My main blog is TheEletroGuardian, at least in here, but you should search me on deviantART, where I'm more serious. I've created this blog because my dream is to be writer. So, this tumblr will be specially dedicated to my writing pieces: fanfiction (Sonic world), fiction about my characters (also from Sonic world) and one or another original story (which might be improbable but I will try). I hope you enjoy, everything you see here will be written by me.

Unidentified Deadly Subject
Ross Dickson’s team had been assigned as a rescue team for another team who hasn’t emitted any kind of sign to the headquarters. They have been silent for days. Both he and his team were frustrated, being minimized to a simple rescue team but, considering the location, they might’ve some benefits from it. After all, all missions in Mobius were dead serious and only the highest ranked G.U.N. agents were assigned to them.
“Did you get anything?” he asked the other members.
“Not yet.” answered Charles, a typically quiet person but still a great guy and very serious about his work, which he did very well. Ross was lucky to have ended up with a good member like him.
“Nothing here either.” answered Liam and John in unison. They usually did that, that’s why they both got the nickname ‘The twins’. Of course, the two didn’t enjoy as much but didn’t stop anyone from ticking them off.
“Let’s keep searching.”
They kept inspecting the forest. It was quiet, there was an often rabbit jumping from the bushes and sound of crows, but nothing relevant. The animals were the least of their worries. They were equipped with the best arsenal of G.U.N. No stupid, brainless animal could surpass that.
Ross wondered if there were different species on the planet of Mobius. It was his first time on the planet but he had heard a lot about it from the agents that went there to capture more Mobian subjects. His first time crossing the portal from Earth to Mobius had left him a bitty dizzy, but he had been warned beforehand and told it was natural. The other members knew just as little as him, except for Charles, who had already been in a few “recruiting” missions.
The Mobian Soldier Project was something only a handful of agents knew since the headmasters didn’t want such a gentle information to fall in loose mouths. Fortunately, he worked at one of the sections in which that was going on so he was immediately informed. Ross was taught that Mobians possessed many attributes that humans didn’t. First of all: the ability to have powers. Mobians had an all collection of powers of different varieties. Some Mobians with powers worked with them, although it was pretty clear they had no idea of their secret project, otherwise they would have just told them to go to hell. A Mobian with powers has never been captured either, but that would be a great achievement. Just think of the beast it would turn into! Besides that, Mobians were physically stronger than humans and their immune system much more developed than the one of a human.
“Do you think it was it?” Liam asked.
He was referring to a particular Mobian who has given a hell of a headache lately. They say it started one year ago or so. Many agents died at its hands and in the most grotesque ways. And they didn’t even know what it looked like! No one survived to tell. All they heard in the last communications of those who faced the unidentified Mobian were screams and pleas for mercy until everything went silent. The only thing for sure they knew was this: it was deadly and merciless.
“I hope not.” John said, shivering. He had always been terrible with horror stories. At Halloween, night patrols or movie nights, he was the favorite target. His screams were priceless, due to that, the twins often called him “Sissy” or “Princess”.
“We can’t be sure of anything.” Charles answered calmly “We will only know when we get there.”
“You’re right.” Ross agreed “And if it is it, we are prepared.”
“That’s what they thought.” Liam said in a mischievous tone as if he was telling one of his horror stories.
“Oh, shut up!!” John said as he hit Liam in the back of the head. They laughed at the terrified man “Oh, go to fuck all of you. I hope it doesn’t feed on brains if it finds you or it will die of starvation.”
They laughed again until Ross’s detector started beeping. They got a sign. Back to full seriousness, they held their guns and started carefully approaching the zone until the beeping got louder.
“Okay, folks, remember: we don’t know what we might find but you always must remain calm. Understood?”
“Yes, sir.” the three men replied.
The beeping got louder when they crossed a zone which grass had a trail of blood on it. They immediately prepared for the worst. The team followed the trail of blood to a clearing. The grass was covered in blood and there were two communicators laying on the ground. But nothing else. No bodies. They inspected the zone. Liam grabbed one of the communicators and started typing in search of any clue of where the other team might be or whatever had happened in there.
“What the hell happened in here?” Ross wondered. He looked around but didn’t seem to get any more clues. Everything was dead silent. Too silent. It was as if sound couldn’t reach that place. Or was too afraid to.
Then suddenly something fell on him. Ross cursed before he went dead silent for some seconds when he saw what had fallen into his hands. A head. He threw it away, cursing again. The others came to look closer and seemed as terrified and nauseated as him. Ross then looked up and saw two purple stars shining from the darkness of the leaves of the tree. He felt like death was staring down at him.
“Back away! Prepare your-” he didn’t have time to finish his sentence before the thing busted out of the tree. It jumped from man to man with great, terrifying speed, blood flying everywhere. Its claws dug through the armor with ease, tearing flesh and bone apart.
It all happened in a blur, but it went in slow motion for Ross. His teammates didn’t even have time to aim or even raise their guns, the thing was already on them, tearing them apart with the claws on its feet and hands and with its sharp teeth. Ross could see, through the stains of blood that covered it’s skin, that the creature was originally white-furred, but it had a dark, weird substance clinging to it and black, small horns on its head. He could also it looked like a female, a little girl. But, of all that, what marked him the most were her eyes. They were a dark purple, so dark it looked like an endless pit, surrounded by blurs of crimson red, with the sharpest iris he had ever seen. They were filled with hatred and disgust. For them.
He thought he was staring death in the face and it must have been. Something that could kill so easily, in such a grotesque way could only be death itself or a monster. The scene he had seen… he thought it was only possible in horror movies created by a twisted and with serious problems author. He never thought he would see it in real life. Where was the rest of the other team? Were they in the trees like that head? But why? Why would she do that? What was the purpose? And he understood why when she looked at him. She wanted to destroy them in and out, she wanted to tear their minds apart, drive them to an agonizing madness just like she would do with their bodies. She wanted them to know, before they died at her hands, how much she hated them, how far she would go to hurt them and how serious she was about it.
Ross saw as she stricken for him. He was going to die. His body didn’t move, not even to raise his gun. He knew it would do nothing. But, when he thought of how her claws dug through his comrades' armors, the head that fell down on his hands, still with the helmet on, and the huge puddles of blood, he was afraid. Afraid of the way she would kill him.
He opened his mouth to scream, but no sound came out. Her claws had dug into his jugular, ripping flesh and splashing blood all over. She dug her hands further and got to the skeleton structure. She also ripped that off. The last thing Ross remembered was feeling like he was flying and the image of his body collapsing on the ground before everything went black.
...
Stella observed as the human’s head fell to the ground, staring with a glassy gaze at his lifeless body. She looked at the most recent corpses and then to the older ones, hidden up in the trees. Still looking up, she punched the tree next to her. The tremble caused by her strength made the hidden corpses fall to the ground.
She didn’t feel anything, not anymore. Now, to her, killing humans was just something as natural as breathing. It didn’t bring her pleasure nor pain. The first time, however, had been different. Stella had felt like she was under some kind of trance and when she woke up she saw unrecognizable dead bodies, their blood, and remainings smeared all over her. The forest was filled with her agonized, terrified scream, scaring birds from their posts on the trees and any animal near the area. She screamed until she lost her voice. For hours, she couldn’t take her eyes off what she had done, curled into a ball with her back pressed against a tree. In front of her, she had all the food she had had inside her stomach. She didn’t eat for days.
It was then that the shadows started whispering inside her head, the darkness starting to spread through her mind and body, corrupting her. Even her physical appearance had changed. But that didn’t compare to the wreck her mind was. The pain refused to leave. No matter how much physical pain she induced on herself, nothing could silence or blur out the agony.
However, there is nothing she can do. Stella has accepted that a long time ago, although she wishes for them to go away, those annoying little pricks, buzzing like flies in her ears. Fortunately, they seemed to be more afraid of her than the contrary. The nature of these powers was unknown to Stella, but she was sure they were something big, the kind of power many wished to have so they would have the world bow before them. And if she let it out… everything would be destroyed. But she didn’t care about that last part, not anymore…
Stella observed the corpses with indifference before she opened 'the hole’ which swallowed the humans and the blood on the grass.
It was also one of her new abilities. It seemed to open to a different dimension. But she also noticed another thing. It revives those or what passed through it. She remembers the shock that invaded her when she sent another pile of human corpses and they started screaming. She was going to jump inside of it to kill them for good, but other creatures lurking in the darkness slithered their way their victims. What she saw was indescribable, but she couldn’t take her eyes off of it. But it didn’t stay there. Even when the humans turned to shreds they were still alive and screaming, begging for mercy like they had done with her, their remainings moving to form their bodies once again. And the shadows attacked them and they healed back up again. The cycle continued. After some more times, she discovered that she could choose if who or what was sent would be revived or not, but she still doesn’t have much control over it.
After she closed it, there were no clues left of what had just happened.
She started walking in the direction of the closest river. She could handle being dirtied by the darkness, but she wouldn’t accept being conspurcated by anything related to those filthy, disgusting humans. All humans deserved to be dead and she would make sure that every human that crossed her way would suffer as much as the Mobians they held captive, the Mobians whose lives they destroyed.

