Every New Year people have different resolutions and plans on how to takle the new year. In most of the resolutions is the lifestyle change. Many will want to change their bad habits and bad lifestyles. As a fitness enthusiast it got to me when I pass-bye a crowd in the corner of my street, they oftenly give me warm compliments about how I look. So 2018 I set and looked at how fat and lazy people in my neighbourhood are. So I came with 20-a Team Fitness Crew. Why 20-A-Team? 20 is the number of the crew members and A and Team it's us we are the fitness A-Team. My name is Lwando Njamela.

The Start Of Great Things For The 20-A-Team.
Cape Town weather nearly derailed our first day of training, but we soldier on in windy conditions.
Tumblr media
First of all I have to give thanks to the people who came on our first training sessions this past Saturday. It always gives me great pleasure to know that I have the support of the people when I start something. Even though it wasn't the kind of crowd I desired to be, but it was effective enough to see that I have serious people to train on the day.
Building to the day, I have been encouraging people to come and join us for training, on two of the social media platforms I’m active in. The first was the Whatsapp group I opened for the recruitees I wanted to train. However I knew that not all will come because I saw the lack of activity and enthusiasm shown by them on the group, I knew maybe one or two will come. Then I sought for help  on Facebook to invite more people to join us on the morning.
Tumblr media
Maybe the weather was the factor on the morning to see a very small number of people. Anyway the people who came was my mom, cousin, and three of our next-door neighbours and all were females. We gathered at Mandela Park multi-purpose stadium in Khayelitsha at 6:30am.
Tumblr media
Since it’s been a long time for many: they had a jog I wanted to strengthen the leg muscle first then take them to a easy-jog. Most of our exercises consisted of calves, glutes, thighs and core muscles.

Reaping The Fruits Of Fitness
How happy I was, to be featured on one of the top running magazine ( Runner’s World Magazine).
Tumblr media
As I said on 4 reasons I started gym that I always want to be a model. Well that opportunity came on the 5th of December when our senior designer at Runner's World Magazine Mark Arendse, chose me and my colleague Lisa to model for the Jan-Feb issue for summer gear.
As an intern who recently join the publication in November last year, I felt valuable and important to be selected as a model. My modeling debut was imminent, so I had work hard at the gym in honing my guns and training my legs as well.
The day came on the 14th of December as I was relishing the moment, I came early on that day with the smile on my face. Before the day of the shoot, Mark who was a director/ organiser of the photoshoot briefed me to take it easy and be myself “ it’s just some easy stuff”, he said.  He also said I must bring my  own training shoes just in case they don’t have my size.
Tumblr media
Well I brought my Puma Ignite Netfit (on the picture), which I was given by my Editor in Chief Mike Finch for the Halloween run they had organised last year. Anyway fitness was the main catalyst of us to be selected, as we have an athletic and aesthetic look so we were an a-team. The photoshoot went well and the only thing I was looking forward to, was the shiny and glossy finished product of me on the page of the magazine.

Youth Jailed Since April For Alleged $5 Grocery Theft, Found Dead In Jail Cell
A young man was arrested by Portsmouth, Virginia police over a mere $5 in groceries that he stole because he was hungry.
The arrest came on the same day a Portsmouth cop shot and killed an unarmed African American 18-year-old.
But now, Jamycheal Mitchell, 24, has been found dead in his jail cell, after spending four months behind bars with no conviction and no bail.
Mitchell had no muscle mass left by the time he died. As a registered nurse, she said she believes he was starving himself, apparently to pressure the “justice” system to  stop locking him up indefinitely.
Mitchell was accused of stealing a $1 bottle of Mountain Dew, a Snickers bar and a Zebra Cake. Combined, these amounted to a total of $5 he is accused of stealing from a 7-Eleven.
For that, he has been locked up for months, awaiting trail, and it is not even clear that he committed those crimes. There may have, perhaps, been a dispute about payment. Or perhaps he began consuming the food in the store and his credit or debit card was declined. Both of these scenarios could result in the same charges.
Perhaps still, he was poor, hungry, and stole food from time to time. Are we really in the business of locking people in cages for months over stealing food?
Mitchell’s death has not been covered by national, or even local media in Virginia, aside from a brief mention on the 11 o’clock news. Help us SPREAD THE WORD before the police start shaping the narrative of this young man’s death!

