Fiiiiiinally received my thyroid replacement med and took my first pill today. I have to titrate up from the lowest dose, so it'll probably be a few months before I notice a difference. At least the ball is rolling now.

I'm 2 weeks in to the scurvy treatment and already feeling a lot better on that front. It takes about 3 months to fully recover apparently.

Also started vitamins K, A, and B12. I'm hoping all my blood levels will normalize within the next few months and I'll start feeling a lot better. Because laying around like a half-dead animal all day gets old fast, let me tell you. :/

Burned the three big piles of branches in the front yard today. Then my cousin came over and cut up more of the logs.

I'm not happy with how slow things are getting done, but at least they're getting done. I'm really grateful for any help I can get with this mess because I am definitely not in any condition to tackle this myself.

This is very similar to the state of the yard when I moved in a couple years ago. Huge fallen trees, massive branch piles, log rounds everywhere...I can't clean up that shit all by myself again, it damn near killed me. As soon as I have extra money in my pocket, I'm going to hire some more help with this.

The forget-me-nots I planted went nuts. Also added more sticks to the firewood pile.

(Yes I know it's stupid to stack firewood against a house, and if it were up to me it wouldn't be there. That's where my mom wants it. Her stupid house, her stupid rules.)

Still getting the fallen megatrees cleaned up. It's been an extra challenge with my health in the dumpster, but doing a tiny bit every day starts to add up. This doesn't look like much, but it's several days worth of work.

My uncle wants the wood, but I'm not going to let it sit in the yard while I wait for him to take it. So I'm loading it all to the edge of the driveway, which will make it easier on him to load into his truck anyway. If he doesn't pick it all up by autumn, I'm going to list it for free online. I just want it out of here.

I got more test results:

Enlarged thyroid. 2 small tumors on the right side, one of low suspicion and one of indeterminate suspicion. They will probably grow larger and more numerous with time until I'm forced to get my whole thyroid yanked, because that's typical in my family.

Vitamin B12 is borderline low.

Folate levels off the charts high.

Iron levels actually normal somehow.

Honestly i expected a lot worse...my thyroid meds should arrive later this week. They cost $100/mo and of course insurance won't cover it because it's the special hypoallergenic version without all the shitty fillers. :) God bless the American healthcare system o7

I literally have scurvy. In a first world country, in the year of our lord 2024.

This is the consequence of severe gut problems which doesn't allow me to eat a normal diet. Food harms me. Vitamins harm me. My body acts like everything I put into it is rat poison. I'm so tired of this shit.

Got all the branches piled up. My uncle and his family had to help me because there was no way I could do it myself, my health is too poor right now. They're going to return to cut up the big logs and take most of it away to use as firewood. If there's any left over I'm just going to give it away to whoever wants it.

This is what it looks like behind the barn currently. The grass and clover I planted is just starting to sprout. I think it'll be a few weeks before it's noticeable because it's been so cold.

Little grape hyacinths are blooming in that weird little tree garden! It's a mess right now, but I won't bother cleaning it up until mother's day when the frost has passed. I'm curious to see if the strawberry plants come back.

Haven't accomplished anything all week due to rain + health problems. We'll see what this area looks like in a few months.

Well...at least I got one good test result today. My vitamin D level is actually normal for the first time in over a decade! It usually hovers between 6 and 20, so this is a huge improvement.

I couldn't tolerate the vitamins, so I started eating lots of salmon to correct this. It took a couple years and my digestive issues didn't make it easy, but it actually worked! I'm actually on the higher end of normal now! Never thought I'd see the day.

Here's the list of conditions doctors have gaslit me about over the years. By that i mean, i complain of matching symptoms and ask them to test me for these, but they blow me off, tell me it's just anxiety, and refuse to test me until i eventually end up in the ER:

Tonsilitis. First doc said it was "anxiety", second said "just a cold", then finally got diagnosed weeks later when my airway closed up and oxygen dropped. This one still floors me. I had it for 3 months. Simple steroid injection fixed it in 3 hours.

POTS. "Anxiety".

A body temp of 95. "Your thermometer is broken". I used 3 different thermometers, all read 95 and i was shaking so violently i couldn't stand. My temp would drop like this randomly, but every time i went in they'd catch it at 96 and tell me "some people just run low, if it was 95 you'd be dead"...finally caught it at the ER, and even then they refused to believe me when i said it was accurate, blamed broken equipment, and brought out another thermometer to confirm. 🙄

UTI. "Anxiety" and "dehydration ". Or they'd say "you just had a test 2 weeks ago, you don't need another one". Went out of network, got tested by a new doc, and sure enough...

C.difficile infection. "Anxiety", "IBS", "bad diet". I suffered for weeks, dropped to 90lbs, went to urgent care 3 times telling them it was probably cdiff, only for them to keep blowing me off. Finally screamed at the bitch doc that i won't exit the building until she tests me for cdiff. She was like "i keep telling you you're too young to have that, but fine, if you're going to throw a tantrum about it 🙄"...same doc calls me 2 hours later, "you have cdiff, go pick up your prescription lol". Never apologized, never took responsibility for my suffering.

Hypothyroidism. "Anxiety", "depression", "you just need to exercise more", "you look fine".

Gut dysbiosis. "Anxiety", "IBS".

GERD. "Anxiety".

Colitis. "Anxiety", "IBS".

Cluster headaches. "Anxiety", "stress".

Aerobic vaginitis. "Anxiety", "hygiene issue". They kept testing me for STDs and pregnancy despite me repeatedly telling them it was a bacterial infection and only a microscopy will pick it up. They kept saying "nope, no infection, you're just thinking too hard about it"...2 YEARS later, finally got a doc to give me the proper test and by then the infection was severe. Previous docs kept gaslighting me, telling me "that test doesn't exist, if it's not an STD then infection isn't possible "...fucking idiots. An actual OBGYN included, she was useless. It was a random urgent care doc who knew what test i was talking about and he did it, no problem.

For some reason, i had to fight with them for weeks, months, or years to get them to test me for each of these things. Why. Whyyyyyyy is every diagnosis such a battle. Is it my shitty insurance? Is it misogyny? Ageism? Doctor laziness? Local medical system collapse?

I'm so fucking over it dude. Sorry, just needed to rant.