The Haunting Past
The male mobian scram in horror as he saw her change her form, her eyes locked on his body with a furious gaze. Her fur was grey, some strange things appeared from her back, her tail was long and dark, her muzzle had grown so it could handle her sharper and bigger teeth. She growled as her claws deepened on the ground, her fur standing up, her sharp purple eyes contrasted in the dark with their furious glow. The male mobian scram again and the anger in her grew fiercer and more intense. She stood on her feet, that had claws which destroyed her shoes. She roared as she approached him. The male scram again, seconds ago it was supposed to be her screaming. But the scene took a drastic change. "P-pl-please don't hurt me?" he begged. The anger in her grew. The girls he had hurt said the same thing, and he ignored them. Why should she listen to him? She didn't listen to anybody, except the beast inside her that was screaming for her to do what she wanted and what he deserved. She roared again as she caught him in her hands. She bit his neck, yanking some flesh, her ears stayed still even with his painful scream. Her claws deepened in his harms and he screams again. Her claws left his arms and she started slicing him as if she was attacking mercilessly an enemy with a long sword. He still screams, even with the thrill of the kill she made sure the wounds weren't deep enough to kill him quickly. She wanted him to suffer, she wanted him to remember the pain that killed, that pain being so much that it would follow him to hell,  where he belonged. His screams kept on and on, darkening the atmosphere of the forest they were in. The trees tried to get away from the scene, but being fiercely connected with the soil their roots held, they were forced to watch them, his screams painning them. Blood colored the grass, the Moon hid from them, too terrified to show her light to them. She was tired of holding back. The things in her back, that seemed to be the wings without any feathers or anything that would allow her to fly, moved, raising themselves in the dark sky, moving in an inexplicable and horrifying way, drilling his body and coming out just as quickly. Blood covered her body, her long tail joined her drilling devices. There wasn't almost anybody, most of the body were big holes, but she kept the same process, too blind with her own anger to care about those facts. She kept playing with the body until there wasn't nothing to play with. In hell, he would remember what she did to him. In her nightmares, she would remember what she did to him. ====================================================== She woke up sweating and breathing heavily, sitting on her bed, the blankets fell in her legs. For some blind seconds, she thought she just had a nightmare. It wasn't a nightmare, she thought, only a memory. Only a memory. The shadows in her room moved, slithering closer to her. Stella hissed, scaring the shadows away. She wasn't sure if it was a good thing, the fact that even the shadows feared her. It had it's good points certainly, but it also meant she was perfect to be what she was written to be. Without saying anything, her voice fusing with the silence, neither a sigh dared to escape from her, she left the room and went downstairs. The soft carpet against her feet almost soothed her, but if a simple carpet was enough to calm her, then she wouldn't have all these problems. She went to the kitchen. The house was dark and silent and she avoided all the noise she could do, the last thing she wanted was to wake up her friends because of her memories. She filed one glass with water, it wouldn't help much but trying to sleep after that memory could be drastic. She washed her face with the cold water, in hope that would cool her. She sighed as her hands left her face, wetting it with the cool water. It didn't help her, but these were things people did when they were nervous, maybe she only did these things so she could feel a little bit more normal. Nonetheless, the cold water always helped her thinking, it was quite refreshing, even though it didn't help much, it certainly made some difference, for as light as it was. Her ears twitched with the sound of footsteps and she turned in the same direction. Her eyes met Felix's own golden pair. As he spotted her, a pink blush spread his muzzle, that always happened when she was near him. "Stella?" he was saying "What are doing up, so late at night?" he asked. "I should be asking you the same thing." she smirked. His ears bent down, he stared at his feet as if he was afraid of staring at anything else "I couldn't sleep." he whispered, almost inaudible but thanks to Stella's developed hearing, she was able to hear his words. "You dreamt with the humans again?" Felix often had nightmares about humans, the trauma was such that he woke up sweating and begging for his invaders to stop his torture. He nodded, without looking at her. Stella tensed, she absolutely hated humans, how could she not after what they've done to him and tried to do with her? "It wasn't that bad." he started after some seconds of silence, tense yet comfortable, he always felt comfortable in silence with her "I've had worse, but I needed to calm a little after going back to sleep." he explained, his golden eyes gained courage to look at her, but soon looked away again. It wasn't that looking at her made him comfortable, it didn't, in fact, seeing her calmed him and made him smile. She was his reason to smile. "You tried to go to my room?" Stella asked. "No. I didn't want to bother you." he said. Her eyes softened and her all body followed the act. He was like this, putting the others first even when he was hurt. He was so sweet, he owned a big heart. "Felix, if Nila can come to my room when she has a nightmare, you can come too." His cheeks went red and she wondered what he was thinking. It couldn't be much, Felix was extremely innocent and just thinking about holding her hand made him blush. "Y-yeah but i-it's different. I-I'm a boy and y-you're a-a girl a-an-and-" he kept mumbling and Stella couldn't help but smirk. "Felix, I know what you're thinking." he squeaked involuntarily "And you don't have to worry about that. I know that you would never do anything to disrespect or hurt me. I trust you Felix and I wouldn't feel uncomfortable next to you in that way." She saw his blush grow redder and spread to his all muzzle and ears "R-really?" he mumbled. Stella couldn't help but blush, he was adorable "Yes, really Felix." her smile grew wider and for some moments she forgot why she was up so late at night. He always managed to make her smile even in the worst times, that was one of the many things she loved about him. His golden eyes finally met hers for more than two seconds, gazing at them adoringly and lovingly. Felix was the first one to ever look at her in the eyes without any fear, only absolute adoration. Sometimes she felt weak under his gaze, he could read her better than anyone, even better than Nila. And that worried her but also made her feel safe, a strange relief always spread her, because she knew she didn't need to hide anything from him. "Why are you up so late?" he asked, filling the silence between them, his voice failed, he was still in trance because of her eyes. She wasn't any different, she took some seconds to form real words, but when the reason why she was there and not in her room came to her head, it was easy for her to forget the trance she had entered. Her gaze diverted to the glass of water she was holding "I recorded the night when I became a murderer." her voice was cold, she didn't want to show any of the feelings that crossed her at the moment. She felt the shadows closer again, she only needed to glance over at them to scare them. "Stella," Felix started, as Stella kept looking to the place where the shadows had come from, she didn't look at him, but he kept talking "you're not a murderer." Her eyes turned to meet his, with a cold stare "I am." she said, her tone matching her gaze. "You're not!" Felix answered back "It wasn't you, it was your dark side. You would never do that!" "It was my dark side." she started "But I wanted what happened to him." her eyes placed again oh the glass of water "I wanted to do that, Felix. The only thing I regret from that night was the fact that I did that but I also didn't. It was my dark side, yes, but I wanted to be the one doing that, without the darkness." she answered calmly. She could feel his shocked gaze on her, she thought she had lost him, that he wouldn't love her anymore after knowing this. "That's your rage talking." he said after minutes of silence. Stella sighed "Felix, you have to accept tha-" "No! I know that you would never want anything like that!" "That was after I met you. You've changed me, Felix. It's true that now I would regret if I killed someone, but that's because I've something to fight for, now. But back there, I didn't, I didn't have anything to lose." she explained, her eyes only locked with his for some mere seconds, before turning back to the glass of water. "Stella..." he stopped there, not knowing what else to say. Silence took its place, a heavy uncomfortable silence. Stella fought back the tears that wanted to come out. Why was she crying anyway? She felt him closer, she didn't even feel him walking, coming down was her worst mistake, if she wasn't going to sleep in her rage before, she would sleep with her pain and sadness now. But she couldn't let him see it, she didn't want him to think that he made her cry. "Stella," she felt his fingers touching her cheek, the contact send electricity down her body, pulling her face gently so she would look directly at his eyes "I didn't know you felt that way." his voice was calming and silent, only she could hear him. He was being honest, not only could she read it in his eyes but she also knew he would never lie to her. She felt his arms circling around her waist, pulling her closer to him as he whispered "I'm sorry." Stella was too shocked to do anything. What was he sorry about? He did nothing wrong, he had nothing to be sorry about. She felt a tear landing on her shoulder. "Felix?" she made him look at her, she saw tears streaming from his eyes and him trying to control them. "Felix, don't cry." she said as she whipped the tears away, his sobbing being painful for her heart  "Why are you crying?" she asked softly. He sobbed before answering "I'm s-sorry that I didn't understand when it was obvious a-and that I-I almost ma-ade y-you c-cry." he sobbed and tears started streaming from his eyes again. She wanted to cry too, seeing him cry made her want to cry. She kept whipping his tears away, she kissed his tears away in an attempt to calm him, her arms around his waist, rocking him from side to side, soothing on his ears that everything was okay. She knew he was crying because of her pain, it were rare the moments Stella found Felix crying because of his pain. He never thought much of himself, he never thought much about his feelings, he valued more the feelings of the others. She admired that, but she also wished he just thought a little bit more in himself. After some minutes he was calmer, his hold on her was still tight, but she didn't mind, she felt safe in his arms. She gave one last peck to his cheek, leaving her soft lips pressed for some more seconds, still leaving them when he leaned on. She parted from his cheek, her finger delicately brushed the same cheek, directing the way to her gaze. He loved the way her eyes shined in the darkness, how he noticed their softness whenever she gazed at something she liked. Her friends, children, squirrels, her favorite animal since small, him. Her eyes softened to all that, to people with a big heart, she knew that since it was easy for her to read people. She could read the pain people had been through just by looking at their eyes. Her eyes were penetrating, stared down at your soul, and he was like her favorite book, devouring all the words written on its inside. The comfortable silence found a place next to them again, as they stared at each other, their eyes locked in a soft loving gaze. He rested his forehead on hers, never leaving her gaze, noticing the smile that played on the corners of her lips that he desired to taste, but was too shy to make such a far move. "Are you better?" her soft voice sounded, scaring the silence away in a loving way. He nodded, pulling her closer to him, to be sure that she was there and wasn't an illusion created to torture him. He still felt guilty for not having realized the way she felt, the pain was devouring him. But how could he think and pay attention to the pain, when he had the girl, that invaded his mind constantly, holding him with her warm arms, assuring him that everything would be okay with her soft soothing voice. "Felix, you don't to feel bad about this. You didn't know, that's okay, I don't even want you to know how it feels, I would never want that, not to any of my friends, not to you." her hand moved and rested on his cheek, caressing it, her exposed fur brushed with his own, he loved when she didn't wear any gloves "And if you ever have a nightmare, you can come to my room, okay? You don't have to be afraid of the humans, they won't hurt you, I won't let them do that. I'll always protect you." "Really?" his eyes shined in awe and adoration. She was saying that she would protect him from the humans, and there were thousands, if not millions, of them, working on this "project". She would protect him from all of them, and he knew that that was true. Her smile grew wider, she leaned in and kissed his nose, her ears twisting with the sound of his quiet squeak of surprise, she had to contain her laughter. When she parted, she noticed how his muzzle was red again and couldn't help but chuckle, making the wolverine blush even more. "A-are you better?" he asked. She hummed in response "Now I am." she smiled sweetly at him and he smiled just as sweetly in response. He snuggled her shoulder happily as her hands ran through his hair. He was taller than her, maybe due to the experiments, he was put through. Those experiments gave him strength but he also lost lots of things, his abilities to talk and read were damaged, if it wasn't for Stella, he would be a mumbling illiterate mess. Stella was almost a year older than him but that really didn't matter to him, he would still love her even if she was three or five years older than him. "You need to rest." she whispered in his ear, one of her hands rested in the back of his neck as the other leaned his head to her mouth, so she would only need to whisper. He hugged her closer in response. He didn't want to go, he wanted to stay right where he was with his white angel in his embrace. "We both need to rest." she added, with a light chuckle, her breath tickling and teasing his ear. Right now his head was under her chin and he couldn't help but get a whiff of her scent, blushing even more in the result. As if reading his mind she said "If you want you can sleep with me." she whispered and there was an emotion, that Felix couldn't quite put a finger, on her voice. He moved his head gently, so he wouldn't scare her with a sudden move nor bump on her chin, his eyes shined with excitement and happiness. Should he say yes? He wanted to be the one filling the space beside her but was it right? He was better now and didn't need more comfort, not that he minded since it was her giving it. So was it right to go with her, even when he was better? "I know what you're thinking." she said, a smile teasing her lips "And if you accept, that doesn't mean that you are using me. You're not and I'm the one who's asking you." a blush evaded her cheeks and she looked adorable when she was embarrassed "I mean if you want you can come. I-I-" "I would gladly join you." he cut her, smiling sweetly at her and trying to keep his cool even with her eyes sparkling adorably starring at him. Her smile made him melt and his mind went mush for some moments. They walked through the darkness, the shadows didn't follow Stella, she had nothing that attracted them at the moment, their hands holding so none of them would bump into anything. But Stella had no problem in walking in the dark, she could see everything perfectly. Once they were in her room, they joined in bed. Felix held the white hedgehog tightly in a protective way. He blushed, even more, when her strong, warm and soft arms wrapped around his torso. She lied a kiss on his cheek before whispering "Good dreams." He returned the favor, giving a quick, clumsy peck today her peach, warm cheek "Good dreams." he tried to contain his happiness and excitement. She chuckled in response "They will be now." and both fell asleep in a soft, warm embrace filled with love.

