Here I want to share my unofficial / fan translation of what is being said in the interview. I'm still learning Korean myself, so this was pretty educational. This video was released on October 2022!

What else could I do?” Interviewer: “That must’ve been unbearable…” Mother: “It was. Especially when he’d scream at me in front of his friends…” Interviewer: “His own friends?” Mother: “Even when they’d come over to… ‘work’, he’d act out. Smashing glasses, throwing things… raging at me. But I told myself, ‘This is my burden to bear as his mother. If he needs to take it out on someone… let it be me.’ So I endured it. That’s just… what I had to do.”

05:05–07:08: Visiting Yoon Byung-ho in Prison Interviewer: “After his second arrest… Did he reach out to you? Or did you visit him? Could you share what that was like?” Mother: “The day he was locked up… he called me. They let him make one phone call. He said, ‘Mom… I’m okay… Don’t worry. I’ll reflect on what I’ve done.’ Then he hung up. When I went to see him… he begged me to get him out. ‘Apply for bail! I need to leave!’ But I know if he gets out… he’ll just relapse. So I lied. ‘Okay, I’ll apply.’ And I did. But… his bail was denied. Over and over. It’s hard for him in there, but… he looks healthier now. Every time I visit… his face has color. He’s gained weight. His body’s recovering. Part of me thinks… maybe he should stay longer. Let the prison be his hospital. Let him heal completely. But then I remember… this is his punishment to endure. He has to face it. I don’t know… I don’t know what’s right anymore.”Interviewer: “I see…”

07:08–10:00: A Mother’s Heartbreak Interviewer: “How does it feel… to send your beloved son… to prison… for the second time?” Mother: “It feels like… my heart is being ripped apart. I pray every day… that my son… will come home safely… with a smile on his face. That’s all I think about. Even now… during prison visits…” Interviewer: “The visits are brief, right?” Mother: “So brief. You wait two and a half hours… just to see him for ten minutes. And when you leave… it’s agony. I cry all the way home. Sometimes… it feels cruel. You sit there for hours… and they only let you talk for ten minutes. You can’t even touch him…” Interviewer: “There’s that glass wall… talking through microphones…” Mother: “No hugs. No holding hands. And when the ten minutes are up… the mic cuts off instantly. Not a second more. They say, ‘Visitation time starts now,’ turn on the mic, and then… ‘Ten seconds left.’ Click. Gone. All I want is to hold him… just once. But I can’t even brush his fingers. It’s torture. Once… during his trial… he came in shackled. Three guards tied him up so tight he couldn’t move. I begged them, ‘Let me hug him, just once.’ They said no. 10:01–10:58: Yoon Byung-ho’s Letter to His Mother (First Public Reveal) Interviewer: “This… is the letter he sent you, right?” Mother: “Yes.” Interviewer: “Would it be alright… if I read a part of it?” Interviewer: [After skimming] “There’s so much he’s… enduring.” Mother: “He’s enduring everything.”

10:59–13:18: The Mother’s Letter to Yoon Byung-ho Interviewer: “You mentioned writing a letter to Byung-ho… Could we take a moment to read part of it?” Mother: “My eyes… aren’t what they used to be… ‘To my one and only son… Are you suffering?’” Interviewer: “Take your time… It’s okay…” Mother: “‘My son, after these dark and painful days pass, only bright ones will remain. Your father and I will always be here, cheering you on. Let’s treat this as a chance for you to be reborn. Let’s endure and overcome this together. I know you can. When I see your empty studio… your music equipment left in disarray… I cry. Sometimes, I swear I can still hear you working on your songs. This pain is the price of your mistakes… So reflect deeply, deeply. Come back to us with a clean body and a clear mind. We’ll wait. I miss you so much, my son.’” “I’ll stop here… I want to hold him so badly… but I can’t. All I pray is that he reflects, repents… and comes home.”

13:19–14:36: A Mother’s Apology to the Public Mother: “My son touched drugs—something he never should’ve—and now he’s locked away. But he’s reflecting deeply… writing letters full of regret. To everyone who believed in him… I’m so deeply sorry we’ve betrayed your trust. When he’s released… his father and I will never let him stray again. We’ll hold him close. Guide him. Watch over him. We’ll fight every day to help him change completely—180 degrees. And… if you could find it in your hearts… to give him the courage to start over… we’d be forever grateful.”

