin softer still.
She'd done some things with Matt and Stefan before, but with Elijah, it felt as though she knew nothing at all. In this, she wanted him to take the lead. It seemed he intended to to some degree as both of his hands came down to her waist, the large expanse of his hands burning through her shirt. Desire began to take over, and their kisses grew deeper still. She ran her fingernails along the nape of his neck, coming down to scratch over his shoulders.
His hands pressed into her hips again before he broke the kiss. Elena felt how flushed she was, cheeks pink and lips swollen from his amorousness. She saw a muscle work in his jaw and he regarded her with half-lidded eyes. He raised a graceful hand and indicated towards the bed with a half-smirk.
"Please."
Elena pulled herself away from Elijah and obeyed, sitting on the side of the bed before lying down. Not once did she look away from him as he shrugged his jacket off, then loosened the knot of his tie. Desire pooled in the deepest parts of her at the sign of him so untidy. He looked like every woman's dream as he unbuttoned the cuffs of his white shirt and rolled them up slowly, exposing tanned forearms corded with lean muscle.
He returned to her, eyes appreciatively slipping from her neck downwards to her chest and her hips. "Good girl."
Slowly, he leaned down and captured her lips in a kiss again, his arms on either side of her head. The night had fallen in earnest now, the single lamp she left on providing a faint warm glow in the room. Elijah’s body swallowed her, the broadness of his shoulders and the dimness of the room entombed her in what felt like an eternity of him.
Elena reached up and twirled her fingers around his tie, giving an experimental tug to pull him down closer to her. He chuckled against her mouth and she did it again, pleased with the way his weight settling on her felt.
"Not that good." She whispered against his mouth.
"No? Show me."
Passion reignited, his mouth was suddenly everywhere. On hers, trailing kisses along her jaw, her collarbone, between the valley of her breasts. When his mouth stopped where her shirt ended, his fingers tugged upwards at the bottom of it, and she broke the kiss to pull it over her head.
With practiced ease, he unbuttoned her jeans and began to tug them down. She sat up slightly to help pull them off, then fell back in only her bra and underwear. Just before he could continue, she reached for one of his hands and tentatively placed it between her legs. Elijah raised his brows at her but acquiesced.
One arm outstretched between her thighs, the other bent as he hovered over her, he gazed down at her with darkened eyes. "I think you'll be good for me."
Elena's breathing pitched into a soft moan as she felt Elijah's fingers press against her underwear. Moving softly but with intent, his index and middle finger rubbed upwards, careful to barely brush against her covered clit, just where she needed him most. Her hips shifted at the pleasure, lips parting as another moan escaped her lips. His fingers were trained and precise.
"Won't you?" He asked, and she could hardly piece together a sentence. His voice was deep enough it reverberated in her chest. She felt herself growing wetter and she knew he could feel it too.
"Yes, Elijah."
"Mm."
She reached for his tie again to pull him down into another kiss. In the meantime, his fingers brushed the edge of her underwear aside and as his fingers slipped against her pussy, she gasped into his mouth. Finally, after a few moments, his fingers slowly came to her clit, and she felt every nerve sizzle in her body at the feeling.
He pressed another kiss to her lips as his fingers slowly slipped inside of her, and she suppressed another moan into his mouth. They moved slowly, collecting her wetness and teasing her. Her hips bucked lightly, chasing the feeling.
"So innocent... What do you want, Elena?" His fingers paused over her clit and she let out a soft whine at the cessation.
"I want you to touch me, Elijah. Please."
His touch felt like electricity as his fingers returned to run against her clit, and her body tensed as the pleasure swam through her. She already felt spent and yet he was still fully clothed.
Her hands reached for his shirt, but his hands captured hers before she could even the score. "Not yet. Not until I think you've had enough."
Her head and shoulders fell back onto the bed as his fingers picked up their pace. He alternated between slipping inside of her and pressing his thumb against her clit, until the energy building inside of her threatened to spill over. Her hands found his shoulders and her fingernails dug into his shirt at the pleasure, brow creasing as it threatened to overtake her.