Safe and Sound
Tears kept streaming from his eyes as he sobbed loudly, his voice cracking every time he said “What are we gonna do?” despair and fear loud in his words. None of them could understand what was happening, they were just 8 years old. But there it was, they understood and they knew what could happen. What could happen to the other people…to them?
She just stared at him, no words leaving her mouth, as she didn’t know what to say. She had come prepared for the tears of the ones living in that village, but she didn’t come prepared for his tears. The most important person in her life was crying right in front of her and she didn’t know what to do.
“What are we gonna do Nila? We can’t stop a war! I-I don’t want these people to die. I don’t want US to die!” his green-spring eyes stared at her blue ones, tears gleaming in his peach cheeks. “I don’t want to lose you!!!!” he exclaimed as he closed his eyes tightly, trying to contain the tears that wanted to come and whipping the ones that left with his hands.
After those words, she smiled sweetly at him. She walked up at the orange hedgehog “Ash,” she whispered softly, reaching her arms to him. Her hands caught his and guided them away from his face. His eyes opened and stared at her blue eyes, which smiled at him, tears sliding down his cheeks once again. With her thumb, Nila whipped them away, her hands holding his cheeks.
“Everything will be okay.” she assured, her voice kind and soft.
His face formed that expression of fear, confusion, and despair again “How? How can you be so sure!?”
Nila’s smile grew more “Because I have you.”
The orange hedgehog gasped slightly but said nothing else, his face only concentrating in confusion as he kept staring at her, expectantly. “Together” she continued “We can do anything, remember? We are unstoppable.”
“B-but this is…different…” he murmured.
“I know.” she replied simply.
His eyes widened, confusion growing. Nila’s smile never left her muzzle, her eyes held that confidence usual of her, the strong and brave aura that always emanated from her kept radiating like the sun itself.
“I know this is different. We have faced a lot together…but never a war. But that doesn’t change anything.” she explained with that tone of voice that always made things look clear and simple “I am afraid too, Ash. Heck, I’m terrified!”
He remained silent and then silently, almost shyly he asked “How…how do you hold on then?” he looked so insecure, so fragile, he was a small shard of crystal, easy to break.
“Because of you.” she answered, her smile growing in confidence “No matter how hard things are, how bad, how terrifying they might be, for as long as I have you, I will always have strength and something to hold on to.” she explained sincerely “For as long as I have you, I can face anything or anyone that comes together me. Even a war!”
Her hands slide down his cheeks, cupping his shoulders and bringing him closer to her, warping her arms around him as rocked him like a baby, using one of her hands to rest his head on her chest. “I’m afraid to die too. I’m afraid for the death of these people… I’m afraid for your death the most. There still are so many things I want to do with, so many places to see, so many things to learn. And that’s why I hold on because I want to do all of these things with you.”
Ash remained silent in her embrace, no words running through his head, clueless at what to say. Her words, her heartbeat, her warmth, it all worked as a lullaby on him. Slowly, his arms moved to wrap around her.
“We will win this war.” she continued “We will save these people. We will keep on living. We will be okay. For as long as we are together, we are invincible, I am invincible. And if you can’t fight, I will be your sword and shield, I will be the guardian angel that will always be there to protect you, to comfort you. We will always be together. I promise.”
His grip on her tightened, tears slide down his cheeks again as he buried his face in her chest, crying his soul out. For the people who died, for the people who lost their family, for the people that still lived, for them. And for the beautiful words from the young, yet wisest, hedgehog that held him with care, rubbing his back and head in a comforting way.
Nila’s own tears left her eyes, as Ash, her family, cried in her arms, at the same time as other people in other houses cried for their lost ones, for their living ones, whilst the soul of those passed ones watched the pain of their beloved ones, crying along with them. But her smile remained as she rocked the orange hedgehog and as a melody was sung by her lips.
I remember tears streaming down your face When I said, “I’ll never let you go.” When all those shadows almost killed your light I remember you said, “Don’t leave me here alone,” But all that’s dead and gone and passed tonight
Just close your eyes The sun is going down You’ll be alright No one can hurt you now Come morning light You and I’ll be safe and sound
Don’t you dare look out your window, darling. Everything’s on fire The war outside our door keeps raging on Hold onto this lullaby Even when the music’s gone Gone
Just close your eyes The sun is going down You’ll be alright No one can hurt you now Come morning light You and I’ll be safe and sound
Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh La, la (la, la) La, la (la, la) Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh La, la (la, la)
Just close your eyes You’ll be alright Come morning light, You and I’ll be safe and sound…
Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, oh, oh

Queen of Shadows
Her white quills flew with the wind as she stared down at her enemy, trying to lift himself of the dirt. Pathetically, it made an attempt to strike her by firing his gun. She easily dodged the bullet and caught with her hand, only to reveal the material turned into dust, smashed by her abnormal strength. She jumped from her spot, from a distance that to anyone normal would have broken their legs, in the least, landing elegantly right in front of him. His eyes found hers. He didn't want to look at them, but just like fear glues or eyes to a gun or a monster in front of us, he couldn't at anything but their deadly glint. His body was trembling violently, he wanted to escape but his wounds and fear glued him to the ground. His horror leveled up when shadows formed around her form, black veins ran down her arms and face, curling around her eyes. Her arms were completely black and soon the sleeves of her jacket were ripped off when her arms turned to big for them. He could only imagine what she would with them. When she raised one of them, revealing a slim, yet big hand, with a giant, large claws, sharper than knives, he ducked his head, covering it with his hands and arms. He heard her laugh slightly. It was a horrific sounded that froze his bones, a sound that would haunt his soul forever. He knew that death brought by her wouldn't bring any kind of release. He waited for the impact, that never came. He dared to peek up. Her arms were normal again, but her eyes still had black veins, marks, around them. He could see a puddle of red, almost as red as blood, around her shattered pupils, adding one more color besides the deep, empty purple. This girl wasn't normal, she was the pure devil. No, she wasn't the devil he realized when she grabbed him by the head, lifting him as easily as she would lift a pillow and threw him to a high distance. She walked over to him, calmly, as if there was nothing to fear and she all the time in the world. He didn't know if he couldn't hear her footsteps because she was silent or if it was because of the blood thumping in his ears. But it could be natural to her, that is if the word "natural" can even be applied to this girl. She wasn't the devil, he realized as she grabbed him by the neck and started squeezing it, knocking the hair out of his lungs, looking at him dead in the eye. He felt his flesh and bones being squeezed than smashed, the sound of his bones cracking and the sick sound of his flesh separating filling his ears, exploding in a cloud of blood, covering her white fur with his blood. She kept looking him dead in the eye when his head fell until everything went black. That girl wasn't the devil. No, that was a euphemism t what she really was. She was what the devil itself feared. She was the cause of nightmares that made children wake up, crying, that made adults sweat and sleep with an eye open. She was the inspiration for those morbid tales of urban legends. He didn't know the word to define her, no mortal knows. Only after they count on her 'Dead List' they know her name, and are haunted forever by it and by her cold eyes that only meant death: the Queen of Shadows.

We Are Both Sinners
Archerus observes the room he is currently in. A big sofa lies on the center of the room, facing a fireplace, for none of them, Archerus, Lara or Acharon had any sort of interest in television entertainment or technology whatsoever, preferring peace and quiet and admiration of simpler things. A few books were spread on the sofa, all belonging to Lara since she was the reader of the group and Archerus and Acharon didn't hold nearly as much consideration for literature as the crimson hedgehog or, at least, had capabilities to do so. There wasn't anything much in the room, they liked it simple, the walls were just one color but still gave a warm and inviting vibe.
He didn't deserve any of this.
He was responsible for many deaths... so many deaths. He might not have been the one pulling the trigger or taking the last bow, but he let them happen, technically. All because he believed the girl who caused those deaths, despite everything, still had some good in her... and he thought his feelings could reach her and save her from the darkness. Obviously, that didn't happen. Sapphire was dead now, maybe for the best. Certainly for the best.
Archerus had to admit. It ached in the beginning. And he couldn't tell if it was for the fact that his "love" died... or because he felt like he had failed and all those deaths he helplessly assisted to felt heavier in his shoulders then ever. Right now, he can hear their cries, judging him for doing nothing and let them die so horribly.
He didn't deserve any of this. He didn't deserve any kind of comfort, any kind of respect or consideration.
He deserved to be punished and be locked down in a cell... He deserved to be part of those crying souls... He deserved to be dead like Sapphire...
Archerus looked down, ashamed to look at anything else, feeling unworthy of everything and everyone around him.
The sound of footsteps stops him from going any further with his self-minorizing. He shots his head in the direction of where the sound came and his eyes find Lara. She was in her casual clothes, the ones she wears at home, light-grey jeans and a black top in which the back was cut further down in order to be more comfortable for her back quills. Her grey eyes stare at him quizzically and worriedly, eyebrows furrowed as she had stopped in the middle of her path at the sight of him.
"Archerus? What's wrong?" he hears her ask in that calm and silent voice of hers.
