Katniss is such an unreliable narrator. She says "Then something unexpected happens. At least, I don't expect it because I don't think of District 12 as a place that cares about me" girl you deliver strawberries to the Mayor, you hunt and trade for the district, when you fell at Prim being chosen someone caught you, when you went to Prim people parted for you, when you volunteered EVERYONE stopped. Idk how to tell you but I think you're a pillar of the community.
#katniss everdeen#the hunger games trilogy#the hunger games#primrose everdeen#hunger games#batcavescolony reads the hunger games#suzanne collins#'now it seems i have become someone precious' NOW? GIRL BFFR you're their hunter girl#and this isn't negative just bffr girl#your WHOLE DISTRICT did the three finger salute that you yourself says means admiration thanks and goodbye to someone you love and on top is#old a rarely used. your WHOLE DISTRICT decided in that moment that they needed to bring back this sign of respect for YOU#...................................................................#idk why some people are thinking i mean this as negative i don't she is unreliable but its not intentional. like when Peeta heart stoped in#CF she doesn't know what Finnick is doing at first cus she doesn't know off the top of her head what cpr is. she also thinks Peeta after the#reaping is acting for the cameras. he isnt we dind out later his mom basically told him Katniss was gonna win and he would die. obviously#shes not doing it on purpose shes just for lack of better words uneducated? as in she doesn't know everything shes not omnipotent#so when Plutarch (? second games guy) shows her his mokingjay hiden watch shes like *wtf that's weird?* then the people traveling to#district 13 show her the mockingjay cookie and explains it and she then goes on the difference between his watch and their cookie#and why does eveyone act as if district 12 is as bad as the capital? they CANT help Katniss and Prim in the way you want. they cant give#them food. none of them have any! and im not putting iton Katniss but they hid they needed food so they could stay together. it sounds like#some of you are in this our world mentally of what people do after a loved one dies (brings food constantly checks on them etc) district 12#cant do that. they dont have food and they're all suffering. you cant give someone food when you have none to give. then theirs the fact#that peeta DID help. Peeta buring the bread and tossing some to her then taking a beating from his mom is a HUGE thing in the books.#he used his resources to help her like you all said someone should.#district 12 DID (rip) care about Katniss before the hunger games. why do you think she was allowed to hunt? or how her trades were good#these are the little ways 12 can shows Katniss they love her. but again Katniss doesn't see this and YES its because she had ptsd before the#hunger games as well. i swear some of you make it seem like d12 was all living a life of luxury and glaring down at Katniss.#other things that show Katniss is in hight standing with at least her people of d12 is her dad was known enough through d12 for peeta dad to#comment on his singing along with his commenting on her mom. also her mom is a healer in the community. yeah her parents arnt the top but#of d12 but they are/were definitely high staning in the Seam.

why do i feel like vector would be the kinda guy to randomly share traumatizing memories of his own childhood/teenhood mid-conversation and be the only person in the room that doesn’t realize his past was incredibly fucked up
like he legit just thought it was entirely normal to be a runaway at for all we know 13 years old and starting up a whole DETECTIVE AGENCY BUSINESS at 16 until he got reactions ranging from concerned to horrified from everyone he told.
and he’d drop that on any unsuspecting victim with a complete oblivious smile, too
just. no vector, no. you need therapy like everyone else in this franchise. get in line

I am of the full opinion that a Silmarillion adaptation of any kind can:
never adapt the whole book
never be a live action feature film or tv series
needs to forget the aesthetics of the lotr movies (as much as we love them)
in comparison. I do think a successful silm adaptation could be
a 2D - NEEDS TO bE 2D - animated film/series
a play (but like a 4 hr Shakespeare epic) - I do think one could get away with a musical but they would have to get super weird with it. HOWEVER it could also totally be an opera or ballet.
a single chapter/storyline of the book
I think the silmarillion is too weird to be a live action anything because movie production ceos are too concerned with marketability. this is where the forgetting of the lotr film aesthetic needs to come in. Lotr worked because they made those designs from scratch (like elves - from like art noveau and shit) rather than a lot of subsequent adaptations which were like "we need it to look consistent with lotr" so it got stale its so tired. go completely different cultural/historical period inspiration start from scratch we get some really cool stuff here on Tumblr.
single plotline - self explanatory. silm is too long and too broad with too many characters for a single adaptation. focus on making 1 good story rather than trying to tell 530200 shitty ones.
the 2d animation/opera/play thing comes in because THOSE MEDIUMS ARE ABLE TO GET WEIRD. They can stretch the limits of believability!!! they can get the weird singing, character vibes perfectly AND have crazy things happen to characters because they have much higher suspensions of disbelief. like u can have someone turn into a bird in a play using practical effects and rather than some poor overworked cgi artist doing an animorphs level job because they aren't paid enough to do a good one, u can have a puppet or a hectic costume. Also u can have hectic wigs please and thank you I want the most hectic devastating wigs for all of the elves (and dwarves). also opera/ballet costumes are so awesome they would do the elves justice.
anyway u got to the end of my silm adaptation fever dream agree or disagree I dont care.