LGC RETREAT

SCHEDULE TYPE: TRIMESTER ( PART 1 OUT OF ??? ) SCHEDULE RESTRICTIONS: cannot be paired with another trimester schedule, unless stated otherwise. for reference as to whether your muse is eligible for this event, please click over HERE.

( important notes: in the other career missions, this is formerly called 'PROJECT ???' once the episodes for this are aired, all of the new idols, actors, and models will be known publicly. )

as told by many of the managers, all of the members of TYPE ZERO, V&A, CRYSTALLIS, FABULA along with ACTORS and MODELS are all woken up at 3am in the morning with cameras recording everyone’s morning surprise. for some of the TYPE ZERO and V&A members, it’s not the first time they’ve experienced this situation and can possibly deduce what is going on.

with the help of the managers, everyone heads to their respective vans and buses as they are sent to the north chungcheong province. on the way there, the staff members inform the debuted artists that they are now filming a variety show series called ‘LGC RETREAT’, where all of them will be sent to a remote area to play games and have fun. but in the true variety show fashion, for every game that is played, there are also consequences as well…

OPENING / ARRIVAL OF THE DEBUTED ARTISTS

the order of the groups that arrive at the destination ( which happens to be an empty building ) are as follows: V&A ( they will be considered as one team for this show ) > FABULA > TYPE ZERO > CRYSTALLIS > LGC AGENCY. to give enough filming content and time, each group will get out of their van or bus ( the latter in the case of lgc agency ) one by one and give their best runway walk. by the end of the path, they will have to strike their best pose that would exemplify their group ( bonus points if it’s something comedic ).

for the groups that have done their best runway walk, they will be told to sit in their respective spots. as for LGC AGENCY, because there are a lot of actors and models, BAE RAEWON ( previously known as the pd for lgc boys adventures and the current pd for this show ) will tell them that some of the members will be split up. HAN JISOO, KIM JINYOUNG, LEE HANBYUL, LIM SANGHYUN, SEONG BYUNGHO, YANG AERI, YOON MINJAE will be the first to be assigned because all of them have been a part of LGC GIRLS SUMMER or LGC SPRING BOYS. for reference here are the teams that they will be assigned to:

for all of them, they will actually be asked to pull spoons from a container given by RAEWON and once everyone picks their spoon, they will show it to the camera and see what group they have been placed in.

afterwards RAEWON will notice that the group numbers are still imbalanced so the remaining MODELS and ACTORS will be playing a game of rock, paper, scissors and whoever loses will then be asked to pick a spoon from the container. in between all of this, RAEWON will ask some of the losers if there is a team that they would like to be in to see if luck will be in their favor. the lucky ( or unlucky ) lgc agency people who have been sent to the other teams are:

afterwards, RAEWON will announce the leaders for each of the teams. TYPE ZERO will be YOO DAEHO, V&A will be AHN JAESUN, CRYSTALLIS will be YAMASHITA ICHIKA, FABULA will be OH EUNHYE, and LGC AGENCY will be SHIN JIEUN. the leadership role for the teams will be important to the activities and games later on.

INTRODUCE YOURSELF ( ACTIVITY )

for this game, every group will be asked to think of a group introduction for themselves. the introduction must have some sort of catchy phrase/motto that they can say because it will be what they can say in the future games. once that is done, RAEWON will ask every single idol, actor, and model to give a short introduction of themselves to everyone else. for this introduction, they must state their name, how long they have been in legacy ( aka training period ), and three random facts about themselves. the ones with the catchiest introductions will most likely be featured in the show.

LUNCH TIME

as a way for everyone to get to know each other and energize themselves for the first game that they will be playing later, the legacy staff will be giving all of them homemade lunches made by NOVA, LGC GIRLS JAPAN, and the rest of LGC SPRING BOYS! during this time, the cameras will be filming all of them, but they will encourage the groups to interact.