Somehow, Archerus feels a little bit calmer. He doesn't know why. It wasn't the first time. Lara had... some sort of influence on him, even before they defeated Sapphire when she was assigned to work along with the lion and the wolf. Perhaps it was her mercy, something Archerus was greatly unused to due to the many years he interacted with the cruel wolf, or maybe her obvious grief that made him feel sympathetic towards her right in the beginning. During that time, they became close, Sapphire finally found some sort of "babysitter" for him, having no longer to deal with his patheticness, and Archerus finally found someone who didn't see him as a mere tool. Lara had never been afraid to express her displeasure towards the way Sapphire treated him, in fact, that almost got her killed.
"Hey, Lara." Archerus salutes and does not dare to say anything else as he raises his hand to go along with his call.
Lara's expression doesn't change and she remains in her spot for a few seconds, before walking up to him, her eyes never leaving him. It was strange and unusual to see Lara looking at someone directly in the eyes, she rarely did that for she didn't like, or, at least, wasn't used to, any kind of contact. Although that didn't prevent her from burning her enemies with a furious and determined gaze, letting them no she won't go down without a fight. Archerus also admired that about her. There were many things he admired about her.
The crimson hedgehog stops in front of him, her eyes looking up at his, for he was slightly taller than her, as she says "Tell me what's wrong."
Archerus looks away "It's nothing important, really. Just... nothing..."
He feels a gentle and warm hand directing his gaze, his eyes lock with soft, caring and comprehensive grey eyes which comforted him in a way he could not understand, the meaning teasing his fingertips but still out of reach "I respect that you don't want to talk. I have no power over you or right to demand an explanation, for I too do the same. But I don't want you to commit the same mistakes as me." You can still be saved. was left unsaid, she knew he didn't like it when she said those things when she made a worthless pile of trash out of herself.
Her hand was still holding his face in place and he wanted to caress her fingers with his own, lean into her touch and think or worry about nothing else. He wanted to keep looking at those eyes that had more emotion to them than the color gave away and leave his mind blank, an unwritten paper forgotten in some shelf and left unused, no back history. He didn't understand why he wanted any of that, he had never felt this way before.
"Guilt." Archerus says.
The comprehension in Lara's face is radical. She was familiar with that kind of guilt, it constantly haunted her to the point she couldn't sleep, to the point she couldn't feel anything else but the heavy weight of that feeling on her back, her ears left death with the judgments of those who perished under her hands. And she couldn't see anything but red.
"There's nothing for you to feel guilty about, Archerus." Lara replies.
"I let them happen." the lion answers sternly.
"There's nothing you could have done." the crimson hedgehog points back calmly.
"I could have prevented them."
"She would have killed you!" Lara can't help but desperately raise her tone. It wasn't that she didn't believe in Archerus' capabilities... but he wasn't a cold, merciless assassin like Sapphire, who could easily keep up in a fight against Stella the hedgehog, one Lara was afraid to have as an enemy, however fully respected. If he ever tried to stop Sapphire... his body would be unrecognizable.
"At least I would have tried something instead of watching, like a coward!!" Archerus shouted in anger and frustration.
Lara's eyes widen slightly, her jaw falling just a bit as she looks at him with shock. She's unable to answer him back for a few seconds before she says "You're not a coward. You cannot say that."
"Why so?" his eyes flash with frustration and anger, not for her, but for himself.
"Because, if you were, you wouldn't have tried to save me."
Archerus looked away. He remembered that day, the only day he had stood his ground before Sapphire Wolf. The day he almost died. Apparently, Lara already knew who Sapphire was, what she had done and what was capable of. This information had been passed to her when she spent some short time with Nila's team, through Stella. Archerus knew that everyone who was considered a friend of Nila or any other of her friends would receive a badge with which they would be able to send a signal in case of danger. Stella had added a button to those badges: Sapphire's button. The white hedgehog warned Lara of Sapphire. And that warning crossed Lara's mind after she saw Sapphire face to face for the first time. She remained quiet for some time until Sapphire had once again shown what kind of feelings she had for Archerus. Lara jumped on her, saying she had no right to talk like that. Lara disrespected Sapphire and that almost got her killed. She would have died if Archerus hadn't stepped on the scene. His special powers unlocked as he saw Sapphire's hands crushing Lara's neck and an explosion dragged several feet away from the coughing crimson hedgehog. That day was the ignition to many changes in his life.
"That's... that's different..." Archerus muttered, looking away from her.
Lara stared silently at him and it was being so hard for him not to look at her beautiful grey eyes. Her hand moved from his face to his chest, setting his body on fire as her palm pressed where his heart was. Archerus was sure she could feel the speed with which it was running, but whatever Lara thought about that, she didn't give anything away.
"Maybe you are right..." she sais after some moments of silence, staring at her hand over his white chest "Maybe you are a coward. But if so, we both are cowards. We were both involved with the death of many people. We could have stopped them, but we didn't, because we were afraid, because we didn't know anything else. We regret those deaths but we didn't do anything to stop them. We would let death come to people once again..." Lara smiled, a bitter smile as the memories came to her mind "We are both cowards..."
Archerus stared at her in silence. He wanted to deny every single thing she said about herself, but he couldn't disagree with that logic. Still, he wanted to comfort her, he wanted that bitter smile to disappear. But he didn't know what to do or what to say at this point. What could he say?
Her grey eyes looked up back at him "We can't erase what we have done. No matter how many good actions we do in the future. There's nothing we can do to change the past. We are both sinners..." her other hand came to rest on his left cheek, her thumb caressing him gently "But... at least we are not alone anymore. We can both be sinners together. Regretting the actions of our past that are slowly destroying us..." her smile was still bitter, but there were comprehension and comfort coming from it "You are not alone, Archerus."
Archerus. For so many years, he didn't even know he had a name, nothing to call himself. When he met Sapphire, she gave a designation, so it would be easier to address him. It wasn't a name, but it was the best he got. After she died, the lion met his parents and they revealed him his name true name 'Archerus'. Despite being thankful for finally having a name, it still felt like it wasn't his, everytime someone called him by that name, he forgot it was him and thought they were talking to somebody else. So why... why does it feel so right when it's her calling him that? Why does it feel like a soft caress?
"That name... I'm still not used to it... It feels weird like Archerus is somebody else and not me. So why does it feel so perfect when it's you calling me?" he observed her mouth opening slightly, her eyes shined in a way he had never seen before in her and she obviously didn't understand it either. He moved his hand to hers, the one that was still caressing his cheek. His fingers glided her wrist, sliding his way to the back of her hand and holding it gently. His heartbeat increased as he moved his face closer to hers and whispered gently, in a plea "Call my name again."
Lara was confused, but the indescribable feeling inside her chest talked louder as she whispered, obeying to his command "Archerus." her cheeks reddened as she overserved his face, his lips, coming closer to hers. She didn't move. She felt her breath mingle with hers, her lips quivered slightly in anticipation, her eyes starting to close. He seemed to mirror her actions.
What was he doing? "Again..." he tilted his head, to get a better angle. Her face moved closer to his as well. He felt like his all body was set aflame, her angelic voice making him go crazy.
"Archerus..."
He sealed her lips with his and it felt like everything exploded, the fire increased from the point his mouth touched with hers. She was so soft and warm, he felt like melting, he felt like he was touching an actual angel and had to remind himself that he was alive and not dead. Archerus felt Lara's hand move from his chest to wrap around his torso, embracing him gently, pulling him closer to her. He did the same but a bit more eagerly. That seemed to have intensified the kiss. The lion released her hand that moved to caress his black hair, tugging it softly with her thin fingers. Archerus got a handful of her quills that felt like silk running between his fingers, messing them up as he tried to desperately pull her closer. She felt as needy as him. Their legs tangled, he wrapped his tail around one of her slender legs, the fur on its end tickling her and causing her to shiver.
Archerus had no idea he felt this hungry, moving his hand up and down on her back, hearing her moan against his mouth. He couldn't get enough of her and he was starting to feel the need to breathe, but he didn't want to break the contact with her skin that, even though not even a paper sheet would fit between them, it felt like they weren't close enough. They broke apart with a loud gasp to reunite immediately, hungrier than ever. He lifted Lara from the ground, who wrapped her legs around his torso for support. Her hands caressed the sides of his face, his neck. The fire was suffocating. He rubbed her sides with eagerness making her shiver under his touch, causing beautiful sounds to come from her mouth, swallowing them immediately. He could this forever, taste her and caress her, find every single detail in her heavenly body, feeling her soft silky fur, tugging her back quills, he found they were her weak point.
He moved to kiss her jaw, moving down her neck, leaving love bites on his way down to her collarbone. Lara gave more room to work as she let herself sink into the passion, she let all this feeling swallow her all. She couldn't think, her mind was mush and all she could do was feel him, his soft, eager caresses, running through her scars without tripping, his warmth, his taste, the feeling of his strong hands supporting her all body with ease and whisper his name countlessly.
"Archerus..." he answered her by taking her mouth his once again, which she received happily.
They didn't know for how long they remained like this, they didn't care either way. But, eventually, the need for oxygen was too much to ignore. They stared at each other, panting heavily. What were these feelings? This fire on their bellies? This heavy feeling on their chests? Was it love? How could they recognize a thing they never had? Was it just the need to console each other, to satisfy each other? They didn't know.
Archerus moved for one final kiss, a soft, slow peck on Lara's lips. She responded. He looked at her grey eyes. The lion had never seen them so alive. Her muzzle was almost the same shade as the rest of her crimson fur, her lips were swollen, she had bite marks all over her neck and her fur was a complete mess. He was sure he had the same look. He slowly placed her on the ground and held the female hedgehog as she took her time to gain control over her wobbly legs. They never broke eye contact and their hearts never slowed down.
After some minutes of silence, Lara whispered, because she couldn't force herself to speak any louder "I need to make some researchers. I will see you later."
"Okay."
They didn't move for a long while. Later, Archerus slowly let go of Lara and Lara slowly stepped away from him, her feet seemed to refuse to leave their spot. She walked away, climbing up the stairs and she could feel his gaze on her back, her heart was still racing like crazy and it felt like she could hear his beating in synchrony with hers, just like it had before when they were kissing. Archerus watched her leave until she entered the room that was their library. He stared at the door for a long while, asking himself what had happened, why did it happen, but, most of all, he wished to know when could it happen again.
It didn't matter if the feelings behind all the scene were pure or not.
They were both sinners, anyway.

