wheeee another redraw down! as you can see this character's design has changed a lot since 2003. i had a blast with this one. the water effects were really fun to do

2011 -> 2012 -> 2023 this was by far the most difficult redraw to do yet, and it was mainly bc i just.....am not that into sherlock anymore lmao. so the motivation was pretty low. but i felt obligated to myself to redo this one again, since i had done it once to show a year's difference. it felt fitting to show 11 years difference too. i'm so glad my art isn't so grey and dull anymore lmao

idk what even the context of the original art was anymore. it's not canon that's all i know lmfao

still working on my catch-up on my redraw series =A=

i don't have any art for 2002, so i took another drawing from my 2001 sketchbook to make up for it haha.

the original drawing was 100% inspired by this playstation magazine page from their 2001 swimsuit edition (you can tell bc the sandcastles have the same features). it took me FOREVER to find this page. i eventually lucked out and found someone had scanned in the whole magazine. i'm glad to have the original inspiration for this haha. i have no idea why aerith is wearing jeans (that say freak on the leg???) at the beach lmfao

for the 2023 redraw, i wanted to really push my abilities with background and perspective work. would you believe i initially wanted to keep the coloring simple? lmfao

i'm really happy with the end result of this. i'm glad that my skills are finally at a point that i can bring the original inspiration to justice.

second redraw for january! i had a lot of fun rendering this one. i had a little epiphany while working on this we love to see it.

i wanted to make her look a little less human and more creepy. i hope i was able to pull that off!

first art of the year!

i've decided that 2023 will be the year of reminiscing and showing progress, so i'm going to be redrawing a piece of art for each year. since there's only 12 months and i'm planning on doing 24 pieces, there will be at least 2 redraws a month, based on the number the year ends in.

for example, january will have a redraw from 2001 (this piece) and 2011. it'll roughly follow that pattern through the whole year.

i remember being inspired by the victoria's secret fashion show and digimon when i first drew this in 2001