Been listening to undressed by sombr and-
Time travel, accidental fix-it, one sided unrequited jayroy in the sense that both are deeply in love with each other but that Roy isn't Jason's Roy, and he can't bring himself to actually pursue him but he also can't let go, so he just keeps showing up and helping him where he can.
Roy confused as fuck as to why this random crime lord keeps showing up but also kinda looking forward to the next time it's going to happen. A Roy that still goes through the stuff he went through in canon but now there's someone watching his back and understands, someone that'll be there to catch him when he falls.
A Jason so filled with guilt, because he changed the timeline!! He erased the future he lived in, all to see that kid survive without having to go through the horrors of dying, but that can't help but regret and mourn for the future that kid had, and yet he can't get over the thought that he had to kill his husband and daughter, that he had to kill his siblings and father and grandfather, that all of the once familiar faces now have no recognition in their eyes when looking at him.
And despite all the guilt, despite being content to just watch from afar, he and Roy still end up together, right by each other's side, because in the end that's where they both are meant to be.

I see a lot of sentiment within techum spaces about not understanding how tech actually works and considering tech divine or whatever and like. I really do get it's pretty intimidating, but you can learn how your machines work. In fact I think a lot of you would appreciate your objects even more than you do by learning about how they actually function. Demystify tech in your minds NOW!!!

“ The battle was glorious, my soul burned bright as the sun, and then I died. I died, my death was proven worthy, and yet I am trapped. Trapped and prevented from being reborn. From continuing the cycle of rebirth for which I am destined. My soul should never have been trapped inside my old flesh. I should never have been forced to become both rot and decay. I know not what manner of foul sorcery that cloaked man used on me, but I will find him. I will tear him asunder if I must. Whether or not the seal is broken, he shall not suffer to live. ”
― There have been an increasing number of reports from amateur hunters returning unsuccessfully, claiming an undead mark killing clan targets before its members can get to them as the reason for it.
More experienced hunters however have recently confirmed that this one is no mark at all, but rather a peculiar steppe warrior who is far away from home. The man tells little about himself or what his goals are, but introduces himself as Jargai Dotharl to those who are social enough to dare conversing for longer than a few minutes.
Hunters who come across Jargai have conflicting opinions of him. Some describe him as a formidable warrior who can take down even the most vicious of marks with only his own sword. Others claim that he is all but useless in a fight, dropping his weapon from the slightest bit resistance and collapsing on the ground while writhing from what looks to be incredible pain.
He accepts neither coin nor company for his feats, but rather trades in information exclusively. He reaches out for clues about a strange individual who he cannot describe in any manner of detail, and then gets irate and leaves when people inevitably don't know who he's referring to. He refuses to show anyone his face, covering it underneath a shroud at all times.
Truly not an easy individual to get along with, but most that interact with him will still conclude that he is overall a reliable fellow, all things considered.
Still, most people with sense keep their distance. While the vast majority of them would be unable to pinpoint why, there's no denying the strange air that hangs over him like a dark cloud.
Jargai prefers it that way. The dead and living have no business being friends with each other.

how have I never thought about how Hawks' favorite hero was Endeavor, when he himself acknowledges that his quirk's greatest weakness is fire and Shigaraki's favorite hero was Eraserhead, the one hero who could take his quirk away

