In Northern Mongolia, a sacred alliance exists between people, ancestor spirits and reindeer. We are invited in a family of Dukha reindeer nomads during their migration through the forests of Mongolia's Hovsgol province. The oldest Dukha, is a divine seer, a 96-year old shaman, called Tsuyan. She is the link between the healing songs of the forest ancestors, her people and their reindeer. To live in harmony with them, people had to learn to respect nature and animals and to pass down their beliefs, from generation to generation, by invoking the song-lines of their deceased ancestors.

Trudell (2005 Documentary)

Trudell is a 2005 documentary film about American Indian activist and poet John Trudell. The film traces Trudell's life from his childhood in Omaha, Nebraska, through his role as a leader of the American Indian Movement. It also covers his rebirth as a musician and spoken word poet after his wife died in a house fire suspected as arson.

{John Trudell was a major player in the Native American civil rights movement throughout the 1970s. In '79 he lost his wife, mother-in-law and three children to a fire in their home on a reservation in Nevada, a fire which occurred just 12 hours after Trudell set an American flag on fire on the steps of the FBI building in Washington D.C. Following the tragedy, Trudell turned his activism into poetry and music. Said best in his own words: "My goal is very simple. To communicate the human experience at a level that human beings can recognize and relate to. That may be a personal statement. It may be a political statement. But whatever it is, it all comes from the same point of reference: the experiences we share as peoples of this planet."} This is the full version of the documentary, but the website contains some annoying ads, just so you know (adblock). Acosia started on her healing journey when she picked up Jingle Dancing. She is a 10x World Champion Jingle Dancer. Acosia dances with @indigenousenterprise - a well-acclaimed Native-owned dance troupe that performed at the Super Bowl. When she discovered yoga, that practice brought further healing into her life. She is a yoga instructor @7genwellness_ spreading the message that “movement is medicine.” Acosia's story is a testimony of the healing power yoga can provide and how it can transform our lives. Her courage and resilience inspire us; we hope her story will inspire you too. To us, the message and purpose of a video are equally important as the visuals. Acosia Red Elk and the birth of Powwow Yoga

"An enrolled member of the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation, based near Pendleton in Eastern Oregon, Acosia Red Elk fell into a fire when she was 6 years old, and spent three months in a hospital burn unit. That tragedy – as well as her experiences as a mixed race person and the death of her father – began a trajectory of trauma and anger until powwow jingle dancing helped her channel it into a lifelong healing process."
