Hello friends! Long time so see. And that’s mainly because there isn’t anything new to update you all on. It’s still unknown what will happen in the future. I know some may be upset with the lack of anything new after no news after such a long time. Honestly, sometimes I replay the game and get a bit sad as well when I hit the end. But, I’m also quite happy to know Saffr is still alive and well, and enjoying other things in their life. Even if we never get anything else I will treasure what we have! 

Also, Saffr did had Alibaba’s chapter 7 route part 1 up on their store front from Etsy, but that was taken down. :( If anybody knows how to get one please let me know! I thought I bought it but seems like I just thought I did. Or even just a video of it I’ll be happy. If not, that’s also alright! 

Until we see each other again and remember to take care of yourselves!

I forgot to mention we did see Alibaba drawn by Saff sometime in 2020. It seems like Alibaba is now also a DND character. Doesn’t mean that Alibaba isn’t also apart of 1001days world! He’s just going on little adventures now. That art can be found here for everybody who would like to see him.  They also draw  ifritah a lot, but that is possibly a no brainer as they seem to be Saff’s most beloved character. As you see them a lot in different games and such.

I’m not dead! But… 

Sadly, there isn’t much to anything at all to update on. Last thing I’ve heard about the game/story was around November 11, 2020. When Saff (Asif) uploaded some background art from the game on their twitter. They said under the pot in reply to someone that they still need to upload/work on part 2 of  Alibaba’s route, and that they needed to make sure that they have the story written out and they weren’t imaging writing it out. 

I’m unsure when part 2 will come out, or if it will ever.  Saying all of this, we should all remember that Covid is still very much a thing, and that Saff is in school. Plus the health issues Saff has shared with us. Remember to please be kind to them. 

I’m sure many of you are sad that there isn’t any real update on the characters we fell in love with, I know myself I’m sad over it. If there never is another update we still have our memories we created, the story we were able to have so far. I know I will cherish these memories, and I hope you all can too. 

I shall come back when or if I have anything to update you all on. Until then, I hope you all are doing okay and staying safe! Until we meet again friends.

Whatevers goin on with Asif i hope they're doing ok or at least better than they were. Experiencing a burnout with something you were working hard on for so long is never fun.

Yeah, I hope they’re doing okay too. They seem to be getting better/happier now over on twitter and posting art again. Still unsure if or when they will return to 1001days though.

Please don’t be making assumptions as to what happened to Asif, some of us know what happened and it’s not ideal to see stuff about everything

Thank you for saving the name for Asif that's so sweet and kind of you. For Asif to delete so suddenly something traumatic must've been going on in their life that everything just became to much for them. I hope they're taking their time off to heal and grow. When they feel safe again to come back i'm happy that they will see empathetic people like you valuing their work so much that you do something like this. All the positive and happy energy to you my friend❣❣❣

I hope they’re taking the time off to relax and heal, too. Their mental health is important. 

Edit: Also, we don’t truly know what happened to Asif so I think we shouldn’t be making assumptions. 

I played the game when it first came out, and I love the characters and the story that we got to see so far. I do hope when they do feel better and come back that they see people care and love not only them but the game they created. I mainly wanted to save the url not only for whenever Asif came back and wanted to keep the name 1001days. But also cause I didn’t want the name to fall into the wrong hands I guess.

You will flourish again.

What happened to 1001days, and why does some rando have it?

Well, long story I guess. 

From what I gathered it all started on the 25th of May, 2020. Asif randomly deleted/deactivated everything. The 1001daysgame blog, the itch.io page, Patreon, and their person tumblr and twitter account. Nobody knows why it happened as they said nothing before everything was just gone. 

Sometime around the 25th-26th of May Asif reactivated the itch.io page, the Patreon, and their twitter account. But not the tumblr blogs. They said nothing about why they deleted and came back. The same day they posted on their twitter about if anybody had a template for planning a game. And that they didn’t know what to do as their thoughts were all over the place. Which alines with what they said in Chapter 6 devlog. They said the game was going on an indefinite hiatus because their passion for the game diminished greatly. Indefinite hiatus means something pretty much isn’t going to ever come back. Although, it seemed like Asif still wanted to work and maybe finish the game. That is unknown though. 

The same day (The 26th of May) Asif deleted the post about a template on game planning and posted two new tweets. Saying they were going to deactivate the Patreon and their twitter account again the next morning and wanted to tell everybody before doing so. They wanted to do that and not disappear like they wanted to. As we saw when they first deleted/deactivated everything. The tweets can be viewed here from the Wayback Machine. 

That brings us to now. The itch.io page for 1001days is still up, but everything else is still taken down. It’s unsure as of now if Asif will ever come back to the game. It’s possible they might, as the games page is still up. But it seems unlikely at this point in time as they didn’t save this url. If Asif did ever come back and wanted the url for 1001daysgame back, I’ll give it up. Until then I’ll be keeping it.