SHOW YOUR FACE ( GAME )

after everyone is done eating and enjoying their lunches, they will be given colored shirts to wear and support their respective teams ( for the idol groups, it will be their group’s colors while for lgc agency it will be a navy blue shirt ). everyone will then be led to the auditorium where they will see RAEWON sitting at the center of the auditorium. he’ll explain to everyone the first game, which is called ‘SHOW YOUR FACE’. 

in this game, everyone will be looking for the right camera ( note: there are several cameras and they will be moving around in different directions to trick everyone ) that will be taking a photo of a section of the auditorium. the goal is to be in the photo and fulfill the task assigned in the round. all of the people who fulfill the task and are in the photo will then receive points for their respective teams AND will be done with their round, so they will be asked to move to the side and watch the rest of the game until it is done. pushing, shoving, or any form of physical fighting is highly discouraged and will result in getting the team(s) eliminated. HOWEVER, they are allowed to cover another person’s face using their hands.

the game will end after THREE ROUNDS so whoever stays by the end of that will be given a punishment. if you want a visualization of this game, you can look over here to get a general idea ( the game is from 0:00-0:58 ).

TRUST ME ( GAME )

teams will be split into 2 groups of 5-6 members and the OLDEST member of each team will be the one scooping a certain amount of flour onto their plate that will then be passed down to the next member until it reaches the last member, who will then pour the flour onto a giant bucket. all of the members after the OLDEST member will be blindfolded, so it’s up to them to guess where the other person’s flour plate is located and be able to properly pour it to the other person’s plate. whoever has the most flour by the end of the two rounds will be deemed the winner!

DINNER & END OF THE NIGHT

while the the majority of the muses are having dinner, BAE RAEWON will call each of the team leaders separately to meet inside one of the empty rooms. he’ll inform the leaders that they will be playing the pirate barrel game, where each person will take turns inserting a toy sword inside a barrel. if the pirate inside the barrel pops up, whoever was the last person to put a sword inside will be deemed the loser and take whatever the room arrangements are. this will go on for four rounds, until the winner is finalized.

the rankings are (from first to last): V&A > TYPE ZERO > FABULA > CRYSTALLIS > LGC AGENCY

V&A: will be staying in a five star luxury inn and be receiving the best amenities available.

TYPE ZERO: will be staying in a two story modern apartment building.

FABULA: will be staying in a hanok ( traditional korean house ).

CRYSTALLIS: will be staying in a haunted high school nearby. rumors has it that during december, sounds from past students of the high school can be heard in the hallways.

LGC AGENCY: will be staying in tents arranged by the staff. the tents are located in the middle of the woods, so actors and models, beware!

once everyone is done with dinner, they will be sent to their new homes for the night. because of the budget and staff for this show, there will be multiple managers and staff members residing in each of the locations to supervise the teams ( and make sure they’re not doing anything scandalous or could get them into trouble ) and/or preparing for the next day’s schedule ( which will be revealed after the requirements for this have passed ).

WRITING REQUIREMENTS

for this event, there are two options available for the thread, but they must PICK ONE:

2 THREADS with two different partners about anything related to the above ( ex. preparing to introduce themselves, the games mentioned, lunch time, dinner time, etc ). ONE of the threads must be with someone who belongs in the SAME TEAM as you while the other thread can be with anyone regardless of team. each thread should have 4 REPLIES ( 2 per mun; minimum 8 lines ) in total.

Rapper Yoon Byungho, aka Bully Da Bastard, was sentenced to 10 years in prison for 3 different charges related to drugs.

The charges include use of cannabis and methamphetamine, the use of fentanyl and the use of drugs while still on probation.

TEN YEARS?!?!?! Damn, that's SOOO long! Not getting out until his 30s, his whole 20s is gone. 23 is where you JUST start to get more perspective and understanding on being an adult (well, imo).

It's just a really sad situation cause his experiences in school really set him up for failure. He's such a sweet kid but so troubled and in pain. I really don't know what to say. I just hope he's able to access some mental health and addiction services while he's in there. It's such a sad story.

(context, I looked up the magazine used that webpage for the translation. He was 18 (born in 2000) but Koreans add up +1 🤷🏻‍♀️

Additional context: this was a busy year for Bully, since he went on High School Rapper (2017), High School Rapper 2, released BIMN and just participated in SMTM777

More context: Hoengseong (apparently) is known for their high quality beef, so that question is poking at hypocrisy.)