Rest, you damned stinky
Regina observed Merida working from her post, leaning against the wall while the lioness tired her eyes out from analyzing the papers in her hands. She had been like this the entire day and it was already almost 10 p.m., during all this time the fox tried to encourage her girlfriend to rest, but to no avail or to obtain the same, plain question "I'll in a bit, don't worry.". She had her hair in a mess, her beautiful eyes had dark circles around them and were barely fighting the tiredness that was taking all over her body. The scene was heartbreaking and Regina was already sick of it. The fox walked up to the crimson lioness. Hearing her footsteps, Merida was about to tell her again that she would rest soon but was interrupted by the sudden embrace of her fox's arms around her shoulders, her white muzzle nuzzling the right side of her face, brushing her face, as if in a attempt to fix it, but Merida knew it was a gesture of affection and a plea for her to stop. "Please..." she heard Regina whisper in her ear, softly, the tenderness making the lioness feel even more sleepy, wishing to lean against her touch "Please, come rest." she felt the fox's lips brush against her cheek, kissing her right eye softly, the fingers of her left hand stroking her muzzle, caressing her softly. Merida moved her hand to hold the one that comforted her so dearly, holding it gently in her grasp, stroking the back with her own fingertips and bringing it to her lips, closing her eyes as she caressed them. She felt Regina turn her chair so now she was facing the fox, whose face had been taken over by concern. The lioness smiled warmly "I'm so cruel for causing that hurtful expression." she whispered as her other hand moved to caress the side of her face. Regina leaned to the touch, her eyes never leaving Merida's "Yes, you are. And I hate you for that." she was always like this, working her ass out when she didn't need to, tiring herself out to the extreme and even beyond, although most of the time the lioness was an easy going person, much like her. An outsider could say they would admire this side of the lioness, but that's because they didn't see the aftermath of it. She always did her best this to happen too often "You are going to rest now, right?" she pleaded Merida's smile grew in warmth "How could I say no to that face?" she got up and wrapped her arms around her beautiful fox, her tail following their example, as she laid kisses all over the top of her girlfriends head. She parted slightly so she could have a better look at Regina's face, which she brought closer to a tender kiss by pulling her gently by the chin with her fingers. The fox complied, cupping Merida's shoulders and kissing her just as softly and lovingly. When they parted, Regina whispered "Tomorrow I'm going to kick your ass for being so stubborn." Merida chuckled "I didn't expect anything else." she replied. Together, one arm still around each other's torso, they walked up to their room and buried themselves in the covers and sheets of their bed. Merida couldn't help but sigh in relief and Regina chuckled at her girlfriend's reaction. The fox moved her hand to pinch the lioness's nose "See? What were you trying to run away from, stinky?" as a response she got Merida sticking out her tongue from her mouth that was curled up a grin, her eyes closed as she drifted to sleep. Regina smiled softly as she pulled Merida's face closer, so now it was resting her chest, running her fingers through her beautiful crimson hair gently, whispering "My stinky princess."

Sleepy
Merida watched as Regina's head used the book she had been reading as a pillow, snoring softly, her chest rising as she breathed soundlessly, her hair falling like a curtain over her face. The lioness played with her hair gently, stroking it and moving it away from the fox's face, revealing her peaceful and adorable expression, her lips slightly parted, her eyebrows furrowed slightly to go back to a relaxed position as her body seemed to rethink its situation and decided to ignore whatever happened. Merida couldn't help but grin. She rested her head in her other free hand as she kept watching her girlfriend, playing with her beautiful, silky strands of her, running them through her fingers, leaning in their texture, intertwining them gently in her fingertips to let them loose seconds after. Regina started to purr, making the crimson lioness blush and her grin grow in warmth. She decided to let go of Regina's hair, who, subconsciously, started whining softly due to the sudden absence of contact. Merida's chuckle tickled her ears when she moved closer to pick up her girlfriend gently and slowly, so she wouldn't wake up, cupping her body in her arms in bridal style. Regina's head moved to snuggle the red girl's chest, preferring this pillow much better than the book, if her purr was any sign of her content. Merida leaned down to kiss the fox's forehead, unable to help herself, her girlfriend was too irresistible. Her lips brushed the fur on the top of her head, feeling the soft texture of her skin and tasting its sweet essence as she pressed them a little bit more firmly. Regina smiled in her sleep as she whispered softly, almost inaudibly, Merida's name, as if it was a secret only for the ears of her girlfriend. Merida couldn't stop smiling and rewarded her girlfriend by softly bumping her forehead with hers, a sign of affection the two of them had created. Regina snuggled more into Merida's embrace. The lioness walked to their bedroom, her eyes never leaving her snoring fox. Her tail swung from one side to the other along with the rhythm of their heartbeat, which sang in synchrony like a beautiful song against their chests. Merida opened the door with her shoulder and entered, heading to the bed they shared with each other. She laid Regina and started fixing the sheets, wrapping them around the form of her purring girlfriend, who happily snuggled the warmth of her bed. While Merida put the covers over the fox's body, her hand was suddenly stopped from her task by another one whose fingertips sweetly caressed her own, before holding the lioness's hand gently and bringing it to her face to nuzzle it with her muzzle, rubbing its back. Merida smiled warmly at her sleeping beauty, moving to kiss her eyelid, leaning for some seconds as she savored the moment as she played with Regina's slim fingers. The lioness moved down to peck the fox's lips, who seemed to part her lips automatically to receive her girlfriend's. Merida grinned before she rubbed Regina's nose with her own and decided to join her girlfriend in her slumber. She moved the covers so now they would cover both their bodies. Regina's body immediately moved closer to snuggle with hers, reaching her arm to wrap it around her lioness's neck, whilst the other moved to cup her cheek. She smiled in satisfaction being then mirrored by her red girlfriend, whose purple eyes glimmered with the love she had for the sleepy girl in front of her. She moved her long tail to tangle it with the fox's equally long, but fluffier, tail, also a gesture they had grown fond of. The lioness drifted to sleep as well, snoring in unison with her girlfriend, both smiling warmly as they connected in their world of dreams, always together.

I Have Something More
Shadow watched as Tails cried his soul on the floor, standing in front of him without saying a word. Not that he didn’t know what to say. He knew, better than anyone, what the young fox was going through. And he also knew there were no words that could fill the whole of sorrow in his heart.
The black hedgehog sat next to him, not even a word leaving his mouth the all time. Shadow placed a hand on Tails’ shoulder, which caused the kitsune to turn his gaze to him in surprise. His blue-sky eyes glistened with tears, their light shadowed by an experience he was too young for. His arms moved as if wanting to embrace the teenage hedgehog, but hesitated because he didn’t know what his reaction would be. Shadow wrapped his arms around the sobbing fox, allowing him to nestle his muzzle on his shoulder
After a few moments of shock, Tails let himself sob in Shadow’s embrace, who gently rubbed his back.
Shadow knew there were no words that could replace the despair Tails was felling. He knew that, at the time, the only thing that would make him feel better would be to have Cosmo back. When he lost Maria he only got silence, nothing else. A long moment of silence that seemed to last forever, like he was in an endless dream until he finally woke up. But there was still silence. And Maria was still gone.
No. There’s not just silence. Not anymore.
Tails had just lost the person he loved, a person who sacrificed her life for his own, for many others, just like Maria. He could just let Tails cry, believe that Cosmo’s death was his fault and nothing good would come next. After all, that’s what he had to go through.
But Shadow wouldn’t allow that.
“I know it hurts.” he started, not really knowing what to say because he had never had to say anything before “I know it feels like the end of the world. Of your world. I know exactly how that feels, to have the ground your standing on whipped out without warning, without being able to do anything at all. That’s exactly how I felt when I saw Maria get shot to save me. On the time and much after, I was left alone, I wanted to be alone and I had nothing else. But you’re not alone. You have the most unusual group of friends that beats anyone’s possible imagination and they won’t let you be alone. You can’t let yourself be alone because you have something, someone waiting for you.”
Tails didn’t respond, he kept crying but was calming down. Eventually, when he was calmer, he asked “Do you have something now?”
The picture of a white bat pops into his mind, smiling at him, that kind of smile that only meant trouble, a scheme she was about to drag him into, despite him wanting or not. A woman who never used meaningless and dishonest “I understand.” or “I’m sorry.”. If she didn’t understand, she would simply comfort him with her presence but never leave him. She never left him no matter his opinion on the matter, no matter how much in groaned in annoyance. She refused to leave him be alone.
Shadow couldn’t contain the smile on lips, even if he wanted, as he thought about his also unusual companion that was slowly digging her way into his heart, even if she didn’t know, even he might never be able to tell her. He hopes that one day he would manage the courage to face all of his demons and tell her how much she meant to him. Soon… Shadow rustled Tails’ bangs, something that Maria had done to him so many times in the past, to console him or simply because she felt like it. The gesture confused the young fox but he seemed to appreciate it, nonetheless. The black hedgehog answered “I do. I have lot more waiting for me.”

