Yeah that's right folks, today marks the two year anniversary of the first chapter of Surely Some Star Binds Me To You. I got real emotional and profound last year, then when off the rails and edited the entire fic to fix the typos n shit like a lunatic, and suffice to say I will HAHA. Not be doing that this year.

I adore you guys, I adore Ed, and I adore writing this bitchass fic. Was it a little bit insane to do a full length OC insert for a series everyone is always losing their minds over being long as fuck for my first published fic? Yes. Would I go back and change a thing? Bitch be so fr.

I have learned a frankly concerning amount about myself throughout this writing process and I'm just so damn glad you guys have enjoyed it as much as you have. Now as we approach the finish line of part one, literally all I gotta say is thank you.

So ANYWAY. To celebrate this silly little milestone, I give you redone and prettified versions of all Ed's past bounty posters.

Oh yeah babe, someone learned basic and simple lighting techniques (that I am mediocre at but shhhhh). Ed getting progressively more bloodied and beaten throughout their pictures will never not be funny to me. Like bestie you so have a brand.

Guess who is once again pushing the SSSBMTY update back again ahahahaahahahha.

Just one week this time, I'm not gonna stick you with the full two week wait because I'm generous like that. I don't want to go on a twice a month update schedule this close to the finish line out of pure spite tbh, and I would like to remind any other fic writers reading this that pushing yourself too hard for any other reason — obligation especially — is dumb as bricks. Take breaks and stuff. Do as I say and not as I do and all that.

Gosh don't I pick the best moments of tension to do this 😌

These last five-ish weeks of classes before summer break are gonna be busy and rough, and these pushbacks are gonna be a little touch and go and I'm not ruling it happening again out ofc, but we out here doing our best.

Y’all I’m literally SO MAD. This is my last week of classes for the semester and I have not had a SECOND OF PEACE to write A SINGLE SENTENCE. So uuuuuuuuuh no chapter today. In my defence I had the worst mental breakdown of my life last week and the seasonal depression has Got my ass.

(Might just be a me thing tho tbh. It's probs a lot of people's go-to.)

Even the leaving the first word out of some sentences, like saying 'you ok?" instead of 'are you ok?' is an accent thing I Did Not Know I did until I was writing dialogue how I fucking speak. Wild.

Counter suggestion: just imagine them talking like Shoresy. The sheer incomprehensibility of them speaking like they're right outta Letterkenny.

Hey! I love the way you write and I love you so much. That's why I'm asking for advice on developing an idea for a One Piece AU that has to do with gangs and motorcycles. I don't know how to express it since the idea came from a dream but the image of Luffy on a motorcycle just won't leave my head. How did you manage to develop your story? Is it by making point-based statements or something like that for writers? This would be my first fanfic but I really really want to write it.Sorry if the writing is messy, I don't speak English so the translator is helping me.

My go-to and favourite way to plan out stories is what I call the cumulative method.

Worlds and stories feel so much more lived in and well thought out if you give yourself time and space to think about the different parts of it and all the moving pieces that go into the story — so my best piece of advice is to just write down every idea you have about it whenever you have one. If you have a cool thought before you're about to fall asleep, write it down. If you're outside walking and see a sign or something that gives you can idea, write it down. Just compile all the little thoughts and details as you go, even when you're not actively planning out the overarching plot or themes or story. Write down moments you want in the story even if you won't know where, write down funny or sad one-liners you want to use, write down everything.

I have all my notes organized into sections of my story (like a different note for each arc) and just whatever I want to happen in it in a vaguely chronological order. Starting with jot note ideas and filling in the space around them totally works, you don't have to know every detail of your plan before you start working either — some of the best parts of your story might be things you improvise while you're writing. I tend to jump right into writing before planning and then grow my plan around whatever happens on the page, but however you go about your own is up to you.

Wow that got long. Tldr; write all your ideas as you go even when you aren't focusing on your story and you'll be fine. Good luck and happy writing!

actively going insane as we speak. i wish and crave a physical copy of sssbmty but i have a grand total of 0 book binding skills. everyday i suffer with the fact that i can NEVER own a physical copy in my own two hands. its devastating. i can feel my soul crushing in on itself as it realizes i will never feel the pure bliss of reading sssbmty on smooth paper. i cry and scream and beg the gods to give me the skills and supplies i require to forge my own book, yet wilt and crumble in the cold, empty response they give.

"NO" they shout.
