My dear Anon, here are my thoughts: Amelia asked Ivan to join the cheer squad one day, thinkin’ he’d be great with all those lifty muscles, wow wow wow.  Ivan panicked and ran away! Ivan’s ballet teacher (sshhh its a secret) wouldn’t let him join cheer for fear of injury. (”THEY’RE NOT PROPERLY TRAINED!” she says presumptively.) He felt bad and couldn’t reject Amelia outright. But he pretends not to watch her when he walks by their practice after school. Ivan thinks Amelia’d be very nice to lift, tbh.  Finland is cheer coach. Amelia’s closest cheer buds are Chile, Ecuador and twin sis Nyo!Canada. Columbia is Amelia’s rival. Natalya and Ivan were trained in ballet since they were like 2 yo.  ---

Ok, its not after work yet, but I found downtime.

I don't know if this holds any significance, but Nino seems the most natural from whatever my perspective is. （*´▽｀*）Italian-American culture is dominated by southern Italian and Sicilian influence, so my question is, @flamaflavio​ how weird would it be for Al to throw out Nino every now and then?  I love Lovi though. Weird name or not, Lovino sounds beautiful, even more so after you get used to it. And Lovi trips off the American tongue quite nicely, imho. It feels nice to say. Yee, Romano feels. [edit for random factoids] After some research, my perspective is most likely influenced by Calabrese and Sicilian families that settled in the area. :o And on a more personally affective note, the family I’ve had the most influence from is from Ragusa

I was thinking about possible nicknames that other Italian characters can use for Lovino :0 This isn't an Italian name (actually, it's a rare South Italian surname! It's used in Apulia) so I tried to take already existing nicknames from other names that are similar to his.

Lò, Lov, Lovi, Lollo, Lolli, Lino, Nino, Vivi, Vivvi.

Now you might think it's okay for everyone to use these nicknames but that's incorrect! :)

Lò, Lov, Lovi, Lollo are simple nicknames that pretty much any Italian character can use for him.

Lolli on the other hand is a bit cheesier so it's better if only people who are really close to him use it (especially Italian girls might call him that).

Lino, Nino are a bit more South Italian™ nicknames so I think only Nyo Romano would use them for Lovino.

Vivi and Vivvi sound too cheesy and only someone like Veneziano or grandpa Rome/his parents would use them for him!

The other nations would probably call him Lov, Lovi or Vino because they're the simplest ones! One last thing: I said that "Italian characters would use these nicknames" just because I have no idea if they work in other languages too! Maybe they do?? Maybe they don't?? If you asked me, for example, if it would make sense for X non-italian character to call Lovino X nickname I would give you this simple answer: I don't know! I’m a simple women, i daydream of Romano in the 1920s working on Amelia’s garden when suddenly there’s a downpour, so he goes inside all wet and looking hot as shit cause now his shirts a little see-through, slightly unbuttoned with the sleeves rolled up and he shakes his hair and it fall in his face. He than looks around to find someone to ask for a towel cause he has respect and isn’t about to drag water through another person’s home only to get a confused but endearing smile on his face when he sees Amelia wide eyed whose pouring a glass of lemonade (which is starting to overflow) only to get flustered when the very attractive man points it out and I go feral.

Following an advice given by my friend @flamaflavio I’ve decided to dedicate a series of posts on Northern Italy(because there’s a serious lack of them in the fandom:(),whether they might be about culture,history,folklore,stereotypes(could be an interesting addition to characterization)or misconceptions*? Maybe even cuisine ahah I actually have a post about Christmas desserts in store :)

In this post I’ll expain what we intend for North Italy, why it doesn’t line up perfectly with canon and most importantly why Feli gets called “Italy” way more often than Mano.

I feel this very hard. Content creation takes effort. It is fulfilling in its own way, but creating content doesn’t inspire the same kind of joy that consuming content does.  CONTENT CREATION AND SHARING IS AN ATTEMPT AT COMMUNICATION.  If content inspires you, let the creator know it! :D They DO want to hear about it. And then they want to hear about YOUR ideas. Rarepairs can be a hecking inspiration desert though, ngl. 

Sometimes I crave romerica content so hard, but like, not from me.
