Hey question for the community, in an AU where the game doesn't happen, do you think it would be sacrilegious to give Okazaki positive development. Maybe not completely but going a few steps back from complete obsession with Tsuno and maybe learning to view her as a normal person and deconstruct her view on morality a just a little bit. Like she wasn't as bad before the game began, it clearly created the jump from "I am shoplifting and stalking someone" to "I am beating this orphan and killing two people because I was slighted." Asking for fanfic purposes.

Okay, yes, I love okazaki because she's a horrible, awful person, but also, have you considered her fundamental humanity. She views herself as a villain, acts in ways that are unforgivable, and she hurts people and she ruins people's lives for her own enjoyment and her warped ideal of love being inflicting pain, but even the most cruel and callous of hand still has parts that are still tender and soft. Okazaki Hanano is someone who would describe herself as evil and relishes in it, however she is still fundamentally human, and even the worst person alive has done something good, and that can be seen in her friendship with Watari. With Watari, she is silly, and she is caring, and she is tender. When Watari wants to have fun she's chaotic so watari can have fun with her, when watari is worried she let's her talk to her and speaks kindly and tries to reassure her, and when watari is kind to her, okazaki is kind in turn. Okazaki was not someone shown love as a child, so she views hurting others as a form of love. Okazaki was not given attention as a child, so she hates being ignored. Okazaki was seen as unimportant and inhuman, so to cope and feel wanted, she had to create her own self-importance and use her egoism as a crutch. It's why her execution quote is, "She had a very strong sense of self-importance." Okazaki Hanano is a character who may at first seem larger than life and unrealistic, but when you truly think about it for long enough, Okazaki is just as realistic and human as every other tetro character. I mean if you were the child of an uncaring mother and saw a man die in front of you at like age 7 and were repeatedly told your only purpose was to be a blood donor and that you'd be killed if you failed to be of use and you were neglected and mistreated and were also super autistic and the reprehensible man that saved your life proclaimed himself to be evil and eventually ran away/moved out at age 13 and lived on the streets I think you'd also develop a pathological obsession with a pretty girl who you can build up in your head as perfection incarnate and develop a complex about being inherently evil.

ok so first of all I really like to think that sometimes when okazaki designs masks, after she met watari, there were a lot more themes of orange and red in them

perfect duo for cuddling. watari would 100% be super warm while sleeping, and I feel like okazaki would always be cold.

on the topic of this^ okazaki probably accidentally (accidentally my ass..) scared watari with her cold hands.

we saw this in canon but I can't elaborate on this enough 🙏 watari hiding in Okazaki's coat on cold days. I will never change my mind on this

if we're going for a normal highschool au, I feel like watari would try different hairstyles on okazaki cus she has shorter hair. some girls on the fire dancing team have shorter hair, so she would obviously wanna make sure team hairstyles stay universal, no matter the length! (or so she says...)

watari regularly reminding okazaki of certain social queues (idk how to spell it) in daily life. I don't make the rules.

okazaki has probably made a mask for watari once or twice, but instead of being like "hey I made this for you", she would just leave it on watari's bed or desk with a note

similar to this: watari would probably think gifts from okazaki are cute, but be a little distrusting towards any of it due to Okazaki's stealing habits

similar to this²: watari would try (key word: try) to help limit okazaki from stealing as often. ...doesn't work very well, considering how sneaky okazaki is

arguments between them would probably be resolved either really quickly, or be healed with time. no in between, either apologizes first.

messy bathroom counter. okazaki got this habit from watari, and it kinda just stayed. neither bothers to clean it unless it's SUPER bad, but it's usually just cluttered

I like to think about failed cooking dates that just end in getting takeout. after a certain amount of tries, they both know damn well what'll happen and try regardless because it's fun (plus, who the hell would pass on an opportunity to get take out?)

however.. if it's watari cooking alone? it's fine. sometimes okazaki just.. forgets to leave her room when working on a mask, so watari would remind her with dinner on the table.

sharing clothes is something that would happen often

over all I give them a 10/10 rating on my absolutely blind to any problems in a relationship scale!

