2: Pick around 5 people you intend to give money to

Rearrange the fates in relation to the win, fortune after it and because of it. Recraft their partial fates and loop them to the justification and event of the central key

3: Reorient your own fate around it

Create a new version of self that happens after the win, a new fate, link them to the central key

4: Rewrite the Records

Rescribe the Records surrounding the event, specifically by obscuring or blurring the individual records so that they can settle into fact after the win. Doing it this way prevents them snapping back to mirroring externally-recorded truth

The altered Records should include fates, power changing hands, the mechanism of how things came to be, etc.

Here, we should have a series of branches surrounding the central key of the date and time of occurrence. Any other things can be added such as community effects and so on, but the more fates tied to it the more their own wills will affect the workings

5: Tighten the threads

The threads between central key and rewoven fates should be high strung literally, the magnetic channels woven so tight in that the key and its peripheries will do what they must to snap together when the spell is introduced into reality

Keep the Records blurred

6: Gather energy that will legitimise the spell

In this case worship, the energy of hymns and prayers. In exchange for a life of peace here, I return to my own throne with the ability to focus on work returned to me. Legitimising energy can include the future energies of those whose fates are altered, especially praise and thanks for the dissemination of power post-win

7: Employ any guardians of the gates to maintain and work with the spell

as stated.

Physical side:

8: Locate the place its unfolding

The literal room it unfolds in should be located, as well as the energetic storerooms that occur around things like this. All significant rooms in the building must be accounted for, all major spirits involved must be traced back, and any external rooms must also be accounted for

9: Dissect, diffuse, destroy

Rooms/people/etc should be peeled away from being influential for this specific date as much as possible. Diffusion of energy and fates as well as energy buildups solely surrounding the date and time chosen should make attaching easier. Destruction is the last thing to fall back on, pruning past wins, past fates, and even consuming attached spirits if necessary

10: Claim territory

Set up temporary territory in the location. Servants or assistants or whatever one may have should set up base, cleansing the area surrounding the time-place of the win. Chronomancy should assert the time-place as belonging to oneself, servants/etc should patrol and keep influences out and from reasserting their own claiming of the win.

11: Assert influence flow in the time-place

This should effectively turn into a shrine/temple for you for this time. Its your rise to power, and additionally one should know how to move masses of people into power assertion

Back to the astral, because I feel like listing it this way:

12: Mass influence

The individual fates of many dont have to be altered through Record rewrites or detailed fateweaving, but should be, where possible, microedited. The people who funded this should have their fates subtly rewoven into specifically supporting you, that they paid for their money to go to you. Not altering their minds, their opinions, their reasons, but instead turning a million tributaries into a river flowing for and to you.

Justifications such as worship may be used, if your name is known to them you can petition their unconsciousness to donate

All factors should either be linked or unlinked, depending on the weights on each thread and the influence specific parts will have on each other. Oh! OH!!! WAIT, is Viktor hiding that he's trans in your Playground comic? Because it certainly vibes that way!!

Ohhhh that's actually an interesting interpretation that I didn't have on my radar! Now that I think about it, it really does come across a bit like that! But I have to disappoint you, that won't be the subject of the comic 😶

One of the reasons for this is that the comic is actually about… well… porn… and even though there's a bit more story in part 3, I wouldn't really be doing justice to the subject by putting it in a porn comic. It's a sensitive subject, and if Viktor were to come out to Jayce, I'd want to treat it accordingly.

If you're wondering why I'm portraying Viktor as trans at all, I really wanted to leave it up to the reader to decide for themselves whether Viktor is cis or trans. Since the story takes place in the astral plane and we will only see Viktor briefly in the real world again, it won't be 'resolved' at the end what his real body looks like. I thought that way I could do justice to any headcanon (including my own).

I hope that Playground has not lost its appeal for you now! Viktor isn't hiding anything bad, it's just his own insecurities and a little (big?) misunderstanding. But I don't want to tell too much now!

In occultism we often encounter phenomena that blur the boundaries between the physical and the metaphysical. One such fascinating concept is the Tulpa, a thought-form that can become and independent person, albeit without a physical body.

History

The concept of Tulpas can be traced back to ancient Tibetan Buddhism. The term 'Tulpa' is derived from the Tibetan word 'sprul-pa', meaning emanation or manifestation. According to Tibetan traditions, Tulpas are consciously created entities, formed through spiritual discipline and intense concentration. The mystics and monks practiced this technique for spiritual enlightenment and to manifest aspects of the Divine.

