Cale slowly started to speak.

The corners of Alberu’s lips twisted down.

Cale didn’t seem to notice as he looked back at his food and continued to speak.

“The cookies were better than yours too, hyung.”

“…Is that so?”

“Yeah.”

Alberu was in disbelief and shocked.

However for some odd reason…

“Hmm… That’s upsetting.”

“Huh?”

“Nothing. Keep eating.”

Alberu crossed his arms as he told Cale to keep eating.

He remembered how Raon had flown toward Choi Han with a box of cookies.

‘The White Star must have sent that box of cookies too, right?’

For some odd reason, Alberu felt as if he had lost to the White Star.

Cale Henituse is not just a contradict. He’s an ✨Extra Contradict. Let me elaborate.

We know that Cale Henituse contradicts himself as naturally as breathing. But he’s so extra when he does that.

Examples:

Cale: I better not get involved with Choi Han I don’t want to form a connection with him

Also Cale: *dresses, feeds, protects, makes him his most loyal subordinate, finds out he has a deeper bond that he thought , reveals secrets and is himself with Choi Han*

...My second favorite thing in TCF? Everybody is crazy... but also not

I love how every single TCF character is simultaneously the only sane person around and a crazy maniac, depending on the situation.

Raon: Human, you need to eat and rest! Now eat apple pies! Also Raon: I’ve known my Human for only a week, but if anything happens to him, I’ll destroy everyone in the world and then myself.

Choi Han: Cale-nim, stabbing yourself is not allowed. Also Choi Han: I’m sorry I only dismembered them, Cale-nim, I promise I’ll completely obliterate them all next time! *smiles innocently*

On & Hong: That dragon is absolutely going to join us, isn’t he. Also On & Hong: Yay assassination!!!

Cale: Why am I constantly surrounded by crazy strong people? I just wanna live a peaceful slacker life… Also Cale: *explodes an island and throws money into lava while laughing maniacally*

Alberu: I can’t leave you alone for a day without a nation-scale crisis occuring, huh dongsaeng? Also Alberu: *gives Cale free reign to use his name and his money across the continents*

Snippet No. 5

Ignoring the obvious, no matter how ridiculous or unreal it may be, is what had gotten Jin Woo into trouble before.

Ignoring the warning of a penalty from a holographic blue screen only he could see, for example, had made him taste repercussion in the form of sand. And giant murderous man eating centipedes.

Thankfully instead of being traumatized for a lifetime the the point of fearing bugs, he vengefully went back to the Penalty Zone to hunt them down. It was good material find, as much as it had also bought cathartic relief.

Now, he was sure he had learned his lesson from that.

'Don't ignore what is obvious.'

And he's still sure he had.

"Is there....something I could help you with Jin Chul-ssi?" he asks the man besides him cautiously, deciding he could focus his attention somewhere else for the time being. They were in a dungeon, yet again. S-rank, though not on the difficult side. The other had requested to accompany him and Yoo Jin Ho upon spotting them, but hadn't given his reasoning behind as to why.

Jin Woo had accepted the request with the thought that it might have something to do with Monitoring Division business, but now he was starting to suspect other reasons.

Was something wrong with the president of the Hunter Association? Did Jin Woo do something wrong as of late? Political problems?

He raked through the information his shadows had gathered in the past week in his mind, and couldn't come up with anything.

But to be fair, most of his shadow soldiers weren't too well versed with the human world either. Sometimes the information they bring could over exaggerated, or the opposite. It's quite possible that he had missed something.

"I simply wanted to spend time with you. A break from work if you will," the other leaned on his left side, veering slightly closer into Jin Woo's space, though not enough to breach any personal boundaries.

For a moment he feels confusion "Do you take breaks in dungeons?"

Then, as the words come out of his mouth, he feels like it makes sense.

After all, what better way to escape work than in a dungeon? Woo Jin Chul was likely a high in demand employee, a rare high ranking hunter that wasn't unreasonable in personality and was someone diligent in the tasks given to him.

And this was an S-rank dungeon, one which not many hunters would try to enter, especially not when Sung Jin Woo had immediately laid claim on it.

Woo Jin Chul sends a look towards him, an eyebrow raised and face graced with clear amusement, before he turns his attention back towards the shadow army at work.

Hm.

Jin Woo feels like he's missing something else. Something that is obvious...or perhaps he's ignoring it.

But even if it is what he thinks it is....

He turns his gaze back towards the scene of Yoo Jin Ho instructing the shadow soldiers in charge of excavating the rare minerals the dungeon offers.

...It is unlikely that it's something he should pursue.

Not when he was going to possibly go to war.

He crosses his arms, his gaze steady.

No, he thinks. It's enough that Jin Ah and his mother are left to mourn him, in the case he can't return.

He knows all too well what it's like for a loved one to not return.