Finally, with one last roll of his fingers, she felt the wave crash into her, sending ripples of sparks down to her very fingers and toes. If he were a mortal man, the grip she had on his body would've left marks. Elijah's mouth swallowed the last of the moans escaping from Elena's lips as his fingers rode out her orgasm, his thumb occasionally brushing against her sensitive clit, causing her to jump.
"I like the sight of you like this, sweet Elena. Undone, writhing. Your pleasure in my hands."
"And yours in mine." She panted.
Elena pushed up on Elijah's shoulders and he allowed it, the positions reversing until she straddled his hips. His hands came up to her waist, gripping it as she slowly rolled them over his. His desire was evident in the bulge of his pants, and it gave her immense satisfaction to know she had the same effect that he did on her.
Her fingers made quick work of his belt, unbuttoning while pressing her hand against the outline of him. He released a quiet groan at the feeling of her touch, and she wanted to hear more. His fingers came away from her hips to divest himself of his tie properly, slipping the satin from around his neck.
She slid from off his hips and stood at the foot of the bed, leaning over to tug him towards her by the loop of his trousers. He stood, his shirt half unbuttoned and creased, and his belt hanging around his hips. Elena felt herself grow wetter as she sank to her knees in front of him, and he watched with dark eyes as she began to pull his trousers and underwear down, just low enough to release his cock.
He was long and thick in her hand, and his head fell back as she leaned forward and licked a trail from shaft to tip. Slowly, she took him into her mouth, licking and sucking his heavy length until she could take him no more.
A deep growl emanated from Elijah’s chest, his hand coming up to rest against the back of her head. He let her set the pace, but his fingers knotted themselves in her hair as she swirled her tongue around his tip, tasting every last inch of him.
“You wicked little thing.” He sighed, his jaw clenching and his muscle tensing. She could see he desperately wanted to move his hips, but stayed in full control as she pressed him deeper into her mouth.
She placed her hands on his thighs, gripping the fabric of his trousers to give herself more balance, and she felt his fingers brush the hair away from her face and behind her ear before lightly collecting it into his grip. The small gesture made her heart skip as she set a quick rhythm.
He groaned again in pleasure, allowing himself a few more moments before delicately tugging on her hair to bring her back up to standing position. In a flash, the moment she stood, he had her trapped against the wall, his chest pressing into her shoulder blades. Her fingers bent and scratched against the wall, seeking purchase as her lungs seemed to give out. His scent enveloped her. His mouth was hot against her ear.
“So innocent and yet so wicked. So ready to be defiled. Will you give into me, Elena?” Give in, her mind whispered.
She found herself pushing back against the wall to be closer to him, the outline of his body providing delicious heat against hers. She felt his strength emanating from every muscle, both hands pressed on either side of her. Using one hand, he tilted her jaw until her neck was exposed to him. For a moment, she thought he would drink from her, but instead, he placed gentle half-kiss-half-bites along the slope of her neck. His hand then dipped to her back where he quickly unhooked her bra and slipped it off her shoulders. Her underwear was tugged down until it fell. Goosebumps rose all over her skin at the thought of being fully naked in front of Elijah Mikaelson.
“I want to give in, Elijah. Give me all of you.”
Her back was pressed into the mattress before she realized, her body softly settling on the bed. Elijah undid the last of the buttons on his shirt and pulled off his trousers.
“So beautiful.” He murmured, his hand coming up to cup her breast, thumb tracing over her pebbled nipple. Elena sighed at the feeling.
Elijah’s body was just as beautiful, she thought. The expanse of his chest was strong, his abdomen and arms both lean with taut muscle. A deep V-line followed into his hips, his cock erect.
Just as their lips moved to reconnect, Elena’s eyes met his again. Suddenly, this became more than just breaking a ritual. Both were entrenched in their desire, desperate to for release in the other’s body. Nervousness bubbled up inside of her again as she realized it was time. Everything else she had done before, but not this. She knew generally what to expect of sex, but certainly not when it came to a thousand year old vampire being her first.