Closed, Gentle Heart
Marine laid her head on the table, using her arms as a pillow, snuggling them in her sleep. Overslept after a hard day of work as a captain, tiring her brain even more with plans to fix the ship, upgrade it and built others. Big paper sheets laid on the table as proof of it, with sketches and instructions scribbled on them by the pens and pencils spilled over the table. A candle, with a flame still on, rested near the raccoon, sign that she had expected, or planned, to work until late. It was already night time outside the little room she was in, silence had taken over the world and there was nothing to wake the sleepy girl. The time had chilled and it was even worse that she was near the sea. She might wake up because of it and she won't be able to fall asleep again, remaining the rest of the night unrested. But such won't happen, for a pair of warm hands placed a comfy, soft and warm blanket over the little girl's tired shoulders and a pair of warm lips placed a good night kiss on her little forehead, motherly like. Silver watched all this when he peeked with one eye, lazily, he too had fallen asleep on a little couch placed in the room. His heart raced when he saw the delicate and gentle way Blaze curled Marine in her new blanket and when a smile took over her lips when the raccoon snuggled it unconsciously, as her fingers tenderly fixed some messy fur on the top the youngster's head. A huge smile took over his own lips as he watched the scene before him, getting feelings whose beauty would be ruined if you tried to explain them with mere words. Marine had always thought that Blaze hated her, always throwing mean comments at her, mainly concerning her recklessness, but he was sure that if he told the raccoon about this she explode in mumbling mess. However, Silver knew that behind those mean comments was pure, sincere love and concern, Blaze just a different way to express them. Even when she turned her back on the raccoon after they had argued, Silver knew Blaze was worried because Marine never listened to her, and she just wanted the best for the young raccoon. Silver had tried to tell that to Marine, but she didn't listen to him either. Well, but that is typical of Marine, never listens to anyone, in a way, that's something she and Blaze had in common. Perhaps that is one of the reasons why they are always arguing. Silver must have been in deep thought, for he noticed, out of nowhere, that Blaze was walking in his direction. The grey hedgehog quickly closed his eyes and tried to act like he was sleeping. He just hoped she hadn't seen him peeking. He felt her presence closer, the air around him turning warmer and his nose caught a sniff of her scent. He was trying so hard to act like he was sleeping. He felt something soft and warm fall over his body. A blanket. Blaze had put a blanket over him just like she had done with Marine. He had to try his best to not start smiling like an idiot, which happened a lot when he was around the lilac feline. A small pause and then he felt her laying a little closer to him, her body gently, lightly pressing his as her lips made contact with his forehead. On the inside, Silver was screaming like a fangirl. Her lips felt warm and soft against his fur and he obviously had to wonder how they tasted, He would have punched himself for that, if Blaze wasn't hovering him and if he did that he could possibly punch her instead. Silver was sure no one would survive that. Of course, that's not what he was worried about, even if he did it himself, that sure would get a reaction from the usual calm girl. Was it just him, or Blaze's lips were lingering for a little longer than they did with Marine? A part of him wanted to believe in that, like 99% of him, but it would be silly to consider that an option, right? After what felt like centuries, Blaze's lips left Silver's forehead and the spot she kissed felt immediately cold. Just like she did with Marine, her hands slowly and delicately fixed his messy fur and quills. Silver had to try his hardest to not open his eyes. Her hands gently petted his quills, the quills only she didn't make fun of and he loved her even more for that, for accepting him whole. When she started gently petting them to the side, as if testing if it would look better that way, Silver was sure Blaze hadn't petted Marine like that, and part of him felt special for that as if only he got to be given a treat. Silver couldn't be enjoying himself more than he already was. Well, maybe he could if he didn't have to fake that he was sleeping. But her touch was so relaxing, he felt so safe with her petting him like, her warmth spreading through his body, the feeling of her lips still on the spot where she had kissed his forehead, he started feeling sleepy. He wouldn't mind that, falling asleep to her touch, would there be a better way to fall asleep? But he also wanted to keep awake and fight the sleep away, so he could still feel her hand brushing his fur, so he could still fully feel her. Suddenly, Silver felt Blaze's lips against his cheek and electricity ran through all of his body. He didn't know why, but it felt completely different from the kiss on his forehead, somehow, more daring, as if it was needed to work up a lot of more courage to do so. Blood rushed over to his cheeks, just like when she had kissed his forehead. Silver was sure that, even if she knew he was awake, which wasn't possible because if she did, Silver was sure she wouldn't be doing any of this, she would have no idea what those little kisses were doing to his heart, which he had given to her without her knowing. Her lips left his cheek to hover over his ear as she whispered softly "Good night, Silver." and then he felt her body lifting from his. After some seconds, Silver dared to peek with one of his eyes, to see her walking away the room, taking the flame of the candle with her, using her amazing and beautiful talent, and he caught a glimpse of her beautiful, lively eyes, which were his favourite part about her, after her heart. As he observed the lilac cat leaving and his mind started drifting to Dreamland, Silver fell asleep, with hugest, dorkiest smile on his lips and his heart running fast, impossible to calm down, refused to be settled down, as his dreams were filled with a lilac cat, who always closed her heart, trying to act tough and cold, when she was actually held the most gentle heart of them all.

Hope That Comes From Your Love
He stared at her. She seemed completely unaware of his presence in the room, too focused on the book she was reading, laying on the red sofa with a coffee mug in her hand. It wasn't very cold, the room was rather warm indeed, so she decided to wear a simple pair of blue jeans and a red tank top. He preferred that she, at least, had a blanket over her, despite the room being warm, it was still a little bit chilly outside. It hadn't been a very rough day, it hasn't been for a while since Doctor Eggman parted. However, Sonic couldn't help but feel like he would come back. How many times didn't it happen? A villain who was supposedly dead and came back from his tomb? He woke up every day, thinking in that, still feeling unsure that everything was going to remain the way it had been. But her calmness was contagious, he couldn't help but relax and forget what made him nervous. He just felt like walking to her and wrap his arms around her neck, she would remain unperturbed as he rested his face in her quills, inhaling their sweet scent as he would try to focus on what she was reading and not in her beauty. He did this in his head and he did this, in reality, all going according to the expected, a grin being added to her creamy muzzle. "Feeling comfortable?" he heard her ask in a sweet, slightly entertained, tone. He hummed in response, a smile prickling to his lips as he nuzzled more her quills, being incapable of concentrating on anything but her "Very. And you?" he asked as he pressed his lips to her quills, his smile growing as he felt her leaning in. She grinned, a hand lifting to cup the side of his face that wasn't hidden in her quills, caressing his cheek affectionately and her ears twitched with the light purr that escaped, from her lips escaped a giggle, making her hedgehog mate smile in victory, his already big ego growing to a degree. "I'm very comfortable, though I have doubts about your comfort since the position you are in isn't the most pleasant." she turned her eyes to him, her grin reaching to the jade of them. He looked at her puzzled for some moments, cocking an eyebrow, before he looked at himself. Instead of kneeling on the ground, which would be the wisest choice, he had curved his back to hold her, the distance between his legs and the sofa was the length of his arms. "Oh." he said and Amy burst into laughter, clenching her stomach and kicking her legs, dropping the book in the process. Sonic looked away in embarrassment, pouting his lip but his expression changed completely as an idea came to his mind and he smiled evilly. Sonic zipped to the front of the sofa and jumped on top of the still laughing Amy Rose. She was going to cease her laughing to ask him what he was doing, but he gave her the answer before she could ask anything, as his hands started tickling the rosette hedgehog. Now she laughed hysterically as his fingers kept tickling her sides. His grin grew to toothy one when she begged him to stop while laughing. Tears streamed from her eyes "STOHAHAHAHAP IT!!" she begged incessantly, his grin grew "What were you laughing at before?" he asked as he kept tickling her "OKAY! OKAY! SOHOHOHOHORRY HEHEHEHEHE!!" he kept tickling her as he pondered on what to do. Looking down at her flushing red face, tears streaming from her eyes and mouth wide open releasing loud laughs he made his decision. Just a little entertainment. he thought as his fingers stopped tickling but didn't leave her sides. He saw her taking long and deep breaths, her chest rising and falling heavily, a sigh of relief escaping her lips as she whipped her tears "You're cruel." she said with some giggles still escaping her lips. He faked an offended expression "Well, you laughed at me." he said as he turned his face away. "Aww, my poor hedgehog." Amy teased as her hands grabbed his cheeks and pulled him in for a kiss. He grinned against her lips and kissed her back, his hands gently holding her sides. It didn't last long, but he loved every kiss they shared, he just needed to have his lips pressed against her sweet own pair. They parted and he stared lovingly at her, her beautiful jade eyes looking back at him. Her hand reached for his face, caressing his cheek gently "So are you going to let me read or what?" she teased. He faked a hurt expression "So you prefer the book to me?" he demanded, placing a hand on his chest. She nodded "Well of course." she tried to contain her smug grin. His fingers rubbed her sides slightly, moving his face closer to hers as he spoke in a low voice "Do you want to be attacked again?" She waved her hands in defense "No no no. Never mind." she said, her lips quivering in odd ways due to the memory of his tickling. He chuckled "Wise decision, Miss Rose. Very wise indeed." he said as he nuzzled the curve of her neck. She hummed in delight "I'm known for being wise." her hands found his quills, petting and tugging them gently. The breath of his chuckle teased her skin "That explains a lot." he planted a kiss on her neck and traveled to her sweet lips, quiet moans escaping her angelical voice. The kiss was deeper than the last one. His strong arms warped around her waist, her thin, yet strong, arms moved to encircle around his neck, pulling him closer to her. His arms moved as he caressed her, tracing her curves and lower back, while he could feel her tugging the back of his shirt. Sonic grinned as he bit Amy's lower lip, which caused the pink hedgehog to shiver and moan, feeling her lips also curl up in a smug grin, something he had passed on to her, apparently. He felt one of her hands slide under his shirt, causing him to flinch with the sudden contact to her skin, making Amy giggle. The blue hedgehog shivered as he hands, now both inspecting the fur under his shirt, worked their magic, tracing invisible patterns on his torso, grazing his chest and pulling his back quills. They broke after some time of intimacy and Sonic looked down at her, with the smuggest grin he could pull out after her assault "You've become quite daring, Miss Rose." Amy pouted her lip "I fear I don't know what you are talking about, Mister Hedgehog." she played. Sonic chuckled "Come here!" he exclaimed before he rubbed furiously his nose with hers, then their foreheads, messing up their fur and causing Amy to explode in laughter at his silliness. Oh! but she too joined the game! Passing her hands rapidly through his quills, making them poke out in every direction. In the end, both were just two piles of giggly messed up fur. Amy leaned into a short kiss, one that Sonic happily received, leaning as well and running his hand through her messy, long pink quills. They parted and he stared lovingly at her, her beautiful jade eyes looking back at him. Her hand reached for his, caressing his cheek gently "Are you okay?" she asked softly. His smile grew warmer, the warmth reaching to his eyes, as he warped his arms around her, resting his face on her shoulder, breathing in her addicting scent and floating in the safety she put him in. She knew about his fear of Eggman coming back, sometimes she feared that he would come back too. But whenever she saw him down because of that, she would try to cheer him up, no