everyone always commenting on how sweet percy is for dropping super romantic comments about annabeth, or their cutest moments together and funniest convos. and don’t get me wrong, i’m just as much a sucker for those as you guys are

but for me, it’s the little things that show how much he loves her that makes me so obsessed with them. like in chalice of the gods, he borrows her hat to complete the quest and afterwards, he puts it back to her size for her. it such a small thing to do - something annabeth likely won’t even notice - but it’s so effortlessly thoughtful. not to mention that despite how rushed he was when he put it on, he paid attention to what size it was for her much smaller head.

annabeth is a strong, determined, intimidating - many even say scary - young woman. and percy knows that better than anyone. but like… he takes care of her. he takes cares of her in both big ways and little ways that no one ever has for her, i just- UGHHHGH

small detail that i loved in the scene where percy summons the tidal wave to take out ares, he doesn’t have to move his arms or hands to do it. like in the books it’s always described as percy feeling a tug in his gut but never him doing some sort of physical action to use his water powers. i LOVED that you just see that wave coming up and you know percy is doing it, but he’s not doing some eleven from stranger things shit to summon it LOL. he just uses his mind to control the water. also love the way the tidal wave just misses him completely, like he’s standing in the middle of it and it just moves around him because duh. water powers. love love love details

Leah needs a writing credit fr because I’m watching an interview and she has Ideas about how Luke and Annabeth’s next conversation should go and they’re all kind of genius:

Emotional conversation where she expresses her disappointment in him and there’s sad music over it (lmao she’s got the whole thing scripted already)

She talks to him while INVISIBLE so that he doesn’t know where she is, like a phantom haunting him (oh that’s so smart I literally started imagining Charlie absolutely bodying a tortured and horrified Luke as Annabeth’s disembodied voice screams and cries about the betrayal and he begs her to reveal herself so that he can explain face to face maaaaannnn)

I don’t think anybody’s made this comparison yet but someone just DM’d me about how riptides are known for sweeping up, grabbing someone, and pulling them underneath the current by surprise, and then there’s Percy holding up riptide to grab Annabeth and pull her down into the stairwell by surprise.
