The Lady Aph costume/character design analysis zine is HAPPENING!! I'm looking into ways of formatting and then of course- selling/distributing them to folks who want them!!

Here's a cutie patootie sneak peek of one of the hardest redesigns I've had to do so far - the dress from Donna's wedding!

My biggest struggle was the balance I wanted to maintain of elegance, frugality (because of Pheonix Drop not being a very rich village at the time), rewearablity, and not updstaging the bride (Aphmau would never do that to Donna) - while also trying to maintain certain aspects of the original dress (i despise the costuming from this episode WHY WAS GARROTH IN A MODERN SUIT IN A FANTASY SETTING!!!! WHY WAS SHE IN A 2015 HOMECOMING DRESS AAARUGHHHH!)

the more I think about ridiculous Garroth lore the fucking sillier it is. wdym this hooligan saw his crush and boy best friend “kissing” in the woods and was like. “oh god oh no the two people I love the most… my crush who does not know I’m in love with her and my bestie who has made it very clear he also likes my crush… how could they💔” and instead of being like normal amounts of heartbroken he has to join his evil emo brother and terrorise the public about it. like how down bad WAS he Jesus Christ. new doctor/healer arrives he’s like “you can’t heal my… broken heart😔😔” thank fucking god actually he was never up front about those feelings because that level of vicious sad wet dog energy would be too much. it would disturb the public

what it isn’t that old it’s only been - TEN YEARS?????? I remember when this was released….

but in all seriousness, as cheesy as it sounds, this series is probably one of the best things that could’ve happened to me. It was my first concrete fandom that I joined! My first ocs were for this series! My closest and oldest friends were made because of this fandom (shoutout @nineteen-rats)! It really formed me into the person I am today and it definitely shows in my work lol.

Although I’m not into Aph anymore, she still holds that special place in my heart <3

So thank you Minecraft Diaries, you’re such a wonderful if not strange series…

This is actually the most accurate scale of my art style changing over the years… I unfortunately either misplaced or straight up didn’t make one in 2015 (which would make sense because a lot of my “redraws” started in 2016) but still the fact that this particular fanart has been attempted so many times.. unbelievable

It just blows me away that this series pushed little 11 year old me to draw so much that I’m a junior in art college now, still drawing this fanart!
