I assume Nancy teaser scene, when she's washing her hands out of blood, has parallels with the Halloween party scene in s2e2. Nancy and Steve are arguing. She spills a glass of red drink on herself, then goes to the bathroom table and tries to wash herself off, all the while being accompanied by Steve.

And that's where their fight takes place. I'll attach some photos. It's scary to realize that my theory might make sense. In that case, Steve's death might take place. (Or Jonathan's, because he's shown before this scene, but that's highly unlikely.)

I've been thinking about this all day and I realized. In scene from s2, Nancy starts blaming Steve for pretending that Barb's death didn't change anything, that everything was fine. And now I'm sure that Nancy from s5 is washing away Barb's blood, most likely while she's having vecna'd or something.

I think the main argument for the byler endgame is this scene. "We are friends!!!! WE ARE FRIENDS!!!"... You think Will doesn't know that? Who, Mike, did you just say that to: to Will or to yourself? There is no other explanation for this stupid line than the fact that Mike imagines he can date his friend, he is the one who doubts their friendship has remained at the same stage or it can flow into a relationship (which Mike is probably very afraid of and convinces himself by telling Will "WE ARE FRIENDS!" or "It's not my fault you don't like girls!").
