New Executive Producer Joins “Animaniacs”
It appears that Wellesley Wild, writer and producer for “Family Guy”, will be another new executive producer for the Animaniacs reboot, according to deadline.com on January 22, 2018.
Along with Family Guy, he was the executive producer for the movies “Ted”, “Ted 2″, and “A Million Ways to Die in the West”. He was/is the exec for the TV shows “Dads” and “The Orville”.
This will be his first time entering a cartoon directed at family/children.
I can’t find an official source directly from Hulu, Warner Brothers, Amblin, or himself, stating that he is in fact going to be the newest addition to the execs, so if someone can point me in that direction, it’d be appreciated.

Reboot Opinion Video
You ever think you’re a major fan of a show, and suddenly, someone shows all their collectibles, then shirts, Then storyboards of the show, THEN shows letters they recieved from the creative team, THEN proves they had their own name mentioned on a bumper for the show?
And I thought I was a fan. Damn.
Well, she nails my thoughts on the reboot pretty much down to a t. This is a great watch, for sure, even if there’s no more actual information about the reboot itself.

Sam Register
Since Sam Register is going to be one of the executive producers on the new show, it’s important to look at his résumé. It’s also very insightful to understand his mindset when launching a rebooted cartoon series, which he has done a few times. This is the guy that gave us Teen Titans Go!, Wabbit, and The Tom and Jerry Show.
This is a very interesting video where he explains his thought process/step-by-step process of creating a rebooted show.
youtube
Some highlights to note:
2:00. Sam Register starts presentation.
8:40. A reboot cannot be as good as the original, and there’s no point in trying, because it just won’t work.
9:52. The producer they hire must love the show even more than he does.
13:12. Changing the character design is a must. If the original design is kept, it’ll fail. Changing the design gives more freedom to do different things with the characters without as much comparison to the original.
13:36. (specifically The Looney Tunes Show). Changes the format from the original’s traditional three 7-minute segments, into one 22-minute segment, for the sake of keeping the viewer from changing the channel after a segment was finished. (also admits that the plan wasn’t to turn the Looney Tunes into a sitcom-style show).
17:41. (specifically the ThunderCats reboot). Keeping the original theme song was extremely important. People would “whine” if the song was changed, so he paid for the rights to it.
20:49. (still ThunderCats). Reanimating the logo, frame by frame, to tribute the original show.
28:59. Shows a clip of the end of Daffy’s Rhapsody. This was done using real Mel Blanc recordings that were never animated, using CG animation. The goal was to make it look and feel as close to the original Looney Tunes as possible (while still being in CG).

First Rumor of an Animaniacs Reboot
On May 30, 2017, an article by Michael Schneider on IndieWire, announced the development of a reboot of Animaniacs, between Steven Spielberg, Amblin Entertainment, and Warner Brothers.
That article was taken notice by lots of different news websites. However, there were no cited sources on the original article.
Lots of the original cast expressed they had no idea of any reboot and/or had no straight yes or no answer of its legitimacy. Nate Ruegger commented on the article asking for sources as well. No sources were ever cited.

Tom Ruegger Asks for Opinions
On May 20, 2017, Tom Ruegger states that in June, he’s going to be presenting his work, and asks for help from Facebook users to choose their favorite cartoon segments that he’s worked on, including Animaniacs, Tiny Toon Adventures, Freakazoid, the 7D, etc.
Paul Rugg has also asked for people’s favorite Animaniacs episodes, though I have no source available for that.
