PLOT: Monsters in this world use musical instruments in fight and play individual music genre. Take Toriel for example. She use flute and classic music. When she playing on this instrument everybody who hear her music will be attacked (or happens something else that suits her magic). And when monsters singing lyrics along music, their attacks become intensifies. But not everyone can do that. Therefore those who can attack with lyrics are revered.

Frisk is child who cannot use magic. They met Flowey, who don't remember anything about past and they start adventure together. Frisk helps to Flowey remembering something about his life. Flowey helps to Frisk by protecting them from monsters and helping with attacks. They use a capella music in attacks.

A capella - music is a performance by a singer or a singing group without instrumental accompaniment