matter what or how much time it took. He couldn't love her more than he already did and he couldn't feel more loved than he already did. Her hands rested on his quills, petting them softly and tugging them gently, a demonstration of affection that he had always loved since it was she demonstrating it. "I'm okay as long as I'm with you." he whispered softly in her ear. "I'm serious." she said, she didn't want him to assure her that he was okay if he was not, that's something she has always hated about him, the fact that he hides his pain sometimes. He grinned "So am I." he said as he moved to face her, looking into her eyes so she could see that he was telling the truth. Her jade orbs focused on his emerald ones, a smile forming on her lips as she saw what was written on them. He kissed her cheek as he heard her say "My sweet hedgehog." he could practically hear the smile in her face, her soft tone warming his heart "I'm sorry, I just..." he started, not really knowing what to say. He hated to worry her and he hated to be worried around her because she would just read him like a book and be concerned for God knows how long. He should be treasuring these moments of peace, filling them with the happiness that was being with her, doing silly things like they had just done a few seconds ago, laughing and smiling, not spend them worrying about when a mad and old scientist, who was probably dead, would decide to show up. "Sonic, there's nothing you need to be sorry for." Amy said softly as she kept petting his quills, fixing the mess she had put them in by brushing the soft blue fur "I can't help but be worried about his return as well. Eggman has proven to be... well, let's say persistent." the pink hedgehog said, unable to hold back the sarcasm, which caused Sonic to chuckle "When we thought he was done for good, there he was again, like a fly you can't get rid off!" Amy exclaimed, swatting her hand in the air as if she was trying to get rid of an actual fly, leading Sonic to laugh hysterically against her shoulder. The pink smiled down at her hero, proud of herself for making him happy "Besides, it's a thing us heroes do, worry even when everything is okay, like paranoids." Tilting his head slightly so he could look at her without removing his head from the place on her shoulder, Sonic joked "You make us sound like we need a therapist." Amy placed a hand on her chest, whilst the other kept brushing his quills, as she replied "After all we've seen, I think we do. We are traumatized!! I was possessed by a ghost!!!" Sonic laughed again at her intentional overreaction. Amy giggled too "But seriously. I know how you feel, Sonic. I'm so used to have danger constantly knocking at my door that it feels strange when I have open safety and peace facing me when I wake up. Like I said, we are heroes, we are constantly worried because we are conscious of the dangers of the world, how easily they intrude in our lives and even when we witness the fall of our enemy personally, even when we see them bleeding to death, we can't help but think they will rise up again." Sonic had leaned against her chest, his ear resting where her heart should be, hearing its rhythm, a reassuring beat that he had saved inside his head, so he would never forget no matter where he was or how long it had been since he lost heard it, a soft and beautiful melody that calmed him in moments like this. He felt like a huge weight had been taken from his shoulders by her words, for knowing that someone understood his anxiety. "But we can either listen only to that little voice telling us that it's not over and be constantly prepared to fight or we can keep on living, experience all the many other feelings that exist without forgetting that warning whisper, but never resume our hearing to it only." she concluded. The blue hedgehog raised himself and took a good look at the gorgeous and unique woman under him. Her eyes looked up at him with compassion and understanding, but, most of all, they shone with love, that glow being for him only, those sweet words reserved for his ears just like their effects on his heart. He didn't deserve her, not after the way he had treated her through the years, it was a surprise her love for him never decreased or ceased to exist, it only grew more and more. Then, one day, he finally let her in and it was on that day that he knew what real happiness felt like. Sonic smiled, his fingers brushing her cheeks, caressing the soft, creamy fur, a smile on her lips as well. "I really love you." Sonic whispered softly. "I know." "How can you understand me so well? It's like you are inside my head. I always feared to let anyone know what I was really thinking, feeling, for that, I always hid my true feelings behind my smile, a carefree attitude, something that always put others at ease and liberated them from any concern. But it's different with you. I feel... safe, with you inside my head, I'm not so afraid to let you enter in my brain and see what's inside and I feel relieved that you can see through me like you can see through water. You're my home and I honestly feel like everything will be okay for as long as I have you by my side." Amy's smile grew in warmth at his sweet words, she let her hand rest on his cheek "You are so much better at expressing yourself now than you were when we were teenagers. You've grown so much. I'm so proud of you." she lifted herself to peck his lips, then his nose, before pulling both of them off the sofa and heading to the kitchen "Let's cook something together, shall we? Then, maybe, I can beat you at some video games."´ Sonic smiled as he went along with the play "Excuse you, but I'm the GrandMaster here, in case you don't know." Amy nodded, showing that she obviously didn't believe in what he said but would accept his judgment for as long as that made him happy. Seeing this, Sonic picked the rosette bridal style, just like in the old times, and zipped through the house "I will teach you a lesson, Miss Rose." he threatened playfully. Amy laughed as Sonic spun both of them in circles and marathons around the house until he finally took them to the kitchen. They started cooking, Sonic would throw some of the ingredients at Amy's face, she would respond and then the two of them would be running around the kitchen, covered in flour, sugar and other things, playing some variation of the game tag, laughing like two goofballs. They would play video games like they promised and Amy would make fun of Sonic's gawking face when he saw he lost a racing game and then it would be Sonic's turn to laugh at Amy's puffy face when she lost a combat game. Next, they would make a prank call for Knuckles and laugh once again at his stupidity, because he would never understand it had been them until they told him so, releasing his anger at them once he found out. They would end the day cuddling on the sofa, eating marshmallows and make fun of the movies and throw jokes at each other once again, finally falling asleep with smiles on their faces. Their days would go on like this, they would be the happiest days of their lives, but the fear that they would be taken from them still remained. But it was the love they had, the desire to prolong those days that would make them stand their ground on the eventual battles, fighting for a tomorrow filled with laughter and love.

My Spark in the Dark
Why did she decide to go out in the woods in the middle of the night anyway? Fresh air? she thought nervously. This had been a huge mistake. She didn't know where she was, it was pitch dark and she was really scared. She couldn't help but shiver every time she looked at a tree, the darkness made feel like they had evil faces and wanted to devour her. What am I thinking? she laughed nervously inside her head. She shivered from both fear and cold Why am I afraid? There's nothing to fear. It is only trees. Only trees. she reassured to herself. She raised her flashlight to see her surroundings. She pointed it down the moment she heard a bush rustling, seeing that it was just a squirrel, she sighed in relief "I'm scaring myself out over nothing. At least all the animals seem to be sleeping." as she finished saying that to herself her ears perked up when she heard howling and crawling. Her ears fell down as she whimpered "I had to say?" She pointed her flashlight to every direction she heard a sound, most of the times, there was nothing there, it was either her imagination or the forest was playing with her, either way, the pink hedgehog was extremely scared. Why should she be scared? She has a giant hammer for Chaos' sake? With a weapon like that, she didn't need to fear her, her possible enemies are the ones that should fear her. But she couldn't help it. If you were in the same situation as her, you would feel the same way. The more she walked, the more nervous and scared she got, with every little sound and shadow movement, she felt like it was her mind playing tricks on her, taunting her. She sighed "There's nothing there. there's nothing there." she repeated to herself. Suddenly she heard more movement then she usual from her left side. She pointed her flashlight and surprise surprise, there was nothing there. Even more unsettled, Amy kept walking. She heard movement from her right side and pointed her flashlight there. Nothing. "Please stop with this." she whispered, nearly on the verge of tears. She heard rustling behind her and her body stopped moving. She gulped and slowly looked behind, her body shivering only from fear now. She pointed her flashlight there, her eyes staring in fear in the direction from where she heard the rustling. The sound of something running in her direction rang in her ears and the heard "RAAAAAAAAAAAAAW!!!!" she squealed and closed her eyes tightly. The flashlight revealed a blue hedgehog. He laughed "You should have seen your face hahaha." he clenched his stomach, not being able to contain his laughter. After he heard no angry reply from her he became curious about why she hadn't said anything "Um, Ames?" only after that he saw what he had done to her. His eyes widened in response when he saw Amy curled in a shivering ball, crying and sobbing from fear, her hands covering her head in an attempt of protecting herself. Oh no. Sonic thought "Amy!? Ames, it's me, Sonic. It's Sonic, you don't have to worry." he called her as he gently shook her. She squealed and scram again, trying to shove the monster she saw in her eyes away, not daring to open her eyes, in fear if she did she would meet her death. Sonic grabbed her shoulders and turned her to him "Amy, it's me." he said as he started taking her hands off her head, she protested and squirmed in his touch "Amy. Amy, it's Sonic. Look at me." he said, becoming worried with every tear she shed and every squirm. Slowly, fearfully, she opened her eyes and when she saw a blue form, she became a bit calmer "S-s-sonic?" she sobbed. "Yeah, yeah it's me. You don't have to fear me." he said as he placed his hands on both sides of her face. It took her some time to actually it was her blue speedster and when she did she quickly embraced him, hugging him tightly as she started crying again, her body trembling and shaking with every sob "Sonic! Sonic, I'm so scared!" she cried. He was loss of words, he had never seen her this scarred before and part of it was his fault. It was like a dagger being deeply stabbed in his heart. His arms warped around her immediately, offering her the comfort she was needing so desperately, rubbing her back in an attempt to calm her. "Sh everything is okay Ames. I'm here, everything is alright." he reassured her, he felt her hide her face in the curve of his neck, her tears falling down as she tightened her grip on him, still sobbing. For how long had she been in this woods? He only had come for a run when he saw her and thought it would be funny to scare her a little. But he didn't know he would scare her this much. He felt her breathing heavily and kept rubbing her back for comfort, shushing in her ear that everything was okay. After some minutes, Amy had ceased her crying and was calmer. He pulled away from her slightly so he could look at her. Her eyes were red from so many crying and her orbs glistened with some remaining tears, which Sonic took care to whip away with his thumb, gently, afraid that any sudden move might startle her. "Feel better?" he asked softly, she sniffled and nodded. He smiled softly at her "Come on. Where's that pretty smile of yours?" she looked at him silently for some seconds before a small smile took place in her muzzle "There it is." Sonic said, whipping some more tears away "What are doing this late at the night in the woods, anyway?" he asked softly. Amy looked away but regretted immediately so instead she locked her gaze with Sonic's scarf "Even if you want an answer I, I don't know myself. I just...came." she shrugged and then her eyes locked with his once again "And you? What are you doing here?" she asked silently "I just came for a run." he answered "And then I saw and decided to-" he covered his mouth with his hand and looked away. Amy looked at him quizzically before realizing "You were the one who roared! Why would you do that !?" she asked angrily as she raised one hand to punch him. The blue hedgehog raised his hands in defense "I didn't know I would scare you this much. I'm sorry." he spoke in defense. Amy looked at him for some seconds and realized that he was being honest, he didn't want to scare her this much. The pink hedgehog sighed in defeat and let her fist fall. As she looked at the darkness surrounding them again, her eyes wide opened in