In the early 20th century, theosophist Alexandra David-Neel brought the idea of Tulpas to the West through her exploration of Tibetan mysticism. She reported creating a Tulpa herself in the form of a jolly monk, which later took on a life of its own and had to be dissolved. Her tales sparked a Western fascination with Tulpas that exists to this day.

The Art of Tulpa Creation

Creating a Tulpa requires an extraordinary amount of focus, discipline, and psychic energy. It involves concentrating intensely on a detailed image of the entity one wishes to create until it becomes self aware and autonomous. For most people it takes monk-like levels of mental effort to generate a self-sustaining Tulpa.

The Nature of Tulpas

In the Western tradition, Tulpas are similar to spirits known as servitors, and even familiars that can be acquired through demons. The difference however is that Tulpas aren't necessarily completely subservient to their creator as they have greater autonomy. This is why creating one is a delicate process that requires careful consideration.

Tulpas, being sentient entities, can exhibit a wide range of behaviors. They can offer companionship, advice, or assistance in self-improvement, much like an unseen friend or adviser. They often possess their own distinct voices, personalities, and perspective.

Tge key factor is the creator's intention: if the creation process is approached with positive intentions and mindfulness, the resulting Tulpa will likely reflect those qualities. If the intentions are negatively oriented, the Tulpa could prove a dangerous companion to deal with.

Tyler Durden from the movie Fight Club comes to mind here. Tyler is essentially a Tulpa, a creation of the movie's protagonist, albeit an unconscious creation. Tyler Durden has a mind of his own, but he doesn't have a physical body. However, his influence creates chaos and mayhem and is the brilliantly creative driving force of the movie.

Having said that, the movie does not limit Tyler's existence to that of a purely mental construct confined within the mind of the protagonist. He lacks the 'paranormal' autonomous aspect a real Tulpa can exhibit, that has beeb evidenced by paranormal researchers, practitioners, and monks who've delved deep into this practice.

Tulpas can also be created and used for sinister purposes and by those engaging in dark or baneful magick, such as seeking revenge against a particular person. The risks to this are the Tulpa staying active longer than initially intended or even having the target shift to its own creator.

It's important to remember that Tulpas, once formed, can evolve and change just like any sentient being, bringing a layer of complexity akin to that of a human.

Modern Tulpamancy

In more recent years, a sort of subculture of 'Tulpamancers' has developed within the occult community, consisting of individuals who create and interact with Tulpas. Tulpamancy, in its modern form, often blends traditional Tibetan concepts with contemporary psychological theories. Some even approach Tulpas from a purely psychological perspective, viewing them as manifestations of the subconscious rather than metaphysical entities.

There are various ideas akin to Tulpa creation present within chaos magick. Chaos magicians are very keen on creating new spiritual entities through the use of their own mind, rather than relying on authoritative texts to summon those that already exist.

How to Create a Tulpa

Harnessing the magickal power to create a Tulpa requires a steadfast commitment and a deep understanding of oneself. It involves fine-tuning your mind, cultivating your spiritual energy and journeying within to interact with the unseen aspects of reality.

Attempting to create a Tulpa would be an enriching experience for any aspiring practitioner. The steps for creating your own Tulpa to act as a friend, advisor, guide, ally, lover, or even perhaps, partner in crime, are as follows:

• Prepare your mind- Before embarking on this journey you must prepare yourself mentally and spiritually. This involves regular meditation to calm the mind and enhance concentration. Explore your intentions behind creating this Tulpa. Cultivate an environment that supports concentration and introspection such as a quiet room or a spot in nature. The presence of specific crystals, incense, or spiritual talismans can enhance this process.

• Visualize your Tulpa- The next step is to visualize your Tulpa. What do they look like, how do they sound, move, or react? I joke that I could rebuild myself post-death through piecing together thousands of microscopic crumbs of repetitions of my names sewn into many people, but really... The idea remains

The question remains too, or really it doesn't but I sustain it regardless: that influence, does it translate to money? Can it? What reworking is needed to get it to...