Hey am I the only person who picked up on Sasaki's weird one-sided beef with Chiba? She repeatedly gets frustrated with her during group meetings every time she talks, she insults her intelligence during Salvation game whenthe mistake she made really wasn't even that dumb of her, and I think it's a really interesting part of both of their characters. For Chiba I think it's interesting and telling that she doesn't really acknowledge that Sasaki was belittling her intentionally or unintentionally, and continues to admire her post mortem ("she was really smart"). I think it shows that Chiba is used to being treated like an idiot, so she just takes it. For Sasaki I think it's interesting because it implies a lot about her relationship with childhood. I think she gets frustrated with Chiba because she (wrongfully) assumes that Chiba is unmared and innocent still. And I think it makes her upset because she feels jealous that she still can't feel that way when they're the same age, so in order to prop herself up, she flaunts her supposed maturity over Chiba, her leadership skills and her intelligence, because Chiba seemingly has the traits that Sasaki wishes she could have back.

Idk I think their dynamic is really interesting and I wish they interacted more and in conclusion Sasaki Hitomi is a terrible baby sitter.

Wow, I am really crying right now, but I can't exactly say I'm sad. I think the tetro community is something really special. We're niche and were small, but it makes us close knit. If you regularly post on any site it's likely you gain a reputation as a big fan of one character, a niche shipper, an artist, and it's really special because of how small we are. I see everyone coming together and giving people condolences when their favorites die and it's so wholesome and it feels so warm. If feel if I were to try to do something like that in any other fandom, it would feel really parasocial and weird, but we're small and close knit, so it feels less like talking to a stranger and more talking to an acquaintance. Which is probably gross and parasocial of me to say, sorry.

I'm genuinely not trying to brag when I say this, but I have written a few posts that have really taken off in the fandom, maybe not massively in the grandscheme, but massively to me. And it makes me feel so incredibly proud when something I've written about a piece of media I love gets recognized by someone who is so incredibly cool to me because they do the same. When I see "the cool tetro people in my phone" like kei, or lanie, or chou, or augury acknowledge something ive drawn or written I feel so incredibly seen in a way that excites and horrifies me. It makes me wonder if to any of you, I'm someone like that. This is really my first experience with fandom. Usually, I'm just a background observer, and I don't participate, but I feel tetro is something that requires you to participate in it. And I think it's really special. I think the art is so truly incredibly special. I think the community and companionship are so incredibly special.

I don't know any of you, but we're connected through this incredibly niche, incredibly beautiful experience, so in a way, I do know you. We spend our Thursdays anxiously awaiting, we spend our Fridays in baited breath, and we spend our Saturdays mourning the aftermath. And I'm so incredibly excited to have the absolute blessing of doing it again, from the start this time.

This is a really stupid rant, but if you actually read it, thanks for entertaining my ramblings. I hope you all know that the community loves you. I hope you know that I value you, even if I don't know you. I hope you know that I ended up stalking the page of like 60% of whatever bozos like my dumb rambles. I hope you know that you're important. I hope you know that this is an experience you should be grateful for. I dont mean that in the guilt trippy way, i mean that in the actual gratitude way. Because I know that I am incredibly grateful for this experience. Even in my darkest day, tetro is always just a friday away. And if friday feels too far, the community is just a button press away. I hope you have a really nice day, okay?

We talk about their deaths like they were real people, we remember the time when they were alive with a fond reverence and we mourn their death along side the cast in real time. It's a feeling that can't really be recreated by other formats. I think it's really special and it's why I find tetro has resonated with me too deeply. But at the same time, it's still just fiction. We still get to watch them smile and cry over and over again, and even if those smiles feel bittersweet and when they cry we feel even more painful, at least we can keep those memories sealed in that precious little bottle.

Okay don’t take my word as gospel or anything because I’m not like a full staff sider and I only read threads associated with the students when I catch them, but I don’t think any of the other survivors are going to die. Ophelienne’s role is to represent the deceased and her appearing specifically after Wada’s death and not Ken’s death or Mai’s death heavily implies to me that Wada is the last pink participant to die. I don’t really understand why she would appear after Wada’s death if the other survivors are going to die after her. I think it’s after Wada because she’s the last to die. Which sucks big time, but at least the rest are safe..?

Also essentially TransFemme Wada confirmation at a heavy cost…

(If when Ophelienne’s design is revealed and those flowers are a bouquet of all the flowers in the trial thumbnails I’m going to scream very loudly and not stop)