horror and her arms were once again encircled around Sonic's waist as she whimpered. This caught the blue hedgehog slightly out of guard, his emerald eyes looked down at the pink girl in worry "Amy, are you okay?" he asked. She shook her head "I'm still scared." she whimpered, hiding her face in his scarf "You probably think I am pathetic." she whispered so softly that he almost didn't hear her. "Hey I would never think you are pathetic." he protested. How could she think such thing? After they all they have been through. Perhaps it was the insecurity she felt in the darkness and the fear of wondering in the dark woods talking. "It's normal to be afraid. I was afraid myself." he stated. This caught the rosette's attention "Really? You?" he chuckled "Well, you make me feel flattered, Miss Rose." she punched him in the chest and he snickered "Back to what I was talking about. In my first years living in the forest, sometimes I found myself creating monsters where they weren't." he told her "I knew I would get used to it, even if someone gave me a house where I could live, I know I would always be escaping, even now I don't always sleep in my house. I'm always switching places." Amy smiled at that statement. How true she knew that was. "But, even knowing that I would start to get used to it, I was still afraid. And you know what happened?" Amy shook her head in response, looking at him expectantly, waiting for him to continue the story. He couldn't help but smile at how adorable she looked, being pretty similar to a little kid hearing one story from his grandparents " One night, when I was wandering around a forest I was currently living in, I find a spot filled with fireflies. You should have seen it." he told excitedly "I watched them dancing around, lightening everything they passed near through and then...I forgot about my fear." he finished. "So...you lost your fear thanks to the fireflies?" Amy asked making Sonic chuckle, he shook his head gently "No, I lost my fear because of the lesson those fireflies taught me. Do you know which is?" she shook her head and kept staring at him expectantly "Where there's darkness, there's light. Darkness can't exist with light and light can't exist without darkness. What I mean is, there's always a spark of light to guide us in the darkness even if we don't know." he smiled. She starred at him How does he always manages to be like this? she asked herself. She might have never known the reason but she knew it was with this way of him being that she fell in love with. "Wow that's...a beautiful story, Sonic." she smiled warmly. He giggled and rubbed his nose with one finger, a habit of his "Hehe thanks." he smiled, a toothy smile. He started getting up and she looked at him confused "Come on. I want to show you something." he offered one hand to help her up, his smile shining in the darkness. She looked confused at his hand, slowly reaching hers to grab it "W-where are we going?" she asked. He chuckled "Sorry, can't tell ya. It's a surprise." he teased as he grabbed her hand and pulled her off the ground. He started walking with her and Amy got nervous "W-wait! The flashlight!" she exclaimed, not wanting to be surrounded by the darkness again. He was going to turn to her and say that she didn't need it, that he knew where they were going, but after taking a look at her face he didn't dare to say it and went to pick up the flashlight, holding it as they walked to wherever Sonic was guiding them. Sonic held the flashlight and Amy walked close to him "Why are we walking and not running?" she asked nervously. He looked at her worried "It's part of the surprise. Don't worry, it's not very far." he reassured. An owl was heard, startling the poor rosette girl, that hugged the speedster's arm in search of protection. The pink girl blushed in embarrassment once she realized her actions and apologized to the blue hedgehog. Sonic smiled warmly "It's okay. Stay as close as you want." he blushed once he realized his words "I-I-I mean, if you are afraid! For y-your protection!" he stammered. Amy giggled at his embarrassment, which sent a wave of relief to the blue hedgehog, at least she was calmer now. Another sound was heard and this time, Amy warped her arms around Sonic's waist. She was going to apologize, but before she could say anything, she felt one of Sonic's arms warping around her shoulders. She blushed slightly and looked up at him to see his expression. A red blush took place in his cheeks, but he was wearing a serious expression. Feeling her gaze on him Sonic looked down at her and said "I told you could get as close as you wanted, didn't I?" a smile was taking place in his lips, the warmth that scared the cold away. Amy didn't say anything and kept walking, locking her gaze with Sonic's scarf again, her cheeks flushing red I've never imagined that could ever be this way with me. Well, I did imagine but never expected to happen in real life. Amy thought. He was being so gentle with her, so gentle that the pink hedgehog was having a hard in believing that she wasn't just dreaming. They kept walking and the night didn't change its cold temperature and sharp wind, but somehow, Amy didn't feel as uneasy as before, in fact, she barely noticed the cold wind was there. Of course, she paid attention to the animal sounds and still got startled by them, but she didn't feel as scared as before. Was it because of the story Sonic told her? Or was it because of the blue hedgehog himself? She didn't know and it didn't matter, the only thing she knew was that she wasn't alone in those woods, she had never been but this new company came to help her and not scare her. Well, at least he doesn't want to scare her more, because that was his first objective. But she was sure that if Sonic knew the state she was already in, he wouldn't have done anything. She already knew that and was assured by his worried gaze and the regret in his voice when he apologized. Through their walking, a word wasn't spoken, maybe because there was nothing to say or because none of the hedgehogs knew what to say. They didn't know, they just kept walking, embraced, as Sonic lead them to their special and mysterious destination. The blue hedgehog looked down at the pink hedgehog to see if she was okay and something came to his mind "Hey, Amy." she looked at him "I was wondering, aren't you the one with good survival skills? If you have them why are you afraid?" in response, Sonic received one of Amy's death glares and now he was the one scarred "I was just wondering." he said in defense "Sorry if I offended you." She kept looking at him with that angry stare before she sighed and looked down "I've been wondering in these woods for a long time, in the dark. I can nearly see where I'm walking, even with my flashlight. After some time, your mind starts playing tricks on you and you see things where they aren't. Even with my survival skills and my hammer, I'm still afraid." she explained in a quiet voice "I know it sounds stupid, but it's the way I feel." He stared at her in silence, with his free hand he scratched the back of his and thought in what to say "Well, I understand stupid things. It's actually one of my greatest abilities." she didn't lift her head to look at him but he kept talking "And that doesn't fit in the definition of stupid." this time she looked at him, expectantly, wanting to believe that he truly believed in that and that he just wasn't trying to make her feel better. "It's exactly the same way I used to feel when I was little. I knew I would get used to it and on top of that, I had supersonic speed. If someone's stupid for being afraid that would be me." seeing that she didn't like that last sentence, he kept explaining "What I mean is. I know how that feels, having what you need to not be afraid, but still being anyway. I wouldn't judge even if I hadn't been in the same situation as you." he told her softly. She stared at him and in response to his kind words, she tightened her grip on his waist, without hurting him, and rested her face near his neck as she whispered softly and lovingly "Thank you." Sonic tried to keep his cool and cleared his throat slightly which resulted in Amy widening her smile as she had her eyes closed in delight "You can thank me, but not now." he said "We're almost there." Amy still wondered what he could possibly want to show her in this dark forest, but he always managed to surprise her. She loved the amazing places where Sonic had taken her, even the simplest locations he was able to find some hidden, magical place and he would either show them or tell them about it, that when he traveled alone. She saw him looking around, was he lost? She was going to ask him that before he exclaimed "We're here." he said as he started letting go of her. Amy reacted immediately and grabbed his arm, making him smile softly in the process "Don't worry, I won't leave you." he said softly as he walked behind her and covered her eyes with his warm hands "I'll guide you, I won't let you trip." he assured her as he started guiding the now blind pink hedgehog. They walked and Amy stepped in some branches in the ground, almost tripping in one of them before Sonic automatically warped one arm around her waist, using his other arm to cover her eyes, rescuing her from a possible fall He really likes to keep things a surprise until the end. she thought. "Okay, ready." she heard him ask behind her, she nodded in response. He took his hands off her eyes and she opened them, revealing her jade orbs that shone with the view around her "Whoa." was all she could see as she watched an army of fireflies flying and dancing around them It is like the fireflies in Sonic's story. Amy starred amazed at the glowing insects. Some fireflies danced around her and rested on the top of her head, making the pink hedgehog giggle. She turned at Sonic "Sonic this is amazing!" he said excitedly, obviously forgetting all the fear she had been feeling some moments ago. The blue hedgehog smiled proudly not for the place he had found but for that smile in front of him "See, wherever there's darkness, there's light." he said as he walked up to her. The fireflies started flying near him and he chuckled slightly and then flew in Amy's direction. The pink girl giggled again as she spun around and fireflies did the same with her. Some formed a circle above Amy's head and Sonic wondered if they could read his mind. He couldn't stop smiling I'm glad it worked. he thought as he observed her spinning around with the fireflies. Some fireflies flew back to Sonic again, who reached a hand, giving a place to lay in "No matter what, there will always be a spark of light to guide you in the dark." Sonic said as he looked at Amy. She stared at him, loss of words, he looked like an angel. She blushed at that thought but that's the way she felt now. He had been so comprehensive and so gentle with her. Guiding and comforting her in the dark, reassuring that it was okay to be afraid, letting her hold him whenever she wanted. She felt her heart beating faster, because of him and not because of the fear she once felt. Even before arriving at the firefly spot, she didn't feel as scared as before. She felt so safe next to him like everything couldn't go wrong. She could feel his aura scaring those monsters that wanted to scare her away. And she realized You're my spark in the dark. She smiled. It could be no one else but him and she couldn't be any happier, because it was him. She observed him silently as the fireflies flew around him and he smiled at them. She felt her eyes getting drowsy and a yawn escaped her lips. Sonic's ear twitched at the sound and looked back at the pink sleepy girl, a soft grin took place over his features "Sleepy, are we?" he said playfully. She smiled back at him, her body started falling as she could barely stand up. Before she could crash into the ground, she a pair of strong arms scooping her and was held close to Sonic's warm chest. She rested her head on it and her ears were able to hear his heartbeat It's fast. she thought sleepily. "I'll take you home." she heard him say and nodded as she nuzzled comfortably into his embrace. Of course, they arrived at her home in a second. Sonic carefully bent down and caught one of her spare keys, she had told him to use it if anything ever happens, he wished he didn't have to use the key too often or at least if he did it would be in situations like the one he was currently in. He opened her door and walked to her bedroom. He lay her gently in the comforts of her bed, covering her with the warm sheets, tucking her in for a good night of sleep. He smiled as he saw her nuzzling her pillow and holding the blankets with her hands. The moonlight created a beautiful effect on her, making it seem like she was shinning, making her contrast even more in the darkness. He moved one of her quills from her face "Good Night, Ames." he said softly as he started walking away from her room... "Good night, my spark in the dark." she said sleepily with a smile tugging at her rosy lips. The blue hedgehog stopped in his tracks and looked behind to see that she had already fallen asleep, a smile on her lips as she dreamed of the night she shared with him and the fireflies. A smile took place in his peachy muzzle and his cheeks reddened. He walked to her bed again and lay a one kiss on her forehead. He was in her bedroom door before he whispered "Goodnight, my angel." and closed the door slowly and silently, walking away from the room of his sleepy angel that as always guided him, having returned the favor that night and wished to do it many other times.
