All day Ace has seemed off, he seemed on edge and didn’t talk as much as he used to, although it was clear he was pressing himself to be who he was usually. Those who tried to ask the male if he was alright, received silence or another topic. Eventually, people dismissed the behavior since Ace refused to speak.

Ace had excused himself in the middle of a conversation with some of his division, whatever was going on, Ace really seemed too eager to be alone. He was going to head for his room, saying he needed a moment for something, but had been stopped by Izo. By then Ace’s eyes had already started to glass over, his hands with fists at his side. Before Izo could say a word, everything slipped from Ace’s lips. He couldn’t keep everything up for much longer and didn’t spare Izo a look at first. He hoped spilling what he was feeling wasn’t going to be a regret and he choose right to let it be Izo.

Ace looked up to Izo as he started to speak. Ace was a mixed between shocked and relieved that Izo didn’t show some face of disgust like he assumed anyone would. When Izo settled a hand on his shoulder, Ace’s tense body eased up a bit, a shaky smile found its way to the ravens' lips. He knew Izo would be telling the truth, that man didn’t hold a single lie in him. Unless this was a pity- Ace immediately threw that thought away, now wasn’t the time to assume that when it was obviously not true. 

The Raven cracked a small shaky laugh, “I think that is enough to prove to me that I am a good person in your eyes, and I’m not just saying that because I don’t want you to kiss me and I be stained with your lipstick all over my face. But, I feel quite honored to be able to drink your tea invited-” Ace quickly coughed “-not that I had even drunk it uninvited!” Ace quickly shut up and stayed quiet on the way to the other’s room.  He could use the privacy and honestly the alone time for that moment. Some tea and a place to sit and relax to collect his thoughts sounded quite nice.

Izo had just wanted to ask Ace if he would like some tea with him and enjoy some of the snacks thatch had made for the 16th division commander. It was an excuse to just hang out with Ace for a change. Izo had not expected for Ace getting a mental break down and it worried him. However, now wasn’t the time to go in full depth analysis of Ace’s self-esteem and confidence.

A soft and gently smile found it’s way on the red lips. “You are one of the best perople I’ve ever met. For a pirate you are well mannered, you care deeply for everyone and you will literally burn anyone who hurts those you care for. In my book that makes you a good person, Ace.” Izo gently placed a hand of comfort on Ace’s shoulder.

“Come and join me for some tea and we can talk. You do know I only invite those worthy of drinking my tea, right? If that’s not enough to tell you that you’re a good person, worthy of my attention and brotherly love, then I will hug and kiss it into you.” The gentle smile never faded from his lips, as he started to lead Ace to his private room. Izo was sure Ace would prefer privacy right now.

No one knows what triggered Ace to break down like he did, but it's you who he spoke too. His body trembled, his words came out shaky and uneasy. He looked impatient for an answer, growing more and more tense every second that passed.

Portgas D. Ace, known as a very notorious and ‘scary’ pirate was found helplessly asleep in his food. People around muttering in hushed whispers and giving worried glances saying the young raven was poisoned and simply dropped dead. People questioned why none of those among the whitebeard crew that was with the male didn’t show any worry over the young man, as if they knew that would happen and left Ace be, leaving Ace alone at the table.  

All sorts of rumors accumulated in so little time, leaving them to be spread to everyone who stood around watching Ace with an uneasy aroma that grew, leaving people tense. However, none of them were close enough to hear the muffled sounds of breathing that would have shown signs he was merely asleep. Since no one wanted to be within 20 feet of the body, they alerted nearby marine staff of the issue and asked it be handled as soon as possible.