I guess I can see how if they (the Sparda boys) weren’t related shipping them would be interesting. I think a better question for me to ask is why incest? You said it was the cherry on top, so why is it appealing to you? Is it a taboo thing or like a dark fantasy type thing?
I’m sorry if I’m being overly nosey. Obviously you don’t have to reply to me again. I just don’t know anyone who likes this type of stuff and I’m curious as of why some people do.
Tumblr media
No worries! I chose to answer this more in depth anyway, because I feel like it's a valuable topic to discuss and it's important to understand where other people come from, especially if they naturally tend to have a different perspective from oneself. Still, thank you for being respectful, I can tell you're just genuinely curious and I personally don't mind explaining! Since I have answered a very similar question before on twitter, I'll direct you to my answer there as a first intro to it, and then expand since this is tumblr and I don't have to fit my answers in many tiny character limited boxes. So: like I said in that sp answer, it simply appeals to me, on an intrinsic, personal level. When there's something morally wrong in a potential fictional couple, if I already liked their dynamic, it just draws me more to it - I do think the simple fact of having a taboo aspect plays into it, though I don't know to what degree necessarily.
Personally, when it comes to dmc and spardacest specifically, I do really, really enjoy playing with the demonic aspect of it - there's something deeply, deeply satisfying to me as a queer neurodivergent person who grew up bullied and ostracized all my life and have been treated like a freak and an animal and an other my entire childhood, to imagine a humanoid-but-not-quite species that can shift form at will, and has completely different moral/societal/biological rules from regular human society, and subsequently imagining a character that's been brought up their whole life to believe they were a human and full of fucked up things wrong with them, only to discover that, hey! Actually they weren't human, they were something else just vaguely human looking all along, and all their flaws are actually features among the species they belong with. In that way, I do think it's wish fulfilment, though very much metaphorical and not 1:1 to reality or anything I personally experienced or related to. It just feels good in the brain to play with that. (similarly, it's why dbh as another fandom I've been very into for a long time also draws me - androids are very good for making similar analogies, even if there isn't anything necessarily inherently "fucked up" there by regular irl standards, unless you count two androids of the same model fucking as akin to incest, or want to claim some kind of unbalanced power dynamic in an android/human couple lol) In that way, the incest is simply an extension of it - it's not appealing to me because it's morally wrong or fucked up, but because I like to assign traits that would be repulsive to an average human to the Spardas as a species, and explaining them as instinctual/natural to them (for example of other nonsexual things, also things like a tendency for extreme violence and heightened aggression, cannibalism, territorialism, etc ), so at the end of the day, the incest is more a way to play with the existing dynamics and explore my own hc's, than something I'm into for its own sake (and actually, if we have to be honest, before I got into dmc I was really not that into fictional incest for its own sake lol! Not for any personal disgust reasons like I said, but it was just completely neutral to me, not something that would attract me to a fictional ship for its own sake, but not something that would repel me either. In that way, I do think I enjoy it far more as pack and parcel of their demonic nature than for its own merit.) I understand that to some people, otherwise liking a fictional couple's dynamic might be extinguished the moment they find out/realize that there's something morally wrong were they to be together (age gap, underage, incest, toxicity/abuse, etc). That's also perfectly fine and a perfectly acceptable way to navigate fiction. I just so happen to not really care that much in the realm of fiction. To me, it's always kind of been a given that it was separate from my irl morality, in the same vein some people love horror and gore and splatter media, and some people don't.
#asks#like i cannot stress enough how much I did not even vaguely start thinking about fucked up fictional this in relation to my irl morality#until the anti/proship online discourse started#like I dunno. like I said I've always been drawn to things like these#and like for a more practical example#I was REALLY into underage/age gap when I was practically a kid myself#nothing happened to me to make me seek it out i just got into kuroshitsuji in middle school and thought#'oh i really like this and sebastian and ciel are a really cool ship i want more of this'#and i had way too much unrestricted internet access#but thats besides the point#either way i just remember that feeling extremely separated from irl ventures#like i distinctly remember when i was that young being VERY sensitive to potential unhealthy/immoral age gap stuff going on around me irl#TW mentions of irl csa but like#i remember being in my first years of highschool and having one of my closest friends#be constantly dating and going out with and sleeping with 20/30yo men#and i was the FIRST one in my friend group to think that was insanely fucked up and that she was in danger and that these men were creeps#taking advantage of her#this doesn't really have a point besides trying to drive home how it's never been something that affected the way i viewed the irl world#and i firmly believe many younger kids today would never think that way either if they weren't being fed propaganda from the puritan side#and had better education re: media literacy#like if you're told your whole life for as long as you're able to read and get on the internet independently#that what you like in fiction is gonna affect what you think about real life morality and what you think is acceptable to do in reality#of course it's gonna warp what you end up believing and become a sort of self fulfilling prophecy#vs if it's just treated as normal that fiction is going to have some wild shit in it#and some things might not be age appropriate and some things might be disturbing and not your cup of tea but ultimately it all exists#in the vacuum that is the fictional world#then people develop a much stronger sense of division between the two much earlier#instead of having to basically cult deprogram yourself on your own once you become aware enough#anyway. enough yapping#sorry for hammering on something I'd basically already answered anon but I love a good food for thought moment!

