And Markus, smothering that flare of pain, swallowed a swear as his captive wrenched forward. The glow of their LED tinged his eyes a sweltering amber, and surely, it was ironic: Connor’s blood was boiling, too.

Or at least, rk200 – a machine, a sleek vessel of code wrought and corrupted – had thought it to be so. For grappling him backward by the crook of his neck, Markus felt a thrumming, a heart in that chest…

Now, could Connor feel his, too?

Had he only known the harvesters that would gut him! Should he lose this fight, wound he route out Jericho?

Quarter clattering to the snow, Markus, processors whirring maddeningly, lunged forward in haste. His foot swiped at the android’s ankles, and at any hesitation – any faltering – the oldest of the pair drove them bodily downward. His chest laid atop the breadth of Connor’s back, rigid as his arm dug threateningly at the nape.

“Stay down,” Markus managed in a huff. You shouldn’t have come here. "I can’t let you go.”

     connor was down in the snow, faster than he would have liked. knees sunk into the snow with a crunch, the weight of the older rk model quick to follow him down. with his led now spinning a pretty shade of yellow, the deviant hunter was quick to make an attempt to roll onto his back, hoping to throw markus’ weight aside. 

     he was well aware of the increasing pressure being applied to his neck and was currently simulating all outcomes in order to remove it as quickly as possible. ❛ you’re interrupting my mission, ❜ he proceeded to state flatly, not before taking a swift jab at the other android with his elbow. face being in the snow it was difficult for him to get an accurate shot, but with another upward drive upward connor was dedicated to land a hit on his target.

Subdue rk800! Bounding the rooftops, mid-winter’s biting gales searing on his flesh, Markus glided past the city’s sprawling landscape. Should Connor wander onward, that watchman won’t unsee him. His mission begged he stopped him. Blue thirium rushed his veins. And with processors frantically sputtering, Markus, Jericho’s own pillar of hope undying, descended with an ominous crunch to the alley. But before the droid could turn, ask him why he’d come near gunshots, the oldest of the pair grappled for him and pulled.  “Anyone ever tell you you’re too good at your job?” he asked, words dusting the shell of that ear.

     metal alloy in hand, flicked from his fingertips, connor allowed it to fall flat in his palm, synthetic fingers curling around the cold coin. it, like himself, had grown cold due to the snow –– he would have to watch in case his joints where to freeze up.

     snowflakes glided past the entrace of the alleyway, giving him a moment to gather his thoughts – perhaps send a report to cyberlife? – and he contemplates closing his eyes, led flashing a warning yellow as there was a crunch behind him, followed by a pair of arms snaking their way around his neck, pulling back hard.

     definitely an android. and, by the sound of his voice, a rather high profile one.

     instead of replying, connor struggled against markus’ grip, driving his elbow back into his stomach in an attempt to free himself, before he kicked at his ankles, letting out a string of choked grunts.
