Back to the bad story(mentioned 4 years ago), there was a a concept in it. People were recruited at the lowest point in their lives and promised infinite access to whatever vice had them if they answered the call. The call was to battle and power and this was addicting in a new way for these people, unfortunately failure on the battlefield meant that they would be removed and their minds would be stripped of the memories of their battles. This left multiple gaps, in their memories as well as in their selves as they found themselves craving something they didn't know of. It left them in worse states than when they started and this newfound state of addiction and simultaneous withdrawal was extremely dangerous. They had a specialty hospital created for an addiction where the high could not even be remembered. The part that matters to me right now though is that the family of one of the patients asked spitefully "why not let him gamble[his previous vice] again if he's going to wither away without it?" And a nurse answered "We would do that if it actually let him recover from this."(the implication being that they would reintroduce the previously crippling vice to offset the definitely fatal withdrawal to the new forgotten one). It was mindblowing to read, the introduction of a poison to fight a worse one. I think about it sometimes, if the alternative is worse, how bad can smoking, drinking, wasting be.

Disclaimer: not planning on dying soon, also I want my words to be out there but I don't want them to leave a ripple right now. Anyway, I'm quite sad knowing I've gone first. I'm not dead and I hope I won't be for a while, I just might as well be. I think I've already been mourned. Quoted or misquoted, where needed and wanted. Remembered for moments, forgotten. Written about secretly and adapted. Defined. I've been mourned already but I haven't finished mourning yet and don't think I will be for a while. I feel like a cold ghost grasping at whatever they can of life as someone that used to care for them turns away from their gravestone one final time. I can't do anything about it, I just keep dreaming about them. Which is why I say I have nightmares all the time.

I'm not supposed to be awake for an hour but I have to shower immediately. I took melatonin to sleep and had a painful dream and now I'm burning hot and a pile of anxiety. I have work in an hour.

I've been thinking about it a lot and I've come to the conclusion that it's not disrupted canon that's making the spiderverse collapse but instances of spiderman choosing to not be a hero or being the villain. Replacing a different universe's spiderman could be seen as bad or in the complacency that domestic life created Miguel stopped saving people. In Pavitr's earth, Gwen stacy(bare minimum) decided to do nothing to save the captain and even tried stopping miles from saving him. It's just a further extension of "with great power comes great responsibility." It's only not a spiderman story when they choose not to save people. When they are not the good guys.

NOTHING makes me more mad than people shoving aside creepy behavior just because the person in question is neurodivergent and doesn't pick up on social skills well. there was this girl in high school who got way too touchy with me no matter how many times I told her to stop and the fucking school guidance counselor and school psychologist were like "well you can't blame her because she can't pick up on social cues well". i'm neurodivergent too but if someone begs me to stop doing something it's kind of fucking clear they don't like it???

just the way people approach neurodivergency is so infantilizing I hate it. if you ever reblog a post about how it's ableist to react angrily to someone invading your space i'll fucking kill you. half the things you guys call ableism are just straight up not, and this isn't even a tumblr thing, it's something supposed medical professionals believe.
