kind of crazy how meangirl shtick is on the rise on this site again and nobody is connecting it with the rest of politics also trending crueler, rather everyone just wants the mean girls' approval so they're fully prepared to dismiss statements such as "this behavior is bullying" not because it is untrue but because somebody admitting they are hurt by xyz is embarrasssing

that one post mocking the heterosexuality of women that want to be the sole source of a man's understanding of the world due to the commenter identifying these women as ultrasubmissive is silly since this sort of desire for total control over your partner's very fundamental self - his interpretive abilities - is a pretty obvious sign these women are a much bigger threat to their partners than they are to them. this is also a veeeery atypical desire for a woman (kind of girlboss! i don't support but i'm kind of obsessed!). reality check: most women, over the course of having their reproductive labor exploited, end up so busy with housework and earning for her family that her inquisitive capabilities are entirely subsumed by her husband/her child's father. he dictates what she should think, what news she should read, which philosophies she should find compelling, lest she be cast as the irritating, stupid and naggy woman to be ridiculed with his friends. and dare i say the commenter fails to see this because they hold a very obvious contempt for women' sexuality. i do recognize that my interpretation of the screenshot from the post is somewhat undercut by a tumblr user crawling out of the woodwork to affirm that commenter's read that the women in the screenshot wish to control their partners in such a way because that means these men are "safe"... but i think that person is also misinterpreting those women's intentions (and i do not believe ignorant men are any safer to be around other kinds of men - in fact, better hope this man's ignorance does not extend to the awareness of potential consequences of brutalizing women, which many violent men consider more of a deterrent than sympathy for women)
