"You're sick for supporting a murderer!"
Well actually a good chunk of me doesn't even think he did it but you're not ready for that conversation.

It's important to remember that Luigi Mangione is being framed for murder. The "evidence" they have on him is absolute clown shoes absurd.
They're trying to win this by swaying public opinion. That's why they're doing movie deals about it and staging ridiculous photo ops.
They're gonna try to give this kid the death penalty to cover up for their own gross incompetence and in the hopes that they scare the working class out of trying to fight back.
Please don't help them do this by using his name as a synonym for political assassinations. Please do not perpetuate the idea that he's guilty.

Upholding Luigi Mangione as a class hero isn't actually helping anything; not because killing the ceo was wrong (it wasn't) but because the man still maintains his innocence. You're doing no better than the cops and fraction of the public against the shooter's actions by treating Mangione as if he's unequivocally guilty.
Redirect your energy to fighting the police's bullshit prosecution and blatant public defamation of his image. Stop supporting him on the grounds of heroic actions. Support him on the grounds of there's still literally no proof he actually fucking did anything.

I think the biggest reason no Gen Z gave a fuck when Brian Thompson was put down in the street like a dog is obviously yes that he kinda had it coming being partially responsible for the continued state of healthcare in America, but also I think a huge part of the apathy is because we spent our entire upbringing having shooting drills at school every other week to the point we are entirely desensitized to gun violence in general.
"waahhh he had a wife and family" so did most of the people his company killed, idgaf, send them a bill to reimburse taxpayers for the manhunt and move on

Things we already know about the UHC shooter, mostly from his social media:
- He has a bachelor’s and Master’s in computer science from an Ivy League school.
- He has read several books on chronic back pain.
- His profile banner includes a photo of an x-ray for back surgery. (Spinal fusion I believe.)
- Based on messages from his family, he dropped off the map a few months ago and they’ve been worried about him.
- His political beliefs are a bit all over the map; without doing a deep-dive my take is a pretty average centrist tech bro who’s read too much evopsych.
I’m a bit worried that, as the left is so fond of doing, people will turn on him immediately for that last part. Let’s not do that! Can we agree not to do that? Because here’s the important thing:
He’s a victim of the system, just like we all are. The system pushed him past his limits, and he lashed out at it. The details of his political leanings don’t actually matter - what matters is that you don’t have to be a radical leftist to lash out at a health insurance company. That’s shows how bad things are broken, that a guy who seems fairly privileged in most respects, with no strong political motive, could be beaten down and broken to the point of doing this. He has two Ivy League computer science degrees and yet had nothing left to lose.
This is a class war that doesn’t differentiate between the working class, middle class, even upper middle class. We’re all dog food for the 1% to chew up and spit out. Even if he turned out to be hardcore right wing, in this one single issue we’re united with him.
Everyone’s been talking about how this guy has seen insane levels of support across the political spectrum - which means nobody should be shocked that he could have come from any spot on that spectrum. I’m hoping the fact that he doesn’t seem super far left or right politically will make it easier to keep that unity, but the left just looooves our purity tests. Let’s maybe not this time.

There’s something weirdly almost heartwarming about how 99% of us have come together across platforms, across the political spectrum, united in saying fuck the UHC CEO and his brethren. Maybe class solidarity IS possible 🥲

DO NOT FORGET LUIGI!
Guys this isn't just a trend. While yes, he is hot. He stands for something more than that. He stands for someone who stood up for the working class and who gunned down an evil man. A man who profited off of millions of peoples misery and deaths.
KEEP TALKING ABOUT HIM! KEEP READING THE NEWS ABOUT HIM! KEEP SUPPORTING HIM! Never stop! This is important! We can't just forget what he has sacrificed for America...His freedom so we can have ours.
Or at least have a chance to fight back and gain our freedom from these insurance companies.

The fact that the McDonalds employee responsible for Luigi Mangione's arrest isn't even going to get 60k because the feds are keeping her trapped in committee is so fucking... It's just fucking nasty.
Pigs really just love to weaponize the working class against itself and then do a little jig as they pull the rug out from under people.
60k is real "change my life forever" money, and I get why someone would be tempted by it, but when the copycats start and more people die, remember this:
You don't actually get that money.
It's a scam from the pigs to get you to turn on your fellows-in-arms.

In the US, defendants are presumed innocent until they are proven, beyond a reasonable doubt, to be guilty. If a juror isn't completely, 100% convinced that the defendant committed the alleged crime, the juror is supposed to vote "not guilty."
I'm hesitant to post this one because I generally avoid topics speculating on individuals' lives and touchy current events, but it is a good reminder of how the US criminal justice system works. Please be polite in the comments/reblogs.

I do think we should all emotionally prepare ourselves for the possibility that Luigi is guilty just because we don't know what all is going to presented at his trial.
That being said I think if this case was a slam dunk for the prosecution they wouldn't be pulling all these stunts like delaying sending over evidence, the documentaries, the perp walk, planting evidence (because yes I think evidence was planted) so I think there is a good chance he's innocent.
But we should still prepare ourselves just in case, don't believe it until we see it but know that there is a possibility they caught the right guy.
And even if he is guilty still know that the way he's been treated this whole time has been horrendous, that he's had his right to a fair trial violated, that he most likely has his 4th amendment right violated when he was arrested etc. etc.

I still have my doubts that Luigi is really The Claims Adjuster, because I simply do not believe the cops at their word, but even if he is really the guy and he is a right-winger, then that means he chose to take all the hatred in his heart and point it against our oppressors instead of lashing out against the marginalized. That's a good thing.
Let's judge him based on what he chose to act on, and may all right wingers follow his example.
