It’s kind of interesting how the Narrator is slightly less of a jerk in the HD Remix than in the original mod. I mean, they added some new endings where he’s sort of nice or sympathetic to you (the Zending, the Confusion Ending) or where he recognises that he needs your input after all (the Real Person Ending), that’s one thing, in the original mod the way he treats you in any ending where you stray from his path ranges from ‘unpleasant’ to 'supervillain’. But they also changed some of the original endings.

The Phone Ending is still a sucker-punch after you’ve decided to relent and go along with him just for one thing, but in the original mod it happened at the spot where the Zending is now. The Museum/Second Narrator/Death By Industrial Accident Ending changes from a grisly death the Narrator directed Stanley towards for disobeying him (“Stanley decided to punish himself…”) into a point where you just spontaneously wander off the path and the Narrator repeatedly warns you that a) continuing down that hallway will kill you and b) there’s nothing stopping you from turning back.

I did say slightly less of a jerk, though. For contrast, the HD Remix is also the first appearance of the ending where he either mocks you for jumping to your death or goads you into jumping to your death and then mocks you for it.

Actor Jonathan Joss was just murdered for being gay and married to a trans man. On the first day of pride 2025. He was best known for playing John Redcorn on King of the Hill.

I had no idea he was gay but he was married to a man named Tristan Kern de Gonzales (on valentines day 2025!)

They lived in San Antonio Texas where his family is from and he grew up. He was 59.

In Janurary 2025 his home was burned down which made news. It killed some of his beloved dogs. He didnt elaborate beyond he believed it was arson (gofundme is still up and i suggest donating to help his funeral costs and his husband

As they weeped and mourned in shock, a neighbor, Sigfredo Alvarez Ceja, came out and aimed at de Gonzales…but Joss jumped in front of the bullet and was instantly killed.

Ceja, homophobia murdering coward, tried to take off but de Gonzales had called pigs who vaguely tried to do something. He was arrested and his bail set for $200k. Or as my sister said who the fuck sets bail for a murderer?

Which explains the ramp up of hate and why the murderer shot at de Gonzales (Joss pushed him out of the way). So this is also a transphobia related murder