Make 2018 A 20-A-Team
It’s true when they say it takes two to Tango, take it from the fittest South African celebrity couples.
Tumblr media
PHOTO: Taken From Clint Brink Instagram Account
One of the coolest things about relationships, dating or marriage for that matter is that you get to experience things with your partner. It depends to what things you are into as a couple, it may be; Adventure, Surfing, Running, Balling, Movies, or Gym freaks. Just like the couples I have picked for this piece.
Tumblr media
Clint Brink and Steffi van Wyk
This is by far my favorite celebrity couple in South Africa, when it comes to fitness. Former Generation, Scandal and BackStage actor and singer Clint Brink got married to Steffi van Wyk from Namibia. They are the A-team in fitness and at the gym as they post their training sessions on social media and are both competing in fitness contest such as IFBB acronyms for International Federation of Body Building  ...

SECONDLY
Tumblr media
Lehasa Moloi and Cleo Moloi
Gold Diggers and Broken Vows actor Lehasa Moloi dug a really precious gold in Cleo and the couple are living by the vow which say “For sickness and in health”. Both actors are crem dela crem of fitness. Their combination of Lehasa macho-look and Cleo sexy-look is every couples goals to achieve...

THIRDLY
Tumblr media
Khabonina Qhubeka and her bae
Khabonina Qhubeka a.k.a Nina Zamdela, is an actor, singer, music record label owner, choreographer and fitness enthusiast.  She is living the life with her bae as much as I love the couple and the work she does in our television screens. Most of us don’t really know what is the name of her lover. However she is not shy to show-case the things they do as a couple:baecation or gymcation she posts all...

LASTLY
Tumblr media
Gugu Zulu and Letshego Zulu
The Zulu family has been the pivotal pillars of strengths in our communities with the philanthropy work they do. They go literally to highest mountains and risk their lives in the process to make-sure that basic needs are met by vulnerable children. Even though the other half (Gugu) is no longer with us, Letshego still continues in the memory of her husband with an ethos of changing people lives through training.

4 Reasons I Started Gym
-Gym has built my self-esteem
Tumblr media
Growing-up I was really a skinny guy, just picture it. A lanky boy with a flat chest, small arms, and very weird shoulders. I mean my shoulders looked like a hanger or some laundry hanged on the washing line. I wore X-small T-shirts at the  age of 18,19 and 20 but still they looked bigger by the shoulders.
It was then in 2012 when I was 21-years-old, I had an interest in modelling. I did a bit of beauty pageants and I came out-tops in all of them. Then me and my friend we went-out -looking for a gym and fortunately there was one in the area which was affordable. Since that day I lifted that heavy 4-kgs (then) I never looked back till today. The following is the 4 reasons I started gym.
1. I was SKINNY
It was discomforting when my girlfriend (then) wanted to lie on my chest she had to put a pillow first in order to relax comfortably on my chest.
2. I idolised guys like TYRESE GIBSON, USHER, and 50-Cent
Watching music videos of these guys with a girl was irritating. Girls would scream their lungs out when these guys took-off their shirts, so I always wanted to be like these guys and hell yeah girls do scream for me too.
Tumblr media
3. I had a low SELF-ESTEEM
I was really a shy boy, other boys would make me feel worthless by calling me names and I was a most abused boy:Primary and in High school. To make things worse; I was a bit different to others. In my culture we have these scars in our face and it is called in XHOSA (Ukuqatshulwa) and in Zulu is (Ukugcatywa) so I felt in all my elementary schooling like an outcast.
3. Health PART
Apart from wanted to look sexy and to be sexy, I didn’t know the health benefits that comes with training and exercising. Before I was prone to sickness like flu and severe headaches but now have this defense in my body, I hardly get sick nor severe headaches.
4. Modelling creeped into SPACE
Most people when they looked at my body on social media platforms (now) they always say: “Are you a model”? and I always say No because I’m not. BUT years to come photographers and fashion designers started to collaborate with me in their projects thanks to the gym.