“I’ll be gentle.”
Elena nodded at his kind words, fingers reaching up to his shoulders again. He balanced on one arm as the other reached out to touch her slick heat, and instantly, she felt the unreleased desire come flooding back. Satisfied, Elijah slowly guided himself between her legs.
Her chest arched upwards at the feeling. Heat spread from her hips as her pussy stretched to accommodate his length. True to his word, he moved slowly as he rolled his hips towards her, sinking deeper into her with every breath. She could feel him gauging her reaction and moving only so long as she allowed it.
Elena felt as though she might burst from the feeling, her breathing devolving into moans as he settled himself to the hilt inside of her. One of her legs was bent, the other laid straight, and one of his hands gripped her thigh as he used the other to balance himself over her, watching her face.
Once the burn of the stretch passed, pleasure began to trickle in. He felt immense inside of her, overwhelming in every aspect of his body as he stilled his hips against hers.
“Are you alright?”
“Yes- yes.” Her eyes fluttered closed.
“Does it feel good, Elena?”
He slowly rolled his hips back and she let out an involuntarily moan at the feeling of him moving inside of her. When he rolled his hips forward again, pleasure erupted from within her, and her nails dug into the skin of his shoulders.
“Yes, yes!“
Elijah pressed a kiss to her lips, and obeyed. He set a slow but sensual rhythm to his hips as he moved in and out of her with deliberate care. Any discomfort long forgotten, Elena felt her own hips moving in tandem, hissing in delight at the friction their hips created.
He chuckled at her reaction. “So good for me.”
The praise was like an extra douse of kerosene to the flame.
“Please, Elijah- more.”
“More what? Hm?”
All the while, he never stopped moving, his hips picking up a faster pace. In that moment, the hand resting on her thigh slipped between their two entwined bodies. His fingers immediately located her clit, and the combination of him pumping in and out of her, and his thumb pad rolling against her clit, her moan nearly turned into a scream. She could hardly think past her own name.
“Use your words, Elena. Tell me what you want.”
But she couldn’t. Her body shook with pleasure, her nails digging crescent shaped impressions into his skin.
“I’m so close, please…”
His fingers and hips slowed down ever so slightly, and she whined at the feeling of her release slowly ebbing away.
“Do you want more?” He asked again.
“Yes.” Her voice was thick with desperation. All she could think about was the way his hips moved in between her thighs. The length of him hit all of the most inner parts, sending shockwaves of pleasure up her spine. She wanted more of anything he would give her.
He slowly pulled out of her, releasing his grip on her and flipped their positions once more. He kneeled behind her on the bed while she lay flat on her stomach, then he slowly moved until his body hovered over hers.
She pressed her thighs together, trying to gain back some friction, frustrated at the loss of him. She felt him press a kiss to her shoulder blade and in the same moment, he lifted her hips and slowly slid back into her.
She gasped at the feeling, her hips rising to meet his, and he settled back onto his knees, gripping her hips as he set a quicker pace. She felt herself dripping between her thighs, moans slipping past her lips as Elijah thrusted in and out.
She was desperate for release, and as his hips stuttered a bit, she knew he was too. He reached forward for her, pulling her back towards him until her back was pressed to his chest once more. One arm encircled her waist while the other hand reached for her clit. She nearly folded at the feeling, but his arm kept her to him, and suddenly she was right at the precipice of her release once more.
“Will you be good for me, Elena?”
She managed a nod, fingers digging into his forearm. His cock and fingers were relentless against her, and she felt like she was about to scream.
“Yes, I’ll be good for you, Elijah, I’m so- so close.”
“So good...” He murmured. “Cum for me.”
The pleasure erupted inside of her, her hips stuttering and her pussy clenching around him as she reached the brink of orgasm. Elijah groaned at the feeling of her coming undone around him, his hand falling away from her clit. He gripped her to him and thrusted inside of her a handful more times before spilling inside of her. Elena relished in the feeling of him in those last moments before he released her.
