Smart fabrics vs fibre optics
The basic technological elements of smart fabric are conductive or semi conductive threads and yarns, nano electronics applied directly to fibers, yarns, or woven elements, and chemical treatments that provide different features. Smart Fabrics differ from Wearable Electronics in that wearable devices are merely contained and carried by clothing, where Smart Fabrics have the functionality of wearable devices actually integrated into the fabric. This is an important distinction to make, because several commercial products marketed as “Smart Fabric” are actually “regular” fabric that envelopes traditional electric, electronic, and/or electromechanical (EEE) devices.

Comments + Feedback
Don’t confuse the two stories
Comparisons between power generations / Modes of generating power
Leveraging energy of the sun
Strategically place the light to represent Matariki
What’s your invitation to people enter the container? How do they position themselves within?
Light that comes after -- reverse of fabric lighting
Almost its own planetarium
Some form of projection as part of the story
How does the embedded knowledge manifest in the concept?
Narrow more into the stories as influence -- maui extended the sun so they could continue to do labour -- does an exercise become about people working together in the dark then light being provided?

Solar Panel
The fibre optic fabric has the ability to light up due to the solar panels on the container have the ability to harness the energy from the sun and convert it into electricity. This occurs by allowing photons, or particles of light, to knock electrons free from atoms, generating a flow of electricity. This energy can then be stored in a battery to then be used when needed and results in a constant power supply inside the container for the led lights lighting up the optic fibres.