Anyway, here's my attempt to translate:

“The wait during filming was brutal. Filming the show was so hard that I didn’t want to do it. The shooting was physically exhausting plus I’m dissatisfied with the result.They’re artificially creating my image. I went to showcase my music, but it was edited weirdly.”

MNET is already known for editing music, so why are you making a big deal out of it now?

“At first I wanted recognition by appearing on the show. My thoughts have changed recently. Why did I seek validation from kids who don’t know music. But then again, there this thought that ‘this is popular music. The public has to acknowledge it’ and now I’m in a state of confusion.”

After High School Rapper ended, you released a diss track called ‘Low-Class Rapper’. Do you have anything prepared this time as well?

“I dislike being compared within the restrictive framework of ‘High School Rapper’. There’s a clear difference in skill level, but people who don’t understand music compare them anyway, which is why I released the diss track. These days I’m in a slump. I scrapped an album and now I’m remaking it. I don’t know when it will drop.”

Even though it’s a slump, the public evaluates that you are evolving as a rapper.

“I hardly ever look at the internet. In fact, nothing’s changed. It seems people see what they want to see, so I don’t really like the stories.”

Why are you so strict with yourself? I’m too scared to even ask questions.

“It’s not like that, I’m just living life on my own terms. (laughs)”

Was gaining fame through High School Rapper also an annoying factor?

“I hated it a lot. Of course, and honestly, I also regretted it. I went on with the simple thought, ‘If I become famous and make a lot of money, that’s good, right?’. But actually, I’m someone who doesn’t like receiving attention.”

Is that the sound of grilling American beef in Hoengseong?

“It’s exhausting. I really hate having my personal life interrupted. I’m the kind of person who doesn’t want to be robbed of even 1 second to someone asking for a photo on the street.”

Alright, you’re standing at the entrance to the concert venue. Which concert venue will you go into, with male fans, female fans or no audience?

“Why even perform for no one? You’d have to be insane (laughs). Men, women, I don’t care. I like people who know my songs a lot. But yeah, I lean toward male fans because they vibe with the music. I feel like female fans are there for the Bully brand, and male fans tend to quietly sing alone and leave.”

Why are you so angry when you rap?

“There are many times when I work in an angry state. When I fight back or vent my frustrations, rap is the means I use, so 90% of the time I do it in that state. In order to convey emotions while performing, I have to bring out that fury, so I can’t help but hear things like ‘He’s excited?’ or ‘He’s angry!’.”

Your honesty is good to see. But that honesty has become poison on social media. ‘SNS is a waste of life.’, what do you think of that statement?

“That’s correct. I caused a lot of trouble through Instagram, so I really want to clarify this. When I was really struggling last year, they cut all this content from every interview.”

“Last year, I was having a hard time, so I went to a psychiatrist. If I take sedatives, it’s hard to control my thoughts. The evening meds make me completely black out, and when I wake up, there are posts on my SNS. I’m like ‘Ah, fuck, I’m screwed!’ and then delete them, but then I get hate for it, so I end up taking meds again and the cycle repeats. The thing is, I don’t even remember what happened, so it feels unfair. That’s why I don’t use SNS these days. I don’t even write down my thoughts anymore. I was really shocked. I posted a lot of weird stuff.”

No wonder… you even dominated the real-time search charts.

“There will be people who won't believe me. Some might say I’m just talking nonsense out of embarrassment. Everyone close to me knows the truth. Last year, I was in a bad state mentally, and the hate from people who didn’t know the full story made it even harder. I really hope this interview gets published this time. It was so unfair.”

“I was going to shut it down, but they said I could cash in by selling it. So I sold it. (laughs) Better to make productive money than to let it rot, right? People kept saying it got hacked everywhere, but I sold it. For 10 million won.”

By any chance, do you plan on writing sweet love bars for an idol featuring?

“If I’d actually been in love, maybe. But I’m too young to know what love is. Nineteen years old-what the hell do I know? Ain’t that what puberty’s about? Hating everything-even nagging.” (laughs)

When on earth will that puberty end already?

“Who knows? If I make a lot of money, maybe it will disappear.”
