WE HAVE ANOTHER BIG ANNOUNCEMENT!!

After much thought and consideration, we have chosen that our Charity, where 50% of our proceeds will be donated to, is the PCRF, which we are honored to be supporting.

The PCRF envision a world where all children in the Middle East have access to quality medical care, humanitarian aid, and specialized surgical procedures. Their mission is to provide medical and humanitarian relief collectively and individually to children throughout the Levant, regardless of their nationality or religion.

We think that this falls perfectly in line with how Vash and Wolfwood would spend their tomorrows, loving and helping desperate children in need of home and comfort. We can't have a bright future without happy and safe children.

As we previously said, 50% of the donations will be given to our charity, while the other 50% will be distributed to our hard working artist and writers.

We decided this after seeing the amount of people chosing the 50/50 option in the interest check!

Make sure to read the guidelines first! The mod applications are now officially open! Apply if you're interested in joining the zine and help overseeing it. Seeing as I doubt we'll get many applications, you should get a response in the upcoming days. The apps will be open until December 10th, 2024! If you're looking to just join as a contributor, keep an eye open! More should come in the upcoming weeks!

Children of the Force is a non-profit Star Wars fan zine dedicated to exploring the lives, growth, and inner conflicts of the Padawans within the Jedi Order. Focusing specifically on original Padawan characters created by the Star Wars fan community, this zine delves into the personal struggles, triumphs, and challenges faced by these young Force-sensitives as they navigate the trials of both the Clone Wars and their own paths within the Order.

Will the content be limited to the clone wars era only?/Will the timeline expand to post-clone wars?

The zine will be set from Episode 2 to Episode 3, including the clone wars era. This is mainly to set a bit of a directed focus on a specific timeline as to not make the zine to chaotic. If it does end up to have success, I may consider making a second edition of the zine to cover more eras like the Empire and the Old/High Republic!

Will the writers/artists use their OCs or will the characters be pre-picked?

The characters we’ll be adding to the zine will be characters sent to us via a Google Forms template by the fanbase. There will be guidelines to follow and unfortunately, not all characters will be included since we have limited spaces (more information on that will come out soon). That being said, being an artist/writer will automatically give you the opportunity to have your own character included!

3. When will mod/artist/writer applications open?/Are you still looking for mods/artists/writers?

All in due time! Yes, I am still looking for mods and participants. The guidelines for the mod applications should actually come out within the next post. Reminder: to become a mod/participant, I ask that you use discord. You don’t necessarily need any prior experience seeing as this is my first zine as well but it’d be very useful if you have some grasp on management skills and communication.

4. Do the OCs have to be created especially for the zine or can I use pre-owned characters?

No, you’re free to use already existing characters, all as long as their OCs, padawans and fit into the time period.

Here is my full piece for Swim On 10: Blue Planet! I thought for the biggest issue I should do the smallest shark ever: the dwarf lantern shark.

It's been a lot of fun tackling sharks in new and interesting ways these past 3 years, and all the accolades to Jey Pawlik for running this anthology for the last decade.

We're putting together our 4th volume of Vampires of Color - a charity anthology associated with #BIPOCVampDay. And we wanted to do an interest check first! If you're interested in participating or supporting the project (or both!) please take a moment to fill out this form.

This is FOR CHARITY and NOT A PAID PROJECT - the zines raise funds for the Sickle Cell Disease Association of America during our event in September.
