do i smell a holy french speaking trinity..? you couldn't have gotten me to listen to french music till recently except for a few exceptions here and there, i never really connected with it, but these three right here... damn. and it particularly helps that they're my age and unapologetic women!! vulnerability and fierceness in the same discography will always be my favourite combo, i think 🙏🏼 i meant to link their debut albums but you can't do that apparently so here's three of my favourite songs by these beauties!!

and it all started with miki, whose music i checked out bc i saw people criticising her on twitter and then came across an article about her debut EP, i immediately liked échec et mat and even though her music is different from the other three's, i feel like this post wouldn't be complete without her 🤗

'How does that fog tool work?' If Sol's forgotten his checklist you might as well supply an item.

You don't miss the excitement that flashes across his face before he collects himself. 'I didn't do much of the designing. The real brains behind the operation is there.' He points to a woman at the other table. She's enthusiastically talking to a few other people listening attentively, a plate perched precariously on her knee.

'She used to be stationed at the lighthouse too, but she moved away a few months ago. Not enough people to talk to.'

Another witch leans over to listen as he dives into a halting explanation of the rig.

'We worked sigils into rocks, the railing, and around the base of the lighthouse. The metal - that doesn't matter, actually. It doesn't - it took ages to get it right. It uses proper inverse wind sigils, it sucks air in instead of just stopping it. And once the fog blows in another set of sigils condenses the water so it runs down into the sea. It's not perfect but it - but it makes the area a little bit clearer.'

He awkwardly tries to trace out a sigil on his plate but stops with a sigh. 'Maybe I can show you properly later.'

You wonder if Deema might be familiar with the sigil.

The other witch says, 'That was fascinating.'

Sol nods in agreement. You take a bite from your plate. You're out of conversation ideas, too.

'That's the end of that story,' he says somewhat sadly.

You poke Reginald absently. The sigil is something Deema might be interested in hearing, but if you stay out too late she'll be asleep by the take you get home.