It was done.
Elena collapsed onto the bed with Elijah close by, unable to move, to think, even to breathe. He shifted himself over so as not to crush her, the pair panting deeply in the thralls of their desire.
The phrase total loss of purity echoed in her mind as she opened her eyes and looked upon Elijah. The shameless way she begged for him, the way her hips moved in search of him. She had corrupted herself entirely. Defiled by an Original.
In more ways than one, they were linked together forever.
After a minute, their breathing settled into silence.
“Do you think it’ll work?” She whispered.
Elijah looked over at her, sitting up slightly. He raised a hand to gently move one of the strands of her hair away from her face. It felt as intimate as anything they'd just done. The heat having died down between them, there was nothing left to do but face the music.
"I have long learned to keep hope at bay whenever Niklaus is involved."
Elena nodded. Of course he was right, but she tried not to look too concerned. He seemed to notice.
"I hope you don't regret this night too deeply if it does not. I recognize what a sacrifice this must've been for you."
Elena shook her head, mirroring him as she slowly sat up as well.
"I don't regret it, Elijah."
He smiled softly, and she returned it.
"Neither do I."

The next morning after Elijah left, Damon arrived at her house. She could tell he was relieved that she was indeed alive, but simultaneously annoyed at having been ignored. He wore his usual leather jacket, black jeans and boots, with a few strands of black hair falling into his eyes. She couldn't help but compare the two men that were at her door just a few hours apart. A leather jacket and a suit.
"Oh good, you're still standing. Would've been nice to know." He raised his cellphone up as he crossed the threshold. "You know these nifty little things called cellphones? I called like three times."
She'd passed out almost immediately after Elijah had left, though she'd only been able to sleep a few hours before she couldn't ignore Damon any longer.
"Sorry, I just fell asleep. Bonnie and I were going through some old grimoires trying to find something." I hope that's convincing enough. She'd even made sure to shower and change after Elijah had left, not wanting Damon to risk sensing anything had been awry. She led him upstairs back up to her bedroom, desperate to go back to sleep.
"And? Did our witchy encyclopedia find anything?"
"She did, actually."
"Mhm. I bet."
Elena looked over at Damon with a raised brow at his suspicion and he met it with a smirk.
"You hatched a plan, didn't you?" He did the eye thing. Elena blinked and turned away, giving a noncommittal shrug.
"Not really. It was barely a plan."
"Fine, don't tell me." Damon closed the space between them with a single stride until he was looking down at Elena. He gave another smirk. "Just promise me it wasn't anything stupid."
Elena smiled. "You have my w- I mean, I promise."
Damon nodded once, then reached over her shoulder to grab something from her dresser. Elena's heart dropped when Elijah's red rose came into view. Damon twirled it between his fingers with narrowed eyes and a crooked smile.
"What's this, then?"

Do we know specifically everyone’s height in kotlc?? We obviously know Stina is the tallest with Marella being the shortest in canon. Yk what I’ll just make my own list.
Sophie: 5’5 (She’d be either average height or slightly above average)
Dex: 5’7 (It’s mentioned that he grew a lot throughout the books)
Biana: 5’4 (I see her being a little shorter than Sophie)
Keefe: 5’8 (He could be 5’9 but 5’8 sounds right)
Fitz: 5’10 (I always saw Fitz as the tallest of the og group for sure)
Tam: 5’4 (Short king!)
Linh: 5’5 (She seems to be about Sophie’s height and she’s deff taller than Tam)
Marella: 4’11 (Yep she’s short lol)
Stina: 5’11 (Seems right)
Wylie: 6’0 (He’s the oldest and it’s mentioned that he’s pretty tall I believe)
Maruca: 5’6 (She’s slightly taller than Sophie)
Jensi: 5’3 (Ik they said he grew up in Stellarlune but I still see him as a lil kid ;)
These are pretty much headcanon heights, what do you guys think? Accurate? Super far off?
