Infuriating boomer trait is this phenomena when you show them your art and the first reaction, no matter what image they're presented with, is "is that you?"

Parents occasionally ask to see things I've drawn and even if I'm showing a muscle-bound troll man with red skin and horns, first feedback will always be "is that you" (or if I'm lucky, my husband or somebody else I know).

Last time got so frustrated with this I was like "how about you look at how I actually draw myself" and whipped out the various pieces of Ophelia I've drawn. My mother took the tablet and examined each piece very, very carefully like I've never seen before, zooming in and out on parts, then after some time concluded: "Yes, this is definitely you. But from a long time ago. When you were in high school." Considering the character's supposed to be 15~16 in those images... I thought this was a fascinating assessment.