I think the reason some Galemancers think the astral scene is the “lesser choice” is because you get 5 extra approval points if you choose the bed scene. Both are good! But that’s what I would think. Also, I believe the astral scene pushes him towards the crown more vs the bed.

however, i think there's some confusion and (unintentionally, i'm sure) false information here that i'd like very, very much to clear up:

a) approval points

both choices have the exact same approval points attached to them: five in both cases.

astral sea scene:

Player: I'll remind you we're newly acquainted, not newlyweds. Gale: Then we'll start writing the prequel. Gale: What do you say? Player: I think that sounds delightful - but I don't see a bed. ['Gale 5']

old ways scene:

Player: I don't need illusions. I want the Gale standing right in front of me. Gale: Are you sure...? I could conjure up any sight that you could dream of, and a few you could not. I could use the Weave to make us feel sensations beyond reckoning. I could do more than woo you. I could wow you. Player: You don't need to impress me, Gale. I'm no goddess., FEMALE ['Gale 5'] Player: You don't need to impress me, Gale. I'm no god., MALE ['Gale 5'] Player: You don't need to impress me, Gale. I'm no deity. ['Gale 5']

you can net five approval points in the last night alive scene in other ways too:

telling gale you love him:

2. leaning in for a kiss:

3. gale also doesn't mind if you change your mind during the astral sea scene and want to return to the 'real' world:

Player: It's beautiful, but it's you I want to be with. The man, not the illusion. ['Gale 5'] - Player: I want to be with the real Gale - the man, not the fantasy. ['Gale 5']

these are NOT extra points. you will ONLY get these if you didn't choose the "Player: I think that sounds delightful - but I don't see a bed. ['Gale 5']" option in the same dialogue tree i listed above to follow through to the astral sea scene, but instead return to the "old ways" scene (gale snaps his fingers and the illusion of waterdeep disappears).

4. the friendship version of the scene also allows the player to not five approval points if the player chooses to stay with gale under the stars:

Gale: Yes... but there is so much to live for, and so few moments in which to house it all.Approval_AtLeast_30_For_Sp6 Gale: Damn you. Damn you for giving me so much to care about. Our friends, our adventures... this would have been so much easier if it was just me. But it isn't. Gale: If there is a way - any way - to save all that's grown dear to me, I want to seize it. the second part i want to address because that is (again, i'm sure it's completely unintentional so no worries, anon, and/or a misconception/misunderstanding) false information:

b) choosing the astral sea scene pushes gale towards the crown

that is completely factually wrong and i felt it was important to clear that up. there is not a singular flag in the entirety of the scene's files that determines pushing gale away or towards godhood, away or towards the crown.

not one.

which makes sense because at that point in time, neither gale nor the protag even know about the crown. it's only at the end of act 2 that you find out about it, and it triggers gale's act 3 choice to pursue the crown (and godhood) or not to.

the only flags set in gale's act 2 romance scene is if you push him towards sacrificing himself or making him understand that he doesn't have to do that and that you'll find another way with him.

i've detailed that in a meta post about those flags.

if you would like to check the file for youself, you need to open "CAMP_GalesLastNightAlive_SD_ROM", which contains gale's act 2 romance scene.

the only other flags that appear in this scene are the following:

as well as the flags for approval (to determine which scene variation you get -> low approval, friendship, romance) and for karlach, as she has special dialogue in this romance scene with gale, depending on whatever or not she got the second upgrade that allows her to be able to touch.

again, my goal here is just to clear up misinformation about the scene. none of the two versions have a disparity in approval or have a 'negative' consequence attached to them in terms of flags.

what i, personally, find interesting and what i would like to add at the end of this post are the devnotes. we don't have that many in this scene, however, gale makes it clear that if you pick the 'old ways' scene - which is, in and of itself, a perfectly valid choice to make btw depending on how you rp your character, and i have two characters myself who have different ways of doing this scene - the devnote makes it very clear that gale is bowing to the player's preference.

it's not his wish. it's the player's wish.

and it's a wish that he respects to the utmost:

Player: It's beautiful, but its you I want to be with. The man, not the illusion. Gale: The old ways then. If that is what you wish, so be it. devnote: Tactful, bowing to the player's desires Gale: A small gesture towards your comfort.

all in all, i think personal preference is something else entirely, but i do think - looking at everything i've laid out here - it's very sad to see one scene painted as the 'lesser' for reasons that are factually wrong.
