y'all wanna know what pisses me off? even if you don't, imma tell you anyway
I've been seeing it ALL over the place, but it's from all these pjo fans who never read toa, but then they somehow get it in their heads that jason didn't know leo was alive when he died? but he definitely did, apollo told him and piper pretty early on.
and then they get pissy over the fact that jason died, which is dumb. good stories aren't always the ones where everyone lives, and Jason's death definitely had purpose, even if you didn't like what it was - that's what a tragedy is.
but i'm over here literally begging people to actually read the series. and then it's just completely false information floating around that everybody believes right off the bat because they want to hate toa so bad.
just my two cents.

Nah. the fact that Jason remembered getting picked up by his mom as a baby, and even remembered her telling him not to be afraid of thunder bc it's his dad's way of letting him know that he's loved, has me in SHAMBLES goodbye.

To the people saying "Jason wouldn't have jumped into tartarus for Piper, like Percy did for Annabeth" as a way to demean him. Jason, plunged into the sky from the grand canyon to catch Piper in the first few pages of the lost hero without even knowing who she was, and without the knowledge that he could fly. so he basically jumped to his death attempting to catch her. In the first few pages of his journey, he didn't mind dying to save Piper, and ironically, that's also what he did in the last few pages of his journey. Y'all just be making the most out of pocket claims abt jason fr

I have a problem and its the Heroes of Olympus.
I literally cant detach myself from that series. Percy Jackson and the Olympians is and forever will be my number one, but god I love HoO so fucking much.
I understand that it is one of Ricks weakest series. Its got a lot of issues and problems. The story struggles a lot and some of the books are pretty bad.
But my god, this series made me. Its like the Lost Hero grabbed my soul and the rest of the books slowly joined it. I am permanently entangled with this series.

remember when nico told jason "yeah i had a crush on percy back then, but i was young and impressionable, i already got over it"? brother in christ you're still, like, thirteen, why are you talking about your elementary school crush like he's your ex-wife whose betrayal made you vow to never love again

i know that everyone wants to see the 'percy with a photo of annabeth' thing in the show and i do too, but can we talk about this scene for a second? percy and tyson's relationship is way too underrated and this needs to be there

I’ve noticed recently that there has been a Jason renaissance of sorts.
*Spoilers for the Burning Maze ahead*
Jason has one of the most tragic stories in the Camp Half-Blood Chronicles. The boy was stripped from his family at age two as a gift to Juno. He was then raised by wolves and trained as a child soldier. Then he gets ripped from the only home he has ever known, his memories stripped, and then placed with people who have a false idea of who he is.
But its OK! He gets a chance at a second home, a girlfriend, a best friend, his sister back, and memories begin to come back.
Then he gets thrown back into a long quest but he finally gets the chance to return home to Camp Jupiter. Almost immediately the camp gets fired on by a possessed Leo and he is declared an enemy.
He gets thrown into a leader position yet again, only to be pit against another powerful demigod. Not to mention he is repeatedly knocked unconscious, making him feel weak. He gets stabbed and almost dies. And then the cherry on top, he loses his best friend.
Then, once everything is returned to normal, he has a job as he dedicated his life to ensuring the minor gods are venerated. His best friend comes back, but they can’t find him. His girlfriend dumps him. And he ends up alone at a school in Southern California.
But its fine, because he makes a life for himself. He is happy enough and content with his life.
And then he fucking dies.
He never got to see his best friend again. He died having never found a true home. He died as a product of a gods quest. He died a pawn of Hera. He died after once again having devoted himself to the gods, who never thanked or repaid him.
He just fucking dies

The scene in which Percy witnesses the siren’s call to Annabeth
I think about this moment all the time. Annabeth insists on listening to the sirens, because of course she does. After she escapes, Percy manages to catch her and when he does, he is able to see her vision. In it, Fredrick Chase, Athena, and Luke welcome Annabeth into a redesigned New York, one that Annabeth herself presumably designed. It was grander than Mount Olympus.
But while everything in this new world was seemingly perfect, it was missing one thing. It didn’t feature her best friend, Percy Jackson. But there is a specific reason for this.
Its because Percy didn’t need fixing.
Everything in Annabeth’s vision was something that was broken in her life. Her relationship with her parents, their relationship with each other, Luke’s betrayal, and the world as a whole being rife with homeless and war. Each of the pieces of her vision were broken.
And Annabeth was the one to fix them. Her perfect world featured all of the broken pieces of her life fixed. But Percy wasn’t there,
Because Percy didn’t need fixing
Annabeth didn’t see Percy as broken, so she didn’t feel as if he needed fixing. He was really the one stable piece of her life, her best friend, and he didn’t need fixing.
She truly loved him enough that even her fatal flaw of hubris couldn’t touch him.
That is why Percy Jackson wasn’t in Annabeth Chase’s vision. Not because she didn’t see him as an important part of her life, but because he didn’t need fixing.
And if that isn’t love, I don’t know what is

Snow is very much projecting Lucy Gray onto Katniss and himself onto Peeta while not realizing that Sejanus and Katniss have more in common and Lucy Gray and Peeta are more similar.
But also, there is no way he didn't make the connection between Jessup and Lucy Gray and Peeta and Katniss either. I mean come on, A boy from district 12 who would probably have died in the hunger games to protect the singing girl, a boy who was kind and put himself in danger to protect someone else (both of them from bombings), is that Peeta or Jessup ? Also there is an explicit parallels with the "rabid boy, trapped girl, bombed building, a tale that could end in tragedy, star crossed lovers meeting theirs fates, a war saga that takes no prisoner". Do we think that's what inspired Hijacked Peeta ?
Snow when he got Peeta in Mockingjay: ,you know what would be funny ? If I repeated the 10th hunger games.
I also really wonder what happened to Lysistrata, do we think Snow killed her later on ? considering that she was the only one of the mentors (that wasn't Sejanus) to be like: "those people are actually human beings." I don't think she would be okay with the hunger games continuing.

anyone else notice that there was no physical description of Annabeth, specifically her hair, in Chalice of the Gods?
one of Rick’s favorite thing to do every time Annabeth is in a story is talk about her curly blond hair, but in Chalice it isn’t mentioned once, and this is absolutely because of Leah’s casting in the show. Leah embodies the spirit of Annabeth as a character and isn’t defined by the description Rick came up with almost 20 years ago
(also the dedication to Walker, Leah, and Aryan melted my heart okay bye)