i think one of the other LM letter’s is fake, the one that was typed out from the individual in nursing school because allegedly LM said in the letter that he would recommend to read a book written by kristin neff entitled, “self-compassion: the proven power of being nice to yourself”. apparently in the letter he recommended it to them because he said it helped him a great deal during his time in school.
the reason i say that is because i was looking at an archive of his ”want to read” from his goodreads, he never read it.
i could be wrong, but i believe LM’s legal team is saying that all those typed out letters are fake. there’s been a lot of discourse on if only the “new orleans” letter is fake, which is is confirmed to be but im starting to think all those typed out letters are fake. either way i’d love to hear what you have to say because im not sure if anyone else has clocked this.
here are the screenshots: credit to the tumblr blog criminalnews for the archive of his social media accounts including his goodreads.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
firstly, nobody in the world can tell how accurate his goodreads is, except him. and since he's where he's now, without a voice, nobody is finding out if he did in fact read the entire hunger games trilogy at age 20 in 2018 (in one sitting at that) or some time in high school and then added it there while at uni. d'you get my point?? he could very well have read the self compassion book at uni and then added it to his goodreads years later. we simply don't know and we'll probably never know. i'm not saying this because of whataboutism, i'm saying this because it's very likely he did not update his goodreads like a lab recording for cancer research, because it's simply not that important. from my personal experience with goodreads, i can at least say this that abandoned goodreads are among the most inaccurate sources of information about a person's reading habits, because a lot of people don't update them when they read the books or update them very unsystematically and just don't care enough about keeping a log.
also, Luigi's legal team is absolutely not saying all of the trulincs letters are forged, if they did in fact want to say that, they'd have said it outright, they're lawyers, they're not authors writing a book and distributing important plot points in the colours of the curtains. they're people who say things brazenly. if all the typed letters were forged, they wouldn't have hesitated to say, "all typed letters are forged", instead they said they're aware that "several forged letters" exist. curious difference in the wording huh?? especially for a client they're defending who has his life on the line and there's allegedly several handwritten evidences that could potentially make it or break it for him. (and there's at least two handwritten letters jokingly pretending to be from him floating somewhere on the internet)
also there shouldn't have been any controversy regarding the forged "letter" at all, that letter was a clearly thought out, very well planned attempt at an almost perfectly executed smear campaign targeted to break apart support for Luigi from amongst the masses. to think of that letter as controversial is outrageous. there's no question about whether that letter is forged and why it would have been forged. we're in fact very much aware of why and there's zero questions about it.
also notice how his legal team said they're aware of "at least one ai handwriting generator and several forged letters claiming to be from Luigi via trulincs". we do know that on the day the forged "letter" wreaked havoc because most people didn't even try to match it with the catalogue despite having access to it (and no, the first name started with a D in that letter, which did not match anything in the catalogue – i noticed because i checked immediately and did not talk about what was potentially a forged letter then but still unconfirmed), there was another person trying to sell a forged letter from Luigi on ebay. his legal team was taking into account everything going on around them while talking about the authenticity of the letters. they were in no way implying that all typed letters were fake/forged. if they needed to do that, they'd have just said so. why let people tarnish his name halfway through, or claim to write stuff (altho nice) pretending to be him, when you can nip the tree in the bud right away??
so no, i don't think we are in company of any forged letters as of now, except the very obvious ones that we already know of and have talked about.
