Kalina remains as the superior bad guy because instead of working at a school and targeting kids to manipulate and use like kalvaxus, daybreak and porter like cowards, she straight up threatened and terrorised the bad kids while being very upright about her intentions.

listen, I am not in favour of dog piling on the rat grinders either (at least for now, there's just not enough known about them & their abilities), but you are vastly misrepresenting the context of those people coming along;

The Bad Kids weren't chaperoned. Ragh was temporarily absorbed into the party and was arguably the one who benefited from it more, as it allowed him to graduate while the information he provided would have been found out either way. The remaining people were hirelings - supposedly chosen to round out the expertise of the group by filling in the gaps, although Sandra-Lynn is pretty much the only one invited for that reason; they had no authority over the kids whatsoever. Cathilda and Tracker, despite proving very useful, were chosen via closeness to a Bad Kid (hell, Tracker wasn't even supposed to come along until Kristen's on-the-spot decision). Gilear, although he did have his moment with the pride armour, was a completely ill-advised sympathy pick that actively worked to their detriment by virtue of constantly dying and requiring revivification. Sandra-Lynn was chosen for her Nature and Survival skills and for the most part filled the role well (albeit with some social hiccups) until the Nightmare Forest where she, Tracker and Ragh were actively though unintentionally working against the Bad Kids and making it more difficult...

Like, yes, it might have been embarrassing if they didn't actively choose who to go with and weren't by all definitions the bosses of the adults.

And before a theory is pitched that Stardiamond might've been a hireling as well - very unlikely, considering that Gilear was temporarily fired from the vice principal position because school faculty was not an available choice for a hireling.

i just saw a post with 2000 notes saying the rat grinders were "losers" bc they had a teacher with them while the bad kids only had one parent and

1. having your mom on a School Sanctioned Adventure is a lot more embarrassing than having a teacher

2. the bad kids had: fig's mom, fabian's pseudomom, fig's dad who is Also The Vice Principal, ragh, and tracker 😭 be serious

listen. listen. throughout my watching of Fantasy High I've been pretty neutral about the couples - sure, I thought some of them to be cute (notably Donospring & Beesbees) but I was not really invested; they stay together? great. they break up? hey, it's high school. But right now, as I'm watching the new episode? I'll go feral if Mazey and Fabian aren't endgame. I need them to stay together

on today's episode of thinking about Riz; goddamn he is so lucky that he was established as a workaholic insomniac since the beginning and thus been able to nap in the forest as a way to face his fears because it's Brennan did say that the only reason the other four didn't have levels of exhaustion was because they were tripping balls - which Riz was not... But also in the same vein, it would have been so easy, and completely reasonable for him to stay, take part in the ritual and get the last bit of comfort from his friends - they just needed to be afraid, not necessarily face every single one of their fears; he could've stayed and it still most likely would've worked. Instead he darted off, denying that comfort, despite the fact that his greatest fear was being left alone, because the chance of getting Kristen back was so important....

currently thinking about how when we met Riz, he only viewed making friends as means to an end (to get clues) and now he literally can't imagine life without the rest of Bad Kids 😭

so I'm watching the Sophomore Year of Fantasy High rn, more specifically episode 8 (The Row and the Ruction), and around 50 minute mark, idk if Brennan forgot to say what he's doing or was it on purpose but when he says that the hit on Gorgug misses and Zac goes "what?" obv we know that it's because no action has been announced, but I can't help but imagine that in universe Gorgug got so distracted by Adaine and Riz being in trouble that he genuinely didn't notice the pirate coming at him...

my conclusions after watching Hazbin Hotel:

Husk and Angel Dust are losers in the "depressed and trying to hide it, but completely self aware" way. Alastor and Vaggie probably fall into this category too.

Sir Pentious is a loser in the "pathetic wet cat and totally unaware" way

Charlie is a cinnamon roll, Niffty is just unhinged.

Lucifer is somehow all of the above

I just saw someone say it's so great not having a problem with loreen and being glad it won with "the exact same vibes as 2012". but that's part of the problem, isn't it. it's basically euphoria 2.0, and being a household name is an unfair advantage. at least when Johnny Logan won twice, Hold Me Now and What's Another Year were different.
