arthur making gilear the vice principal is so funny but all jokes aside, it's the perfect job for gilear. the position was created for kalvaxus so arthur has limited it so much. it has no responsibility, it has no powers, all you have to do is show up and let arthur dunk on you. that's in the job description. gilear's main skills include being dunked on and hanging out with his daughter, the only two things he can do at aguefort. he starts fucking up the moment he gets a task but this job was designed to illicit no tasks of importance whatsoever

Thinking of Fabian, holding his new sibling and feeling a lump in his throat because this is his sibling. And then he looks up at his mom and—has Halliriel ever looked at Fabian witb that much love? That much attention?

(Or was his baby nights spent with Cathilda rocking him and giving him formula while his mother slept and drank? Was his baby nights filled with his dad’s booming laugh and sea shanties? Did his mother ever even look at him like that as a sleeping baby?

Thinking of Fig, staring at the elven baby in Fabian’s arms, thinking Gilear deserves this. Looking at him, and how bright he smiles and how happy he looks and realizing that he finally has a daughter that won’t turn into a demon. He has a daughter he can spoil, and adore.

(And she wonders, did she want a sibling because Gilear deserves it, or was it because she wanted to give her father a daughter that wouldn’t betray him? This baby will never grow horns, and become something that he doesn’t recognize. They will always be a cheery teenage who knows their father loves them.

This baby will be a better child than she was.)

I keep seeing a lot of people talking about how they want Jawbone to kill Bobby Dawn, or how it be satisfying to watch Jawbone, Gorthalax, and/or Gilear just beat him to a pulp. And that’s fine I guess.

But I really want to see Sandra Lynn destroy him. She’s a trained and skilled ranger! Let her turn him into fucking swiss cheese, or have Baxter fucking maul him!

Like, why do we always expect men to get revenge for things that happened to the women they care about instead of the women it actually happened to?

Sandralynn having an Affair with Bobby Dawn when she was like 18 puts in perspective a lot with her. Like her reaction to Fig disguising herself to get her kisses in with adult men, like obviously any parent should rightfully be horrified, but it adds an extra layer.

Also in pointing out that Bobby has a grandson the same age as Fig, it's very likely he already had a kid when he groomed Sandralynn, probably around her age. Just another layer of grossness that makes me hate him even more. The guy was a father and cheated on his wife/partner at the time with a girl fresh out of high school that looked up to him and his adventuring party, despite having a kid close to her age.

Now we don't know the specifics, we dont' know when Sandralynn had an affair with Gorthalax and what age she was when she married Gilear and had Fig, she is an elf which adds to the time fuckiness, but I doubt she waited 18 or so years between kicked out of the adventuring party and having an affair with a devil, getting married, and having a kid.

From my previous polls on who we would be most devastated if they were to be killed permanently (NPCS). The last one was a combination of the non winners of the previous two

I’m so torn with the idea of Gilear having been cursed because on one hand it flies in the face of “he’s not cursed he’s just a guy” and “some people have to be normal”

But on the other hand I find it deeply amusing that in the world of spyre there is just so many concurrent dnd campaigns going on that having an ancestral curse is so normal and commonplace that the wild coincidence of the bad kids having three different unconnected connections to Ankarna can happen.

Like imagine being Gilear and finding out that the armor which created the curse that has haunted your family line for generations is owned by the guy your wife cheated on you with and your ancestor is trapped in your daughter’s classmate’s mother’s chest.

Both statements are true. He is just some guy and he’s cursed.

The fact that Fabian’s nightmare is to be exactly like Gilear and yet when you look at both of their romantic lineups:

It is literally identical. Like I hate to break it to you pirate boy but the man you supposedly despise and desperately fear becoming is literally just as into toxic elf women as you are.
